Jim in his troll-half form stumbles upon a strange door that takes him to another universe, where he encounters Hilda who has recently been turned into a troll and is trying to change back into a human. The two of them become friends as they try to return to being human and help both the trolls and the human citizens of Trolberg.

Back in Jim's universe Claire was going down the same tunnel that Jim had previously gone down searching for Jim. After some more walking and searching Claire came across a large with chamber with the stone door that had opened and transported Jim to Hilda's universe. Claire cautiously approached the door and studied. She may not have been a magic expert, but previous experience with magic items told Claire that the stone door before her wasn't an ordinary door and that it most likely had something to do with Jim's disappearance. It also helped that Claire could read troll writing and could read what was written on the door. Claire studied the door for a bit and then she head back to Trollmarket to bring in some experts.

Claire located Blinky first and recruited him telling him about the door and how it might be responsible for Jim's disappearance. The two then located Merlin in his study working on various potions.

"Merlin we have a problem." Said Claire.

"What is it?" Asked Merlin as he mixed some colored liquids together.

"Jim is missing and when I went to look for him in the caves I came across a strange door with carvings of trolls on the side of it. There was also some writing on the door that read 'Through these doors a tribe of trolls set out to find a new home and life away from Gumm-Gumms and other frights', I don't know what it means, but I think Jim's disappearance might have something to do with them." Said Claire.

Merlin stopped what he was doing as a serious expression appeared on his face as he faced Claire and Blinky.

"Show me this door." Said Merlin.

Claire lead Merlin and Blinky to the door. Merlin's eyes went wide as he went over to the door and placed a hand on it.

"The lost tribe." Said Merlin.

"Lost tribe?" Asked Claire.

"Long ago there was a tribe of trolls fairly skilled in magic. Unlike other trolls that are turned to stone and killed by sunlight, these trolls merely turned to stone by the sunlight and by night they were able to move once again. The Gumm-Gumms tried to force and recruit them for their cause, but they refused to and fled to other lands." Explained Merlin.

"I think I remember hearing about them." Said Blinky.

"So this door transported this tribe to other parts of the world?" Asked Claire.

"It's not that simple. After the Gumm-Gumms were sealed away in Darklands and I and the Trolls came to America I began to ask around and do a little research on the lost tribe and their whereabouts. I learned they faced some other troubles in America and that they formed an alliance and a friendship with magical creatures called Nisse. Together they created a door that would take them to a new world." Said Merlin.

"So...wait. You're...saying Jim isn't in our world anymore?" Said Claire.

"Correct. Young Master Lake is on a different world in a different universe." Said Merlin.

"We must rescue him!" Said Blinky.

"How did Jim get sucked into another universe?" Asked Claire.

"The amulet's magic must have triggered the door. Now don't fret I think I can open this door up, but we're going to need a few things to do that as well as get us back home." Said Merlin as he walked back towards Trollmarket.

"Don't worry Jim, will get you home." Said Claire to the door as she and Blinky followed after Merlin.
