Chapter 5: The daily life of a highschool boy.

Since the fiasco with the Yakuza was done, life was relatively peaceful. Someone had covered up the incident so that there was no mention of it in the media. A video of the clone beating up some of the guards had leaked into the internet but it was removed without much delay.

"Does this look good on me Onii-chan?" Right now I was out shopping for clothes with Komachi who was adamant that I go with her.

"Of course. My dear imouto looks good in everything." Right now she was wearing a black two piece knee length western skirt and a grey high neck t-shirt dress. It made her look more mature than she was.

"I think I'll be buying this." Komachi decided. It was probably the tenth different outfit she had tried today.

"I'll pay for it then." Our parents had handed over the money for buying clothes to me.

"But we haven't bought anything for you onii-chan. Mom and dad said that we should buy clothes for both of us." Komachi said.

"Don't worry about that. I'm more than happy with my current outfits." I wasn't lying. I had more than ten different outfits at home for outdoor use which was weird since my past self loathed going out. I did not share my past self's inclination towards being a shut in but I was more than happy to stay home when I had nothing major to do.

"Nope. We are buying clothes for you ad that's final. Now try this outfit." She said as she handed over a black and red tshirt along with black trousers. So I entered the changing room, stripped out of my clothes and put on the new clothes.

"I think this is a little too tight." I said as I exited the booth. I liked the colour scheme of the Tshirt but it was a bit too form fitting for my liking. My muscles were being restricted by the fabric which felt somewhat uncomfortable.

'"That looks good on you onii-chan." Komachi nodded in approval. "That ought to turn a few heads." She said. Some of the passing by women nodded in affirmation to Komachi's statement as well.

"I'll buy this one but a size bigger." I informed the assistant who was standing by. The packaging was done swiftly and we soon exited the shop.

"Ne onii-chan, let's go for a movie." Komachi said to which I readily agreed.

The nearby theatre was running just three movies. One was an anime movie that had something to do with a mute girl and her bully who later had an attitude change, another was a live action one about a former assassin trying to find his kidnapped daughter and a third small comedy flick that not many people knew about.

We ended up watching the anime one which was honestly quite good. The pacing was amazing and the characters were well fleshed out for an hour and a half long movie. The ending with the guy finally moving forward from his past hit quite close to home.

"That was beautiful." Komachi said.

"Are you crying?" I asked her out of exasperation.

"No I'm not. Stupid Onii!" She snapped. "That will cost you a lot of Komachi points." She said.

"Will I get it back if I take you for lunch?" I asked.

"Maybe. But no Saize or I'll cut all your Komachi points for the week." She said.

And so we ended up having lunch at a quiet little family restaurant which was not too crowded. The entire process barely took half an hour and soon after we were back on the road.

"Hikigaya-san?" Komachi and I were heading back home when we heard someone calling us. Since Hikigaya was an uncommon surname, I was pretty sure that we were the ones being addressed. So both if us turned around and saw a small group of girls that looked around Komachi's age.

"You know them?" I asked Komachi who nodded.

"They are my friends." Komachi said. "This is Asada Shino-chan. She has been my classmate since we were first years." Komachi said, pointing towards a cute black haired girl.

" This is Honjou Nia-chan. We met when we we entered the third year." She pointed towards another cute girl who had shortish silver hair.

" And last but not least is Senjogahara Hitagi-chan. She's our class representative and is also one of the best in our school when it comes to academics." The last girl was another beauty with purple hair.

" Guys, this is my brother Hikigaya Hachiman." She introduced me to the girls.

" Nice to meet you." I gave a polite bow as well which was promptly returned.

" Nice to meet you onii-san. Komachi-chan has spoken many things about you." The purple haired girl, Senjogahara said.

" Is that so? I hope it's nothing too bad."

I was content on leaving Komachi to talk with the kids while I waited in the side. I had intentionally avoided eavesdropping on their conversation which judging by the looks of it was quite animated. They spoke for about five more minutes before a visibly embarrassed Komachi came to me, huffing and puffing.

