Sonic and Tails jumped out of the Giant Ring and looked around, "So we're at the ruin." "You're right." They saw the entrance to it, "Let's go." Tails nodded and followed Sonic into the ruin.
Unknown to them, an adventurer is watching them, "I gotta follow them." It smiled and followed Sonic and Tails.
Sonic jumped and used Homing Attack on the robots, while Tails Spin Dash them, "By the way, Tails, can you fly?" Tails think about it, "It's possible, but I will be tired after doing it." "Then try it." Tails nodded. Tails crotched and jumped, let both of the tails spin, "Nice one, little buddy!" Tails sent out a thumbs-up to Sonic.
While flying, Tails saw something by the wall, "There's something over there, Sonic." Sonic saw it in the distance, "I saw it but..." Tails saw what stopped Sonic, "... there's water." "Oh, right. You can't swim." "Wow, a hero who can't swim. That's the first time I heard it." They turned, and who's the one who talked about Sonic's fear.
A female Mobian black and orange badger wearing a brown colored poncho, brown pants, a pair of cloth shoes, black gloves, a necklace with a ring tied to it, and bandages tied her hair into two.
"Who are you exactly?" She smiled, "I'm Sticks the Badger, an adventurer with high spirit." "Then I'm Sonic, and this is my little buddy, Tails." She jumped off the wall and landed beside Sonic, "Why couldn't you swim?" Sonic scratches his head, "I was not teaching right since I don't have any family or relatives." Sticks nodded, "I see, sorry about that."
Sonic looked at Tails, "Tails, think you can carry me?" "Maybe, but I can't hold on forever." Stick hummed for the plan, "I can help you with that." Sonic and Tails were interested in it.
"Ready?" They nodded, "Go!" Sonic jumped, and Tails grabbed Sonic's hands. While Sticks swims to the wall and destroys it, "Hurry!" Tails threw Sonic at Sticks and landed after carrying Sonic, "I'm tired." "Sorry, little bud."
Sticks recognized the Giant Ring, "Guys, we have found the Giant Ring!" "You know about it?" She nodded, "This ring can take you to Special Zone where the Chaos Emeralds are nearby." "I see. By the way, how many did you have?"
She showed them the Yellow with the draw of rock and Cyan with the drawing of ice Chaos Emeralds, "I have two. What about you guys?"
They show her Red and Blue Chaos Emeralds, "Wow, you guys are so lucky! Just three more, and we have all seven!" They quickly put it away, "Ready to get some emeralds?" Sticks and Tails nodded. And they went into the Giant Ring.
Special Zone
They landed and quickly chased the White Chaos Emerald with a drew of wind.
Sonic quickly speeds up while running. Tails fly around to get the emerald quick, and Sticks swing around.
Sonic saw spike balls rolling towards him, and he immediately dodged it by side-step. Sticks saw Sonic dodging the spike balls, 'I'm impressed, Sonic. I'm impressed.' She swings around and nearly catches the emerald until Sonic quickly dashed and catches it.
"Damn you, Sonic!" Sonic chuckled, "Sorry." Tails landed after flying, "Let's go." They nodded, and they left the Special Zone.
West Side Island, Aquatic Ruin Zone

They jumped out of the Giant Ring, and they're still at Aquatic Ruin Zone, "We didn't leave this place." "But hey, at least we're not at the same as the last time." Sonic nodded.
Sticks looked around and found a way, "Let's head down. And Sonic, try not to get sick." Sonic grumbled, and he jumped in anyway.
Sticks and Tails swim around, finding their exit, while Sonic tries to catch with them. Sonic saw a bubble in front of him, and he decided to breathe into it, 'Looks like I got some more air.' Sonic Spin Dash, catching up with Sticks and Tails.
Suddenly the water started to move faster, and they got blown away. While current away, the three saw spikes coming towards them and tried to move away from the spiked wall.
They quickly blew away from the ground and landed, "That was horrifying!" "Wow, you think so?" They turned and saw Eggman there, "I should've known it was you, Eggman!" Sticks immediately laughed at the name, "Stop calling me that you pin cushion!"
Eggman pressed the button, and the totem poles rose from the ground, "Let's see if you can dodge this!" The totem poles shoot arrows at them, but they immediately dodge them. Sonic saw the totem and had an idea. He climbed up with the pointers on the totem and hit Eggman, "Hey, stop that!"
Suddenly Eggman got hit by a boomerang on his head, "Maybe you should retire, baldy!" Sticks catch her boomerang. His face turned red, and he shot more arrows on the opposite side. Sicks jumped away, climbed up, and hit Eggman's head, "Oof!"
"This should do it." Tails Spin Dash at Eggman's aircraft, causing the blew away, "Nooooooo!" They saw Eggman blown away, "Nice one, Tails!" He smiled at Sticks' compliment.
