Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters. I am just fiddling around with them.

Notes: I am not a native English speaker. So please forgive me for any mistakes that I make. This is the first ever fanfic I am writing or first ever anything that I am writing. I am bound to make mistakes and not very good at expressing the feelings the characters are feeling, in writing, so please understand if the story seems vague. I will work hard and try to express the feelings and the trauma as best as I can. Thank you. Constructive criticism and advice are welcome.

Chapter 1

THE DREAM

Daenerys woke up drenched in sweat, gasping and shivering, her breath short making it desperate to breathe in air to fill her lungs with.

Is she dead?

She looked around and found herself at her chambers in Dragonstone and she remembered reaching Westeros the day before. Then that must mean what she saw was a dream. She could not comprehend anything she just saw. Is it real? Is it going to happen? Did it happen? Or is it just a dream and nothing more?

That's not possible, because she felt the pain that came with every mistake she made and every loss she went through in her dreams. It can't be just a dream. Maybe she is someone like Daenys the dreamer. Targaryens existed because of the dream that Daenys dreamt. The doom of Valyria. She herself dreamt about her dragons, hadn't she?

No, she must be dead. He did stab her and she did take her last breath in his arms. Didn't she? Then what is she doing in Dragonstone again? Is this where people go after they die? But he said there was nothing after he died. He said that he felt nothing and he could not remember anything and there was just, nothing.

This must be a vision. She took a deep breath and went over again in her head what she saw in her vision.

The loss after loss, because of Tyrion's plans, the loss of Viserion, her sweet, gentle child. The north, the supposed to be honorable north's enmity, their hate and revulsion towards her just because she was the mad king's daughter, the loss of Jorah and half her army trying to prove the north that she is not there to burn them, but just there to save their ingratitude asses which cost her everything. It broke her and like that wasn't enough she lost another child, her precious Rhaegal, her mischievous son and Missandei her sweet, sweet sister.

Of course there is a man with a better claim to her throne, that she spent her entire life working towards. There is always a man, isn't there? She knew that stark girl would do that but Tyrion, he betrayed her.

From when, she did not know. Maybe he was playing a long game. Make her trust him and stab her in the back when she comes to Westeros. Maybe he was planning to screw her from the start for his wretched family. Well, he succeeded.

Varys, the spider. She should have known that he would betray her the moment he said that he serves the realm and not her and she was the best option the realm could have then. The moment he found out that there is another heir to the throne he betrays her. What did she expect? That he would see that she is just grieving her losses and not becoming mad like her father. Of course not. No one would. She will always be the mad king's daughter waiting to be mad herself on a moment's notice. Waiting to burn everything on her path.

She did. She did burn them all just like her father's wishes, didn't she? She burnt the children, the men and the women who did no harm to her. She did go mad. She was angry and she was grieving and took it out on the innocents, didn't she? After burning them all she called it freedom and even made a speech to her army saying that she is going to give freedom to the world. She became everything she strived not to be. She did everything she worked hard not to. In the end nothing mattered to her. She betrayed herself.

She should not feel this way about him then. She betrayed herself, so what if he betrayed her? She should not feel this longing after what he did to her. She should be angry at him and everybody else who betrayed her but she just couldn't find herself feeling that anger on anyone. Not Tyrion, not Varys, not Sansa and not even Jon.

Jon

She loved him so much. Beyond what is considered healthy. She gave everything to him. She abandoned her life goal, her sense of security in finding a home so that she did not need to run again ever from one place to another. She gave away herself freely, not like what she did with Daario, not at all. She gave away everything to him just because she felt like she could belong with him, or at least belong with anyone. She thought she was going to gain a family and if throwing away her life goal in the process was what it took, so be it. That was what she thought. But she did not gain a family, she lost everything in the process and she did not even realize she had a family, that she made a family for herself.

Where did it all go wrong? Why did she listen to Tyrion and did everything he wanted without questioning? Why did she not listen to people who were with her her whole life and listened to Varys who she knew on some level would betray her at any chance he gets? Why did she not listen to her instincts like she always did?

The Westerosi in her life and in her vision did bring her nothing but misery. Her father, the mad king, what did he do to her? He made her life miserable even after being dead. Everyone in her life judged her not as Daenerys Stormborn, but only as the mad king's daughter.

Her brother Viserys, what did he do to her? He beat her; he sold her to be a broodmare and as an exchange for an army so that he can sit in the throne while she lives in 'Dosh Khaleen'. He told her stories about the iron throne and about the people waiting for their arrival secretly sewing Targaryen sigils, setting her on this path that she took, leading to her death.

Her other brother, Rhaegar, what did he do to her? He followed prophecies around, thought himself to be "the prince that was promised", and started a rebellion that made her life a living hell. Nobody thought he was also the mad king's son. They only thought that of her. He gave her nothing but hell.

Her lord hand, Tyrion Lannister, what did he do to her? He made a deal with the slavers and destroyed in a day what she had been trying to do for moons. He made plans after plans which brought nothing but loss. He betrayed her by telling about Jon to Varys and in the process tried to kill me. He loved his deranged family and not her. He accepted her sister's mistakes and did not think she was mad for blowing up a sept full of innocent people. He denied to accept her and denied to support her in her lowest moments and thought her mad for having to deal with loss, for having to deal with her life goal being in tatters. But he thought Daenerys was mad. He never believed in her. He might as well have betrayed her from the start.

Varys, what did he do to her? He judged her constantly and waited for the signs that she was turning mad anytime so that he could betray her. He concluded that she became mad when she was just grieving her child and her dear friend and then poisoned her. He almost killed her.

Sansa, she did everything in her power to break Daenerys. She set the example in how the north treated them, an army who came to help them. She told Tyrion Jon's parentage so that information can be used against Daenerys. She knew how the information would be wielded. She knew that the information would kill Daenerys. She did it anyway so that she can be the Queen in the north. She did not do it because of the people in the north like she claimed. She did it for herself and herself only.

Arya, the favorite sister of Jon. Daenerys thought they would become friends and at least she would find a family in her. But no, Daenerys is not one of them and she will never be one of them. Daenerys did not even meet Arya in her vision. Daenerys is not blind or stupid. She heard about the incident at The Twins, and seeing the way Arya fought, it does not take a genius to put it together. She knew she Arya was a faceless man or at least trained at the arts of a faceless man. She lived in Braavos long enough to know that. Talk about hypocrites.

Cersei Lannister promised them an army and did not keep that promise. Nobody thought it was bad. They all just took it in stride like they expected it from her. Then what about Viserion? Maybe they all planned it together, who knows? She beheaded my sweet sister Missandei. She drew the last straw.

Euron Grejoy killed Rhaegal. He shot him out of the sky. Her son.

Jon

What did he not do to her? He made her trust him. He made her love him. He made her think that he loves her. He rejected her when she needed him the most. He avoided her when she needed him the most and in the end he stabbed her in the chest. He killed her.

This was what Westeros did to her. But like a fool, she kept on believing them. She kept on trusting them with her life, with her children, with her people in the hopes of achieving some good in the world. She kept on helping them. And they kept on betraying her, stabbing her in the back. They broke her. They broke the faith and belief that she had in her. But she still believed them to be her people. She thought that Westeros was her home. How can someone be this stupid?

From now on she will stop trusting blindly and start believing in her and try to build the faith that they broke, try to build the compassion that they destroyed in her. She will become stronger and stand above all that she went through.

She will survive them. She will survive in spite of them.
