Another 3 months went by, and nothing major had happened since the expedition. Bell had gone back to his daily routine of training with the others. Being level 5, training in the Coliseum had gotten even easier. His stats allowed him to tear through them all quickly and the Xenos steadily grew along with him. The number of them grew as well. Currently they were discussing an idea they've had for some time.

Lyd: You guys think it's time? I don't know if we can afford to wait any longer.

Ray: I feel like we could handle it.

Gros: We have to do it soon. Our numbers have dramatically increased. Our strength is sufficient enough for us to begin colonizing floor 50. There are those of us who can handle leading the newer members here while the stronger ones live down there. Ranye and Foh are already past level 5 in strength, so they should be able to handle protecting everyone here.

Bell: Yeah, the magic stones down there should be better too. We can start exchanging the stones with each other so everyone can grow.

Asterius: We can also fight that monster rex on the floor behind.

Lyd: True, but Balor might be a bit much for us. You and Bellchi are the only only who could fight it well.

Bell: When it's time for me to get to level 6, I'll just try fighting Udaeus by myself. Fels told me Balor disappearing would raise suspicion or something like that.

Ray: That makes sense. So, are we in agreement?

They all nodded.

Lyd: Alright, then we'll begin to prepare for a trip down there in a few weeks. I'll make a list of who to bring with us.

Gros: Some of us still need to stay here and safe guard the others.

The lizard man nodded.

Lyd: Now, onto the matter of those surface dwellers. I'm sure you're all aware that they're starting to get onto us.

Bell: Yeah, they spotted some of us when we were out hunting.

Ray: That's only natural. It was only going to get harder to hide once there were more of us.

Lyd: All we can do is try to lay low and hope this blows over. Hopefully by then we can start this phase. We've settled everything we needed; you all can go now.

He then left with the other three and Asterius left for the deep floors again. Having nothing better to do, Bell left to train as well.

On the surface...

Ais and Alise had been training again in Twilight Manor. Alise had given the news about her level up to them when she did. They congratulated her and welcomed the girl among the ranks of the first class. During the Denatus, Astraea had managed to convince them to keep her old title, so she is still Scarlet Harnel.

Alise: HAAAH!!!

The two were in a heated spar while Riveria and Finn watched them. The executives were astounded at how quickly they were improving.

Riveria: Their growth is tremendous, it won't be long before Ais reaches level 5 too.

Finn: Let's hope she doesn't go overboard. I can already see her face when she sees her status paper.

They both smiled, imagining the bright face the girl would have once she saw she was level 5.

Riveria: Yeah, me too.

They sat in silence before Finn brought up a thought of his.

Finn: Riveria, what is your opinion on our growth?

She paused for a moment and looked at him before giving her idea.

Riveria: Well, I'd say it's slow. It's been a few years already and we aren't even atA rank in our level 6 stats.

Finn had a grimace as he let that sink in.

Finn: I can't help but feel like I'm slipping somehow. Those legends from the Zeus and Hera Familias have been level 7 for longer than we've been level 6. They could also rise to level 8 at any time.

Riveria: I get what you're saying, but we don't have those kind of luxuries. We have a Familia to run.

Finn: I understand that, but I'm wondering if going at this like Ais and those other younger people is a better idea.

Riveria: It's definitely worked for them. Still, I have to wonder if the risk is worth the reward. It isn't good for us to charge head first into battle just to get stronger. We have other members to lead. We can't put them aside for something selfish like that.

Finn: That is true, but it's also a fact that we have to make an example. How can we expect them to go far in life if we don't push ourselves as well? Of course, I'm not saying we should leave them behind. I just think we could stand to go farther then we are right now. Our Familia and Freya's have been on par since forever.

It was quiet until Finn slammed his hands onto the table.

Finn: Yes, it has to work! We won't get anywhere if we twiddle our thumbs. We at least have to surpass Freya and her Familia.

Riveria: I can't argue with that. Ottarl has been at the edge of level 6 for quite a while. One major level up from either Familia could tip the balance in the city.

