Prologue: Two Hedgehogs, One Story Begins
On a bright day, the sun is shining over a large city known as San Francisco, California, with a bridge that goes across the water. It seems like it's any ordinary day. Just then, a blue and red speck of light dash through the city as they are being chased by another red speck of light. The second speck of red light chases after the red and blue speck of light, and shoots lasers at them.
Closer up is some kind of aircraft that is flying over the city, chasing two anthropomorphic hedgehogs around fifteen years old.
The first one is male with predominantly blue fur. He has small, triangular ears on the top of his head, seven quills that extend from the back of his head, with three on his back and a tail. He also has green eyes, a black nose, peach fur on his muzzle fur and his belly, and his muzzle fur extends to the center of his nose ridge. He is wearing white gloves, a pair of white socks, and red Puma sneakers with white straps, white soles, and yellow Puma tags. He also has a bag on his shoulder.
The second hedgehog is a girl, who has black fur with red stripes on her quill like hair that goes past her shoulders and one dreadlocks on each side of her head, and a stripe on each of her arms and legs, and a white crescent on her chest. She also has red eyes. She is wearing a black jumpsuit with short sleeves, red and blue vertical jagged patterns on the legging, black and red shoes, gold bands on her wrist and ankles, white gloves, a blue headband, and a gold chain necklace with a gold heart on it.
In the flying aircraft is a man with comb back hair, a mustache, wearing a red outfit, and black goggles with red lenses.
The man in the aircraft continues to chase after the two hedgehogs. The man continues to fire lasers at the two.
Scene Freezes
Sonic (Narrates): So, I know what you're thinking. Why is that incredibly handsome hedgehog and pretty hedgehog being chased by a madman with a mustache from the Civil War?"
Eve (Narrates): Sonic.
Sonic (Narrates): Well it's true.
Scene Unfreezes
The two hedgehogs continue running and dodging the laser blast from the man in the flying craft all over the city, and dodging the cars
Sonic (Narrates): Well, to be honest, it feels like we've been running our whole life. Is this too much? Am I going too fast? It's kind of what I do-"
Eve (Narrates): Sonic, maybe it will be best to go back and explain our story from the beginning.
Sonic (Narrates): You're probably right. This is going a little too fast for our readers.
Eve (Narrates): Alright. Let's go back to the beginning of our story. Want to take the lead, Sonic?
Sonic (Narrates): It would be my pleasure, Eve.
Flashback: Many Years Ago.
In another world, there is a large island somewhere in the middle of the sea. There are large forests, long pathways with loops. There's even a waterfall.
Sonic (Narrates): This is the island where I'm from.
Then a blue blur comes zipping down the path.
Sonic (Narrates): It had everything.
Then the blue blur zips on the further path.
Sonic (Narrates): Sandy beaches, cascading waterfalls,
The blue blurs zip across another path and breaks the bridge.
Sonic (Narrates): Public access to loop-de-loops.
The blur then speeds over on the loop-de-loop path. Then flies on the ramp and into the air.
Sonic (Narrates): And I never had to catch a school bus because I could run across the entire island in less than two seconds.
The blue speck of light then speeds down the ramp on the other side. The blue speck of light is actually the younger version of the blue hedgehog around four to five years old. Only, he's wearing basic, small, brown boots, and white gloves.
Sonic (Narrates): Also, there was no school. I know, pretty sweet island, right?
Eve (Narrates): Sure Sonic.
Sonic (Narrates): Hey, who's telling the story?
The little Sonic continues to speed across the terrain. The little hedgehog speeds into a ball, and with excitement. The young Sonic runs across a ramp and shoots up in the air.
The little hedgehog cheers, "Yeah!"
He then lands on the ground, and speeds across the island as he runs and bounces around the area.
Sonic (Narrates): I was born with extraordinary powers and was told to keep them secret. And like any kid, I did the exact opposite.
Young Sonic then runs up some bridges across a small neighborhood in the forest. He curls up into a ball, and rolls into the house across the bridge. He playfully jumps up, and playfully bumps a large sleeping anthropomorphic owl.
She possessed purple-brown feathers on most of her body, while her face was covered in white feathers, with light brown feathers extending from her nose ridge and over her eyes, forming eyebrows. She also possessed blue eyes and a short and curved black beak. Additionally, she had two light brown and black-striped feathers coming out from behind her ear-tufts that are reminiscent of a great horned owl, and large mottled brown wings. Along with small dexterous digits on her wrist joints, which were separate from her primary feathers.
Sonic (Narrates): That's Longclaw. She took care of me.
Young Sonic lands on the ground, and out of his ball form. He laughs happily as the owl wakes up.
Sonic (Narrates): She was basically Obi-Wan Kenobi. If Obi-Wan Kenobi had a beak and ate mice.
The owl, Longclaw, sighs and says, "Sonic, someone could have seen you."
"No one saw me. I'm too fast!" Young Sonic says, expressing his speed.
Then brings out a yellow flower from his quills, "And, I wanted to bring you this."
Longclaw sighs as she smiles, and goes to accept the flower. Before she can accept the flower, Longclaw notices a tribe of red colored Echidnas in the trees, wearing tribal clothes and masks, and aiming their weapons at the two.
Longclaw shouts, "Get down!" and jumps to Sonic to protect him.
