Back with Alise, she and the others had begun to run into trouble with the demi spirits. The two monsters quickly proved that they were more than a match for the four of them. Lyra proposed that they split into pairs of two and dealt with one each. She and Iska dealt with one while Alise and Neze handled the other. Try as they might, the silverbacks were overpowering them.

Alise: I can't afford to hold back here! Time to go all out!

She enhanced herself with her magic. Her body was enhanced with fire and she now could match a level 5. With this boost, she and Neze were able to push their demi spirit back. The monster was covered in cuts and blood before Alise thrusted her sword into its chest, killing it.

Neze: Quick, let's help Lyra and Iska!

Alise: I know!

The last silverback, seeing that its comrade had been slain, went into a fury. The four girl's felt its power rise from pure anger and watched it charge them, back handing Neze and Lyra away into the nearby buildings. Alise quickly went to work and fought it with Iska. They traded blows with their swords and fists until they were on their last legs. They couldn't handle much more but

Lyra: HYAAA!!!

BOOM*

There was an explosion and the monster roared in pain before disintegrating. The two turned and saw Lyra with a magic sword.

Alise: You had a magic sword?

Lyra: It's not a Crozzo magic sword, but it'll do the job about two more times.

They used their healing and stamina potions to recover. They went to look for people to help before they heard an explosion and a scream.

BOOM*

???: NOOOOOO!!!

They rushed quickly to the voice only to see Ardi crying over her sister's lifeless body.

Going back some time...

Shakti: Master Ganesha!

Ganesha: Shakti, I need you to get everyone moving outside. There are people out there who need our help, so we need to do our part.

Shakti: You heard him, let's move out!

Everyone: Yes, Ma'am!

And so, the Ganesha familia, with their large numbers, went out and rescued as many as they could. Anyone who was level 3 or higher went out to combat the evilus members who were attacking the city. Things were going well until more of these strange monsters began to pop out of nowhere. They were quickly overwhelmed by their power and killed as a result. Back at Babel tower was Finn who was organizing his familia from there. He had several of his members at different parts of the city to deal with major threats while he stayed to give orders and defend the tower.

Finn: Raul, what's the status on Gareth and Riveria?

Raul: Sir, they're currently dealing with an irregular wyvern among others.

Finn: And what of Ais?

Raul: I'm not sure...

Finn: (Damn, I can't just leave her to go find her, everything will go to chaos. On the other hand, she'll likely get herself killed if I don't. Gah, what do I do?)

Shakti: Braver!

The prum was brought out of his thoughts by the blue haired woman.

Finn: Shakti?

Shakti: There are irregulars everywhere! We can't deal with them on our own!

Finn: I've already spread our forces thin. Damn.

The two looked down in frustration.

Alfia: How pathetic. Is this supposed to be the familias who proceeded us?

The two turned and saw Alfia and Zald.

Finn: Silence and Gluttony!

Shakti: What are you doing here?!

Alfia: How noisy, we should deal with them quickly.

Zald: We'll lend our help, just tell us where the strongest are.

Finn: (Yes, this is just what we needed!) Well, there's a large concentration of these monsters in that direction. From what I've been reported, they ranged from levels 4 to 6.

Zald: Sounds like fun.

???: Then allow me to join.

They turned and saw the King walking towards them.

Finn: Ottarl?

Alfia: And what do you want?

Ottarl: I will be playing my part here. I promised myself to become as strong as possible for my goddess and to surpass the greatest of your familias. Lady Freya will be fine here, so I will join you in your fight.

Alfia: Hmm, alright. Just don't get in our way.

Zald: We should be off then.

And the three went off to combat the higher leveled demi spirits. Finn resumed his post and Shakti went to see where she could help. She ran from street to street until she saw her sister defending a group of children from evilus attackers. Ardi was having trouble protecting the kids and fending off the attackers at the same time so Shakti jumped in and joined her.

Shakti: Haa!

Kick*

Evilus Grunt: Gwoh?!

They saw the newly level 5 captain of the Ganesha familia and trembled a bit.

Ardi: Sister!

Shakti: Ardi, I can take them, just keep the kids safe!

And so, she quickly went and disposed of the attackers before returning to see how the children were doing.

Ardi: They're alright. They said they were being held captive by evilus and were looking for help.

Shakti: Well look no further, we will help you.

