lrbrenneke: I see.

Sheploo: We talking about Zeus, right?

Disclaimer: I do not own Devil May Cry or Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I only own the OC Damian Redgrave.

After being claimed, Damian and Percy were moved into the Artemis and Poseidon cabins respectively.

Damian didn't have to share with anybody, least until whenever the Hunters arrive, had plenty of room for all his stuff. He got to sit at his own dinner table, pick all his own activities, call "lights out" whenever he felt like it, and not listen to anybody else.

When Damian had first entered the cabin, the first thing he caught was the smell for the cabin. It smelt just like the outdoors, the smell of the forest that he was so accustomed too. It was a very welcoming smell to him.

The walls were painted a dark green colour with silver vine like designs going along the top and bottom of the wall and then along the walls were pictures of different animals like wolves, deer's, bears and such along with images of people with long hoods and cloaks and carrying bows and arrows.

It didn't take a genius to figure out it must have been images of the hunters.

As he scanned the room, he saw there must have been around 20 beds that all had silver duvets and pillows covering them. Then there were sets of draws attached to the bottom of the beds where clothes and other accessories must have been kept. No doubt these beds were where the hunters would sleep in.

Damian wondered where he would be sleeping since he doubted he could take one of the hunter's beds, and he didn't want to anger his... sisters.

However, his dilemma was solved when the back of the cabin began to shine. Slowly silver vine like designs appeared and began to form a large rectangle shape that looked like a door. Then a door knob formed midway down now confirming to Damian it was door.

When the light went down, there was now a brand new door on the back wall that had a note on the front. Walking up to it, Damian pulled the note off and began reading.

Dear Damian

I know that you must be surprised to find out you are my son but please know that despite my reputation as a man hater, you and your father are the exceptions. So do not think that I don't love or care for you because I do.

Since my hunters resides in the main part of the cabin, I had this room specifically built for you since I don't want to make my hunters feel uncomfortable by making them share with a boy. I hope you understand. You will have everything you need in there and I hope it is to your liking. You may change the room however you want to but remember to keep it tidy. You have every right to stay in this cabin, my son, even more so then my hunters.

I love you with all my heart

Mom

Damian smiled as he quickly swept away a stray tear. Since he was claimed less then an hour ago, there was that nagging voice in the back of his head saying that his mom never wanted him and with Artemis as his mom and with her reputation there was a small part of him that believed it.

But now that his mom had written to him again and confirmed that she does love him and that he is the exception to her hating men, it calmed his nerves and got rid of that voice. He was just happy that his mom really did want him. His dad was right. His mother really loved and wanted him.

He put his hand on the door knob, opened it and scanned the room.

The room was very nice to say the least. It was a lot like the main room where the hunters slept with same wall colour and vine design but with only the animal designs on it. However in the centre of the room instead of a single bed, there was a king size bed which had a dark green duvet and pillow cases covering it.

He sat down on the bed and was amazed at how soft it was. There was a cabinet over to the side that caused him to go a little wide-eyed when he saw the Minotaur horn and the Hell-hound tooth lying in there. There was a little note on the front of the cabinet.

A trophy case for your spoils of war

Love Mom

Damian smirked a little. He guessed that she wanted him to fill it up since his mom technically did monster hunting for a living and was pretty much the biggest female badass you would ever meet.

He looked over next to the cabinet and saw a simple wardrobe that he guessed was made of oak and had been recently made since it still had that wild outdoors smell to it. That would come in handy for his clothes.

He blinked when he saw a set of clothes laid out, familiar clothes. It was the clothing he took to wearing most of the time, especially when demon hunting. His gray tanktop, his 3/4 length, faded black, hooded leather coat with red interior and the Artemis symbol now on the left arm instead of the British flag, his black fingerless gloves, his black faded jeans and his black military boots.

"Mom... you are the best." Damian muttered to himself upon seeing the clothes.

Suddenly a bright light erupted in the room, mainly on the edge of his bed. The light disappeared as quickly as it came and now on the edge of the bed was a box with silver ribbons around it. On the top was once again another note.

He put the note aside just for a moment and opened the box lid. What he saw inside left him a little taken back.

Inside was a perfectly made and shaped bow that was dark brown in colour and had silver vines running up and down it but had gold outlining it. He took it out and held it like he would at archery practice and pulled the bow-string back.

'This is perfect.' He thought as he gently let go of the bow-string. Lying next to the bow was a quiver stocked full of arrows that were silver in colour and had black feathers on the end. The metal glinted and shined in the light as it showed just how sharp and dangerous they were.