Finn: Exactly. I've decided that you, me and Gareth have to work harder than ever. One of us leveling up alongside Ais should be enough to tip the balance into our favor.

They suddenly heard loud footsteps near them.

Gareth: Somebody say my name?

Riveria: We were just discussing some plans for the Familia.

The dwarf looked at Finn who was smirking. He came back from the dining hall with a mug of ale and a sandwich.

Finn: Yes, I've decided I want all three of us to prioritize raising our stats as high as possible. After that, at least one of us needs to level up after Ais.

The dwarf nodded before a grin showed up on his face.

Gareth: Then I'll be taking the lead. My stats are higher than both of yours.

Finn: Maybe for now, but we'll see.

They all had smirks on their faces as their competition was set. The race to reach level 7 first. Back on the field, Ais and Alise were winded as they finished their last fight.

Alise: Yeah, I think that'll... do.

Ais: Hah... thank you again, Alise.

The redhead pouted as she pulled the girl's cheeks.

Alise: Mmm... what did I say to call me? *Pulling her cheeks*

Ais: Big shister Alishe...

She then had a smile on her face as she let go.

Alise: That's more like it!

Riveria, Finn and Gareth came down to them after they saw they finished.

Gareth: Finally done here?

Alise: Yup, thanks again for having me.

Finn: No need for that, we're all friends here.

Riveria: Finn is correct, your Familia has been the older siblings Ais has never had.

Alise: Hehe. It's nice having her as a little sister too.

Finn: So, back to patrol duty?

Alise: Mhm, I get Lion and Ardi with me.

Riveria: You take care of yourself now.

Alise: I will, thanks again!

She bowed before leaving through the gates where the other two were waiting for her.

Alise: Sorry about that, did you wait long?

Ryuu: Not really.

Alise: Phew, well let's get a move on!

They nodded as they started their patrols. Ever since they got rid of Evilus almost a year ago, Orario has reached new levels of peace. However, the Familia of Justice still had their role to play. The average crook was still common on the streets and they helped citizens deal with them among other things. Other pests were still at large such as Rakia, but their last invasion was squashed almost two months ago. Freya had her Familia deal with it before she had her and her executives leave for a trip. Ouranos was hesitant to let them go, but Freya insisted it was important business for her. Eventually he let them go on the condition the Freya had her Familia comply with any request he had. She agreed, and they've been gone ever since.

Back with Alise, the three of them were walking near the guild before the conversations of the adventurers caught their attention.

Adventurer A: Did you hear what happened in the Middle Floors?

Adventurer B: What? That story about talking armed monsters? Come on man, monsters like that don't exist. Some dingus just made that up to scare his friends.

Adventurer A: But more and more people are talking about it. Plus there are those who claim to have seen or survive an attack from them. They even say they can hear them speak and sing somewhere down there.

Adventurer B: Yeah yeah, let's just get moving. We don't even go down there so we don't have any reason to worry. Let people like the Astraea Familia handle that.

Adventurer A: ... I guess you're right.

Alise and the others kept walking and thought about what they said. The rumor had been circling around for a while now. Many blew it off as a joke, but more and more claimed it to be true. Alise thought that her Familia could look into it. On the off chance it was true, they had to find a way to stop them. They arrived back to their home and went inside.

Alise: We're back!

Their Goddess was sitting in the living room with Zeus and Hera. The three turned when they saw the door open and welcomed them.

Astraea: Welcome home, girls.

Ryuu: Is dinner being prepared? I smell something in the kitchen.

Hera: Zald is there preparing the food. You three should clean yourselves then come and eat.

Ardi: Great! I'm ready for food.

She turned to Ryuu and pulled her to their rooms by her arm.

Ardi: Come on, Lion!

Ryuu: S-Slow down!!

Back in the living room, the rest of the girls soon returned home.

Alise: Good, you're all back.

Kaguya: Something on your mind?

Alise: I'll explain when we get to the table. For now, I should be joining Lion and Ardi. My perfect beauty requires much polishing after a long day.

Kaguya: *Internal groaning*

Lyra: Let's just be quick with this. I'm curious about what she has to say.

