*Hello out there! So I saw Sonic the Hedgehog 2 a while back and loved it! And then I started reading some sonic fanfics and got inspired. So this is the first sonic fanfic I am attempting. Some of you may know my toy story fics, so to switch and try my hand at a different Fandom is both exciting and interesting. So this story will take place six months after sonic two and kind of highlight the family bond of Tom, Maddie and Sonic, but also introduce Tails and Knuckles as his brothers. Do not read if you haven't seen the movies! So with that being said,here we go!*

"Woo hoo! Road trip, baby!" Sonic, a cobalt blue hedgehog, yelled as he raced into the kitchen. His humans, Maddie and Tom Wachowski, had quickly become his foster parents after he arrived last year. They had taken in the young hedgehog and referred to him as their kid. Sonic didn't mind, he was happy to have people looking out for him again. Before, Sonic had lived alone for ten years after losing his guardian, a brave owl by the name of Longclaw. Tom was the first to meet Sonic, protecting him from his first encounter with Dr. Robotnik. Tom took a liking to Sonic immediately despite his obsessive need to ask questions and his sarcastic attitude. Sonic was just a kid and Tom knew he needed someone to look out for him, and he and Maddie were ready to fill the void. Sonic also gained two new friends, an energetic fox named Miles "Tails" Prower, who searched for his hero to warn him about their other newfound friend and former enemy, Knuckles the echidna. Knuckles teamed up with Robotnik to find the master emerald, a precious gem that was protected by Knuckles's tribe, the Echidnas. Robotnik eventually betrayed Knuckles and stole the emerald to take over the world. Joining forces with Tails and Sonic, the three lifeforms defeated Eggman once again and save the world. Since then, Tom and Maddie had also taken in Tails and Knuckles and allowed them to stay together in Sonic's room. Maddie and Tom were happy Sonic had friends now, but after the events of both attacks, they decided Sonic was getting pretty close to the two of them to the point where they actually considered him as their actual son. This trip they were taking with the boys was going to be very special, for they were going to ask Sonic if he wanted to be adopted by them.

"Hey slow down, speed demon. Tom yelled. What have I said about running in the house?"

"I can't help it, donut lord! I'm excited!" Sonic cried. "We are going on vacation!" Knuckles sat at the table and rolled his eyes.

"Are you always this energetic in the morning? He asked. Cause this is going to be a long weekend if your already this annoying."

"Oh don't be a sour puss, Knux. This is gonna be great!"

"Yeah! Tails cried. Camping in the great outdoors, fresh air, I can hardly wait!"

"Hold on, you said we were going on a road trip. You didn't say anything about camping!" Sonic yelled.

"Did I not mention that? Tom said, smirking. I swear I said that."

"Oh, not cool donut lord! Not cool at all."

"Relax, Sonic. Maddie said. You guys needed a break. You've been fighting bad guys for the past two weeks. Plus, this will give you time to bond, get to know each other more."

"Six months is a pretty good amount of time, I say." Knuckles said.

"I don't know, I'm still trying to figure you out. Sonic said. Your so serious all the time, you act like your the boss, and your always running off to who knows where."

"For your information, hedgehog, I run off to make sure the master emerald is still intact, in a location that you don't need to know about. And I am serious all the time because I'm the oldest and it is my job to make sure you don't mess things up!"

"Such little faith in me, you have. I don't always mess up." Sonic said as he hit into the table, knocking over a bowl of apples.

"And yet you always seem to make a mess wherever you go." Sonic growled at him and took the plate of food from Maddie and sat down.

"Those two are becoming more like family every day." Maddie said, looking at Tom.

"I wouldn't be surprised if they became brothers after this trip. Tom said. Tails and Sonic are already treating each other like brothers." And that was a fact. Sonic had taken on the role of big brother to Tails and Tails was happy, since he looked up to Sonic. Tom looked down at his wife.

"Did you pack the documents?"

"They are in my overnight bag. How do you think he'll react?" They both looked at the blue teenager shoveling sausage links in his mouth.

"I'm sure he'll be happy, though be prepared for if he faints. He almost did when we told him we loved him." Maddie laughed lightly.

"Never expected our first child to be a cobalt blue alien hedgehog." She hugged her husband. "But I wouldn't have it any other way." They kissed, but stopped when they heard gagging.

"Oh, gross. Guys, no PDA, please." Sonic cried. The two humans chuckled. Tom clapped his hands together.

"Alright, let finish up, clean up, and load the car. Let's go, let's go, let's go!" Tom said.