She then closes the door with her claws and the Echidna tribes fire their arrows from their bows and hit the door. The arrows continue to fire at the walls of the halls, and hit through the window. One of them even hit Sonic's flower.
Soon, the echidna climbs on the trees and heads towards the house to attack them as they begin to climb through the windows.
Sonic (Narrates): Turns out with great power, comes great power-hungry bad guys. And I led them right to us.
Determined, Longclaw then flies through the window with Sonic in her claws. The Echidna tribes begin to fire their arrows at them as Longclaw escapes with Sonic in tow. Eventually, one of the Echidna, suspecting to be the Tribal leader, fires his arrow, and strikes Longclaw at her side. Longclaw loses her flight and plummets to the ground. She quickly uses her body as a cushion for Sonic. Wounded, Longclaw gets up and puts a very concerned Sonic on his feet, and he looks up at her.
Longclaw says, "Listen carefully, Sonic. You have a power unlike anything I have ever seen. And that means someone will always want it. The only way to stay safe is to stay hidden."
Longclaw then takes a gold ring from her satchel and tosses it. Then the ring opens a portal to a different location.
Longclaw turns to Sonic and says, "This world is on the far side of the universe. You should be safe there."
"I don't want to go without you!" Young Sonic says.
"You must," Longclaw says, and hands Sonic her satchel of rings. " These Rings will be your most important possession."
Longclaw gasps to hear the Echidna tribe and sees them getting closer to them. Then looks back down at Sonic.
"If you're ever discovered, use one," Longclaw says, and gently pushes Sonic closer to the portal with her ring.
She then says, "Never stop running. Now, go!"
Reluctantly, Sonic runs through the portal as fast as he can. He then looks back, horrified as Longclaw prepares for an attack.
Sonic cries out, "Longclaw!"
Sonic places the satchel down and runs back to help her.
Seeing the Echidna tribe getting closer, Longclaw looks back at Sonic one last time, "Goodbye, Sonic."
"No!" Young Sonic cries out.
Sonic runs as fast as he can, but before he can get back to Longclaw, the portal disappears.
Young Sonic screams, "Noo!"
Soon enough, Sonic finds himself all alone and Longclaw is lost to him forever.
Sonic (Narrates): And then next thing I knew, I was all alone, and lost everything that night. However, my life takes an unexpected turn.
Suddenly, Young Sonic hears something and looks up in the night sky to see something flying across the sky. Then crashes into the darker part of the forest. Young Sonic gasps in shock, and runs to find the mysterious object that has crashed in the forest. When Sonic arrives, he sees a large crater with some cylinder-like capsule in the center.
"What's that?" Young Sonic asks.
Young Sonic cautiously walks over to the strange capsule. He has no clue what it is or what's in there. When he is about three feet close, the capsule opens, letting out some steam and smoke. Young Sonic quickly steps back in fright as the capsule opens and smoke and steam leave out of the capsule.
When the smoke and steam clears, Sonic decides to take a closer look inside the capsule. He gasps in surprise to see a young female hedgehog, around his age, the younger version of Eve. The only difference is that she is wearing a red dress with red, white, and yellow slip on shoes, white gloves, and a blue headband.
Eve (Narrates): And this is when Sonic and I first met.
Young Sonic is surprised and wonders why a young hedgehog girl around his age is inside a capsule. Soon, the young female hedgehog slowly wakes up in her sleep and turns her head to see the young blue hedgehog. The young Eve screams in fright, and speeds out of the capsule and hides behind the tree.
"Wait, don't run away! I won't hurt you!" Young Sonic calls out.
Sonic (Narrates): You were very uneasy when we first met. Luckily, I was able to calm you down.
Young Sonic approaches Young Eve who is hiding behind the tree.
He calmly calls out, "Don't be scared. I won't hurt you."
Young Eve looks out from her hiding place, "Ar-are you sure?"
"Yes. I'm sure. I want to see if you're okay," Young Sonic says.
Young Eve then slowly walks out of her hiding place and walks to Young Sonic.
Young Eve shyly says, "Um thank you."
Then asks, "So um, what's your name?"
"My name is Sonic. What's your name?" Sonic replies.
Young Eve lowers her head and feels a little shy. She then reaches her neck and pulls the gold chain to reveal a gold heart on it. She looks to see a word that says, 'Eve' on it.
She shyly says, "My name is uh, Eve."
"Oh, it's nice to meet you, Eve," Sonic says.
Then asks, "If you don't mind me asking, what are you doing in that weird thing?"
"I'm sorry, I, uh, I'm afraid I don't remember," Young Eve says.
"You don't remember?" Young Sonic says, confused.
"No. I don't remember anything. I don't know what this thing is," Young Eve says.
Then Sonic asks, "Do you have a family?"
"I… I don't remember either. Do you?" Eve replies.
Sonic sadly sighs, "I used to, but my guardian is gone now. I'm… I'm alone too…"
"So we're both alone," Eve sadly says.
Sonic and Eve look at each other with sadness, knowing that they're alone in this world.
Sonic then asks, "Um, Eve, if you want, maybe you and I can be alone together."
Eve shows a small smile and says, "Okay. I think I would like that?"
Sonic and Eve then take each other's hand and begin their life together in the forest of this strange world.