Kaguya: If this is something ridiculous like that time she tried to make us wear waitress outfits I'm going to make her pay!

The girls washed themselves before Alise went into more specifics about the topic.

Kaguya: Armed and talking monsters? Of course I've heard the rumors, but do you really think there's more to it than that?

Alise: I don't know, that's why I want us to look into it.

Iska: How will that work with only this many of us? Also, is it really worth chasing a small rumor?

Alise: Who can say that this is only a rumor? Word is already going around that adventurers are being attacked by them. I want to make one hundred percent sure that this isn't true. If it is, we can't afford to let this injustice go, so we have to put a stop to whoever's behind this!

Neze: That's great and all, but how would we even do that? You and Lion are the only level 5 adventurers we have. If this is happening in the middle floors then we could have to travel as far as the thirties in the dungeon.

They continued thinking about it to themselves while putting on the rest of their clothes. Astraea eventually walked in on their brainstorming.

Astraea: Girls, dinner is ready! Hm?

They were brought out of their thoughts and turned to their Goddess.

Astraea: Sorry, were you in the middle of something?

Alise: Yeah, but we can continue while we eat.

They went to the dining room and ate dinner while continuing their discussion.

Astraea: What were you all talking about?

Alise: I'm sure you all have heard about these armed monster sightings in the dungeon by now?

Zeus: That's right. I've seen some of the bounties they've had on their board. Quite the hefty amount of valis for individual monsters.

Hera: As ridiculous as their existence sounds, I don't doubt it, at least, not entirely. The lower world has mysteries even we gods aren't aware of, so the possibility of talking monsters isn't impossible.

Astraea: Were you girls going to look into it?

Ardi: The Captain wanted us to try, but it would be hard to do that and keep up our patrols at the same time.

Alfia noticed Alise deep in thought. Over the last several months, the girl matured significantly, much to the pleasure of everyone she knew. She still had that childish side that everyone loved and hated, but that faded away bit by bit ever since what happened in the Middle Floors. The silver haired woman was curious about what the redhead had planned.

Alfia: Do you girls have a plan?

Alise: It's in the works, but we're too shorthanded right now. It's hard enough to do our patrols and now we have to split up to deal with this dungeon problem.

Hera turned to her child and Alfia met her eyes.

Hera: Couldn't you and Zald lend them some help?

The redhead was quick to interject.

Alise: You don't need to do that for us!

The Goddess turned to her child who thought about it to herself.

Alfia: Hm... fine, Zald and I can handle looking after the city. You girls can investigate in the dungeon.

She gave a look to Alise.

Alfia: You already said you were shorthanded, correct? Zald and I can handle any threat to the city ourselves.

Zald: Worse comes to worst, we can ask Loki for assistance.

Alfia: Not that it would come to that. You girls are the for of justice this city relies on. If there is a problem in the dungeon, they'll eventually turn to you for help. Therefore, it's on you to find a solution to this before it gets out of hand.

After a small pep talk, Alise turned to the man who nodded at her. Alise bowed to her in gratitude.

Alise: I understand and we appreciate the help. Now then, how should we approach this?

Lyra: Might as well go down like usual and hope we run into them. Not much else we can do until we have some better leads.

Ardi: Looks like we have everything set. Maybe we can run into something that'll help me get to level 5 down there!

Ryuu: Is it safe to assume we'll be going down every day?

Alise: Yup, we'll be doing dives to the Middle Floors everyday starting tomorrow!

Girls: YES, CAPTAIN!!!

Hours later in the Dungeon...

Bell went with some Xenos to collect more materials by request of Fels. He said that he had a request to make from Hephaestus and her smiths, so he made a guild request for her products. The Goddess accepted the request on the terms that the Guild provide her Familia the materials. Right now, Bell and the others were on Floor 33 after climbing down several floors for most of the day. The supporters finished collected the monster drops and they were ready to head back.

Bell: (I hope this is enough.)

They returned to their village on Floor 27 where they were welcomed by the sounds of battle cries and metal crashing against metal.

Bell: What's happening?!

They dropped their bags and ran inside to see a random group of adventurers fighting the Xenos in the village. Bell eventually found Ray who was flying over to meet them.

