Before we start, I'm pulling things out of thin air, and molding it into something coherent. Even I'm not sure if this chapter would be accepted but I am hoping that you guys think it is ok.

Also, this chapter is very heavy on exposition.

Chapter 2: Many truths revealed

"What the hell is an Asari?!" Naruto was glaring at the old man sitting in front of her as she was learning that he knew something else that has been kept from her.

Hiruzen knew that in terms of strength, he was far above the one glaring at him, yet the black abyss that became her eyes was slightly intimidating. Not to mention that he had seen the same look in Kushina's eyes…..literally. He knew that he had to tell her the truth about this but he was still going to keep secrets that needed to be kept. "I have little information about the race…."

*CRASH*

Another chair was sent flying and making another hole in the apartment wall. He was now in the only chair remaining and he was sure that if he angered her more, the chair would be sent out as well…with him in it. "I am serious, Naruto. I was given very little information about your race as Kushina had not told me much." it took him a second to realize his blunder but before he could say anything else, the young one in front of him spoke.

"So you did know them…"

Hiruzen saw a blue aura begin to leak from Naruto and the whole room began to gain a darker blue hue as he felt her power take hold of everything in it.

Naruto wanted to hurt the old man but she wanted answers more. She was angrier that he lied to her and kept secrets that she deserved to know. Feeling a little spiteful, she rubbed a bit of salt on this. In a low tone, she asked. "So why did you keep my mother: Kushina Uzumaki and my father: Minato Namikaze a secret from me?"

Hiruzen's eyes widened at what he heard. "How did you f…."

"I figured it out years ago." not letting the old man finish she continued. "I mean, I look like a miniature version of the man. His face is sculpted in the damn cliff that overlooks the whole village not to mention that his picture is in one of the old bingo books that you can find in the public library." she calmed down and her eyes turned back to their original blue. "I got the idea when I started to see the resemblance between my hairstyle and his one day and then I looked up as much information about him that I started to put the pieces together. It was when I saw his picture that it was the only thing that made sense. My mother was easier. I just had to look through the shinobi records and find any kunoichi that was around my father's age around the time he was alive and that had to have died around the time of the Kyuubi attack. The hardest part was going through all the records of them but thankfully they were in alphabetical order based on last name."

Hiruzen was impressed that she was able to find out the information that he had tried to keep from her. 'I must be going senile if I had missed the bingo book and the MIA/KIA records

in the public library.'

The reason those records were made public is that the people in those records have been missing for a good amount of time or are dead so they had nothing to hide. The only thing about them that was kept secret would be clan secrets and mission records.

Hiruzen looked at her with a look of awe. "I am surprised that you were able to figure that out, Naruto."

"Did you think I was an idiot? I may not be a Nara but I make sure that I am not the worst in class." she crossed her arms as she huffed and looked away

"Yet your records show that you have the lowest scores in the whole class."

Naruto paused and spun back to the old man. "what!? That can't be possible! I made sure to be ready for the tests and double-checked my homework. Sure, Iruka has the amazing ability to make anything he teaches sound more boring than watching already dry paint dry but I was able to get a lot of what he said." 'he repeats it like eight times a week'

Hiruzen thought about why he was informed that Naruto was doing so poorly in the academy. He looked at her to see her pull on one of her head tendrils only to stop and rub in gingerly as it must have hurt, before his eyes lowered to her stomach and realized why he was given misinformation. He was successful in holding his anger back. 'I'm going to have to look into some of the academy's staff.' he cleared his throat to get her attention. "I will look into that matter when I have the time."

Naruto glared again at the old man as she wasn't sure if he would actually do that. He could be telling her he would do it but not and keep it a secret from her. It was a petty thought but right now, she was angry. Pushing it to the side she asked. "So why the hell didn't you tell me about my parents? Out of everyone in the village, I am the most deserving of that information, ESPECIALLY if my mother was a different species!"

"Alien."

Naruto paused as she looked him dead in the eyes. "What?"

Hiruzen knew that he was already in this deep so he should give as much information he could give. "It is not that you are a different species, it is more that you are a different race from off our planet. Your mother was an alien"

Naruto looked down at her body and it made some sense that she was an alien but the idea that aliens existed in the real world was still a little unbelievable. "Did she tell you that she was an alien?"

