Jim stood surrounded by trolls who clapped and cheered for him, for standing up to the two headed troll and for beating the bully and sending him running. Hilda made her way through the trolls and stood next to Jim and smiled. Jim may have looked different from the other trolls, but the trolls recognized him as a fellow troll and respected him for what he just did. Trylla then appeared among the trolls and made her way to Hilda and Jim.
"Hilda there you are. I've been looking everywhere for you." Said Trylla.
"Hey, Trylla, I was out and about and I made a new friend. His name is Jim and he just beat that troll bully with two heads." Said Hilda.
"He did? I must say that's impressive. Those two have always been a problem. It's about time someone stood up to them." Said Trylla.
"It was no problem. It's what I do." Said Jim.
"Well you have all our thanks. Why don't you come join me and Hilda in our cave?" Said Trylla.
"I'd love to." Said Jim.
The three of them left the other trolls and headed to Trylla's cave and sat down. It was there that Hilda decided to ask questions about Trundle.
"Trylla, what do you know about a troll named Trundle?" Asked Hilda.
"Quite a bit, but where did you hear that name?" Said Trylla looking a little concerned.
"Oh I just overheard some trolls mention it." Said Hilda.
"Well Trundle is a very bad troll and he used to be the Mountain King." Said Trylla.
"The Mountain King!" Said Hilda looking freaked out.
Trylla nodded her head.
"Um, I'm new to these parts, so I don't know who that is." Said Jim.
"Oh, well long ago the trolls had no leaders, so Trundle declared himself as our leader and called himself the Mountain King. Trundle was very influential among the trolls and had quite of bit of magic knowledge. For a time things were peaceful, but then Trundle began to make plans to attack Trolberg and it's inhabitants. Some trolls were with Trundle and some of us weren't. Those who were against Trundle ambushed him, while he was asleep, removed his magic eye, and locked him in a cave, with several bells covering the entrance from ever leaving." Said Trylla.
Hilda felt a cold chile go down her spine as she realized she removed the bells on Trundle's cave and got rid of them. She then asked another question.
"So Trundle had a magic eye, what happened to it?"
"Trundle's older brother Brundle took the eye back to Trundle's palace and placed it with the treasure horde and has been guarding it ever since. Even if Trundle was able to breakout of his cave, he would be blind and fairly helpless without it." Said Trylla.
That helped put Hilda's mind at ease. Jim asked a question of his own.
"So what happened to Trundle's followers?"
"Most of them just gave up, when Trundle was locked away. None of them could stand against Brundle to get the eye back and none of them could breach the walls of Trolberg or get by the bells." Said Trylla.
That helped put Hilda's mind more at ease. Trundle wasn't a threat and Hilda didn't need to worry about him getting out.
"So Hilda tells me, she used to be a human and you put a changeling spell on her to change her into a troll and your troll daughter into a human, who now lives in Trolberg." Said Jim.
"It's true and now that I think about it, it wasn't ok and I regret what I did, but I don't know how to undo the spell." Said Trylla looking guilty.
"Hey don't beat yourself up. I'll help return your daughter and undo the spell. I even have a way to get me and Hilda back into Trolberg." Said Jim.
"How?" Asked Hilda.
"By walking through the front door as humans." Said Jim as he rummaged through his bag and pulled out a glamour mask.
Hilda and Trylla watched as Jim placed the mask on his face. There was a flash of light and Jim now stood before the two trolls in his human form. Hilda and Trylla were shocked by this. Jim reached into his bag and pulled out another glamour mask and gave it to Hilda.
"This is called a glamour mask. It's used for disguises. It can change your looks and voice. All you have to do is think about what and who you want to be and put it on. Also it won't protect you from the sun, so we can't walk about in the daytime." Said Jim.
Hilda examined the mask and pictured herself in her human form as she put it on. There was a flash of light and Hilda found herself in her human form.
"Incredible!" Said Hilda looking down at herself.
"And to take the mask off just reach up and imagine removing the mask and it'll come right off." Explained Jim.
"Got it." Said Hilda.
They now had a way to get into Trolberg.
To be continued.