Bell: Ray, what's going on?!

Ray: An unlucky accident. A party of adventurers found our village after following some of us back. It was the newer members they followed. They didn't realize it and they eventually stumbled here and yelled something about hitting it big.

She didn't get to continue as Bell knocked away an arrow about to hit her.

Bell: Should we talk about this later?

The siren nodded and they rushed in to join in the fight. The adventurers were strong, but also vastly outnumbered.

Adventurer A: I think we're in over our heads here!!

Adventurer B: There are too many!!

They tried to fend off a group of goblins and war shadows before a larger group of kobolds quickly surrounded and overwhelmed them. The leader eventually came and was about to kill some of them before Bell stepped in.

Clang*

Adventurer C: What?!

He looked and saw a smaller adventurer dressed in black and wearing a black mask on blocking his sword.

Adventurer C: Who the hell are you?! Whatever, if you're trying to get in our way then it's your loss!!!

He went for another swing, but Bell easily dodged it and knocked the sword out of his hand.

Adventurer C: Damn you... YOU LITTLE SHIT!!! *Throwing a punch*

He went to try and punch Bell this time, but it too was blocked and he recieved a blow to the face that knocked him into a wall and unconscious. His party turned to him in fear as they saw their leader get defeated.

Adventurer A: How?! He was level 3!!

They turned to Bell who walked to them menacingly. He held up his hand to them as it was engulfed in fire.

Bell: Get out.

Not bothering to think twice, they grabbed their leader and ran out of the village. The boy saw them leave and he lowered his hand.

Bell: *Sigh* This isn't gonna be good.

He walked over to Lyd who was taking accounts of the damage.

Bell: Lyd!

Lyd: Bellchi, they're gone?

Bell: They just left. Now what do we do? They know about this village and about you guys.

Lyd: We'll just have to relocate to our village on floor 37. Thankfully no one was hurt so we can go after a little rest.

Gros: I say we should've just killed them all and be down with it. They only saw us as profit anyway so it would be justified.

Lyd: To who exactly? They won't care about details as long as it's a monster that attacked them.

The gargoyle grumbled over the fact that adventurers would once again get away with doing them wrong.

Ranye: Alright Gros, let's all just get moving. They already know about this place so we'll only be putting ourselves in greater danger by staying.

Gros: You're right.

Lyd: Good. Everyone gather your things!! We're moving down to Floor 37!!

They sounded off and prepared to move. Bell took a few minutes to ask around if any needed help. He used most of the potions had on him to heal the ones who were injured, but nothing too concerning happened. Eventually, they all grabbed what they needed and got into their groups to begin marching. In another place...

Dix: Is everything prepared? We won't get another chance like this so I'm not accepting any screwups.

Ikelos Grunt A: Yes, everyone is in position on floor 35 and is ready to engage them on your signal.

A smirk grew on the man's face.

Dix: Good, time for some payback. And what of those projects the others are doing?

Ikelos Grunt A: You mean with the experiments they're doing on those kidnapped orphans?

Dix: Kidnapped orphans?

The grunt looked at him like he said something strange.

Ikelos Grunt A: What?

Dix: Come now, you can't kidnap orphans they weren't wanted in the first place.

Ikelos Grunt A: ...In any case, Lord Thanatos is pleased with the progress being made. He hopes to mass produce more creatures withing a few years.

Dix: Should be interesting. Well, it's time for us to be off. Inform the others outside!

The Grunt nodded and ran out as ordered.

Dix: (I'll be sure to pay you back for what you did you brat!)Back with Bell, they've made their groups and prepared to go down. To stay out of sight better, they decided to split themselves in groups of two. First would be Lyd, Gros and Ray along with Asterius and about half of the Xenos. Bell is with Ranye, Foh, Alulu and Helga with the other half. Since Bell and Asterius are the strongest of their group, they thought it best to split them among to two groups. Lyd and his group went down first and Bell's followed them around an hour behind them. They carried more oculus stones to give updates on their progress as they descended.