"Yes, she did. When it was discovered that she was expecting, she and your father came to me as they wanted to set up some protection for when you were born so they came to me and informed me about your mother's nature. They even showed me some of the technology she had with her when she had apparently crashlanded on our planet."

He thought about some of the fantastical pieces of tech that he was shown before they were sealed away. He also agreed that the technology that was shown should not be part of what the shinobi world should use since it would cause massive problems if they were mass-produced and given to low-level bandits

Though a good amount of the things shinobi could do were superior to some of the tech.

Hiruzen continued despite his thoughts going off. "She had told me that she was testing out some sort of long-distance travel device when something went wrong with it and it sent her to this planet. Her ship was not able to survive the landing and was destroyed. When I first let her be part of the village, I was unaware of her race but the Uzumaki that brought her to me told me that she had a task that was of extreme importance." Choosing to ignore what he was informed of, he continued. "Your mother and her guardian were brought in around the time that your father gained a team himself and when since he was doing exceptionally well, I set your father up as her protection. After some time, they had fallen in love and it was around that time I assume he was informed of her Asari species. It was not that long afterward that the Uzumaki guardian had passed on due to a mission going wrong and I assume Minato took up the role of protecting her secret since there was no one else that could protect her secret."

Naruto imagined how her parents interacted with each other but she wondered what her father's reaction was when he found out. She could only assume that her mother looked like an older version of her since they must have been the same species. She looked down at her body again and couldn't help but wonder 'what did I get from dad?' sure her human form looked like a younger version of Minato but her…Asari form… was very separate from it. Wanting to know more about her parents she looked up to the Hokage. "Is there anything of them that they left behind for me? Or something that they used to have?" her eyes narrowed when he saw the old man winced. 'Old bastard does have something!'

Hiruzne knew that he was losing ground with the young girl as she was asking questions he wasn't expecting and he was doing a very bad job at hiding things right now. He had been hoping that he wouldn't be telling her all this till she was older but now it seemed that he didn't have a choice. He sighed as he nodded. "There are a few things that I had stored away for you and now that you know all this, I suppose it is only right that you are given them." he got up from his seat and began to move to the door. "I shall retrieve them and bring them back here so you can look them over." as he got to the door, he looked back and spoke. "And I would recommend that you put the henge back on. Don't want others to see what you are."

Nodding, she put her hands into the tiger seal and in a poof of smoke, she was now back in her normal human form. He looked up to see Hiruzen opening the door and spoke. "You are still going to tell me why you never told me about my parents when you get back. And stop keeping things from me. I may be a kid but when you live on your own all your life, you have to grow up fast."

Hiruzen didn't know how many times he was going to wince at being called out today but he was sure that he must have broken the record in the last thirty minutes. Feeling the need to at least get some report back with the boy he looked over his shoulder and smiled. "And your pranks show that you've grown up?"

Naruto shrugged as he moved toward his room. "Like I said, I'm still a kid, and doing them is fun."

Hiruzen sighed before he left the apartment and made his way down the stairs. He saw there was a group of people gathered and looking at the hole of the apartment and chose to disperse them. "Everything is alright. Just a jutsu mishap."

Understanding that there are times that a shinobi would have a mishap with a jutsu and knowing who lived in the apartment, the people left with some of them muttering.

"Kid messed up again, figures."

Hiruzen frowned at that as he saw that the young…. Asari…. Had a very bad reputation if the people thought it was typical of him to mess up. Especially if what Naruto said was true and that he was not as impaired as the old man was led to believe.

~later~

Naruto was now in a pair of dark blue Anbu pants and a loose orange shirt as he was bringing in the pieces of the chairs he had sent flying out of his apartment back inside. Once he got the stuff inside, he glared at the hole in the apartment. "Gonna have to fix that unless I want to sleep in the cold night."

*ahem*

Naruto turned back to the door and saw the Hokage standing there and put his stuff down and moved towards him. "Come on in. I just finished getting the last of the broken chairs in and was going to fix the holes."

"I can have a team fix that for you."

Naruto scowled at the man as he spoke. "The last time you offered something like that, the jonin sensei showed up, and then left with his team. I had to be the one to fix the damage done to the apartment stairs on my own, so no thanks."