He picked up the note that was on top of the box. It read:

As my son you will be expected to have this. Wield this bow well and use it in times of need and to protect those you care about. The arrows are enchanted so every arrow you fire will eventually return to the quiver. Consider it a birthday gift for the 14 years of birthdays I've missed.

Love Mom

Damian shook his head with a smile. There was no doubt in his mind now that his mom wanted the world, and him, to know he was her son and wanted him to be safe and to be protected.

"I'll say it again, Mom... you are the best." Damian said and sent a silent prayer thanking his mother, happy to know she was trying to protect him even when she is not physically there.

Damian got changed into his tanktop and a pair of shorts before getting into bed. The bed was next to the window, which had a good view of the full moon, which seemed to be shining all it's beautiful light on him, as if his mother was looking down at him, wanting him to know how proud she was and how much she loved him.

Damian smiled and soon fell asleep.

The next morning

Damian stepped out of his cabin, dressed in his faded black, 3/4-length, hooded leather coat with red interior linings and the symbol of Artemis on the left arm, a gray tank top, black fingerless gloves, black faded jeans and black military boots.

"Best sleep ever." Damian said. That mattress was the most comfiest mattress he had ever slept on. He took note of the stares aimed at him. The guys staring at him in amazement, the girls with blushes and predatory looks on their faces.

"Damian!" The son of Artemis looked over and saw Silena walking over with a pretty smile that made Damian's breath hitch before he composed himself as she came to a stop at the foot of the cabin and Damian stepped off to stand next to her.

"Hey Silena." Damian smiled at her.

"So, how was your first night in cabin eight?" Silena asked with a grin. "Your alive and haven't been turned into an animal."

Damian snorted. "My mom loves me too much to do that. But it was great! The bed was comfy, big king sized bed all for me. I don't even have that kind of bed back at my dad's place, despite me begging for one but my dad's ass is broke and he's always in debt to my aunt."

Silena giggled before pouting. "No one else has a big bad." She said playfully, making Damian smirk at her. "It is still amazing. To think you are the son of Artemis. I never imagined she would fall in love. From what my mom told me, she always said Artemis was someone she never thought would find love. That she would always be on her own with her hunters, swearing off love. I guess love gets you when you least expect it, even to those who don't believe in it."

"You've met your mom?" Damian asked, a little surprised, getting a nod from Silena.

"I, Annabeth, Luke, Clarisse and a few others got to go to Olympus for the Winter Solstice. We saw all the gods and I got to spend a little bit of time with my mom. She was just like I expected. Very girly and boy obsessed but she was very beautiful and she cares deeply for her children even if she has so many." Silena told him.

'You definitely got the beauty part.' Damian thought. If his dad was here, he'd say Silena would grow up to be a bombshell that'll make jaws drop. Actually, his dad would tease him and try to set him up with Silena. "Have you met my mom?"

Silena found it adorable that he was asking about his mom. He only found out about her the other day and already he cares for her and loves her if the look on his face and look in his eyes were any indication.

"I didn't meet her personally but I did see her. She had long auburn hair and had silver eyes that you inherited. She also looked very stern but she was very beautiful. She was more naturally beautiful and I don't think she wore any make up unlike many of the other goddesses."

Silena looked at him, staring into those silver eyes that she found absolutely gorgeous. They just drew her in.

The two entered the pavilion and went to sit and their respected tables. Damian felt a little lonely sitting on his own at the cabin eight table. He also saw Percy sitting on his own at the cabin three tables eating his breakfast. The green eyed boy looked like he had a rough night.

He looked around and saw everyone avoiding Percy and looking at him with uneasy looks like they were scared of him. Even Clarisse looked a little off around him.

They also looked at him but it was like they were just trying to figure him out since he was the first ever child of Artemis. Ares' kids were physically strong, Athena's children were smart, Aphrodite's children were good looking, Hermes' kids were jacks of all trades, masters of none and so on. So no doubt they were figuring out what benefits he had.

Other than his skills with a bow, guns and sword.

Damian quickly ate his breakfast which consisted of a bowl of cereal with some toast topped with strawberry jam and orange juice before he left the dining pavilion at the same time as Percy.

"How did you sleep?" Damian asked, appearing next to the son of Poseidon.

"Not too bad. Little weird being all on my own though. Just when I thought I was beginning to fit with this place I get sent to a cabin all by myself."

Damian patted his back. "Cheer up. Things will get better soon. At least now you know who your dad is and that you don't have to sleep in a cramped place anymore." Damian said, getting a grateful look from Percy.

Percy realised he was right. Especially no longer sleeping cramped. That was murder on his back.

As the two walked, thunder boomed in the distance and both boys saw thunder clouds in the sky. Grover had told them that bad weather never found its way into the camp boundaries but yet here they both saw the clouds thundering over the camp and the ocean getting wild with wave getting as high as ten metres in the air.