"You guys done?"

"Yep, let's go home."

Sunday arrived like usual and I was still unable to stay home. If I had to go shopping with Komachi on Saturday, then Yui had invited me to her house on Sunday. Originally she asked me to join them on Saturday but Komachi was the higher priority.

Since she lived nearby, we could have had scheduled a dinner but her family wanted to go out for a movie themselves so it was postponed to today.

My morning routine was undisturbed and by 11 in the morning, I found myself standing in front of a well built two storied house. I had been to this place a few times while accompanying Yui but this was the first time that I would be entering it.

I rang the doorbell and stood in front of the door, waiting for someone to open it.

"Yes who is this?" I heard a rough voice speaking through the intercom.

"The name is Hikigaya Hachiman. I am a friend of Yuigahama Yui. "

" So you are that kid. " I heard the man say. " I'll be right there. "

Soon the door opened and I was greeted by a man whom I reckoned was Yui's dad. As far as looks go, I must say that the man didn't resemble Yui too much but I could see some similarities between them in the shape of the ears and the nose. He was around 170cm in height which meant he was shorter than me but he was definitely well built.

Fir some reason, he wanted to have a staredown with me which I was happy to reciprocate. This lasted for about a minute or so before he backed down.

"The name's Masayoshi. You can address me as such." He said while I was being led to the living room. "Yui! Your friend is here!" He yelled while we were passing by the stairs. I guess her room was on the first floor.

We soon entered the living room which was quite spacious. A 40 inch LCD TV was playing a soccer match between two Japanese clubs.

" You watch Soccer Masayoshi-san? " We were now comfortably seated.

" Yes. How about you Hikigaya-kun? "

" Well, I'm not too into it I guess. I like reading novels or books. " I replied.

" Ho? So you read novels? You mean novels like Yukiguni? He asked.

"Well, I like both classic novels and Light Novels."

"That is surprising since I thought that kids your age usually is stuck chasing the popular fad instead of doing things like reading. "

" I understand. However, I don't think everyone's the same. Plus, I myself am a special case. " I replied.

" You are huh? Well, I knew that already. So wanna play a game of shogi or something until the women are here?" He asked.

"Why not?"

Shogi, was not an easy sport to learn especially for an amateur like me bht once I got the hang of the rules, it was considerably easier.

We had three games in total with the first one being a completely one sided win for Masayoshi-san but the second one was a much closer fight. I actually won the third match which was an exhilarating feeling.

"Good game Hikigaya-kun." Masayoshi-san congratulated me. "I didn't expect you to learn this quickly." He said.

"Thank you for the instructions Masayoshi-san. It was a pleasure to play with you."

And so, with the atmosphere between us having eased, we waited for the women of the house to make an appearance and surprisingly, the first to do so wasn't Yui.

"Ara, so you must be the famous Hikigaya-kun." An older looking version of Yui who had just entered the room with a tray of tea in her hands said.

Looking at Yui's mother, I could see where her looks came from. The woman was like a mature version of Yui who oozed motherly energy from her. I guess Yui would become like this in the future once she grew up and had kids of her own but there was no denying that the woman was beautiful.

Since I was a principled person, there was no way I was going to make a move on a married woman so my admiration of her was strictly just that, admiration.

"Nice to meet you. My name is Hikigaya Hachiman." I stood up and bowed to the lady.

"Polite as well. You can call me Yuri. As you might have surmised, I am Yui's mother. "

Since Yui was yet to come down, I sat down with the parents who I surprisingly had a lot of shared interests with. However, the girl in question did end up making her appearance soon afterwards.

"Sorry for making you wait Hikki." Since we were in front of her parents, I had to fight my urge to dish out headpats for the girl.

"No problem."

And so the four of sat there talking about various things until it was time for lunch.

"So is it true that you ran in front of a car to save Sable?" Yuri-san asked this while we were eating.

"You could say that it's true." I replied.