Hriuzen made a mental note to find that Jonin, demote him, and disband that team since not only did they take credit for something they did not do, he was given false information. If the man was willing to do that for something like this, he should never be privy to anything vital and never be trusted on missions. He cleared his throat and pulled out a scroll from his sleeve. "After your parents' death, I personally entered their home and found most of their items had been sealed up already. I do not know who it was that sealed their materials but it was labeled for you and you alone." He unfurled the scroll and placed it on the table before channeling his chakra into the seal on it. Popping out of the seal was another scroll but this one had deep blue on its edges and had the words "Uzumaki" on it. He picked it up and moved it to another spot on the table. "I sealed this one away as it is a blood seal but with no chakra lock on it. Usually, blood seals have a chakra lock along with the seal to make sure that no one can just take your blood and open the seal. The chakra lock that usually goes with the blood seal is supposed to register a chakra frequency that is exact or similar enough to it to link to the blood needed for the seal. This one though only needs your blood."

Naruto looked at the scroll before he went to his room to grab a kunai. He came back and cut his finger so he could wipe it on the seal. He jumped a bit as he saw that his henge had dispelled from the pain of the cut. 'Damn it.' choosing to just go with it she moved her finger to the seal and was about to wipe it on but before her finger made contact, she looked at the old man with a narrowed look and asked. "Are you sure you didn't take anything out of this?"

Hiruzen felt insulted by the insinuation. "Naruto, why would you think that I would…"

"Because you've been keeping secrets that you shouldn't have been keeping from me all this time. How am I supposed to know if you aren't keeping anything else from me?"

Hiruzen, this time, was able to hide his reaction at being called out on that again and the lack of trust he now had with the young alien. But he didn't do anything about the scroll or its items. He knew that Kushina's otherworldly possessions must be sealed inside it as well as a sweep of the place had told him as such. He made sure there was no left behind items but to his relief, it was unneeded.

Naruto looked at the scroll and wiped her finger on the seal but groaned as no blood was smeared. She looked at the finger and saw that it was healed already. 'Wonder if my super healing is an alien thing?' Cutting her finger again, she wiped the blood on the seal and saw it glow before she had to shut her eyes as it became blinding.

Out of the came another two scrolls and a small metal circular device, barely the size of someone's hand.

Once the two opened their eyes after the light died down, Naruto looked at the items that fell to the table and couldn't help but deadpan. 'How many scrolls am I going to open today?' looking away from the scrolls, she raised an eyebrow at the metal device. "What's this?"

Hiruzen shook his head as he answered. "I do not know. I can only assume that it belonged to your mother as it looks like it has a similar design to the objects she has shown me."

Out of curiosity, Naruto picked up the device and looked it over, not realizing that she had activated it.

[Biotics detected]

Naruto yelped and dropped the device onto the table.

The device rolled till it landed on its flat surface and several parts of it lit up with the largest part of it being in the center.

Hiruzen and Naruto were shocked at the sight of the device lighting up before a small transparent blue figure appear over it.

Hiruzen looked closer at the figure and could not believe what it was. "Kushina…."

The small figure was indeed Kushina Uzumaki, the mother of Naruto Uzumaki. Despite how it was transparent and colored completely blue, it was clear as day.

Naruto looked from the old man to the small figure and could feel her eyes water at the sight. A picture from records gave her the idea of what she looked like but this seemed more personal. She lowered her head to get a closer look at the figure till….

[Hello, daughter]

Naruto yelped and pulled back as the little figure began to speak

Hiruzen titled his head as he asked. "Kushina, is that you?"

The Kushina figured chuckled as she continued to speak. [if the old monkey is there, sorry, old man, this is just a recording I made.] Kushina then became somber as she spoke [if you are watching this, then that means that neither your father nor I have made it. It was a few minutes since your father Minato Namikaze left and a few seconds since I have left. What you are seeing is a shadow clone that your father had left behind and I have left an imprinted message for you.] She sighed as she folded her hands in front of her. [how old are you when you see this? Six? Seven? I hope that Hiruzen gave you this message when you would be able to understand what I say.]

Naruto slowly looked up to Hiruzen with a dark look on her face

Hiruzen gulped as he knew that he did not do such.

