In which Percy is determined to play herself, and she makes a new friend! Also, so many reviews to reply to! EEEK! They all came through. Also I have no clue how to make movies lol. And I love the minific so far, seriously there's some angst there but there's also just so much sweet stuff.
Replies:
Jason: Yes, yes it has!
Drizzle: Yep, that is in fact how they meet, and why they get to know each other.
JjlovesPJO: That it is! And lol, oh well.
Ryan Fowler: I mean, it's a possibility lol.
The Singing Magician: Percy would probably also add 'warrior' don't forget that.
Undeath9087: Yep. Which will change a lot about Piper's life actually. And yeah, right now she'd like some normal time.
Jubby1905: Percy would love that let's be real.
Thickneck: Percy just there like 'Oh, you're the king of the Greek gods. Hm, boring!'
Ryan Fowler: Percy loves causing chaos, and there will be fun stuff with that in the future.
Guest: So many questions lol. But uh, the first Greek deity Percy meets will not technically be a god of goddess. But they will be a good guy.
Guest: No, just old ladies, and we will see one of them properly at a later date lol.

Percy wasn't sure how long it usually took to make a movie- her mom had offered to write up the script of course- and the guy paying for it was apparently very eager to get his daughters favorite book onto the big screen for her.

Which was why they started looking into casting after only four months- and they'd agreed to let Percy try for the role- and she was very happy about that- and her first audition had gone well- she'd been asked to come back and try reading some of the lines with some of the other possible actors- and Percy was actually really excited- it would be awesome playing herself.

She was sat in the waiting area with Carter- her mom was in a meeting with her publishers about the progress of her third book- which was well under way, so Carter had brought her.

She was sat there, swinging her legs as she looked around the room curiously- and she spotted a girl sat in the corner.

She was around Percy's age, maybe a little bit younger, her skin was darker, she had choppy brown hair- like she'd cut it herself- she was wearing ripped jeans and a slightly worn out looking tee, she was looking down at a book, though based on the scowl on her lips she wasn't doing very well.

Percy glanced at Carter, who was on his phone- he'd been in talks about having classes for some of the older magicians interested in learning the Path of the Gods- since Brooklyn House was currently the only Nome with any experience with it.

Since he seemed busy she shrugged to herself and stood up, making her way over to the girl, coming to a halt in front of her. "Hi."

And the girl looked up- and wow- wow those eyes were so cool- they seemed to almost change color in different lights- like a kaleidoscope.

"Uh- hi?" the girl blinked slowly, a confused look on her face- and Percy did notice the way those awesome looking eyes lingered on Percy's hair, a curious gleam in them- after all she'd probably never seen hair quite so white before.

"Are you here trying for Ariadne?" Percy asked cheerfully as she dropped onto the seat next to the girl.

"No, no I'm not-"

"But you're too young to be trying for anyone else." Percy blinked, tilting her head curiously- and the girl hesitated.

"I'm not- it's my dad." the girl told her, "He's trying to get to be the dad or the uncle."

"Cool." Percy grinned widely. "I'm Percy by the way." Percy held out her hand hopefully, "And you are?"

"I'm Piper." the other girl stared for a long moment before she extended her own hand and gripped Percy's, shaking it firmly, "So you're like, an actress?"

"Uh-" Percy rubbed the back of her neck, a sheepish grin on her face, "Not yet. This is my first time."

"That's cool." Piper tilted her head, "You like the book then?"

"Uh, yeah." Percy's lips twitched, "My mom's kinda the one who wrote it-"

"What?" Piper's eyes went wide and she leaned forward slightly, shutting the book in her lap quickly, "Really?"

"Yep." Percy popped the P, "Yeah, Ariadne's actually kinda based on me- and Senna and Cyrus are based on my big sister Sadie and my big brother Carter." she told Piper, "Mom started writing it after our dad- after he passed away."

"I didn't know that- and you want-"

"Well my sister and I were joking about how super duper weird it would be seeing other people playing us so we decided I should try out."

"That's one reason to try I guess." Piper laughed, shifting so that she was facing Percy better. "You'll definitely get it then if your mom's the author."

"Nah." Percy shook her head, "Mom told me that if I want it it gotta work for it- but I mean, she's literally based on me-" she grinned, "So I definitely got an edge. And I won't have to bleach my hair a bunch for the second book."

"Is- is your hair natural then?" Piper looked hesitant, as if she wasn't sure she was allowed to ask. And Percy bit her lip.

"Something happened last year." she said after a moment, "My hair turned white overnight. It was- it sounds kinda weird I know but it's natural if you just mean that I didn't dye it."

