I broke out of my shock when I felt someone tugging at my hands, I looked down to see my little sister, Sophie, a daughter of Athena, was tugging at my hands. She looked at me curiously with her 9 years old eyes. "Annabeth, who is that man?" She asked, confused.
I looked around to see that many of the campers were confused too. They had heard of him, and had seen his pictures. But he looked different now, only the people who grew up with him and had seen him personally recognized him.
I took a deep breath and answered, "That is Percy Jackson."
The campers and the hunters who had only heard of him gasped. They couldn't believe the legend of the stories was here.
My voice snapped Percy's attention to me, and I found myself looking back at his sea-green eyes.
Third Person Pov
Annabeth didn't move or breathe as her ex looked at her. She didn't know what to say. She was the reason their relationship ended. He had grown more handsome, and more powerful it seems. Her internal panic ended when Percy addressed her.
"Hello Annabeth," He greeted her formally, without any show of emotions. No anger, disgust, sorrow, not anything. He was relaxed like what he did had no effect on him now.
"Hello Percy, how have you been?" She asked him, startled. She hadn't expected him to talk to her. She saw the way Percy and Piper had come together, they seemed close.
Percy smiled and looked at Piper before looking back at Annabeth, "The years have been kind to me, and I'm happy." He said looking at his fiancé. Piper smiled too and took his hand and intertwined it with hers. She knew how much he loved her, she wasn't threatened by him interacting with his ex.
Before Annabeth could ask before a blur shot passed her, and the next moment. The little girl from earlier Valerie was hugging Percy. He himself laughed and twirled her around in the air laughing with her.
"Did you see that dad? Yours isn't the most dramatic entrance to camp anymore, I beat you to it." Valerie boasted to her father. She had always heard her father about how he got to camp with the Minotaur in his tail and killed him. She always wanted to make a dramatic entrance like her father.
Percy had a proud look on his face, and his smile could've lit the camp even in the darkest of nights. "Yes I saw that, your mother was quite nervous about you going against a Titan, but I knew better. You're after all a Jackson."
Valerie laughed and nodded, before turning to Piper. "Seriously Mom, you have seen me defeat a legion of royal guards, and you're still scared?"
A collective gasp ran through Percy and Piper's old friends, as they realized that Valerie was their daughter. Ignoring the gasps of shock, Piper pulled her daughter in a hug.
"I know you're very capable honey, but it doesn't comfort me at all when you're in danger. Your father was scared too, he is just a little immature to accept it." Piper said the last part teasing Percy.
Valerie and Piper laughed as Percy turned red in face from embarrassment.
Annabeth felt her heart break into a million pieces as she looked at them. "You're together?" She asked with a little bitter tone in her voice. She couldn't help it. It was supposed to be her. She was supposed to have children with him and raise them together. She was supposed to make fun of Percy with their children. Piper had gotten everything she wanted in her life. Piper and Percy had built something permanent.
If Percy had recognized the bitter tone in her voice he decided to ignore it, instead he smiled at Piper. "Yep, been together for 18 years, or is it more? I know we left 20 years ago, but sometimes I forget the years. I think it's because old age is catching up to me. I mean I do not feel old but rather I feel… I mean I can move and fight just the same as when I was a teenager. I am 38 now, that's not so old is it? I do not think so…" He kept rambling off topic.
Everyone looked at him in amusement. It seemed as he grew older, his ability to pay attention had grown worse. He stopped his rambling when Piper grabbed his face and pushed her lips against his. Silencing him, Percy sighed when Piper pulled apart.
"Shush love, you're rambling again." Piper said to him before turning to others, "What my fiancé meant to say was we have been together for at least 19 years together and still going stronger." She said smiling and kissed him again.
'Fiancé?' Annabeth recalled bitterly as she looked down at the ring in her finger, the one she found among Percy's stuff, the one that was meant for her.
"I love it when she does that." Percy said in a dazed tone when Piper pulled away, at the same time Valerie shouted, "Eew."
Everyone laughed as the father and daughter had different reactions. Annabeth did her very best to control her emotions, to push back the tears threatening her eyes. How could Piper do that to her?
Thalia stepped forward towards the trio and addressed Valerie, "You're right little Jackson. That was just eew." She then hugged Percy tightly. He looked old, whereas she was still the same 15 year old. She had missed her cousin, he was more of a brother to her than Jason.
When they parted Percy looked at his daughter, "Val, this is your aunt Thalia. She is cool and awesome, although I'm cooler than her. She looks tough and acts tough, but we all know that she is just a big softy."
Percy, Artemis and the hunters laughed as Thalia turned red, and denied everything he said.
Percy and Piper moved their daughter forward and introduced her to Hazel, Frank, Leo, Calypso, and other of his friends. They made their way towards the dining pavilion, where everyone was gathered to hear and speak with Percy and Piper.
"So what did you two do after leaving camp?" Chiron asked the family of three, who were currently sitting at the Poseidon table. He had missed his star student more than anything. Percy was like a son to him. His leave had left a big whole in his heart.
Percy and Valerie had their mouths stuffed with blue pancakes, and both of them turned to Piper in sync. Piper rolled her eyes at the duo's antics. She loved how the two were eerily similar. She reached her hand to wipe the crumbs from Percy and her daughter's lips. She turned to the rest of their friends to answer.
"Well, Percy and I decided to take the time we had to travel the world. He took me all over the world to show me everything I wanted to see. We traveled to Greece and Rome to see for ourselves what the temples dedicated to the gods are like. We traveled to India, France, Venice, Australia, Japan, and pretty much every country out there. We spent time with the locals and got accustomed to their cultures." Piper gushed about her experience.
