Alison woke up to the feeling of a warm body beside her. She stayed in the same position for a moment with her eyes closed. Her head was spinning from the alcohol she had the night before. Slowly opening her eyes, it took her a second to recall where she was. She looked to her left side at the dirty brunette still sleeping. Replacing the girl's hair behind her ear, she smiled as she remembered how the girl made her scream her name. How the girl made her feel alive again. Rolling to her side to face Abby, she watched her sleep. Lazily, the brunette opened her eyes, "hi". "Hi", Alison softly replied. Looking into each other's eyes, they rested silently for a while. Taking her time to observe Abby's eyes, Alison swore she could look into them endlessly. She wanted to see her blue eyes full of lust again - for a moment, she wanted to be all those eyes could see.
"What are you doing?" the brunette questioned softly.
"Just admiring the view", Alison replied tenderly.
Abby leaned to brush her lips with Alison's, slowly deepening the kiss. Tearing her mouth from Alison's lips, her hand caressed her body, trailering kisses down the neck and the chest of the blonde's body. Alison let own a quiet moan, wanting more. At the same time, Aria came barging at the door, "it is time to get up sleepy head".
Abby groaned and rolled away from Alison's body. "Are they always like that?", she said playfully.
"Oh, they can be way more intrusive don't worry about that", Alison replied laughing. Getting out of bed, she began to dress. Taking a shirt that was laying on the ground, she looked over her shoulder at the brunette who was still naked in bed. "Do you want to stay for breakfast?", she asked.
"I'm afraid not. It's Friday morning and work is waiting for me", Abby replied with false joy. She got out of bed and searched for her clothes. All she found, was her panties and her bra. She giggled, "walking out of your bedroom is going to be my walk of shame".
Alison looked at Abby, realizing her clothes were in the kitchen. "Do you want me to go get your clothes? They must be in the kitchen somewhere", Alison questioned smiling.
"No need, I'll come with you. Let your friends enjoy the view", Abby answered with a smile, joking.
Alison laughed. "Okay, follow me".
Walking toward the kitchen, Abby sighed. Thankfully, they hadn't bumped into one of Alison's friends. Slowly entering the kitchen, Alison jumped noticing Hanna leaning over the counter with a cup of coffee in her hand. Following Alison, Abby entered. Hanna stared at the two for a moment, raising her eyebrows.
"So", she said, before taking a sip of her coffee, "From what we heard, I bet the sex was amazing".
Abby looked at Hanna, in shock, not expecting Alison's friend to be so open. Alison looked at her friend with a pleading look, not wanting Hanna to embarrass the girl. Indifferent, Hanna smirked.
Putting her coffee cup to her mouth, Hanna looked at Abby and winked. "I bet you two naughty girls have been scissoring", she joked, earning a glare from the blonde. Alison shook her head. Her friend always said the first thing that was on her mind.
"What?" Hanna said, raising her eyebrows innocently. "All I'm saying is that she clearly had fun with you, blondie". Hanna paused and smirked, looking over Abby. "Look at her, she's almost naked".
"Hanna!", Alison shouted, looking at her friend angrily.
"I'll just – I…", Abby sputtered, pointing the door. She quickly pulled on her clothes and continued, "I'll go, I don't want to be late to work". Alison walked her to the door and Abby dropped a kiss on her cheek.
Closing the door behind Abby, Alison turned around, looking at Hanna furiously. "What the hell was that?!"
"I don't know what you are talking about", Hanna innocently replied, "I was just mentioning facts".
Alison walked toward her friend, stopping in front of her as she crossed her arms. "Come on Han, it was rude".
"Calm down Ali, it was just a joke. You won't see the girl again anyway".
Alison tilted her head and smiled. "Hanna Marin, are you jealous?"
Hanna laughed, playing the game. "It's just that I want to see you naked so bad"
Alison chuckled, "I knew it".
Clearing her throat, Spencer made the two girls jump. They looked around, to see their friend standing in the hallway, confused. "I don't even want to know what this was about". At the same time, Aria, Emily, and Ophelia came in.
"There you are", Aria said to Alison. She paused, feeling the tension. "Is everything all right?"
"Yeah", Hanna replied, looking in Alison's direction. "Ali was telling me about the hot night she had".
