I know, I know, many of you were disappointed when I deleted my son of Dante and Artemis series, I know. But I had a reason for deleting it. Merely because it just... felt like a mess to me. Like, I'm not kidding, all three stories just felt like a mess.
But I have decided to bring it back since I know it was a big fan-favourite, and I have changed the OC's name to Damian Redgrave. The pairing will also still be the same, which is OC/Silena/Thalia/Zoe. If you don't like that, then stop reading and go find something else to read and don't bother me about it. Romance stuff won't even begin until Sea of Monsters, this story will develop Damian's relationship with Silena first.
I was originally going to make the OC the son of Dante and Hestia... but I think most of you would want Artemis as the mother, so I picked her, and that was the original basis of the original series.
Like before, The Lighting Thief takes place at the same time as DMC 4. DMC's timeline is very... complicated when you try to figure out how many years pass between the games.
Disclaimer: I do not own Devil May Cry or Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I only own the OC Damian Redgrave.
Damian Redgrave was a seemingly normal 14-year old boy, even if his silver eyes were an odd sight along with his slicked back white hair, but other than that he still looked like your average, everyday 14-year old boy.
However, that's not actually the case.
Damian was actually part demon, well the son of a half-demon named Dante, who was the son of a powerful demon father and a human mother. Dante was the son of the legendary Dark Knight Sparda, a powerful demon that woke up to justice thousands of years ago and turned against his demon brethren for the sake of mankind. Sparda's act became a legendary moment, one told throughout time, and Sparda became hated by demons and hunted by them, especially those under the command of the former Demon King Mundus. Sparda used a powerful sword named the Yamato to separate the human world from the demon's, at the cost of his demonic power.
During Sparda's time in the human world, he met and fell in love with a human woman named Eva and they had two children, twin boys, Dante and Vergil. But years ago, Sparda left on a mission and never returned. His home was then attacked, causing the loss of Eva, the disappearance of Vergil, with Dante being the only one hidden from the demons, thus began Dante's hatred for demons and his life as a demon hunter.
And Damian was Dante's son, the grandson of the Dark Knight, the nephew of Vergil.
However, Damian didn't know who his mother was, he hadn't even met her. Damian had asked his father about her at a young age and Dante told him that his other had to go away due to... family issues on her side, but Dante made it very clear that she loved Damian so much that she refused to hand Damian over to Dante when he was born.
Aside from that, Dante trained Damian to be a Demon Hunter, in the hopes that he'll carry on the family business when Dante retires or he gets 'offed by some lucky demon who will then be unlucky because it'll be killed off by Damian, Trish or Lady later.'
Dante's words, not Damian's.
Damian attended Yancy Academy with his only friends Percy Jackson and Grover Underwood. Percy was twelve and had black hair and sea green eyes. He was a little shorter than most. Damian and Percy became quick friends since they didn't really like school that much.
Then there was Grover Underwood, who Damian had to admit did not look like a twelve year old. He looked the same age as him but Grover just said he had trouble in school and was redoing seventh grade. Damian didn't think much of it so he just shrugged it off. Grover had Caucasian skin colour with curly short curly brown hair and brown eyes. But unfortunately his legs were crippled when he was little so he had to have crutches to help him walk. Yet that never stopped him when Enchilada day came at the school cafeteria. He could not move any quicker.
Not only that, but Damian, who had senses far more heightened than normal humans, most likely because of him being somewhat a demon, he learned that Grover smelled kinda like a goat while Percy smelled like the sea. it was odd but he just brushed it off.
But the three became good friends and since they shared a dorm room together, the three were pretty much inseparable. Damian told them a bit of his past, his family life, save the fact his father was the son of a demon and hunted demons. He just said his father worked to get by for them but he was a great guy, then Damian mentioned never meeting his mother. At Christmas, Percy invited Damian to his house.
Damian was quick to make friends with Percy's mom, Sally Jackson, and she was delighted to see Percy finally make a friend. Though Percy's step father, Gabe Ugliano, was not too happy about it, saying they should not waste money on the punk. But Damian paid for his stuff and didn't spend any of the Jackson's money much to Gabe's delight.
