AU. Jim in his troll-half form stumbles upon a strange door that takes him to another universe, where he encounters Hilda who has recently been turned into a troll and is trying to change back into a human. The two of them become friends as they try to return to being human and help both the trolls and the human citizens of Trolberg.

Chapter 3 Rescue

Hilda ran as fast as her little legs would carry her as the the big troll chased after her. The big troll swung his staff sideways and just barely missed hitting Hilda and the orb. Hilda continued running and the troll slammed his staff on the ground hard creating a shockwave that knocked Hilda off her feet and knocked the orb from her hand. The big troll stomped towards Hilda and raised his staff high above his head. Hilda whimpered in fear and closed her eyes expecting to meet a painful end. The troll swung downwards.

CLANG!

There was a mighty crash, but Hilda felt no pain. She opened her eyes to see that someone had stepped in front of her and had stopped the staff swing with a sword. The newcomer had blue skin, brown unkept hair, two low fangs, large horns, yellow sclera, pointy ears, and his righthand was bigger then his lefthand and appeared to be missing a pinky finger, while his lefthand was human-like with armor on it. The stranger was dressed in black armor with red trimming and a blank undershirt. Hilda was startled by her rescuer's appearance as well as the big troll.

"You alright?" Asked the stranger looking back at Hilda.

Hilda was stunned by the stranger's voice. It sounded like a normal teenager's voice not the voice you would associate with a monster or knight.

"I'm ok." Said Hilda as she got to her feet.

The stranger turned his attention back to the big troll.

"I really don't like bullies." Said the stranger before he gave a mighty push and actually sent the big troll stumbling back.

The big troll had a look of surprises on his face as he regained his balance. He did not suspect the arrival of the stranger nor the great strength the smaller creature possess. The big troll glared at the stranger before glancing at the orb, which had rolled a few dozen yards away. Hilda was making a run for the orb. The big troll let out a angry bellow and ran towards Hilda and the orb. The stranger quickly sprang into action and raced into action by running towards Hilda and quickly snatched her up to avoid being stomped on by the big troll as he ran by and picked up the orb. The big troll turned to face Hilda and the stranger with the orb in his righthand and his staff in his lefthand. He advanced towards Hilda and the stranger with a fierce look on his face.

"We need to leave." Said the stranger as he took stalk of their situation.

"No! I need that orb!" Cried Hilda as she tried to break free from the stranger's grip.

"Look I don't know what's going on or why you need that orb, but I don't think we can't beat this guy or take the orb from him, while it's in his hand. We need to focus on escaping for now then you can tell me what's going on and we can focus on making a plan to get that orb." Said the Stranger.

Hilda wanted to argue with the stranger, but she saw he had a point. She calmed down and nodded her head. The stranger focused on the giant troll as he leaped forward and slammed his staff down at them. The stranger dodged to the side to avoid the blow and his sword began to glow.

"Cover your eyes!" Ordered the stranger to Hilda.

Hilda did as she was told and the sword unleashed a flash of bright light that blinded the big troll making him reel back. The stranger took this opportunity to make a run for it carrying Hilda as the big troll roared in anger. In a matter of minutes both Hilda and the stranger were far away from the castle ruins. It was a successful rescue.
