CHAPTER 3- WILDEST DREAM

Those we love never truly leave us. There are things that death cannot touch. But no matter how hard we kept it distance, the day will comes.

'Ringgg,,,' ~ "Alarm: Jay's Medicine"

It's time for you to wake up, Will
It's 3am, in the dark morning. Will get himself a small stretch, just a few of rest. The truly is, to give jay rest more than he need. Will turn to his side, to carefully watch Jay. He was deep asleep on his emotional body. He went through a lot. Will just want a wish, hope they would listen to any good updates from Jay's colleagues. He makes himself excuse to the kitchen. He prepared for Jay's Med. Some Tylenol, Nyquil, and Vitamin C. This is not Jay's favourite, but he had to. Suddenly, he received a messages from Voight.

"It's about Mouse. He...didn't Make it...Will be home in this Friday.. How's Halstead?"

Will Speechless. He don't know how to react. It might be really complicated. How should he informs Jay? Is this for real? Does he really can bring this along? Or...what he should do? Can he manage Jay? What else...

"Really...I'm sorry to hear it. Will inform this to him. Jay..he's having a mild fever since I brought him home. Still in monitoring his temperature. Thanks Voight."

To be honest, he don't know what else he should do now.. He pickup all the medicine, put in on the tray, and bring it to Jays room. Will seat in between Jay's hip, turning back. He waking jay's up.

"Jay...buddy.."
"What..."
"Wake up..."
"sleep..."
"Come on bud, after this.. take a med first.."
"no..."
"Jay... hey..."
"Whatt.."
"Wake up...

Fine.. Jay wakes up in an angry groan. He don't wanna be disturb. He just want to forget everything just happen. For him, it just a dreaming. Yes, he might be dreaming. Will give him all the pill he need, and he swallow it. Will take the ear thermometer, and press it to Jay's ear.

"What is that.."
"I want to check on your temperature..."
"Im okay...leave it.."
"You feel warm, Jay.."
"Don't start, Will.."
"What? I'm just saying it, Jay..."
"No..don't do anything... I wanna sleep.."

Will really don't know how he wants to make Jays to listen to him. Jay grabbed his comforter and pull it up to his neck. Continuing to sleep, decide to ignore his brother wish. Will not have a chance to tell Jay's the true about Mouse's death. He know how Jay could react. The fever reducers make Jay groggy, and sleep. He could see his feverish cheeks. Will decide to leave him be, and he's gonna check on him later. So he grab everything and goes back to the kitchen.

With Jay's tantrum things, stubborn things, cranky things, and Will need to coax him every time he need to take his med. He really need to get himself ready for this, even though he know how could handle Jay, but sometimes he can also be lost. He make him a way to couch, having some more relax, and decide to calling Natalie since she just start her shift.

"Hey babe..."
"Hye Nat.."
"How's you? Jay?"
"I'm good... Jay...seems he having some mild fever things.."
"Really... hope u can handle it. Need me, anytime. Just call me...oh btw, How's Jay's friend?"
"He...Mouse..Mouse he...didn't make it..will be home in this Friday.."
"Will...love, sorry to hear that..Did Jay already know?"
"Nope...didn't have a chance.. to..you know.."

Just half an hour Will leave Jay in his bedroom, suddenly Will heard a 'Mousee!' screaming coming from Jay's bed. Will run to Jay's bed and see that Jay having a nightmare. Will know that if Jay's temperature seems high, he will have this Nightmare. He get to hold Jay's arm, knowing that Jay will easily broke his nose when he's having that episode. Will grabbed his arm, and start listen to his nightmare. The things is, Will can hear Jay screaming Mouse named. "Noooo MOUSEEE! DON'T LEAVE ME!"

"Jayyy! wake up! snap out from it"
"Noo...Mouse!"

After 10 mins, Jay finally get back from his entire life. With a lot of sweat covered on his shirt. Will hugged him tight as Jay starts to let out a cried. Will grab the thermometer, this time, Will lift his shirt up, and snap that in Jay's armpit. Will rubbing his head, his back, that could comforting him. The beeps make Jay give a small movement. It's 102.3

"Jay...you're okay..It's okay bud.. I got u.."
"Will..Mouse appeared. He said a...good...bye at me..."
"Shhh.. It's okay... U're okay bud, Im here.."
'He didn't leave me, right?"
"Jay... Voight call me..come"

Will brought Jay in his lap..he starts to rubbing Jay's back, and he starts on a word.

"What was that Will? Did Mouse..make it?"
"No...no Jay...Mouse...didn't make it...I'm sorry Jay.."
"Nooooo! YOU LIED!"
"Hey.. I'm not lying. He will be home this Friday.."
"NO! WILLL! THAT CAN'T HAPPEN NOW!"

That's actually things that been happened now. Jay throws a more tantrum, he kicking the comforter, screaming Mouse name and saying 'why Mouse? He kept me alive, he promised me to live well' but suddenly he's having some more panic right now...