Though when Percy asked Grover he just said he already had plans and would see them after Christmas break. They didn't hear from him at all during the break until they returned to Yancy Academy.
Right now, they were on a school trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to look at ancient Greek and Roman stuff. The class was led their Latin teacher, Mr. Brunner. Mr Brunner was a middle aged man with scraggy thinning brown hair and beard and was confined to a wheel chair and always wore a tweed jacket.
He rode up front in his wheelchair, guiding class through the huge galleries, past marble statues and glass cases full of antique, black-and-orange pottery. As Mr. Brunner kept explaining the history of all the things around them, Damian noticed as Miss. Dodds, the substitute pre-algebra teacher, glared at Percy. He also noticed a strange smell around her, and it wasn't human.
Damian was dressed in a faded black, 3/4-length, hooded leather coat with red interior linings and the British Union flag sewn on the left arm, a gray tank top, black fingerless gloves, black faded jeans and black military boots.
'Looks like I'll have to keep an eye out for any trouble if she's not human and some demon.' Damian thought to himself.
Mrs. Dodds was this little math teacher from Georgia who always wore a black leather jacket, even though she was fifty years old. She looked mean enough to ride a Harley right into your locker. She had come to Yancy halfway through the year, when the last math teacher had a nervous breakdown.
From her first day, Mrs. Dodds loved Nancy Bobofit and figured Percy was devil spawn.
Anyways, besides the usual glare from her, Mr. Brunner stopped at a 13 ft. stele, which also showed a carving of a girl their age. Mr. Brunner began to explain what the carvings on the sides meant and actually managed to interest both Damian and Percy, but yet everyone else around them was talking and having their own conversations. However when Nancy Bobofit snickered about 'the statues being naked', Percy blew up and shouted at the rude girl. Of course this caught everyone's attention as well as Mr. Brunner's.
The whole group laughed. Mr. Brunner stopped his story.
"Mr. Jackson," he said, "did you have a comment?"
Percy's face was totally red. He said, "No, sir." other snickered at him but shut up when Damian turned to give them a glare. His dad always said he got his mother's glare that could frighten even demons into running in terror.
Mr. Brunner pointed to one of the pictures on the stele. "Perhaps you'll tell us what this picture represents?"
Damian looked to see it was the picture of Kronos, the Titan king and father of the original six Olympians, swallowing his children, well five of his children since Rhea made sure Zeus didn't suffer the same fate as his brothers and sisters.
And Damian thought demons had issues, but Kronos just takes the cake if he swallows his own kids just because of paranoid fear his kids would overthrow him, but that happened either way.
"Um" Percy said starting off before getting a bit of confidence once he recognized the pictures. "That's Kronos eating his kids."
"Yes," Mr. Brunner said, obviously not satisfied. "And he did this because ..."
"Well..." Percy racked his brain to remember. "Kronos was the king god, and—"
"God?" Mr. Brunner asked.
"Titan," Percy corrected himself. "And ... he didn't trust his kids, who were the gods. So, um, Kronos ate them, right? But his wife hid baby Zeus, and gave Kronos a rock to eat instead. And later, when Zeus grew up, he tricked his dad, Kronos, into barfing up his brothers and sisters—"
"Eeew!" said one of the girls behind Percy and Damian, the son of Dante rolling his eyes.
"—and so there was this big fight between the gods and the Titans," Percy continued, "and the gods won."
Mr. Brunner nodded. "That's correct! Then the world became ruled by the Twelve Olympians gods, with the most powerful being the three brothers Zeus, Poseidon and Hades," he said pointing towards three small figures. "But, ever since their victory over their father those three have been at each others neck."
"On most occasions the gods came down to earth and, oh, how do you say-" he explained before Damian interrupted him.
"Hooked up because they couldn't keep it in their pants." He said getting a round of laughter from everyone even Mrs. Dodd's and Mr. Brunner.
"That's quite right, Mr. Redgrave," chuckled Mr. Brunner, trying to calm his laughter. "Now can you tell me the term you use for their children?"