"Wasn't it dangerous. Why would you risk your life to save someone's pet?" She asked.

"I guess I have a soft spot for pets. My house has a cat who's a little too lazy for his own good but we still love him. I just can't stand seeing an innocent animal get hurt." I replied.

There wasn't any more questions for the rest of lunch after which I had to take my leave. Yui had invited me to her room but I declined saying that I had to be elsewhere soon.

"It was nice meeting you Masayoshi-san, Yuri-san. Hopefully we can meet again soon. And goodbye to you too Yui." I bade farewell to the family of three who had came outside the house to see me off.

"Goodbye Hikigaya-kun. You should drop by soon for a game or two. " Masayoshi-san said.

" I will. " With that done, I left. There was somewhere I needed to be.

"So these are the only guys I need to take care of?" Right now, I was in an abandoned warehouse at the Southern part of Chiba.

"Yep. These guys are the only extreme groups in this city. The rest of the gangs are not that dangerous for the public." I was with my clone who had been tasked with tailing some unscrupulous fellows.

Since I had accidentally gotten involved with the Yakuza last week, I had to get my hands on all information regarding them which I did and the results were a little bit different from the public story.

Apparently one if the three gangs, two after the clone disposed one of them was not even part of the Yakuza. They were an American based crime syndicate that happened to be bitter rivals with one of the Yakuza families. However, both of these gangs named the Bee Hive Gang and the Shuei Clan respectively were indeed in a temporary truce to hold off the Shadow Wolves which was now out of the picture. This had caused a rise in tensions between the two gangs and what I was witnessing was a meeting between some of the rather extreme members of the Shuei Clan.

The Clan leader, Issei Ichijou was his name, was an old man who wanted to avoid pointless bloodshed, a sentiment shared by Adelt Wagner Kirisaki, the leader of the Bee Hive Gang. As a former clan head, I could understand their feelings as war was, in mild terms, a bitch to deal with. The loss of talented individuals for petty reasons had caused a lot of grief for the Blood Lotus, so much so that I had implemented a system where greenhorns incapable of defending themselves properly had to stay in the Clan premises until they were ready for fighting.

However, these guys wanted to take out the Bee Hive Gang once and for all so that they could take over Chiba. They were currently in the process of planning a coup to take out their old leader. As much as I didn't care about a random old man, him kicking the bucket would turn Chiba into a battlefield which was the last thing I needed. Even I was unable to guarantee the safety of my loved ones 24/7.

"You guys are on a different level of stupid. Aren't you?" I walked out of our hiding place after making sure that every one who needed to die was here.

"Who are these guys?" The oldest man in the group who looked like he was the leader asked one of the younger guys. By the way, both the clone and I were currently in the form of one if those guys whom I had taken out the other day.

"We don't know boss. We made sure that this place was a secret." The younger man explained hastily. There was a slight panic in his voice.

"So tell me, what do you want?" The older guy, in his respect, collected himself quickly and asked with authority.

"Well, we are a couple of guys who want to keep Chiba peaceful and what you guys are planning here is quite detrimental to that." I replied frankly. The clone was silent as usual.

"So Ichijou sent you? I didn't expect the old rat to catch on. Unfortunately for you, you guys won't be leaving this place, not in one piece at least. " The old man said.

" We'll see about that. " I motioned to the clone who by human standards disappeared from the spot before we started hearing grunts from around the warehouse.

For an ordinary human, it was difficult to comprehend what was happening but I was able to see everything clearly.

The clone ran towards two of the guys who were standing behind the old man and gave them a nice hard blow on the solar plexus. The first guy, who was a little on the skinny side died instantly as his ribs were broken and ruptured his lungs. The second guy, who was a little bit bigger got a punch on the center of his chest. The human body could only take so much damage as his heart caved in and he entered the afterlife.

What followed afterwards was a swift and cold massacre which was done with a brutal efficiency. The clone had a fatality rate of 100 per cent which was to be expected.