"Jayy...Calm down Jayyy...u can't be like this..."
"Whyyyy...He's the one who's protect me! He decide to go there when I'm said I'm going to meet him there, to him! But I not completing my wishes to him! I...I...I decide to see him soon! Whyyyy Will Whyyyy!"
"Hey.. Jay ! YOU NEED TO GET YOURSELF TOGETHER !"
"Mouse... Noooo..."
"No way... I'm calling Ethan"

He can't handle this by himself. Jay could be the more dangerous towards himself. He send a text to Ethan, and Ethan decide to come to their house. Jay, he let a breakdown control him. Will could see the tense on his body and muscle. Will grabbed a swing Jay, and tied him in Will's lap. He feels his Forehead. Yes, He's burning up. Really make himself in a hard way.

Will heard his apartment's bell been rang. He know that is Ethan, and yes, he open up for him. Ethan already bring his medical bag.

"What happened Will?"
"He's breakdown. Mouse, dead"
"I'm sorry to hear, Will.."
"Yeahh... He can't control himself, I don't know how to calm him down anymore.."
"Some Morphine could help.. how's his temperature?"
"A bit high...almost 103"
"Come.. bring him up.."

Jay a bit lost. Will know Jay don't have used right now.. He hug Jay, and Let Ethan check him a bit. His pulse, beating so rapidly. He decide to give 2mg Morphine to Jay.. In the meantime, Jay was tired on fighting himself. He let everything gone. He fell in Will's chest. Not really have the energy to fight, and really exhausted.

"Okay..I'll give him 2mg of Morphine.."
"No drug..please...Will..."
"Just leave him be, Ethan..push that"
"Noooo.."
"Hey...HEY JAYY! LISTEN TO ME.."
"wha..t,.."
"Let Ethan do whatever he needs to..I'm here, not going anywhere.."
"Will...you not understand me, too.."
"Heyy...I got u.."
"Please...Jay.. just a lil bit of rest..would you?"
"No.."
"Ethan...do it.."

By the time, Ethan already bring the syringe with 2mg of Morphine and Will grab Jay's arm, and he hold his shoulder. Ethan push that liquid into his skin and receive a small 'Ow...hurtt' from him.

"This should be working by anytime soon. Will..I really hope that u could bring him in"
"I'm planning too. But, yeah.. just give him some more relax.."
"Jay...you alrighty buddy?"

No answer

"Jay?"
"He's out..."
"Let him rest a bit. I will brings him to the car.. "
"Sure.."
"I got u bud...u gonna be okay.."

Ethan pressed his hand into Jay's forehead, then he lift Jay shirt to feels his back.. Really hot, he's burning up. That's why he throw a fit, a tantrum

"He's burning up...when the last time he take the med?'
"1 to 2 hour a go"
"Bring him in, I will set him up some fluid on him.. probably the Antibiotic, and some Ibuprofen fluid on him. He's really dehydrated. Are you guys eat?
"Yup... I'm already eat.. He just take a few sip.."

Until Jay becomes more restless, more whining on his 'not so sleep' mood, Will change his clothes to a light shirt, and sweatpants on him, and Ethan comes to help his friend through the apartment. Will know, Jay could be more harm than good at himself, so this is just some more precaution to himself and them. Thanks God, Ethan helping him to brought Jay to the car. Will brings together Jay's hoodie, since he know Jay would simply get cold.

Will couldn't drive, since Jay rest his head on his lap, so Ethan decide to drive. Arriving 15 minutes later in Med, Ethan going out alone first, not to make Jay's shocked. He could throwing more tantrum. Then, he makes a clear to Will to bring Jay's in. This is not helping anything. Will just grabbed jay's body and bring him in. He can't waking Jay's up. To be sure, He would freak out. By the time they brought Jay's in, He's acting like 5 Years Old kid. Will put him down at the bed and Jay not move in any bit. 2 mg such a helper to them. Maggie was there, already set him on his vital, oximeters in his finger, and Ethan was ready to order an IV..

Not knowing suddenly Jay plan's to wake up, this could be the start up to fighting shoot. But this time though, he wake up with the whining sound. Ethan ordered and Ibuprofen Fluid, and some more fever reducer to treat him. This time around too, Will just leave him behind and talk to Natalie. Jay can see, Will outside the door. He with his no energy condition, can't protest anymore, can't say anythings more than leave a groan,moan, and cried out.

"Maybe you should call Lindsay. If she can come here, he could be more grateful."
"Ethan's out"
"So...He's fever was so high, 104 when we got him here. Because of that, he didn't protest on anything..."
"Even a flinch of needle?"
"Yup... he's resting now..."
"Thanks Ethan, Nat, got to see him first"
"Sure..."

He comes back to Jay's room, and he looks at his baby brother. He was not really sleeping, but he let out a silent cried. He really need some strongest inside his weak body. He called over Will, that's mean he's really out of himself.

