This is a sequel fic for Submit to Your New Fire Lord. It will not make sense if you don't read that first! This fic explores an ascendant Emperor Zuko fifteen years after the establishment of his successful, world-spanning Phoenix Empire/Empire of the Sun. WARNING: Mature Themes Abound!

Instead of Momo freeing her from the tree after she stole the water bending scroll, Zuko manages to take Katara back to his ship as bait for the Avatar. Their hatred lessens as they learn about each other and Zuko realizes just what the Fire Nation has done.

Zuko succeeds in capturing the Avatar. Yes! His life's goal has been accomplished! But what seems like a blessing may really be a curse. Now that he has no Avatar to chase, Zuko can't keep running from his past, or from a certain someone who refuses to be forgotten...

The world has fallen to the might of the Fire Nation. The Earth Kingdom surrenders after their Northern Territory is burnt by Ozai. The Northern Water Tribe surrenders in fear of similar retaliation. But even as the Emperor of the Phoenix Empire, Ozai's ambition extends beyond even his own world. I don't own the Avatar Universe or anything in it.