"Don't move!" The old guy, who was scared was holding a gun facing towards me. "Don't move or I will shoot. Ask your friend to stand down. " He ordered.

However after seeing that there was no trace of panic in my face and that the murder spree was continuing, he actually had the guts to take the shot.

The man was holding a Glock 19 which could shoot a bullet at a speed of 380 meter per second which was too fast for a human being to react to. However, for someone who could move at the speed of light and had reflexes that matched it, the bullet would look like a snail crawling towards you.

There were many ways in which I could avoid the hit like dodging, pinching it out of the air etc.. but I chose something that was a little bit more intimidating, I let it hit me in the face.

A perk of being a martial artist with an impressive qi circulation was the fact that I was near invulnerable to physical attacks. This applied to projectile weapons as well and so the bullet crashed near my forehead, folded on itself like a paper foil and fell harmlessly on the ground.

That was the end of any resistance from the part of them and so we soon tidied up the rest and left. The rest was upto the gangs to decide.

Yui POV.

When Yuigahama Yui was a little girl, her mother used to tell her stories about Princes and Princesses from fairy tales. Since her mother was an avid enjoyer of classics from all across the world, the stories she was told was not limited to the Japanese ones. As much as she wanted to deny it, these stories played a vital part in shaping her personality.

Primary school was when she first started searching for her Prince Charming. After all, if Cinderella could find one, why couldn't she. Her little mind was unable to comprehend the fact that Prince Charming was nothing more than a character in a storybook and that real guys wouldn't be like that.

So it wasn't a surprise when she was let down by the kids of her age. Not that they could be blamed as Primary school boys had a lot of things to worry about but romance was not one of them. She was evidently saddened by the guys who avoided her like the plague saying that she had cooties.

By the time they entered the end of their primary school life, Yui had started to grow like the rest of her classmates and she could say without a doubt that she was one of the more better looking girls in her schools so she had received a lot of confessions. Many of these guys used to tease her when they were younger and she never really gave them any chance. However, she made extra sure not to offend anyone since she didn't want to be excluded from the class groups.

By the time junior high came around, Yui could say honestly that she grew up from the little girl searching for her Prince Charming. She was very much able to maneuver around the pits and traps of social interactions without getting herself caught. If she said so herself, Yuigahama Yui was one of the most popular girls in her school during her junior high days.

It was at this time she gained a moniker of being a nice girl due to her tendency to stay in the middle ground most of the time. She had received many confessions, both private and public, all of them she rejected without a second thought. She would be lying if she said that she felt mildly curious about some of the guys but she didn't go out with anyone. In the back of her mind, the same little girl was still searching for her Prince Charming.

Trying for and entering Soubu High was something she did out of a whim. At some point, she was tired of the farcical relationships in her school and wanted to get away from it all. It was a genuine shock to both her and her parents that she got in. In hindsight, it was the best decision of her life as she had finally found the one she was looking for.

It was a completely normal morning and she had taken Sable for a walk like she usually did in the morning. However when they were nearing a junction, Sable's collar had gotten loose and he shot forward like a bullet. The signal was red and she could see a car rushing towards the running dog. There was no way that she could make it in time and she had nearly given up hope whe He appeared.

Although only for a split second, she saw a boy her age in her peripheral vision before he passed by her and rushed towards Sable. She soon heard the car screeching to a halt. Fearing the worst, she ran towards the site only to find out that no one was injured and that Sable was safe.

This was her first meeting with Hikigaya Hachiman and should have been her last but for some inexplicable reason, she felt like sticking around him, a decision she would not be regretting in her entire life.

Hikki, as she had taken to calling Hikigaya, was everything she had ever hoped for in her man. He was calm, collected and carried himself like royalty. Although he tended to treat her like a kid most of the time, he was also immune to all of her attempts at teasing him. Despite all of this, he was caring and kind to those close to him. While he wasn't a supermodel, Hikki carried himself with such a poise that most people were instantly attracted to him. His eyes which was beady resembled those of a hawk. Add to this the fact that he was no pushover on the physical side, there was no way she wasn't falling head over heels for him.