They reached the end of the Aquatic Ruin, "So, are you going somewhere else?" Sonic asked, "Actually, I wanted to come with you guys. It's so much fun than all by myself!" Sonic and Tails smiled on Sticks' energy, "All right, you can come." Tails yawn, signaling them his tired, "Do you know a place we can rest?" Sticks nodded, "Follow me." They follow Sticks to her place.
West Side Island, Night Square

They arrived at the city where it is currently busy, "Do you have a home, Sticks?" "Yeah, it's right over there." They follow Sticks to their home.
Meanwhile, at the Night Law Offices, "So, the man who created the Chemical Plant is Dr. Robotnik?" Sally asked the chief, "Yeah." He brought the files to Sally, "Let's see." Sally looked at his profile and saw how he could create robots, "I guess the people with 400 IQ can create those robots." "Yeah, but he called them Badniks. They seem to be power by Flickies inside."
Sally shrugged it off, "Thanks for the information." "Anytime." She immediately left the office.
"Nicole, how are the others doing?" She asked her, "They seem to be fine. They're actually at Aquatic Ruins to investigate." "I see."
Suddenly, he saw a blue hedgehog Mobian wearing a scarf walking with a black and orange badger Mobian, and a fox Mobian with two tails, "Nicole, can you tell the others keep working on it. I think I just found the Mobian that my dad was talking about."
"All right, I'll tell them, good luck." Sally turned off her communicator and followed them.
"So, Sonic, how did you get that scarf anyway?" Sticks wonder about it, "I got that from... -sigh- Eggman." They're surprised by that, "WAIT, Eggman gave you that scarf?!" Sonic nodded, "He also gave me these gloves and the shoes. He saved me from a mob of townsfolk." Sally listens to the conversation, "He was a good man before all of this?"
"Yeah, before I met you guys. I'd always cause some trouble and get beat up if I didn't forgive for what I have done." Tails felt the same for the bullying he felt, "Then four years ago, I met him. He always says that we helped the people that in need, and I did help everyone." Sticks and Tails smiled at the story that Sonic told.
Sally heard it and saw good-hearted Sonic is, "You always help people, but why didn't you make your name public?" "I wanted to help everyone, but I can't tell anyone who I am. Since I did cause a lot of trouble at the Skyline when I was 11."
They nodded on the explanation. "We're here." They arrived at Sticks' place, which is a tailor shop, "You lived here?" "Yeah, my family sent me here because they business abroad." Sticks open the door.
"Tay, I'm back!" A bear Mobian named Tay came out, "Oh, Sticks, you're back. And I see you have friends." Sonic waved hello, and Tails smiled, "Come on in." They entered the shop and saw how much Tay makes clothes out of cloth, "Can we stay here for the night?" "Of course, anything for a friend."
Tails looked around and saw some clothes, "Do you want to wear something?" Tay asked Tails, "Don't worry. I can make you one." Tails' eyes glowed for the clothes, "Yes, I want one." "Good, follow me." Tails follow Tay to the back.
Sonic saw Tails and Tay head to the back, and he decided to let them be. He walked around and saw a picture of Sticks and her family, "Is this your family?"
Sticks saw it, "Yeah, I wanted to become adventures like them, but I was too young. So, they decide to let me live in Tay's house." "They're friends?" Sticks nodded, "I always lived on this island, explored the ruins, had some fun and helped people."
Sonic is impressed and whistle on Sticks' activities.
Outside, Sally spies on them and sees that they have a conversation, "All right, now's my chance." Just as she headed to the door, Sonic immediately left the store.
Sticks walked outside and saw Sally there, "Is there something you need?" Sally fake cough, "Yeah, I kinda wanted to meet your blue Mobian friend." "Okay, how about you wait here? He should be back for a second." Sally nodded and headed inside.
Sonic runs around, trying to find the smell, "This should be it." He walked around and discovered the smells coming from the stand, "So, that's where the smell came from."
The worker saw Sonic looked at the Hot Dog Stand, "What can I do for you?" "Can I have one of those... 'Chili Dog'?" He nodded, "Coming right up." He assembled the chili dog and gave it to Sonic, "That would be 3 Rings." Sonic nodded and gave the rings to the worker.
He looked at it and sniffed it, "It's smell good. I wonder how it tastes?" He took a bite and found it tasted so good, 'I-It's great!' He quickly finishes it up and burps, "I better head back. They probably waited for me." Sonic quickly heads back to the tailor shop.
A/N: Sticks design is Drawloverlalal's design for Sonic Skyline. Originally, I wanted to Sally met Sonic as a cliffhanger, but that would make this story longer than I think.