They were both interrupted from their thoughts as their local satyr friend made his way over to them.

"Hey Percy." Grover called, getting both boys' attention. "Chiron wants to see you in his office."

"Oh urm, okay" Percy said before turning to Damian. "You coming too?"

Damian thought for a moment before shrugging. "Sure I don't really have anything else to do."

"Urm Chiron kind of only asked for only Percy" Grover said stuttering. "There are things that Percy has to be made aware off and thing that he has to do."

Damian narrowed his eyes. "Is he in danger?"

"M-Maybe a little-"

"Then I'm coming." Damian said firmly. "Ain't no way I'm letting my friend go into danger without me to back him up."

Percy smiled, grateful Damian had his back.

Grover sighed. "Alright then. Let's go."

The satyr led the two demigods to Chiron and Mr. D who were in their usual spot on the porch on the big house.

"Morning celebrities." Mr D said in a flat tone, not even glancing towards them.

"Ahh thank you for bringing Percy, Grover" Chiron said before he noticed Damian . "Damian, this only concerns-"

"When it's my friend's safety in question, it becomes my business and concern." Damian said, giving Chiron a look that said 'I'm not leaving.'

Mr. D snorted. "He's got his mother's glare in those eyes."

Chiron gave a loud sigh. Although he would not say it aloud for fear of being turned into a jackelope, he now definitely saw the resemblances Damian had with his mother. Not only did he now have some of her physical features but he definitely had her stubbornness too.

"Very well. take a seat boys." He said, gesturing to the chair in front of him to which the boys took. Mr. D was currently reading the wine monthly magazine before he set it down and rubbed his eyes.

"Come closer," Mr. D said. "And don't expect me to kowtow to you, Jackson, just because old Barnacle-Beard is your father. "

A net of lightning flashed across the clouds. Thunder shook the windows of the house. Damian glanced up with raised eyebrows

"Blah, blah, blah," Dionysus said.

Chiron feigned interest in his pinochle cards. Grover cowered by the railing, his hooves clopping back and forth.

"If I had my way," Dionysus said, "I would cause your molecules to erupt in flames. Wed sweep up the ashes and be done with a lot of trouble. But Chiron seems to feel this would be against my mission at this cursed camp: to keep you little brats safe from harm. "

"Spontaneous combustion is a form of harm, Mr. D," Chiron put in.

"Nonsense," Dionysus said. "Boy wouldn't feel a thing. Nevertheless, I've agreed to restrain myself I'm thinking of turning you into a dolphin instead, sending you back to your father. "

"Mr. D—" Chiron warned.

"Oh, all right," Dionysus relented. "There's one more option. But its deadly foolishness. " Dionysus rose, and the invisible players cards dropped to the table. "I'm off to Olympus for the emergency meeting. If the boy is still here when I get back, I'll turn him into an Atlantic bottlenose. Do you understand? And Perseus Jackson, if you're at all smart, you'll see that's a much more sensible choice than what Chiron feels you must do. "

Dionysus picked up a playing card, twisted it, and it became a plastic rectangle. A credit card? No. A security pass.

He snapped his fingers.

The air seemed to fold and bend around him. He became a hologram, then a wind, then he was gone, leaving only the smell of fresh-pressed grapes lingering behind.

"Well, sounds like the upstairs neighbours are in a bit of a bother." Damian commented after the God of Wine had left.

"Tell me, Percy," Chiron said. "What did you make of the hellhound?"

"It scared me," Percy said. "If Damian hadn't shot it, Id be dead. " He looked at Damian. "Thanks, man."

"No problem." Damian shrugged.

"You'll meet worse, Percy. Far worse, before you're done. " Chiron said.

"Done?" Percy and Damian shared a look. "With what?"

"Your quest, of course. Will you accept it?"

Damian frowned. "You haven't even told him what this quest is."

"That is the hard part." Chiron said as he looked across the camp and at the weather.

"Poseidon and Zeus," Percy said. "They're fighting over something valuable... something that was stolen, aren't they?" He said as he got surprised looks from Damian, Grover and Chiron.

Chiron sat forward in his wheelchair. "How did you know that?"

Percy's face felt hot. "The weather since Christmas has been weird, like the sea and the sky are fighting. Then I talked to Annabeth, and shed overheard something about a theft. And... I've also been having these dreams. "

"I knew it," Grover said.

"Hush, satyr," Chiron ordered.

"But it is his quest!" Grover's eyes were bright with excitement. "It must be!"