[I wish I could see how you grow and what appearance Hiruzen gave you to hide from the villagers. He knows that we kept my race a secret because there are people even in Konoha that we cannot trust.] She put her hands into a tiger seal before she went up in smoke and took on the form of an older Asari. [I'm sure that when he removed the hiding seal on you, he told you that you are an Asari. It is what we are. The Asari is a race that has a long history in the Interstellar Republic as well as one of the council races. Our home planet is named Thessia, also known as the "Crown Jewel in the Galaxy". A little pompous in my opinion but we have made many jumps in our race's capabilities so maybe it earned that title but only in the Milky Way Galaxy, a galaxy that this planet is not part of. This planet is a little out of the way of normal galactic highways and on the edge of Termina space. The Asari are often considered the most influential and respected sentient species in our galaxy as we are known for our elegance, diplomacy, and biotic aptitude. I would love to go into our history but there are some things that you need to know as of now.]

Naruto thought about the little bit about her race she just heard and could only imagine what the other Asari might be like.

[before I inform you of some things that I know that the old monkey will keep a secret, I should clear up some misunderstandings. Right now, the Village is being attacked by the Kyuubi that had been sealed away for some time. But unlike what others believe, there has only been one Jinchuriki of the Kyuubi when several thought that there had been two. Despite what the Old monkey might believe, I was not the Jinchuriki of the Kyuubi when I was living in Konoha. I was merely its guard. The Uzumaki had found a way to seal the powerful beast into a container that they had guarded for some time. Yet when information about an incoming attack reached the village of Uzu, it was decided that the container should be moved. My guardian since I arrived at Uzu was the guard of the container so she was the one to take t out of the village and find a place to lay low. Obviously, I had gone with her and after some time, we ended up near Konoha and chose to find refuge there. We arrived and soon found a home there. When we arrived, we had informed Hiruzen that my guardian was the guard of the nine-tailed beast and that I would take the role after she passed. I think it was the way we said this that it was misunderstood that my guardian was the Jinchuriki of the Kyuubi and that I would be the next. We were fine with this as it keeps the beast sealed away more securely. As we stayed in Konoha, I met your father and soon fell for him as he went through the academy and became a genin. As I was from another village, I was already assumed to be a genin and was placed on a team with him. But since I was unable to use chakra, I had chosen another way of fighting. So I became proficient with a sword and I was able to use my biotics to mimic a few of the shinobi arts to give the impression that I had chakra. Needless to say, since I had no chakra, I couldn't use jutsu.]

Hiruzen thought back to all the mission reports that involved Kushina and realized that scarcely was it mentioned that she used jutsu and the times where it was made mentioned that she did use jutsu, it was usually the simple wall walking and moving across the water. He was informed about the biotics when he was told about her race but he had no knowledge of what it was or could do.

[Now, I am sure that you learned that you could not use chakra due to our race never gaining anything from the father. Children made by an Asari, regardless of the other race, will always come out as an Asari. I wish I could go into detail but I am limited on time.] she crossed her arms and gained a hazy aura that was visible in the message.

Hiruzen knew the look on Kushina's face even if it was on a different face. She was pissed. He could even see that her eyes had become pitch black, even if the rest of her was a tint of blue.

[Now, as for why the Kyuubi is attacking, after I had given birth to you, an intruder had infiltrated our safe house and attacked those that were stationed to protect us. The identity of this person is unknown due to him being concealed by a cloak and mask but through the one visible eye hole of the orange mask, I could see a Sharingan. Whether it was implanted like Kakashi's or it was an actual Uchiha, I could not say but the man wanted the Kyuubi. Thanks to the misinformation that had spread, he had assumed that I was the Jinchuriki but since "Kushina" was not there, he had threatened me and my daughter. He seemed to not think much about what I was.] She chuckled as she muttered. [though, from records and the summons that Minato had and understand why I am not the oddest thing he could have seen.]

Hiruzen was surprised to hear that there was an intruder at the safe house. It would mean that this man was the cause for the attack on Konoha that day, along with the death of so many people. Including his wife's Biwako.

Shaking her head she continued. [He was ill-prepared for my counter as I still had the strength to fight back and since he knew nothing about biotics, he was blindsided by me tossing him into the wall. I was able to get you back and Minato had teleported me and you out of there and to another safe house. But that was where it all went wrong. I don't know what happened but the safehouse we left behind, exploded, whether from jutsu or some more explosive tags he had is unclear. The problem was that since I am to have the container that held the Kyuubi with me at all times. Whatever caused the explosion must have been powerful enough to destroy the containment and released the beast.]

Hiruzen remembered that moment when the beast had appeared out of nowhere. He had assumed that Kushina had died from it being unsealed from her but now that he was told that she was not the Jinchuriki, it made more sense why he saw her moving as if nothing was wrong.