"Doesn't Ariadne's hair turn-"

"Yep." Percy laughed, "I was kinda insecure about my hair at first so mom decided to write it into the books somehow." that was the story Sally had given one person who'd asked her, so that was what Percy was sticking with.

"That's actually really sweet." Piper admitted, "I've kinda tried reading the books but it's hard." her face scrunched up. "I'm only reading this one for school." she leaned down as she spoke, pulling a backpack out from under her chair, unzipping it and pushing the book back into the bag.

"You don't like reading?"

"It's just hard." Piper shrugged slightly as she did the zip up again and focused on Percy. "So what's it like? Your mom's books are really popular."

"I dunno." Percy shrugged, "I mean, it's not the weirdest thing in my life. What about you? I mean your dads an actor right?"

"It's nothing that special." Piper ducked her head, "I think he's pretty good but he's not exactly super famous or anything. If he gets the part here then it'll probably be the biggest part he's ever had. I helped him run over the lines when were were on our way here." she told him. "He's been really stressed out about it." and Piper looked kind of worried too. Percy didn't like that.

"Why's he so stressed?"

"My grandpa's sick." Piper admitted, "We're not sure what's wrong yet but- he's sick and we all know it. My dad- he
needs the money to pay for tests and things."

"Oh." Percy blinked "That- that's sad." she felt sorry for the other girl.

Piper managed a shrug, ducking her head, "My grandpa says we shouldn't worry about him and that he'll be fine. And my dad told me I don't have to worry either but-" she gave a half hearted little shrug. "I just want him to be okay."
"He will be." Percy reached out, grabbing Piper's hand, "I bet your dad's super good. He'll get the job and he'll be able to pay for all the tests that your grandpa needs." and- and if not- well, maybe she could ask her mom if she could help them. After all the Kanes weren't exactly short on money.

"I hope so." Piper seemed to brighten up slightly, a smile spreading across her lips, "You really think it's gonna be okay?"

"I mean, I can't see the future or anythin' crazy like that but... I mean, I got a good feeling."

And then Piper was lurching forward, hugging Percy tightly, and Percy blinked rapidly before hugging the other girl back just as tightly.

"Thank you." Piper's voice was soft. "For coming over and saying hello."

"Well you looked lonely." Percy pulled back, tucking a stray curl behind her ear, "and that seemed sad to me."

"I-"

"Persephone Kane?" and Percy winced as the voice called her name- turning her head to look towards the woman stood in the now open doorway, eyes scanning the room.

"Here!" Percy gave a little wave, glancing back towards Carter- who was tucking his phone away and standing up.

"You're up, come on through."

"Uh- maybe I'll see you around."

"Hopefully." Piper gave a slightly shy smile, and she waved as Percy moved over to Carter, grabbing her brothers hand before they headed in.

And two weeks later- a week after the phone call officially offering Percy the part she wanted, when Percy and Sally went to officially meet the rest of the cast she was very happy when she spotted the man she'd had to run some of the lines with during her call back audition- a tall man, handsome enough who had been cast as Amos- he'd been nice during the auditions so Percy was fairly happy with that. And she was even happier when she spotted the girl stood next to him.

She pulled her hand free from her moms, beaming widely as she rushed towards her quickly. "Piper!"

And Piper turned, her face lighting up when she spotted Percy, and they met halfway. "Percy!" Piper was beaming widely as she grabbed Percy's hands, "You were right Percy! My dad got the part- he's said once he gets paid he'll have enough money to pay for my grandpa's tests- and the guy funding the film's said that if he can he wants to turn all of the books into films so that means he'll get even more money and we'll be able to look after him."

"That's great." Percy declared brightly- "Does that mean I'll get to see you again?"

"Yeah, dad doesn't want to leave me with grandpa since he's sick at the moment so I've gotta stay with him while he's here. It makes school stuff awkward but- dad's considering renting a place if we have enough money and enrolling me in a school temporarily here."

"That sounds awesome." Percy grinned.

And it was, a lot of the filming would be done in Brooklyn because of Sally insisting on that much- if Piper stayed in Brooklyn with her dad maybe she could go to Brooklyn Academy.

"Percy, honey-" Percy turned her head at the sound of her mom's voice as Sally walked towards them with a slightly raised eyebrow. "Who's this?"

"Mom, meet Piper. She's my new friend." and Piper smiled at that.

"Friend?"

"Well yeah." Percy gave her a serious look, "I figure we're gonna be seeing a lot of each other if you're coming with your dad here. And it'll be really great to have someone my age to hang around with."

And Piper's return smile made Percy feel warm.

"It would be nice to have a friend here."