She relished every chance she got to be together with him and was excited when she leaned that they were going to the same school but her excitement died down a little after they were assigned to different classes. However, she didn't let this disturb her pursuit of him and she even received a promise to have lunch together.

The first two months at Soubu were a little hectic for her taste especially concerning Hikki. The man had skyrocketed in popularity after certain rumours had popped up regarding his conduct which had led to him eventually being crowned as the school's Dark Prince. This only increased his popularity and soon the entire school knew of him.

Speaking of Princes, she was lucky enough to enter the entourage of Hayama Hayato, the school's other Prince who was a classmate. While Hayama-kun certainly behaved like his moniker, she always felt that there was something off about him.

The combined PE class between 1-F and 1-C might have been the straw that broke the camel's back when it comes to Hikki's popularity as he effortless dismantled our class in a soccer match. Hayama-kun was a member of the school team and was their ace so it was understandable.

Hikki's biggest fanbase was among the third year girls who were discreet in their stalking of him. While Hikki himself behaved like he was completely unaware of this but she couldn't let her guard down. So she hounded him during breaks, intending to keep the other girls away but that just got her into trouble with Kawasaki Saki who was one of Hikki's two friends, three including her.

Well, if she was being honest, she didn't really dislike Kawasaki. She was an honest girl despite her looks and was strong enough to be uncaring of her surroundings even during the period when bad rumours were flying around. However, Yui could see clearly that Kawasaki was attracted to her Hikki although the girl in question was probably unaware of this. She couldn't risk her taking the lead but at the same time, she couldn't really knock her out of the picture. So she had resorted to being a little more forward in her approach.

Her inviting him for lunch at her home and meeting with her parents was part of her plan and to her immense relief, it went really smoothly. Her dad, who was a little overprotective of her was clearly impressed by Hikki and her mom was certainly in favour of him as well.

"You know, that kid is special." She heard her dad say.

" I seem to share your opinion in this matter honey. That boy is indeed special. But why do you think so? " Her mom asked. They were having a conversation on the couch while she was seated nearby in a chair.

" Well, when I met the boy, I was unconsciously in my interview mode. I was exerting the same amount of pressure that I put on interviewees for some high positions but the kid didn't even flinch once. Heck, he barely even noticed the pressure. That kind of constitution is rare, exceedingly so. " Her dad was a member of the Board of Directors of a big Accounting firm so he indeed had a lot of experience in conducting interviews.

" I felt that too. Moreover, he is also really polite. If that is my future son-in-law, I approve. " Her mother said jokingly.

" Mom! " While she was embarassed, Yui didn't deny the son-in-law part.

Undisclosed location, Tokyo.

Around twenty men were currently gathered in a room which had a round table arranged. However, these were no ordinary men as they were the heads of some of the most notorious Yakuza clans in Japan. However the common factor among all these prominent figures were members of the same clan.

Although they were portrayed as different clans by popular media, the truth of the matter was that almost all Yakuza families were under the same clan and the same Oyabun. However, most of them never had any interactions with each other except during meetings like this.

However, there was one member present who was not a part of the Clan. Adelt Wagner Kirisaki, the leader of the Bee Hive Gang was a tall man with blond hair and multiple visible scars across his body. He was currently wearing a white suit.

The room which was deathly quiet gave way to murmuring as an old man who looked like he was in his eighties, walked into the room. The occupants of the room including Kirisaki stood up in respect of the man for he was Kazuo Yamamoto, the Oyabun of the Yamamoto-gumi, their parent Yakuza clan.

"The boss has given his thanks. You may take your seat now." A Young man who was in his twenties said. He was currently acting as a secretary to Yamamoto, who was unable to raise his voice beyond a limit.

"We are sorry for calling you up in such short notice but the boss has certain fears that needs to be addressed. Before that, Kirisaki-san, we thank you for coming here despite our past history." The young man bowed.