Kushina's anger died down as she stumbled in the recording and looked around the room. [If that isn't the goddess telling me that my time is running out, I don't know what is.] She let out a sigh as she stabilized her feet. [Minato had proposed to me of sealing the beast into you, which I had vehemently denied. But he gave the argument that the hospital is in shambles and if they were evacuated from the building, he would not have time to search for one. I had argued that we do not know what doing such a thing could have unforeseen circumstances. He argued, that if he did nothing but fight the beast, everyone would be dead, including you.]

Naruto sharply turned to Hiruzen and saw the guilty look on his face and it all made sense now. 'My father sealed the Kyuubi in me…. That's why all the villagers hate me. Because I hold the beast that caused so much destruction.'

Kushina let out a groan as she placed a hand on her forehead. [I pray to the goddess that nothing bad happens to you as nothing like this has ever been done to an Asari.] Her attitude then became motherly. [I wish I could be there with you to tell you everything about our race but if you are listening to this, the only thing I can say is that I love you and I hope you grow up to be the best you can be. And take care of yourself. I had gained a sort of addiction to Ramen while I was in Konoha and I know that you must have gotten one too. And if you haven't heard of Ramen yet, I pray that you control yourself when you do discover it.]

Naruto giggled as she had discovered ramen and many have said she needed to control herself. She never listened. She paused as she realized what she had just done. 'Did I just ….giggle? Aw, damn it.'

Kushina cleared her throat as she was getting teary. [One final thing. All of my items will be sealed away by Minato and locked by a blood seal with no chakra lock so that you will be able to open them. Make sure that you keep them safe and away from others. They are yours now. Also, I will have Minato label the items that I have so that you know what they are as one of them was a distress beacon I worked on while on this planet. I finished it but…. chose to stay here with your father. Something you should know before you mess with them.] she sheepishly rubbed the side of her neck as she mumbled. [And I may have forgotten which device it was I was converting into the beacon after some time.]

Naruto and Hiruzen chuckled at that with the older one thinking that is something that she would do and it kinda reminded him of some of the airhead moments that Naruto had.

Her mood became saddened as she finished. [Take care, my daughter, Taulrae Mailas, from your mother: Matriarch Kaizha.] She bowed to the recording and stayed in that pose for a few seconds

Naruto felt tears falling from her eyes as her mother gives her goodbye. 'Goodbye, mom.' she thought about that name that her mother said and shook her head with a smile. 'Must be what mom wanted to call me since it sounds weird. Must be an Asari name.'

Hiruzen was about to place his hand on her shoulder to comfort the young Asari but their attention went back to the small hologram

*poof* [Woah!] *crash*

The two looked at the hologram and saw Minato slowly getting up from the ground as he put his hand on his head.

[That's still one hell of an experience.] Minato chuckled as he got to his feet and shook his head clear. Looking towards where Kushina was looking, he began his message. [Hey, uh… I'm not sure what your name would have been.] he chuckled again as he rubbed the back of his head. [When Kushina told me she was expecting, my excitement about the matter was the most I had throughout my life. I went through so many names, both for boys and girls that I made a list of them. it wasn't until I had limited the number to about five for each that she told me that the male names wouldn't be needed since you would come out as an Asari. She told me that she let me continue my ranting because she thought it was amusing. I came up with some good ones, too. Naruto was on the top of the list, something your Godfather Jiraiya had come up with in his first story ever written,] He grimaced as he remembered something about his sensei. [um…don't ever look up his books. I don't think a young girl like you should ever read his stuff. If he ever offers you a book, don't read it. And make sure you stay on your toes around him since he has a load of bad habits that I don't want you to have.]

Hiruzen chuckled at that as he knew that his student had many vices that had labeled him as a bad role model. But the man had his redeeming qualities….you just had to look deeeeep for them.

Naruto filed away the name Jiraiya for later. She wasn't sure if she had heard it before but now that she had something to work with, she was going to find this person and…thank him for looking after her.