"Uh… Demigods, right? Half man and half god," replied Damian who racked his brain for the answer.
"You are correct, Mr. Redgrave," praised Mr. Brunner with a smile. "Can you perhaps name me some demi god heroes?"
"Well, there's Hercules and Perseus who were sons of Zeus, there was also Theseus who was the son of Poseidon." Damian said, getting a pleased nod from Mr. Brunner.
"Good to see you were paying attention, Mr. Redgrave."
However they heard snickers coming from the class behind them and Nancy Bobofit saying "Like we're going to use this in real life. Like it's going to say on our job applications, 'Please explain why Kronos ate his kids or name a demi god."
"And why Mr. Redgrave," Brunner said, "to paraphrase Mrs. Bobofit's excellent question, does this matter in real life?"
Damian thought for a moment. It was an interesting question Mr. Brunner had thrown at them but one he was completely unprepared for. So he just shrugged.
"I'm sorry sir, but I really don't know."
"Mr. Jackson how about you?" he asked but he got the same answer from Percy.
"I see." Mr. Brunner looked disappointed. "Well, half credit to both Mr Jackson and Mr Redgrave. On that note, it's time for lunch. Mrs. Dodd's, would you lead us back outside?"
The class drifted off, the girls holding their stomachs, the guys pushing each other around and acting like total doofuses. Damian rolled his eyes at the sight.
'Boys...' He thought before pausing. 'Where the heck did that thought come from?'
He shook his head before following the rest of the class, noticing Percy being called back by Mr. Brunner. He paused when he saw a small split in the side of one of the walls that led into another room. Curious, Damian entered the room and saw it was another part of the Greek exhibit with a statue of a woman who wore a dress that stopped just above the knees, was barefoot and her hair was in a sort of bun. She carried a bow in one hand and a arrow in another. Then at her side was a wolf.
Damian had to admit, she was very beautiful. He looked at the name on the plaque.
"Artemis..." he muttered, looking back at the stature. He couldn't explain it but he just felt... drawn to the statue.
"Artemis." Damian turned to see Mr. Brunner wheeling into the room. "The Goddess of the Hunt, Moon, Childbirth, Wild Animals and Chastity."
Damian raised an eyebrow. She was a Goddess of childbirth as well as Chastity, how does that work? Plus isn't Artemis one of the thee Virgin Goddesses beside Athena and Hestia? How does a virgin Goddess become a Goddess of Childbirth?
"Bit odd for to be a Goddess of Childbirth when she's a virgin though." Damian said, voicing his thoughts.
"It's best to not think about it or argue the titles of a goddess." Mr. Brunner said.
"Fair enough. She had a reason for swearing off men though, right?" Damian asked. "Something happened with a guy named Orion."
"Well, there's been different versions of that tale." Mr. Brunner said as he looked at the statue of Artemis. "Some say Orion and Artemis were lovers and he betrayed her by raping several of her Hunters, which led to her swearing off men and remaining a virgin. Some say she mistook him for an animal when hunting one day, others say she was tricked into shooting him by her brother Apollo. And some say she never loved him to begin with. The only one who could answer is Artemis herself... alas, these are just myths."
Damian nodded but continued to stare at the stature of Artemis.
The class was gathered on the steps of the museum as they watched the traffic on both the roads and the walkways as most were out from work and heading out for lunch. Up in the sky, it looked like a nasty storm was brewing since dark clouds were heading over the city.
The weather has been very bad ever since Christmas. There's been snow storms, flooding, wildfires from lightning strikes. Damian wouldn't have been surprised if this was a hurricane blowing in.
Damian sat on the edge of a fountain with Percy and Grover as they ate away at their lunch. They sat away from there others, not wanting to be bothered.
"Detention?" Grover asked.
"Nah," Percy said. "Not from Brunner. I just wish he'd lay off me sometimes. I mean—I'm not a genius."
"Yeah, you ain't Einstein, or, since we looked at Greek stuff, Athena." Damian joked, getting a playful shove from Percy.
"Hmm okay" Grover said shrugging. "Can I have your apple?"
