The next morning, I wake up Eldarion who has dozed off. I had my eyes closed for a moment, but I wasn't asleep. I need to look after Faramir, at least until he's in Rivendell. I walk over to the four hobbits and shake them awake slightly.

,,Faramir, Milo, Firiel, Hugo, we need to go." I whisper to them, not knowing if the Nazgul's are still here. They are awake immediately and Faramir rises out of bed next to me. He looks like a child, to be honest, even tho he's eighteen, just like me. I grab my magical longbow and put my knife back into my belt before following Eldarion and the four hobbits downstairs to the breakfast area. Most of the guests had fled last night when the Nazgul's showed up but not the bartender. He gives us a nice but small breakfast and I give him some extra coins. Being the granddaughter of the great elf king Elrond isn't so bad. Eldarion and I walk forward outside the tavern, looking closely if we see any Nazgul's but luckily they're not here. I walk over to my horse, a grey horse named Anduin. I help Faramir and Milo on my horse while Eldarion takes Firiel and Hugo on his horse. I put back on my hood and lead them out of Bree. We need to get out of here as quickly as possible because the Nazgul's can return. I have no idea where the Nazgul's are right now because the rain from last night has washed out the tracks and even tho I'm just as good as Legolas to find people through tracks, I can't track signs that don't exist.

It's already midday when we march through a gloomy, overgrown forest.

,,Where are you taking us?" Faramir asks me.

,,Into the wild." I say and pull Anduin further into the cover of the trees.

,,How do we know this strider is a friend of Gandalf?" Milo asks Faramir.

,,I think a servant of the enemy would look fairer and feel fouler." Faramir tells his friend.

,,She's foul enough."

,,Milo, we have no choice but to trust her." Faramir says.

,,Yeah, but where is she leading us to?" I stop, catch a glance at Milo.

,,To Rivendell, remember, master Milo? To the house of Elrond." I can see that Milo is excited to hear that and a little ashamed he forgot our conversation yesterday in the Prancing Pony.

,,Did you hear that? Rivendell. We're going to see the Elves!"

,,Becahir is an elf too, you know." Hugo says and I smile while keep on going. We can not delay.

,,Oh yeah, right. I just meant that we're going to see lord Elrond." Now he looks at Faramir. ,,Your father, Pippin, told me a lot of good stories about him."

,,You know about Elrond?" I'm surprised because none of them had a clue that the ring Faramir has is the one ring.

,,Yeah, my father got Bilbo's book about Thorin and the lonely mountain. The same book Sam has written in name of Frodo."

,,So then you must know about Sauron and the ring." I tell Faramir.

,,I know, but the ring seemed not important. Bilbo and Frodo wrote about marks that appeared on the ring, but I haven't seen it yet."

,,That's because it only shows those marks when the ring has been into the fire." I tell him and keep on walking.

,,What about you, Elda?" Hugo looks over to the human boy. ,,Are you excited to go to Rivendell, too?"

,,Yes, but I'll be on my way from there. I'm heading to Gondor."

,,He can only stay for the council, and then he has to go, just like the other humans that are coming. Since Uruk-Hai's slaughtered our citizens, humans are not welcome in Rivendell anymore and only because Aragorn didn't come to our aid." I tell the hobbits and Eldarion looks down.

,,Though story." Faramir looks at me for a moment. ,,Can we get off of these terrifying large horses, please?" I roll my eyes a little and want to say 'no', because we can not slow down, but Eldarion already tells them 'yes'. I look over at him.

,,Why would you allow them to walk?!" I yell at him through greeted teeth.

,,They need to rest, just like our horses."

,,Oh, my God. You're just as weak as all the other humans!" Now I see the hobbits pulling pots and pans out of their bags. ,,What are you doing?" I ask them.

,,It's midday."

,,So?" I pull Anduin with me. ,,We do not stop until nightfall." I tell them seriously, just as they pull some pork and mushrooms from their packs.

,,But what about breakfast?" Milo asks me.

,,We've already had breakfast."

,,We've had one, yes. But what about second breakfast?" I shake my head and walk away, followed by Eldarion. I look over my shoulder for one quick second and see that they clean up.

,,I don't think she knows about second breakfast, Milo." Hugo says. ,,Or about elevensies, luncheons, and afternoon tea." I laugh at their discussion, relieved they're still following Eldarion and me. I pull some apples out of my bag and toss one to every hobbit. They grab them happily.

,,You're not as tough as you let everyone believe." Eldarion says and smiles at me. ,,Underneath that toughness, there's a heart."

,,Don't act like my friend because we're not."

,,No, but we are related. You're my niece."

,,Just because you're officially my nephew because you are the son of my aunt, doesn't mean I want anything to do with you." I growl. ,,I don't want to travel with you or those hobbits. I will lead you to Rivendell, but that's it, okay?! I never want to see you or your father again after this, got it?!" I hiss at him and he raises his hands and takes a step backward. Resulting in me being the leading person.