About three days later, Bell got an update from Ray. She told him they safely arrived to the safe zone and were prepare a new village while they caught up. Bell and his group had been slowed down by several surprise attacks, but it wasn't something he couldn't handle. With no casualties, they continued traveling floor 35 and aimed to move past floor 36 quickly. That would not come to pass as they were caught off guard by several spells crashing near them.

Explosion*

Ranye: Everyone!! On your guard!!!

They prepared to defend themselves when several adventurers came out from other corridors and surrounded them. They then heard footsteps and saw a man with goggles walk towards them.

Dix: So, we meet again talking monsters. Sorry, but my men and I won't be taking prisoners this time.

He twirled a red tipped spear around before charging at them.

Clang*

Dix: What?!

He was surprised to see the fomoire he saw before. He remembered how weak it was the last time, but now they were almost even in strength.

Dix: Grr... Kill them!!!

And so, the battle began between adventurers and Xenos. Lyd tried to balance each group's strength ahead of time. So while there still some weaker members, many stronger ones were also there to help. This time, however, they had no number advantage as Dix had brought just as many with him making this near a 40 on 40 fight.

Bell: Foh!!

The fomoire just grunted in response. Bell was around them long enough to understand some of the noises they make. In this case, this was to say that he had it handled. This was the time for the beast to show how much stronger he is now.

Bell: Take care of yourself!!

Foh looked back and nodded before turning his attention back to Dix. Bell would run back and forth doing his best to support everyone to ensure none of them died before they got to the safe zone.

Bell: HAA!!!

He shot a wave of fire at another group of adventurers which allowed the Xenos fighting them to regroup. The fight raged on for almost ten minutes before Bell saw how quickly they were pushing them back. Now it was the Xenos which were on the offensive.

Dix: Damn it!! How is this happening?!

The man was baffled at how much stronger the monsters were. He greatly underestimated them and now his men were being overwhelmed and cut down by the monsters. Over half their members were out of the fight while the Xenos had yet to suffer a single casualty. The fighting would soon be put on hold when newcomers joined in: a prum, an elf and a human girl.

Finn: What's going on?!

Flashback...

Going back three days, Ais was with Riveria in the library. She was holding her latest update showing many C rank stats with a single A rank in her Magic.

Ais: Riveria, I want to go to the dungeon and try to level up.

The girl was used to this with Riveria. Everytime she tried the elf would tell her no and wait for an expedition. However, she was surprised by Riveria's response this time.

Riveria: Hmm, very well. We will leave with Finn tomorrow morning.

Ais had her mouth wide open as she just stared at her. Riveria on the other hand was doing her best not to laugh at the girl's expression

Ais: R-Really? We can go?

Riveria: Yes, Finn, Gareth and I are planning to go for our level 7 soon. Finn was actually planning to go and try to solo Udaes for a level up. Since that's the case, I could probably find some place for you to level up down there.

The little girl had a bright smile on her face as she jumped to hug the elf.

Ais: Thank you, Riveria!!!

Riveria: Now now, don't yell in the library. *Stroking her hair* Go and get your gear ready. You need a proper rest tonight because we'll leave first thing tomorrow.

Ais: *Nodding* Okay!

She was about to run out but stopped at the door.

Ais: Wait, what about Gareth?

Riveria just held a hand to her mouth as she spoke.

Riveria: The early bird gets the worm. I'm sure he'll get over it.

Ais just tilted her head before shrugging that off and ran to her room. She checked to make sure her sword and armor were ready. After eating dinner, she got a full sleep before waking up early the next day. Once morning came, Ais quickly dressed herself and went down to eat breakfast. There she saw Finn and Riveria eating.

Ais: Riveria!

Riveria: Perfect timing. Come and eat then we'll leave.

She turned to Finn.

Riveria: You at least told Gareth we were leaving, right?

Finn: Don't worry about that, I've got it covered. We just have to wait for Raul now. I asked him to be our supporter and he agreed. When Gareth woke up...

Gareth: Where the hell did those two go?

Just then Loki came into the office.

Loki: Yo, have you seen Finn or Riveria?

The dwarf shook his head. Loki walked around before finding something on Finn's desk.