Percy gave him it as Damian watched everyone about, shaking his head when seeing a group of boys trying kicking the pigeons only to make them fly away.
"Guess they didn't watch Hitchcock's The Birds, great movie." Damian muttered, taking another bite out of his sandwich.
The three began to chat quietly about the trip and what they might be doing over the summer when Nancy Bobofit walked up to them with some of her goons behind and decided to dump her lunch onto Grover.
"Oops." She said grinning with bits of cheetos stuck in her crooked teeth.
"That's unhygienic." Damian commented. "You should look at a dentist and probably a therapist if you think that's even remotely attractive. now if I were you... I'd say sorry and get lost or else."
"Or else what, Redgrave?" Nancy said mockingly. "You gonna defend the cripple?"
Damian blinked when he saw Nancy suddenly fall into the water fountain making a loud and audible splash which caught the attention of everyone including the teachers with Mrs Dodd's making her way over.
Some of the kids were whispering: "Did you see—"
"—the water—"
"—like it grabbed her—"
'What in the Sam hell just happened?' Damian thought, bewildered.
As soon as Mrs. Dodds was sure poor little Nancy was okay, promising to get her a new shirt at the museum gift shop, etc., etc., Mrs. Dodds turned on Percy. There was a triumphant fire in her eyes, as if he'd done something she'd been waiting for all semester. "Now, honey—"
"I know," Percy grumbled. "A month erasing workbooks."
That wasn't the right thing to say.
"Come with me," Mrs. Dodds said.
"Wait!" Grover yelped. "It was me. I pushed her."
Damian narrowed his eyes. From what he saw, neither of them pushed Nancy, but something had happened to make her fall into the fountain.
However Mrs Dodd's was not buying it and she then lead Percy away back inside the museum where Percy was most likely going to get another scolding and another detention.
"I'm going to the bathroom." Damian said after a couple of seconds and he got up and went back into the building, looking for the bathroom. "Where the heck's the bathroom in this place?"
Damian sighed in relief as he left the bathroom. "That's better." He said before he suddenly heard a scream come from one of the room to his left. "That sounded like Percy. I'd know that girly scream anywhere!"
Drake ran towards the room where the scream originated from.
"Percy, where are you?!" Damian shouted and noticed that no one else was around.
'Odd, museums are usually filled with a lot more people.' Damian thought with a frown before he ran into the fall where he heard Percy scream.
"Damian run!" Percy suddenly shouted, appearing in front of him from round a corner and running towards him.
"Percy, what the hell are you-"
"Where is it?" A deep scratchy voice called, not sounding very human, before a figure appeared behind Percy. Whatever it was had eyes as black as coal with a greyish body with sharp teeth and leathery like wings on its back.
"What the hell is that?!" Damian shouted with an alarmed look in his eyes. It was unlike any demon he's encountered and he's met some pretty weird demons and killed them. He noticed it was about to take a swipe at Percy. "Hey ugly!"
The creature whirled on him with a hiss-
BANG! BANG!
The creature shirked as it was sent flying back upon being struck by two gunshots. In Damian's hand were two pistols, one black, the other white. The pistols resemble Desert Eagles, with stylized grips twisting into sharp points. However, these pistols were special. They never had to be reloaded, and they could kill demons easily.
"Say hello to Dawn and Dusk." Damian grinned.
The creature growled at the two boys. "I won't ask again. Where is the lightning bolt?"
Damian frowned and looked at Percy. "The heck is this thing talking about?"
"I don't know. Mrs Dodd's took me away to talk and then she turned into that. Then she started ranting about me stealing a lightning bolt." Percy said.
"Stealing a lightning bolt? But that doesn't make sense. And did you just say that thing is Mrs Dodd's" Damian asked, looking slightly wide eyed, getting a nod of confirmation.
"Come here, honeys!" She yelled as she spread out her wings and began to flap/charge over towards them.
While Percy had a look of fear cross his face, Damian just looked calm and bored before he ran, leaped and dropkicked the creature that is apparently Mrs. Dodds, sending her crashing into the floor and Damian landed on his feet as he placed his guns in holsters on the back of his waist underneath his coat.