Alison's eyes rested on Emily, "yeah…"
Observing Emily's eyes, Alison had to force herself not to surge over the other girl. Emily felt her body tense as she held the blonde's glare. Her mind was going crazy. Thinking of Alison with someone was painful but now, her heart was in her throat. Her stomach was upside down. The two women stood in silence, their eyes locked on each other across the room, momentarily forgetting that they weren't alone. Emily's emotions were rushing, pleading to come out. Her eyes searched in Alison's as if she was looking for something. She searched for familiarities and for things she ignored. Staring into the other women's eyes, she remembered how it used to be, how despite everything, she was still not over her. At that exact moment, Emily knew that no matter how hard she tried to stay away from Alison, she would somehow, always be hers.
Hanna, Spencer, Aria and Ophelia looked over the girls curiously, trying to comprehend the situation they were witnessing. "Okay, this is it!", Ophelia shouted, clearing the tension that had taken over the room. All eyes turned toward the voice. Looking at her girlfriend, guilt fled across Emily's body. She knew her partner was pissed, but she couldn't help herself to be mesmerized by Alison. The blonde just had that effect on her. "I'm not supporting this anymore", Ophelia continued, furious. "I won't act like all of this is nothing"
"Ophe-", Emily tried to speak.
"No, you shut up", Ophelia countered, "let me talk." She pointed in Alison's direction. "Ever since we came here, you only had eyes for her."
"Ophe, we should talk about this somewhere else", Emily returned.
"No Em – quit it.", Ophelia answered exasperatedly, "you don't get to speak right now". Emily sighed as she resigned, causing Spencer and Aria to give her an interrogative look.
"Come on Ophelia, Em just wants to understand what is going on", Alison interrupted, triggering the blonde.
"You don't get to speak either", Ophelia harshly replied, looking in Alison's direction. "All of this is, is because of your cock-teasing attitude!"
"What did you just say to me?", Alison answered in a bitchy tone, trying to repress the urge to rip Ophelia's head off.
"I said that you were a tease, a fucking sexpot", Ophelia paused, "you're pathetic, just leave Emily alone".
"I don't even know what you are talking about, you're hallucinating things", Alison replied, annoyed.
"You sure about that? That's not what I heard last night when you were screaming Emily's name while you had another girl between your legs", Ophelia muttered in a hussy tone.
Alison's eyes widen, processing what her opponent had just said. Before she could reply, her hand instinctively flew, firmly smashing Ophelia's cheek. Ophelia's eyes glared dangerously as all rationality left her body. She jumped on Alison, grabbing her hair, and rolling the girl's head back, "fucking cunt!" Alison tripped back, falling heavily on the ground with Ophelia above her. As Emily's girlfriend began to strike the blonde, Alison managed to batter back. Dodging some hit, she rapidly reciprocated, vigorously punching the girl on her jaw, earning a yelp. Astonished, Ophelia paused for a moment and shook her head. Taking advantage of it, Alison rolled them over, pinning the girl's head to the ground. "Touch me again and I'll knock you out, bitch!"
Half stupefied and half amazed by the chaos in front of them, it took a moment for the girls to react. Coming back to reality, Spencer and Aria briskly rushed at Alison while Emily and Hanna grabbed Ophelia, pulling the girls away from each other. While Ophelia was still shouting injuries at Alison, Emily tried to wrap her arms around her girlfriend, but the blonde quickly pushed her back, "don't touch me!". Emily made a few steps back, putting distance between them. Ophelia furiously exited the kitchen, making her way to her bedroom. Emily looked over her shoulder at her friends with incredulous eyes and followed the blonde.
Entering the bedroom, Emily closed the door to make sure no one would hear their conversation. Ophelia was grabbing her clothes from the wardrobe.
Approaching the blonde, Emily breathed out heavily trying to release the tension in her body. "Look, I don't know what happened back there -", she said calmly before being cut by Ophelia.
"Don't be a fool Em, you know damn well what happened back there", interrupted Ophelia as she quickly put the clothes in her bags.
Emily reached for a bag, pulling it away from the blonde. "What are you doing?"
"I'm done Em, I can't do this anymore, I'm sorry. This… This situation… everything… it's just too much, I can't handle it.", Ophelia answered.
"Come on, it's not a big deal babe, let's just talk about it, please", Emily replied, insisting.
"There is nothing to talk about Em, you chose her the second you saw her. The way you look at her… You never looked at me that way", Ophelia returned sharply. She made a few steps in Emily's direction, reaching for the bag in her hands. "Look, I can't pretend like all of this is nothing", she continued more softly.
"There is nothing between me and Alison Ophe, I swear", Emily repeated.
"If there is nothing between you, why have you never talked about her? The limited things I knew about her came from Hanna. You never mentioned her existence but somehow, the second I saw her look at you, I knew there was something or had been something… I had a gut feeling about this", Ophelia said regrettably.