"Will..."
"Yes bud, I'm here..."
"Why Mouse left?..."
"He's not leaving you, He will always be in your heart, right?"
"No...he just left me...why must him, Will...The last time I spoke to him is, a fight...I'm no longer used to him Will..same as what dad said to me... I'm not the only one that could make him proud.. I'm not the son who..."
"Hey..hey Jay...shhusshh..I got you buddy...It's okay...U're fine.."

Again, a bunch of tears just slippery out from his eyes. He know, that seems like Jay was can't handle it anymore. But the med just starts to kicked in.. Jay lean his head down against Will's chest.. Will pressed a hand on his forehead..'still feel warm', So, he decide to tuck Jays head properly in the pillow, and snapped just a lil bit out.

"Hey, listen..You sleep here, don't try to dragged that IV out..Im just here, okay?
"No Will...stay here.."
"Hey...Im just at the nurses counter, gonna make a phone call.."
"Nooo...Here...Will..."

He let a sob out, Will really can see, this is 5 years old Jay Halstead. Crying, and keep crying. Jay hugged Will, and yes..Will stay awhile until the med make their works. He knows Jay already tried to fight into his emotional things, but he also know, this is not working since he fight this alone. Will decide when Jay's out, he make a phone call to Lindsay..

"Lindsay.."
"Hey, this is me, Will.."
"Yes, Will..what's up"
"Are you heard about Mouse?"
"Yes...just heard about it..Sorry for the lost"
"Hey Thanks..so...Jay.."
"Yeahh, how's he?"
"He's end up at Med..I brought him in"
"Oh Jay.. What happened?"
"Throw a fit, tantrum, don't wanna eat anything, and just having a mild fever. Until I manage to bring him here, he having a high fever. Ethan already gives him some fluid to reduces the fever. Now, he just sleep. He went through a lot. Like hell...He can't even control himself..."
"Sounds horrible..my poor baby..."
"So.. Can you manage to come here? For him? Mouse would be home this Friday"
"Of course.. we will be there for Jay...sure.. I bought a night flight ticket.. will be there maybe on 10.00am tomorrow..is that okay?"
"Sure.. very okay...seems i need to keep him until he was really stable and we can take him home.. I know, if I keep him here, he wouldn't get the fully rest"
"That's sucks. He hate that"
"Probably..I manage to coax and dragged him here.."
"Wow...you did it alone?"
"Nope...with Ethan... "
"Sounds hard... he make something crazy?"
"Breakdown...can't control himself, again..."
"Hey...u looks so tired. Why not, U rest? I would see you tomorrow..."
"Yeahh.."
"The Halstead things, really stubborn and love to making hard on themselves..."
"Haha..u know that... alright, see you tomorrow..."

End called. Will coming inside Jay's room. When he come in, the beeping alarm chirping. He straightly to Jay's. He touch his forehead, yes still warm. But the fluid is just about to finish..

"Will..."
"Hey Jay...what's wrong.."
"Hurt..."
"What's hurt?"
"Head... arm..."
"No..don't take that out..just let them be.."

Will click the button and the nurses just come in. He ordered a Tylenol. He know, how hard he keep on crying, it will overcome to his Migraine. But Jay, don't wanna take any drug anymore. Even though, it make him in the good way. So, Will just ordered that Tylenol and ask Jay to swallow it. His fluid is already finish about 15 mins. The nurses take the IV out from the location. Whining some 'Ow' thing, Will rubbed his shoulder... Jay want to sleep some more, so Will tucked again him in the bed, and give him some cold blanket.

Ethan just coming to check on both of them.

"How are you, Will?"
"I'm not the one.."
"Will..."
"Yeah..I'm good.."
"Really look so exhausted..huh"
"Yeah some kind of"
"You should rest...U ordered Tylenol?"
"Yup, for Jay...his having the migraine things. probably because of the cried out"
"Alright...will give some more prescription on that... For now, let's just monitored him here. You should go and take the sleep Dr. Halstead...Go...Doctor lounge more cormfotable"
"No...who's gonna watch him?"
"Maggie's here!"
"Heyy...there you go.."
"Go, Will... I will covered him for you.. Some Nurses things that only can do , not doctor can do this is to make our patient calm.."
"Wow...haha amazing...call me if you need me. Or, He need me.."
"Yeah, bet me. His first things confirm wants to sees you..."
"Oh yah..he's having a nightmare since his fever was a bit high...watch that also, don't go. near him. Just keep calling his name..or maybe, Just call me.."
"YES, DR. HALSTEAD. Now, go sleep!"
"Hey... I'm also can watch him...don't worry"
"Thanks Nat!"

Will just stood out from Jays room. Finally, he can manage to sleep.. Not so long, I guess..

"THE MOST PAINFUL TEARS WE CRIED, WERE THE TEARS WE CRIED IN SILENCE... "