[anyway, the top names I had for you, if you were a boy, would be Naruto, or Menma. Those were the top choices. "Naruto" because the book that sensei made that has that as the main character is fairly good. Menma was something Kuchina thought was cute. For a girl's name, Kasumi or Natsumi. There was even a joke name that Kushina came up with since I was fond of Naruto.] he chuckled as he said it. [Naruko. We both had a chuckle at that.] His happy mood died as he continued. [I wonder what name was given to you. Kushina said you could have two names since she came up with your Asari name while I came up with your human one. I always knew your mother as "Kushina" so I hardly ever called her by her Asari name when she told me about it. That was a shock when she showed me. I helped her keep it a secret since I knew of several people that would love nothing more than to abuse such information.] his sad mood turned to slight anger as he spoke. [whihc is why you should avoid a man by the name of Danzo. He is an elder in the shinobi council along with Homura and Kotaru. They have more of a militaristic viewpoint of things and I don't know what they would do after I….] his anger died as he regained his sad mood. He sighed as he seemed to lose the stature of a well-kept man to a defeated one. [Kushina already said that she wished she was there with you but I wish we both would be. I wish I didn't have to do what I am about to you but the situation is against my wishes. I actually had several things planned to do with you as you grew up. I may not have been able to help you with jutsu and such but that doesn't mean we couldn't have had some time to spend with you. Even if I would still be Hokage if things went differently, I would have left a shadow clone in the office if you came to me and wanted to spend time together.]

Something in Hiruzen's mind clicked as he thought about what Minato said. 'Leaving a shadow clone….. Of course!'

[and I don't know what sealing the Kyuubi into you might do to you but I pray to kami….and the Goddess that nothing bad happens.] He took a breath as he finished. [I know you might be mad at me for putting this burden on you but I am doing this not just for the village, but for you as well. If I didn't seal the beast away, the village and you would have died from its rampage. I fought the man that was the cause of this and I know theta he will come back for it. He wanted the Kyuubi for some reason and he seemed to have a vendetta against Konoha. Be careful of any Uchiha or anyone that has a Sharingan in their right eye….except Kakashi. He is someone you can trust.] He smiled a bit as he shifted his eyes

For a split second, Naruto thought that her father was looking directly at her as if he knew where she was.

[No matter what you do in your life, no matter what others may say, know that we love you and we will be proud of the person you will turn out to be.] he smiled warmly, not knowing he was doing it directly to Naruto. [Even if you can't use chakra, I am sealing all of my notes, jutsu scrolls, and instructions on how to do my personal jutsu and fighting style into a scroll for you to do as you see fit. And just to let you know, the seal that was used on Kushina is on a tag that I will make for you to conceal your true nature. I only have time to make one so I am leaving instructions for Hiruzen to make more of them so that you can keep using them.]

Hiruzen remembered finding the seal tag but the instructions he found looked half done with the last of it being cut off mid-stroke. He could only assume that the clone dispelled before it could finish. And the instructions only explained its purpose. The last of it said "make sure to place it on…." and that was it. It didn't say that he should make more and he had placed it on the eight trigram seal. It seemed to connect to the eight trigram seal and some of the chakra being siphoned in the larger seal moved into the tag and seemed to become a permanent mark on it. Something he was grateful for. But now it seemed he had messed that up as well.

Naruto chuckled at that as she could see what could be considered protective father mode

Minato looked lower and tilted his head. [Now, how do I turn this off?] the hologram showed him messing with the device till it turned off.

The room became silent as the message ended

Hiruzen stepped forward and was about to comfort the girl after learning all that was mentioned. "Naruto…"

"Leave me alone, Hokage." she got up and left the dining room as she made her way toward her bedroom. As she opened the door she spoke. "When were you going to tell me any of this? You lied about my parents, you lied about knowing why the villagers hated me, you kept my race a secret from me. So when were you going to tell me all this? When I was a genin? A chunin? When I was a jonin? Or were you going to keep it a secret from me forever?"

Hiruzen kept silent as he never really had planned on when he would tell Naruto. He just assumed he would tell her if or when she found out.

The silence was enough for Naruto and she moved into her room and closed the door.

Hiruzen knew that was his cue to leave and walked out the main entrance of the apartment.

Naruto sat on her bed before looking at the device in her hand. Her eyes narrowed at her blue skin before she put the device down and brought her hands up into a seal. In a poof of smoke, he was back in his human form. "I've been human all this time that I don't think I can think of myself as anything else….. And Dad was excited about calling me Naruto. Can't change who I am just because of all this. He picked up the device again and spun it around in his hand before he pressed a button on the side. Hoping it would do what he wanted.

