In which Percy has fans.

Undeath9087: Someone else has guessed already but your guesses weren't bad. And yes- she's referenced in this chapter actually.
Thickneck: Yeah, yeah Percy would do that. And Piper would just be exasperated after the first few times.
Jubby1905:She may choose to for reasons that will be explained.
Guest: Percy old Piper everything- and her magic was more a demonstration that it was all real lol. And yes, Piper will essentially move in because that way her dad can travel around more for his acting and she has a more stable home life.
Fugy: It would be kind of funny I will admit.
rl15425: Nope, just a pretty shell. And I have lots of things planned, you'll have to wait and see how it all works, but Percy definitely speaks her mind so her and Zeus is gonna be entertaining. And the main ship will be Pipercabeth. And No Poseidon has no clue that Sally is blood of Pharaohs.
chadbunger: Thank you! And it'll be Pipercabeth.
Noir Nyan: You shall see soon! And ding ding ding we have a winner. What do you want a hint about?
Guest: Apollo would definitely be the sidekick, that just made me laugh
Jason: Very good point.
Guest: I don't know exactly but we know that in canon to use Egyptian Magic Sadie tells Annabeth her secret name, which Annabeth quickly forgets after.
Guest: She just doesn't realise it yet lol. And Percy enjoys calling people out.
Drizzle: It'll be Pipercabeth- and the scene where Percy and Annabeth meet properly is just adorable and Annabeth is there falling in love without realising.
Guest: I don't honestly know- and I'm not too worried about accuracy on this front.
Guest2.0: I don't think Athena or Chiron would be that interested in a book aimed at kids/young teens. But if someone notices something off they may show it to one of them...
In Percy's opinion her life really couldn't get more perfect.
After her realisation about Piper things had shifted- she'd been able to be honest with the other girl- and that meant that Piper could even come over to Brooklyn House- a fact that Percy was very happy for as time passed.
Especially since Tristan was getting more and more job offers- which he was snapping up as fast as he could- that wasn't easy for Piper- but Sally hadn't even hesitated to offer to let Piper stay with them whenever he wasn't in town- which was more often than he was these days.
Piper fit right in at Brooklyn House too- it just made life easier for all of them.
Percy had received some requests to try out for roles too- though she turned most of them down- she enjoyed acting- but she did want to have a somewhat normal life at the same time- she wanted a balance- besides with how well the first two movies had done- the third was due to release a few days before Percy turned thirteen, in around seven months time, Percy had enough money in her savings account that she wouldn't have to worry much for a while when she did grow up and move out. Though she was considering accepting the offer that one casting director had reached out with.
The movie would be meant for younger audiences- about a Greek Princess, a mortal one not a demigod who wished to be a hero rather than some picture perfect princess. Which- admittedly it wouldn't be the most accurate to history but- as the casting director had pointed out it was very much in Percy's ballpark and she did like the sound of the movie.
She actually had a meeting with them in a few weeks time to discuss it- which her mother would also be attending of course- Sally was very stern about that.
Of course with Piper around there were one or two issues with the more Greek monsters- but nothing that the two girls couldn't deal with.
Piper had- after some initial reluctance, agreed to train with her power with words- and she was very good at getting anyone who attacked them to do what she wanted- and she also had some combat training too- hand to hand mostly, though she was experimenting with daggers- apparently full on swords weren't her style- Percy had protested that statement- after all how could swords ever not be someone's style? They were awesome.
But alas it seemed that Piper's tastes weren't always perfect.
In any case- the monsters really didn't stand a chance against either of the girls, and Piper had gained a lot of confidence in learning about her heritage.
And of course their friendship was if anything stronger.
Piper had grown up a lot- it hadn't taken her long to get tired of people pestering her about her dad- of people wanting to be friends just because of Tristan and Percy's presence in her life, but she didn't mind that so much, she could ignore it if she had Percy.
And she did find a lot of the girly girl stuff kind of ridiculous and annoying- largely because Tristan's new publicist had tried to force her to dress up pretty all the time like a doll- and the way she'd framed it made it clear that she thought that Piper was somehow letting her father down if she didn't. She'd told Percy that she'd ripped her tee and jeans and got them dirty just to spite the infuriating woman- who Percy had pranked by coating her jacket in itching powder.
Still, it could have been worse, Piper had admitted that much to Percy. If it wasn't for the balancing forces in her life she'd have gotten a lot more angry and resentful- especially since there were a string of toxic women trying to get into Tristan Mclean's good books and Tristan, as much as he loved Piper, was very much caught up in his work.
But she had the Kanes and Percy- and somehow that helped her. Piper didn't even mind going some of the more girly things, as long as it was with Percy. A fact that Percy loved- because, well, she did enjoy the girly stuff sometimes. Often going shopping with Percy, who liked to prepare in advance and she always picked out her own dresses and outfits for the premiers of the movies, though that wasn't what they were doing on this day as they wandered through the streets of Manhattan, linked arm, Percy already had a bag dangling off one arm- it was a set of books for Carter for Christmas- since it was only four days away.
Percy had mostly gotten everyone presents of course, but she'd wanted to pick up a few extra's- and Piper was picking up some things for her dad too- though they'd been told that he wouldn't be able to make it home in time.
That had been upsetting for Piper- but, since that meant that they didn't have to be in the city for Christmas, they could visit the First Nome and spend the day with Amos.
It wouldn't be Piper's first time there- Percy quite often dragged the younger girl off to explore all over the words- Piper loved it she knew. Especially when they'd visited France and discovered that she was, in fact, fluent in French.