Everyone was wide eyed as they heard about the adventures of the two. All that adventure was something they could only dream of. Percy and Piper's friends were smiling. Happy that the two got the life they wanted. Those two deserve each other after all the heartbreak they went through,
All of them were happy for the two except for a daughter of Athena and a son of Jupiter. Jason was angry that Piper was with Percy after what he did to him. The son of Poseidon had castrated him, leaving him a eunuch.
Annabeth couldn't deal with the fact that Percy was with someone else. He was supposed to be hers, they were supposed to be in love forever.
Pretty soon everyone went back to their cabin leaving Percy, Piper and their friends alone. Hazel, Frank, Leo, Calypso, Thalia, and Nico talked with them for another half hour before they too went away. Leaving only four demigods alone.
"Percy, can I talk to you in private?" Annabeth asked, looking at him. She didn't know if he would talk to her not. She bristled in anger when Percy turned towards Piper to see if she was okay with it.
Percy nodded and led Annabeth to the beach.
PIPER
"So you and Percy are engaged?" Was the first thing Jason asked her. It was obvious that he didn't like it from the bitter tone in his voice.
"Yes, Percy and I are engaged. That's why we are here actually, Valerie is old enough, the two decades of peace that the gods had granted us is over. We can now get married among our friends and family." Piper smiled as she answered him. Percy and her are going to turn into gods and spend eternity together. The thought excited her.
"You love him?" Jason asked through gritted teeth.
"Yes I love him and my daughter more than anything in the world." Piper replied, raising an eyebrow at him. What were his intentions in asking her?
"You once loved me, and that changed," Jason challenged. He couldn't believe that Percy had taken everything from him. The respect he had, the girl he had, and he severed his penis too.
"I did love you once and that changed because you betrayed my trust." Piper hissed at him, "You went beyond my back to screw my bestfriend, and you two were doing it for a whole year. How can you show me your face after what you did? It was a good thing I stopped Percy or you wouldn't even be alive right now."
"And Percy would never betray me, he is a real man. Not like you," She spat at him, causing Jason to recall. The amount of hatred she had for him was unnerving.
"And what if something happened to him?" Jason asked suggestively, his anger was growing as she went on and on about Percy.
Piper's expression immediately turned serious, "Is that a threat? Because if it is I promise you won't live long to even attempt anything. Don't forget Jason, I was the one who brought you back to life, I can just as easily charm you to it again. Immortal or not." She warned and stepped away.
Leaving a shell shocked son of Jupiter.
PERCY
"The camp has changed," Percy commented as he sat down at the beach.
Annabeth sat down beside him and nodded, "A lot of things have changed since you left."
"So what did you want to talk to me about?" Percy asked her.
"It was supposed to be me," She commented looking over at the seas. It had become a hobby of hers to come out and sit by the beach looking at the shores and remembering the son of Poseidon who loved her.
"What do you mean?" Percy asked, confused, what she was talking about.
"The life Piper has with you. It was supposed to be mine, to grow old together, have a child together and marry each other." Annabeth answered.
"I always thought it would be you also. I would dream about our life and children. It was something that used to give me solace." Percy said to her. He remembered his dreams for the future he had with Annabeth.
"Then why did you leave me?" Annabeth asked him with tears in her eyes.
"Are you seriously asking me that? After you were fucking another man behind my back, did you expect me to stay?" Percy looked over at her with raised eyebrows. His tone was calm but his words were harsh.
"You could've given me a chance to atone," Annabeth shouted at him, "After everything we went through, you couldn't forgive me?"
"Are you fucking kidding me? Are you blaming me? You betrayed my trust and loyalty by fucking another man. Do you know how many goddesses wanted to be with me, do you know how many proposals I declined for you? I stayed loyal to you while you were being a fucking cheat." Percy snarled at her, how dare she think she had the right to go off on him.
"How could I have been in a relationship with you even if I had forgiven you. Knowing that despite all my love and dedication my girlfriend was fucking my bestfriend behind my back like a common whore. I could never trust someone like that."
"And what if I hadn't ever known about you two? What would you have done? Continued fucking another guys behind my back? Get pregnant by Jason and tell me I was the father, and let me raise the child. Knowing that once the child grows up and I realize that it isn't mine, I would've far too in love with the child and wouldn't leave you? Because I am loyal?"
Annabeth was sobbing as Percy's words kept hitting her. She hadn't ever wanted to hurt him in such ways. She wanted to go back to time and made it so she had never betrayed him, but that wasn't possible.
The waves that had started rising dangerously calmed down, Percy looked at her with sad eyes, "Do I wish you had never cheated on me or betrayed me. Yes. Do I want to change anything that happened, No. Because after those heartbreaks, pain and suffering I found something real. I found a girl who loved me as much as I loved her. I found the woman I am going to marry and we have a wonderful daughter. I love Piper with all my heart and soul, and nothing is going to come between us. Because I trust her." Percy said and walked away.
Leaving Annabeth sobbing at the beach.
Percy found Piper near the beach and smirked, "Were you jealous? And wanted to see if something was going on?" He asked her.
Piper slapped his shoulder, "No Idiot, you know I trust you more than anything. It's just Jason had some colorful things to say and he threatened your life. I wanted to see if you were safe. And it seems like you had it rougher than me." She said and rested her head on his chest.
She loved how whenever she hugged Percy her head fit perfectly on his chest and his chin rested upon her head.
"Yeah I might've been a little harsh, but it was well deserved. I wanted to make sure that she knew how I felt, I needed that closure." Percy said to her as they walked back to the camp where Valerie was talking with some kids of her own age.
"So what do we do next?" Piper asked.
"Now we become gods, Mrs. Jackson." Percy replied with a smile.