Emily felt the tears welling up and before long, she couldn't stop herself. "What does this mean for us?" she asked sadly.
"I don't know for now, but I think we both need some time on our own," Ophelia answered, murmuring.
Still in the kitchen, the other girls were trying to understand what had happened. Emily and Ophelia were still in their room and Alison figured they must have talked about the incident by now. The blonde was brought back to reality by her friend's voice. "So, is it true you moaned Emily's name last night?" Hanna said to Alison with a smirk, trying to ease the tension. Earning a disapproval glare from Spencer and Aria, she stopped for a moment.
"Anyways, it was wild of you to slap that bitch. Seriously, I was rooting for you all the way", Hanna continued, not impressed by her friend's looks.
Spencer laughed. "Yeah, I have to admit it was impressive", she quickly added.
"Where did you learn to punch like that?" Aria joined.
Alison shook her head. She was feeling bad for slapping the girl, but Ophelia really hit a nerve with her comments - she had it coming. "I don't know, I just lost it when she began talking to me like I was some dirty whore". She touched her left shoulder with her right hand, already feeling a small bump. "Ouch".
"Are you okay?" Aria carefully asked.
"Yes, I'm fine. I think I will have an impressive bruise tomorrow", Alison replied laughing.
Emily and Ophelia walked into the kitchen at the same moment, passing beside Alison. Noticing redness on Ophelia's jaw, Hanna walked closer to Alison, leaning over her ear. "I think you ruined her editorial career for a while", she whispered, "she deserved it". Alison rolled her eyes, giving a small nudge at her friend, before she murmured back, "stop, you're making it worse". Hanna internally laughed at Alison's comment. Alison had told her the same thing Emily did a couple of days ago. Hanna stepped back to stand between her friends. In silence, the girls watched Emily walk Ophelia to the door. Emily gave Ophelia a quick hug before handing her keys. Both girls exited the house, closing the door behind them. Watching the two girls leave, Alison began to feel anxious at the thought of Emily walking out of her life again. She kept her eyes on the door until it opened. Emily walked back into the house looking miserable. At the sight of her friend, Alison couldn't help herself but think it was her fault. Even if it pained her, she knew she had no right to put Emily's relationship on the line as she did. What was she thinking to slap Ophelia? She wasn't that Alison anymore. Anyhow, letting her inner bitch out to play had felt amazing.
Walking closer to her friends, Emily ran a hand through her hair. Ophelia and she had agreed to spend some time apart, but Emily was gallant and so, she had proposed to Ophelia to stay in their apartment. Moreover, she gave her car keys to Ophelia. Now, she had to find a way to ask her friends for a place to sleep, since she was homeless and car-less. By chance, Hanna lived in L.A. too. Seeing the interrogative look on her friend's face, Hanna stepped forward to hug Emily.
"Are you okay?", she asked.
"Yeah, I will be", Emily paused. "Can I ask you something?"
Hanna pulled back to look into her friend's eyes. "Yes of course, what's wrong?"
"Do you mind if I stay at yours for a while? Ophelia and I have agreed to spend some time apart and she will be living in the apartment so…", Emily carefully demanded. Hanna stayed quiet for a while and Emily began to feel like a moron for imposing herself on her friend.
"I would totally say yes but Caleb and I won't be in town next week and we decide to Airbnb our house", Hanna replied, feeling culpable.
Alison and Spencer looked over at Hanna. "You rent your house when you're not in town?" Spencer asked with a judgmental tone.
"What?", Hanna replied as she shrugged, "a girl's gotta do what a girl gotta do". She paused for a second and continued, "Alison lives in L.A. too, you know".
Emily turned her head to look at Alison, raising her eyebrows. "I didn't know that you did", she answered, surprised.
"Well, my house isn't as glamourous as Hanna's but there is a spare bedroom if you would like", Alison commented.
"Yeah, as long as it's fine with you", Emily replied. She knew this situation would be awkward.
Alison smiled, and locked her eyes in Emily's, "it's decided then!"
"Can we go eat our breakfast now? We have been in this kitchen for ages!", Aria commented. The girl wasn't wrong, it was already almost noon.
Aria, Spencer and Alison exited the kitchen to go on the patio, where the fruits plates were still resting.
Emily began to walk behind her friends, but Hanna quickly pulled her back by the arms. She still had a question on her mind. "Is it true Alison moaned your name last night?", she asked tentatively. "That is none of your business Hanna", Emily replied laughing.