In any case, the two girls were headed to a small cafe that Percy had been to a few times that did some awesome pastries when Percy heard what could only be described as a squeal.
She turned her head to look towards the source of the noise- blinking at the sight.
It came from a girl stood by the Empire State building- Percy blinked- she could see a bunch of kids heading into the building in orange tees.
Weird.
Maybe they were there on a school trip or something- probably not but still, it was a possibility right?
Percy dismissed those thoughts-mostly because the girl who had squealed was grabbing a tall blond boys arm and saying something before she took off- rushing towards Percy and Piper.
"Uh oh." Piper laughed, "It's another one."
"It might not-"
"You're Percy Kane!" and clearly it was. Percy forced down a bubble of laughter at the smug look on her best friends face.
"Yes. Yes I am."
"Oh my- this is so cool." the girl was very pretty, with long sleek wavy black hair and bright blue eyes that were shining with excitement- and Percy looked at her curiously- she had a necklace- a string of some kind of beads around her neck, and her orange shirt had a picture of a Pegasus and- some kind of writing on them. Percy decided against wasting time trying to read it.
"Uh, thanks." Percy smiled almost sheepishly.
"I-" the girl was blushing, "I'm sorry you probably get this all the time-"
"She really does." Piper grinned widely, and Percy kicked her ankle, giving her a little glare that just made Piper snicker before she turned her attention back to the girl.
"Sometimes- it's not a huge deal-"
"I just- me and my friend are huge fans." the girl told her quickly, "I've read all three of the books- your moms amazing by the way and- Ariadne is like, my favorite character-" and Percy could almost feel the way Piper was trying not to laugh beside her.
"Thank you that's really sweet-"
"And you were amazing you were just how I imagined her to be in the movie- and my friend loves you too- neither of us have actually seen the newest one yet- we can't really go to the movies but my dad's getting me the DVD when it comes out, he said he'd send it to me and I can't wait to see it- and she'll have finished the second book by then so I'll be watching it with her and I just-" the girl was blushing, "I mean I saw you and I just- with that hair I figured it had to be you."
"It does stand out." Percy grinned slightly, tucking a loose curl behind her ear, "I hated wearing the wigs while filming the
first two films-"
"It must have been so weird- and- I was wondering-"
"If I could sign something?" this wasn't Percy's first rodeo. "Or take a picture with you?"
"I don't have a phone or I totally would." the girl looked somewhat upset about not being able to take a picture. "But- if you could sign something-I think I have-"
"I have a pen.." Percy pulled it out of her pocket- "Never go anywhere without one these days." she winked- and the girl looked like she was about to explode- her face went red. "Do you have something I could sign?"
The girls smile dropped at that- her eyes going wide, "I- I don't have anything- unless- you could sign my shirt?"
"I mean, as long as you won't get in trouble."
"It'll be fine!" the girl grinned eagerly, "If you could sign it 'To Silena-"
"Sure Silena." well, she had a name now. Percy pulled the cap off her pen- thankfully it was a marker- Percy found they wrote on most things people could want signed, and Silena held out her shirt so that Percy could write on it- and Percy carefully wrote out the message before leaning back- and Silena's smile was so wide that Percy couldn't help but feel kind of happy.
"Thank you so much for this." she took a step back, "It's amazing- reall-"
"SILENA!" that was the blonde boy- Percy couldn't tell much about him from a distance- but Silena's eyes widened.
"Crap I gotta go join my friends- thank you so so much for this-" she squealed, "I can't believe I actually got to meet you- she's going to be so jealous!" with that she was whirling around, hair flying out behind her as she ran back to join blond boy and head inside of the building.
Percy blinked, staring after her.
Then Piper slung her arm over Percy's shoulder, laughing loudly, "And the fangirls strike again-"
"Piper!" Percy's face went red, and Piper just laughed.
"Oh come on- that was really sweet." then she grinned, "I think she had a crush on you." she added that in a sing song voice.
"Piper!" Percy yelped the name, swatting her best friends arm lightly, "That's not funny don't be ridiculous-"
"Oooh Percy!" Piper mock gushed, "I can't believe I actually got to meet you!'" she shook her head, "And she has a crush on Ariadne too I bet- can you imagine how her head would explode if she realised it was literally just all you?"
"Stop teasing." Percy's cheeks were bright red as she bumped her shoulder against Piper's, "She was just a fan is all. C'mon. Let's go get to that cafe- I feel like a milkshake and a blueberry muffin-"
"You-" Piper laughed, "You and blue Percy- one day you're going to turn blue and no one is going to be surprised-"
"I mean- I did introduce you to my dad last year-"
"I-" Piper paused, "You have a point. I hate it when you have a point."
"Clearly I am just a genius." Percy linked her arm back through Piper's and together they took off again, Percy glancing back towards the Empire State building as they went.
And there was something niggling at the back of her mind, "Did you read what her shirt said?"
"You mean the writing that wasn't from you?" Piper asked playfully, "Not really. It was something about some sort of
camp. Why?"
"Probably nothing." Percy said slowly, "I just have a funny feeling is all. And- from what uncle Amos has said before- from what I know the Empire State building and it is the Solstice-"
"Is the new Olympus." Piper finished, clearly realising where Percy was going, "You think those kids were like us?"
"Maybe. Mom did say there was some kind of camp." she shook her head, "Doesn't matter I guess. I'll probably never see any of them again."
"True." Piper paused, "By the way- can we go to Greece and hike up Mount Olympus again next year- that was awesome."
"Sure." Percy shrugged, "Not like there's anything that special up there any more. Now let's go do our shopping and get home. We need to pack, we're leaving tomorrow afternoon."