"Only the Oracle can determine. "Chiron stroked his bristly beard. "Nevertheless, Percy, you are correct. Your father and Zeus are having their worst quarrel in centuries. They are fighting over something valuable that was stolen. To be precise: a lightning bolt."

Damian's eyes widened. "No flipping way..."

"Do not take this lightly," Chiron warned Percy. "I'm not talking about some tinfoil-covered zigzag you'd see in a second-grade play. I'm talking about a two-foot-long cylinder of high-grade celestial bronze, capped on both ends with god-level explosives."

"How does he lose that thing?!" Damian asked himself in a whisper, voice full of disbelief. Did he leave it beside his golden toilet or something?

"Oh." Percy said dumbly.

"Zeus' master bolt," Chiron said, getting worked up now. "The symbol of his power, from which all other lightning bolts are patterned. The first weapon made by the Cyclopes for the war against the Titans, the bolt that sheared the top off Mount Etna and hurled Kronos from his throne; the master bolt, which packs enough power to make mortal hydrogen bombs look like firecrackers."

"And it's missing?" Percy asked with a gulp.

"Stolen," Chiron said.

"By who?"

"By whom," Chiron corrected. "By you." He said pointing to Percy.

Percy's mouth fell open.

"What now?" Damian blinked.

"At least"—Chiron held up a hand—"that's what Zeus thinks. During the winter solstice, at the last council of the gods, Zeus and Poseidon had an argument. The usual nonsense: Mother Rhea always liked you best, Air disasters are more spectacular than sea disasters, et cetera. Afterward, Zeus realized his master bolt was missing, taken from the throne room under his very nose. He immediately blamed Poseidon. Now, a god cannot usurp another gods symbol of power directly—that is forbidden by the most ancient of divine laws. But Zeus believes your father convinced a human hero to take it. "

"But I didn't—" Percy started

"Patience and listen, child," Chiron said. "Zeus has good reason to be suspicious. The forges of the Cyclopes are under the ocean, which gives Poseidon some influence over the makers of his brothers lightning. Zeus believes Poseidon has taken the master bolt, and is now secretly having the Cyclopes build an arsenal of illegal copies, which might be used to topple Zeus from his throne. The only thing Zeus wasn't sure about was which hero Poseidon used to steal the bolt. Now Poseidon has openly claimed you as his son. You were in New York over the winter holidays. You could easily have snuck into Olympus. Zeus believes he has found his thief. "

"But Percy didn't even know he was a demigod at that time." Damian said.

Chiron sighed. "Unfortunately, Zeus does not always think rashly in these kind of events. Ever since Poseidon helped Hera some of the other gods trap him in a golden net so that he would be a better ruler, Zeus has always been wary of Poseidon since Poseidon is one of only two gods who have the strength to match Zeus in power. Hera, Hestia and Demeter have tried to calm them down but nothing is working. Zeus is demanding his Master Bolt be returned while Poseidon is demanding that he did not do it and wants an apology from Zeus."

Percy who just sat there and listened to the old centaur had never felt so nervous or scared in his life. The king of the god's weapon was stolen and he was being blamed. This was a lot for a twelve year old to take in.

"How bad will this get if the bolt isn't found and returned to Zeus?" Damian asked seriously.

"Imagine the world in chaos. Nature at war with itself. Olympians forced to choose sides between Zeus and Poseidon. Destruction. Carnage. Millions dead. Western civilization turned into a battleground so big it will make the Trojan War look like a water fight in comparison."

"Shit." Damian muttered. "End of the bloody world then."

"And you, Percy Jackson, will be the first to feel Zeus' wrath." Chiron finished.

Then, as if the gods were listening, it began to rain on Camp Half Blood. Campers began to run into their cabins to avoid getting wet while the Aphrodite girls were screaming slightly, their make up getting ruined from the rain hitting their faces.

"So I have to find this stupid bolt and get it back to Zeus." Percy said, finally speaking up after being told he had to find the bolt or risk the world falling in to a war of the gods.

"What better peace offering," Chiron said, "than to have the son of Poseidon return Zeus's property?"

"So If Poseidon doesn't have it, where is the bolt then?" Damian asked.

"I think I know. Some years ago I got a prophecy and now some of the lines are beginning to make sense now. Before we can move nay further thought, you Percy have to do one thing before you take up this quest.

"And what's that?" Percy asked, getting worried from the look Chiron was giving him while Damian was readily listening to the suggestion Chiron was about to make and looked at Grover who was shuffling in his seat. Damian was preparing himself. If Percy needed his help, he would be there to stand by his side.

Friends stick together until the end after all.

Chiron took a deep breath before saying. "Percy, it's time you went to consult with the Oracle."

And that's it for this chapter everyone.