Child A: Thank you very much, Misses.

They two couldn't see, but the children had dead looks in their eyes. They were ordered to act as hostages but in reality, they were the real trap. They needed to lure the two to them as quickly as possible. The wrench in the plans was the girl who was crying. Ardi naturally went to see what she could do.

Ardi: Don't cry, everything will be fine, I promise.

Girl: *Sniffle* Mom *Sniffle* Dad, I want to see you again.

Ardi: ?!

Shakti heard a strange sound from both the girl and the rest of the children.

Shakti: Ardi!!

She grabbed her and tried to run away.

BOOM*

The explosions were chained together and caught the two women. Shakti could only shield her little sister as much as she could. They quickly tumbled on the ground while Shakti coughed up blood. Her sister opened her eyes to see little remains of the children, but widened at the sight of her sister.

Ardi: NOOOOOO!!!

???: Ardi!

She girl turned to see Alise along with Lyra, Neze and Iska.

Lyra: Oh shit!

Neze: What happened to Shakti!?

Ardi: Sh-She protected me from suicide bomber children.

Alise: Those monsters brought kids into this?!

Lyra: Those bastards!

Ardi: Please, she needs help!

Iska: Ardi, she's already gone.

Ardi: Don't be stupid, we can save her! We just have to find some healers and

???: And then what.

They looked and saw a pink haired woman at the far end of the street.

Lyra: Valletta...

Valletta: That's me, and I can see our little project worked well, hahahahaha!

Ardi: You mean...

Valletta: Yes, we had those kids trick you to coming close and they would blow themselves up along with you. They might have missed you, but they nailed a strong adventurer, hahahahaha!

Neze: You'll pay for this!

The werewolf girl stared angrily at the woman but the prum had to talk sense into her.

Lyra: We can't, she's a level 5.

Iska: (We still aren't fully recovered from our last fight. We can't beat her.)

Alise: Damn...

When all hope seemed lost for them, the saw a gold spear pierce the woman's shoulder.

Valletta: AHHH!!! WHO TRHEW THAT??!!!

She turned around and the color on her face drained at the sight of an angry Finn. He looked and saw how Shakti lay lifeless in her sister's arms.

Finn: (If I never sent her here then... damn it all!)

Valletta trembled in fear as the prum walked closer.

Valletta: What in the hell are you doing here?! Did you really come to just fight me?!

Finn: Fight you, no... after everything you've done to this city. I'm not here for a fight, I'm here for your life!

His eyes turned red and he threw a blow to the woman's head. After knocking her to the ground, he grabbed his spear from her shoulder and continued his assault. The woman was completely overwhelmed and quickly ran to where more grunts were.

Valletta: You all, buy time for my escape!

She quickly ran past them and the grunts turned to see Finn witha look of death on his face. A few seconds, that's all that was bought, but a few was all she needed before fading into the darkness of the streets and disappearing. Finn all but grunted in frustration after finishing the rest of the evilus members here. He returned to the girls only to see Ardi wail over her dead sister. Everyone there simply stared at the blood soaked dirt of the streets as they cursed their powerlessness.

Everything was happening at once, in another place, someone else was having their fair share of troubles.

Bell: Hah... hah...

They boy was out of breath as he held his sword. Ais was already down for the count as Bell faced off against a minotaur demi spirit on his own.

Bell: (I can't quit now, this monster will go on a rampage if it escapes.)

And in another place...

Alfia: This is an annoying one.

Zald: Who knew they had something like this.

Ottarl: Hah... hah... hah...

The three were facing of against the fomoire, which had already beaten Gareth and Riveria when they defeated the other monsters here. The beast had proven to be a challenge when it could withstand Zald and Alfia's attacks. Ottarl could barely keep up with it as the fight raged on.

???: Hahaha, just splendid! They run like ants out there!

One by one, multiple gods were being sent back to heaven as pillars of light rose to the sky. The god of Evilus watched from his divine mirror as the chaos took control of Orario.

Erebus: Mhm, and soon it'll get better.

(They'll have to overcome at least this if they want to be ready for what comes next.)

AN: Okay, that's it for the next part of this arc. Bell and his friendsweren't the only ones to get upgrades, Evilus a few tricks of their own. Who knows how they'll get through this? Next up is Bell vs another minotaur.