Eventually, we reach the Midgewater Marshes. I smell it before I see it. The rotting plant matter and dense mud let off a stench that oozed out of the marshes, attracting flies and deterring wandering travelers. I take a deep breath before stepping forward and my boots immediately sink to my ankles in the mud. I turn to Anduin.

,,This is no place for you, Anduin." I tell my horse and release the headstall. ,,You'll find your way to Ford of Bruinen. Wait there for me and be careful." I watch my horse run away but Eldarion just keeps holding him. ,,Elda, if I were you I would release your horse." As stubborn as he is, he doesn't listen and keep on pushing his horse to come with him through the mud but the horse refuses. He pulls himself loose from Eldarion's grasp and runs off, probably following Anduin. Now I look over at the four hobbits who are in the mud knee-deep. We continue to trudge through the marshes, slapping furiously at the midges and biting flies.

,,What do they eat when they can't get hobbit?" Hugo asks frustrated about the biting flies but goes on. I watch the hobbits closely and see Firiel fall into the water, leaving him to fall behind. I order Eldarion to walk on with Faramir, Milo, and Hugo while I walk back to Firiel to help him. Luckily Eldarion listen to me this time. I come up behind Firiel and grab his arm, helping him up.

,,Thank you, Becahir." I nod and we continue our way until nightfall comes. We find a small but dry spot of grass.

,,Let's set up a camp." I tell them and they sit down with a sigh.

,,Thank God, my feet are killing me!" Hugo complains and I just sit down a little from the fire that Elda made. Faramir sits next to me.

,,I know you never wanted to travel with us but I still want to thank you for your help."

,,No problem, little hobbit." I tell him and lie down on my back. ,,Take some rest, we need to walk just as much as today." He nods and lies down too, way too close if you ask me.

,,Can you sing a lullaby? My parents used to sing me to sleep." I look at Faramir.

,,I know one song in Elvish."

,,Please, sing it for me."I sigh and just nod while closing my eyes to see her face.

,,Tinuviel elvanui, Elleth alfirin ethelhael. O hon ring finnil fuinui, a renc gelebrin thiliol."

,,Who is she?" I look at Faramir. ,,This woman you sing of."

,,Lady Elwing." I sit up a little and Faramir follows my example.

,,What happened to her?"

,,She died, just like Lady Celebrian."

,,Do you want to tell me what happened to Lady Celebrian. She was Lord Elrond's wife, right?" I nod. And my grandmother, but I won't tell you that.

,,Yes, she was. My father, Elrohir, and his brother, Elladan, rescued her from her imprisonment with the orcs. Although she was physically healed by Lord Elrond, she lost all joy from Middle-Earth and departed for the Grey Havens. That resulted in the growth of my father's hatred for the orcs. My father died protecting Rivendell from orcs four years ago."

,,I'm sorry to hear that." I smile at the small hobbit.

,,Get some sleep, Faramir." He shakes his head.

,,Please, tell me the story."

,,Are you going to sleep if I do?" Faramir nods. ,,Okay but this isn't a great story. Four years ago, my father and his brother went riding against orcs, but what they didn't know was that it was a distraction. While they were fighting those orcs, Uruk-hai came into Rivendell and slaughtered everyone they encountered. My mother was one of them." I look down at my hands. I shouldn't have told Faramir about my mother. Chloe doesn't even know what happened that day! But it's nice to get it off my chest for once. Luckily Eldarion doesn't listen right now, because he's fast asleep. ,,Lord Elrond asked king Aragorn for help, but he never came."

,,Did the elves defeat the Uruk-hai?"

,,That day, yes but there are new Uruk-hai in Isengard with Saruman."

,,Saruman? I thought Treebeard defeated him?"

,,No, he fled into his tower and nobody ever looked at him or Isengard again. It remained silent for years until four years ago. Saruman reached out to Sauron, telling him that the power of Isengard was in his command. Sauron ordered him to build him an army, worthy of Mordor. From that day he cut down trees and killed orcs to form a new army of Uruk-hai. Both the armies of Mordor and Isengard are larger than when the Fellowship had to defeat Sauron. Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and their companions did not succeed that quest and now it's up to others."

,,Will you go to Mordor?" I shake my head.

,,I'm not planning to. I agreed to take you to Rivendell, so the ring can be with my grandfather, but then I want to go to Mirkwood."

,,Lord Legolas is living there with his wife Tauriel, right?"

,,Yeah, they live there with their son Poldolas and daughter Chloelas. I want to live in Mirkwood to start a life together with Chloelas." I tell Faramir. Chloe doesn't know I want this... well, she doesn't know yet. I'm planning to tell her when I see her again.

,,I'm sorry that you lost your mother in that brutal way." Faramir looks at me and I give him a thankful look. Faramir lies down again now and is quickly fast asleep. I turn and look at the moon, wondering what will await me in Rivendell as I stare into the dark, acrid marshes.