[Hello, daughter]

Unknown to Naruto, he pressed something else on the device. A button that Kushina had been installing for another purpose

[Commander, you have an incoming message from the council.]

"I'll take it."

A figure moved through a sleek metallic hallway before entering a room with no one in it. Once the figure entered an orange hologram popped up to show an Asari wearing a single-piece formal dress and small streaks of face paint.

[Commander Shepard.]

"Councilor Tevos, is it just you? I would have thought that if I would receive a message from the council it would be for a mission or intel you have on Saren."

[Yes. the council has given you the information on Benizia's daughter and where to find her since she might help lead you to Saren, but this….. Is a personal mission to the Asari.]

"Meaning?"

[we have recently received a distress beacon coming from outside of our known systems. I am unsure of whether or not this is a legitimate call for help as it is ID'd to be from one of our own that had disappeared some time ago.]

"What makes you think that beacon is legit?"

[Not only is this distress beacon dated it comes with a message.] she pressed a button on the consol she was using as a recorded audio message was played

[~I could really use a rescue…. Or a pickup when you have the time. Sometime in my lifespan would be nice!~] came the slightly frustrated voice from the recording

"Sounds cheery."

[She was one of our best commandos but was lost when a set of experimental coordinates were used. This is the first was have heard from her in several years.]

"And you want me to go pick her up if she is still alive?"

[i know this is not part of your mission to find Saren, but it would put me in your debt if you do.] she knew that she had to spice up the request as any politician would. Best to lean it more to it being accepted than denied.

"Hopefully this will just be a simple pick up and no trouble will come. But I have to ask, why does it seem that you have a personal stake in this?"

[As I said, she was a valuable asset to the Asari commandos, and to have her return would be beneficial to us.]

Shepard nodded. "Alright. Send me the coordinates of the beacon and I can make course toward it."

[Thank you, Commander.] she pressed a few buttons, sending them to the ship.

Joker's voice came over the comms. [coordinates received, commander.]

Tevos nodded. [thank you for taking up this request.]

"I'll do what I can. Shepard out."

The hologram turned off, leaving Shepard alone.

[hooo, gotta say, commander, that is one hell of a ways off the beaten path. You sure you wanna do this?]

"With how the council acted when we brought up charges on Saren, if I can get any leeway from one of them, I do it."

[nice, Commander. Should I set course?]

"Do it. Liara is going to have to wait for a bit longer."

[Aye aye, commander.]

This came out longer than I thought it would. I originally thought this chapter would have Naruto getting used to his/her new species and some time in the academy but this exposition chapter was long enough as it is

Honestly didn't think about continuing this fic to go anywhere, but a couple of reviews asking about whether or not the Normandy crew would show up got me thinking. And so, here it is.

Odd thing I did was I accidentally made Naruto and Kushina a little more…intellectual since every time I thought of an Asari, I kept thinking of Liara and her bookworm tendencies. When I realized this, I tried to balance out some of the intelligence of the Asari and the goofiness of Kushina and Naruto.

The names I gave both Naruto and Kushina are kinda throw away names. Naruto will still be known as Naruto and Kushina will still be known as Kushina.

Now, for Naruto himself. Since the Asari are considered "mono gender" which I think is just the makers using that as a way to say they can just get with both genders, I am going to stick with Naruto being a "him". I read up on this and Asari could go with either "him" or "her". I'm thinking of having Naruto be male most of the time but when he changes to his Asari form, it will switch to "her". Because no matter what, I can't help but think of Asari as female. This might be confusing but I will do my best to make it work

Now for his age…..no clue. I was planning on having Naruto be at the canon age of 12 but I KNOW there will be questions about the pairings. As I said before, this just came out of nowhere and NOTHING was planned out. I could bump up his age to be closer to the others or I could lower the age of the others. Hell, I could call this "MASS EFFECT kids"

…..why does that sound like it would be hilarious?

Or I could say FUCK IT and keep him at age 12 or 13 and not change the age of the others and just not give a shit!

DAMN IT NOTHING IS PLANNED! why the hell did this come out of my head!? ARGH!

*deep breath* ok, we will see how this goes and I will handle the backlash as I always do…..by doing what my outro says I will do.

Female or male Shepard!? Leave that in a review too

And now, I'm going to work on my "how to train your dragon" fic since I want to finish that one! BAH HUMBUG grr, I stole Christmas, And where did this idea come from!