" Now onto the matter at hand." He continued. " As you might have heard already, The Shadow Wolves Clan, one of our families in Chiba was wiped out. We have identified the perpetrator as Takahiro Yoiichi, a small gangster under the Shadow Wolves but he has showcased certain inhuman or rather supernatural powers during the fight. " He paused as one of the members standing near him played a recording in the TV. It showed a bulky looking man killing people with his bare hands who would then disappear in flames.

The silence in the room was palpable as the leaders tried to comprehend what they saw.

" As you can see, we are up against a possible superhuman. The boss has strict orders for each of you to not engage or even pursue this man under any circumstances. He has shown that he's capable of destruction and it would be foolish of us to invite him ourselves." The man said.

" So you are telling me that we are to let this guy go scot free after he trashed one if our own?" The man who asked this was Yakumo Touei, the current head of the Kyoto branch of the Clan.

The man turned to the Oyabun who spoke something in his ears. " No we are not Yakumo-san. However, it would be foolish of us to charge an opponent that we know for sure that we cannot best currently. The Boss is suggesting that we wait to see if we can find some weaknesses of his. " The man said.

" While I do not agree, I respect the Boss's wish. " Yakumo sat down.

" Now that we have gotten over that part, we have one more thing to discuss. Kirisaki-san, Ichijou-san, the Boss is worried about the situation in Chiba. With the Shadow Wolves gone, it might be only a short while before The Bee Hive Gang and the Shuei Clan go to war. The boss doesn't wish to bring our activities in Chiba to the public radar which will undoubtedly happen should a war take place." The man said.

"I can understand your concern Oyabun. To an extent, I share the exact same concern as you." Issei Ichijou said.

"Mr Yamamoto, I agree with Mr Ichijou on this. And I believe that I have a proposal that could work out in our favour." Kirisaki said.

"Ho? Let's hear it then." This was the first time Yamamoto spoke.

"My Daughter Chitoge and Mr Ichijou's son Raku are of the same age. Moreover, the kids already know each other as they have played together once when they were young.I believe that we can arrange a marriage between them which would deter the guys from trying anything with the other gang especially since both of them are quite beloved." Kirisaki said.

" What do you say Ichijou-san? " Yamamoto asked.

" If Kirisaki is alright with it, I don't see any reason why i should disagree. However i do believe Sosuke and his cronies are already planning on taking action against me. " Ichijou said.

" That is already taken care of Ichijou-san. " The young man said mysteriously.

" Then I believe this is meeting adjourned. " Yamamoto said as he stood up with the help of the assistant." Do remember what we agreed upon here and try to find any leads without risking your life. "

This should have been uploaded on Monday but due to some irl problems, it got a little delayed.

Anyways, I hope you liked this chapter and did anyone see what I did here?

We are slowly but steadily moving along the plot and the next chapter will finish everything before the summer vacation and the one after will be set in the Murim. It's about time for Ruonxi to return and she will get her backstory then.

As for the poll, harem is more or less guaranteed a win unless something drastic happen so I guess I need to start preparing for it. Remember, even if this is a harem, it will be a slow one with the girls getting enough building. Not everyone will be like Yui.

As for the poll results, I'll publish the current top 5 since the others haven't gotten many votes since the last poll.

1. Harem: 90 votes.

2.. Ruonxi: 52 votes.

3. Kawasaki: 25 votes.

4. Miura: 23 votes.

5. Hiratsuka: 12 votes.

Do mind that I keep record of every vote. it's just that I'm too lazy to list everything here.

Last but not least, I'm not a writer, not even an aspiring one. I am an accountant by profession so writing is the farthest I can imagine from my field of work. So expect mistakes and inconsistency in the story. If you point it out to me, I will rectify it.

As for the poll, the time between this chapter's release and the next chapters release will mark the end of the poll. It's the last dance I guess.

Also do tell how you felt about the chapter. I'll see you soon.
