Coconuts was busy sweeping the floor in his laboratory. Cleaning up a bunch of chemicals he had spilled. He sighed as he did so and stared off into space.

Suddenly he saw two shadowy figures, a tall lanky one and a short and fat one.

"Look who's on sanitation duty again!" Scratch pointed then did his signature laugh, Grounder followed suit.

"Shut up…" Coconuts rolled his beady eyes and continued mopping.

"Face it, Grounder and I may be incompetent, but compared to you, we are Robotnik's favorites!" Scratch grinned sadistically.

"Yeah, he only promoted you once!" Grounder grinned in a similar fashion. Coconuts growled, his light began blinking in anger, he kicked a table out of anger and a bunch of equipment crashed to the floor.

The boys chuckled a little until they heard Coconuts whimper slightly.

"Um… Are you okay?" Grounder asked, feeling slightly ashamed.

"No! I'm not! Now go away!" Coconuts growled. The two reluctantly left, leaving Coconuts to go to his room. He packed some stuff in a cloth he tied to a stick.

"What are you doing?!" Robotnik shouted. "You're supposed to be cleaning the lab!"

"Look. I don't care what you do anymore!" Coconuts scoffed. "I know you have no use for me, so… I'm leaving…"

"You are?" Robotnik asked.

"Yes and there is nothing you can do about it." Coconuts looked at Robotnik who started back for a few seconds.

"Alright, go on." Robotnik replied. "I don't need you, nobody needs you!"

Coconuts huffed and scuttled away with his bag.

Sonic was running around outside, while he was waiting for Tails to wake up back at the campsite. Suddenly he came to a halt when he saw Coconuts.

"Coconuts, what is he up to?" Sonic hid behind a tree to see what the robot monkey was doing. But he soon noticed Coconuts had his head hung low as he was sniffling.

"Coconuts?" Sonic asked.

"What do you want?" Coconuts asked.

"Where are you going?" Sonic asked.

"I'm running away, Dr. Robotnik doesn't love me." Coconuts answered with a frown.

"You really think it's going to be better, out there?" Sonic asked. "You'll have no safe place to go and nobody to oil you are charge your batteries when they get low. You could get into some bad trouble. You could end up in the junk yard!"

"I don't care!" Coconuts gritted his teeth slightly. "Besides, you have no home yourself, you hypocrite!" Sonic looked rather uncomfortably at Coconuts. "Sorry…"

Sonic frowned at Coconuts' uncharacteristic apology. Something was wrong with this monkey.

"Coconuts… Do you… want to stick with me and Tails for a while?" Sonic asked.

"What?" Coconuts asked.

"I know we are sworn enemies but… Even you need somewhere to stay. Just know if you try anything I'll take it back." Sonic warned.

"Okay… I guess…" Coconuts smiled slightly. Sonic took him back to the camp where he and Tails were. Coconuts was debating what to do, but he felt it was the right call to stay with Sonic and Tails, as much as he hated it.