Suddenly a sword appeared across his back, surprising Percy. The sword is a silver-colored longsword. The blade is long and double-edged, with the forward-facing edge curving outward to form the guard. The handguard is is designed to resemble a vortex that reverses at the center of the handguard. The pommel carries a round piece that almost resembles a face.
"It's Judgement time." Damian said, reaching up an unsheathing Judgement.
"Where the heck did that come from?!" Percy shouted.
"tell you later!" Damian shouted back before he pushed Percy and jumped back to avoid them being hit with Mrs. Dodds' whip. "Hey, I ain't into that kind of crap, doubt Percy is, maybe Nancy Bobofit is since she kisses your ass all the damn time."
"Silence!" Mrs. Dodds screeched
Then things got even stranger.
Mr. Brunner, who'd been out in front of the museum a minute before, wheeled his chair into the doorway of the gallery, holding a pen in his hand.
"What ho, Percy!" he shouted, and tossed the pen through the air and Percy caught it.
"The hell is a pen supposed to do?!" Damian asked as he shared a look with Percy. Mrs. Dodds lunged at them and Percy yelped before he saw the pen wasn't a pen anymore... it had become a sword.
Mr;s Dodds drew closer.
Together, Damian and Percy swung their respective blades and the blades sliced right through Mrs. Dodds shoulders as if she were made of water. As soon as that happened, Mrs. Dodds turned into golden dust, leaving nothing but the smell of sulfur and a dying screech and a chill of evil in the air.
"What the..." Damian trailed off as he looked around and saw Mr. Brunner was gone from where he had been. "Okay, this is getting stranger by the minute."
"Tell me about it." percy nodded, shaken from what just happened. He looked at Drake. "Why do you have guns?! And where did you get a sword?!"
Damian sighed as he sheathed Judgment across his back like his father does with Rebellion. "Okay Percy, I'm going to tell you the truth of my father's work and the family business later on, but we need to get out of here."
Percy nodded, taking Damian at his word.
Suddenly, Nancy came in and said, "Where have you idiots been? Mrs. Kerr is about to take us back in the museum?" she said sneering.
"W-Who the hell is Mrs. Kerr?" Percy stuttered but all he got was Nancy rolling her eyes and walking away muttering idiots. Both boys even noticed her previously wet clothes had now somehow dried themselves.
While Percy was about to freak out, Damian was suspicious. 'What the hell is happening?' He thought. Confused, they then walked over to Grover and he gave them the same answer but he was stuttering slightly so they knew he was lying. So instead they turned their attention to Mr. Brunner
He looked up, a little distracted. "Ah, that would be my pen. Please bring your own writing utensil in the future, Mr. Jackson," he said.
"Uh okay." Percy muttered, looking at Damian before handing it over and Mr. Brunner putting them into his front pocket.
"Sir," Percy said, "where's Mrs. Dodd's?"
He stared at the two boys blankly. "Who?"
"The other chaperone. Mrs. Dodd's the pre-algebra teacher," Damian said looking Mr. Brunner square in the eyes. Damian saw a tiny show of deception but it quickly went away. Mr. Brunner let a frown appear on his face and sat forward, looking slightly concerned.
"Percy, Damian, there is no Mrs. Dodd's on this trip. As far as I know, there has never been a Mrs. Dodd's at Yancy Academy. Are you both feeling all right?"
"Say what?" Percy said not quite believing what he just heard. On the other hand, Damian became more suspicious.
"You boys may have just got Mrs. Kerr's name mixed up with someone else, perhaps an old teacher from a previous school. Don't worry about it boys" Mr. Brunner said before wheeling off. "Come it's time to get back into the museum."
As he wheeled away both Percy and Damian stood there one with a dumbstruck look on his face and the other with his eyes narrowing with only one thing coming to mind with everything that just happened.
"What the hell?"
And that's it for the first chapter everyone. I hope you all enjoyed it. So yeah, Damian's weapons are indeed 2013 DmC's Rebellion, Ebony and Ivory,
