Chapter 8 Family Reunited

In Hilda's universe it was nighttime, Hilda and Jim had left the mountain and had headed towards Trolberg. When they saw the walled city Jim and Hilda placed the glamour masks on and assumed their human disguises before heading to one of the gates. The Safety Patrol officers manning the gate were a little surprised to see a teenage boy and a young girl approaching the gate at such a late hour, but since the two appeared to be humans they were let into the city.
Hilda couldn't believe she was finally within Trolberg. All she had to do was head home to be reunited with her mom and friends and then they could focus on undoing the changeling spell to turn her back into a human and return Trylla's daughter to her. Maybe along the way of figuring that out they could figure out a way to help Jim return to being a human.
As Hilda and Jim walked to Hilda's neighborhood, Hilda felt that weird calling feeling she got back in the mountain, only this time it was much stronger and it felt like it was coming from right under Hilda's feet. The calling made Hilda stop walking and stand very still.
"What's up?" Asked Jim.
"I don't really know. Something or someone is calling to me and it feels like it's coming from underground." Said Hilda.
"Is it a troll?" Asked Jim.
"I'm not sure. Will look into later. My home is close by." Said Hilda.
The two continued walking, until they reached Hilda's home. Hilda took a deep breath and knocked on the door. A few seconds later Johanna answered the door and a look of surprise appeared on her face when she saw Hilda.
"Mom..." Said Hilda.
Johanna just grabbed Hilda and hugged her as tears fell from her eyes.
"Oh Hilda thank goodness you're safe! I was so worried for you!" Said Johanna.
"I miss you too mom!" Said Hilda as she hugged her mother back.
"But wait, you're human now. Shouldn't Baba be a troll now?" Said Johanna glancing at Hilda before looking back into the house to look at a baby Baba still in human form playing with some blocks.
"I'm still a troll, I'm just wearing a magical disguise that makes me look human to get back inside the city. My new friend Jim gave it to me." Explained Hilda as she introduced Jim.
"I'm Jim, it's nice to meet you." Said Jim.
"Well Jim it's nice to meet you and you have my thanks for bringing my daughter home. Are you some kind of wizard?" Said Johanna looking Jim up and down.
"I know a wizard, but I'm not one. I'm kinda of in a similar situation as your daughter." Said Jim.
"You're a human that became a troll?" Asked Johanna.
"I am and I want to help Hilda turn back into a human as well as reunite the troll mom with her child." Said Jim.
"Well come on in then. I feel we have a lot to discuss." Said Johanna.
Jim and Hilda entered the house and Johanna closed the door.
