Out-Foxed

Sonic knows his good buddy Miles "Tails" Prower is not one to be easily out-smarted. But when animals and people alike begin to disappear from across the world, and Tails discovers a new device that not even he can figure out, he sets off to find the cause and save Mobius once more. (This is my first work, any criticism is welcome and accepted, so long as it's constructive.)

1. Chapter 0: Prologue

Prologue

The planet Mobius. A peaceful planet, shared by Humans and Mobians alike.

One such Mobian happened to be the fastest being of them all. This royal blue hedgehog's name was Sonic.

Around Mobius, Sonic was renowned as a hero. He had honed his skills battling his eternal arch-enemy, Dr. Ivo Robotnik. Every year, Robotnik would surface with some new diabolical scheme. Every time, Sonic beat him back.

When Sonic wasn't fighting off the power-hungry Robotnik, he hung out with his best buds, Miles "Tails" Prower and Knuckles the Echidna. Miles was a small, young, intelligent fox with two tails. The tails earned him his nickname, "Tails". Knuckles was the rather surly, short-tempered, guardian of the mythic Master Emerald. Most days usually consisted of Sonic being roped into testing one of Miles' new, usually quite unstable, machines, or hanging out on Angel Island with Knuckles tolerating his presence.

We find our hero, Sonic, early one of those fine mornings. Little does he know, sleep will have to wait…