Loki: Did they leave a note?

Gareth: Lemme take a look. It just says "Hey Gareth" and it's a picture of a butt.

Loki proceeded to drop to the ground laughing as the dwarf scratched his head wondering what prank was being played. Back outside, the four were at the entrance of the dungeon and ready to go down.

AN: The three are wearing their danmemo 3rd anniversary outfits.

Finn: Shall we get going?

Ais: Come on! Come on!

The girl was pulling on Riveria's arm to start moving.

Riveria: *Giggle* I'd say she's ready.

The prum nodded and they began their trip down. Nothing of importance happened for the first few days, but come the third, they heard something peculiar.

Riveria: You hear that, Finn?

Finn: Yeah, sounds like people are fighting and it doesn't sound good.

Raul: They might need help! Your orders captain?

Finn: It isn't out of our way, so we'll go quickly and see what's going on.

The four of them ran to where the noise was coming from and saw what could only be described as a nightmare. They saw many adventurers dead and the rest barely clinging to life as a horde of over 40 monsters was attacking them. Even stranger was the massive variety of them. Some of them weren't even supposed to be found this low. Finn quickly stepped in to stop the bloodshed.

End of Flashback...

As soon as he spoke, the Xenos and what remained of the Ikelos Familia stopped and turned to see Braver with other from his Familia looking at them.

Dix: Braver.

Finn looked and saw the Ikelos captain locked in combat with a fomoire.

Finn: Hazer? What's the Ikelos Familia doing here?

Dix: Well, as you can see we're being killed by this group of irregular monsters.

Finn: This is quite the unexpected meeting. Hermes is going to be delighted once you all are finally brought to him. We'll finally be able to get more insight on these crimes you're supposedly innocent of.

Dix grimaced as his situation only got worse. He backed off and regrouped with what remained of his forces. While this all happened, the small blonde looked at the monsters with a gaze of pure hatred. She still remembers how she lost her friend to them. Unknown to her, she unconsciously released some wind which began to take a black color.

Riveria: What of the monsters?

Finn: Eliminate them. There's no reason to let irregulars walk around.

He grabbed his spear and went to charge before being blocked by a familiar sight.

Finn: Wha- you?

Bell: Sorry about this. Don't take it personally.

He delivered a kick which caught the prum off guard.

Finn: (He's faster than before! A level up perhaps?)

The prum was on guard, but quickly felt his thumb throb. Bell was too preoccupied to notice Dix smiling menacingly as he held two fingers up.

Dix: I'm not getting caught that easily. Lose thyself in an unending illusion Phobetor Daedalus!

Bell: (Oh no!!)

Fels had modified Bell cloak to be simliar to his in that it protect the wearer and others from curses. However, Bell was in the back of the group and Dix was on the other side. Even with his speed, he wasn't fast enough to shield everyone and a small portion of the Xenos quickly went berserk.

Dix: Hmph. You guys have fun with that.

They retreated while Bell had to find a way to dispel the curse and stop the Loki Familia from killing any of them.

Bell: Ranye, I'll stall the adventurers. You and the others have to try and stop Foh and the others from hurting each other.

She nodded and Bell ran back to stop Finn and Ais from hurting his friends.

Clang*

Finn: What are you doing? If these irregulars get lose more people will be in danger!

Bell: ...

Finn: Is this an order from your god?

Bell: No, I'm doing this on my own.

He once more knocked Finn away before having to stop Ais from cutting down a harpy. When her sword was blocked, she stared at him in anger.

Ais: What are you doing?!

Bell: I can't let you hurt them!

Ais: Why not?! They're just monsters! They do nothing but hurt people and take things away from them! I lost my friend to them and I won't lose anything else!! Tempest

She used her magic to amp the fight up further. Bell was now stuck with fending off both her and Finn while the others were trying to help the ones who got cursed. Things went from bad to worse once they heard Riveria begin to start chanting. Bell was familiar with her magic power and wasn't in the mood to get hit by one of her spells. Thankfully, some of the flying monsters they had tried attacking her to disrupt her chant, but it was useless as she was able to concurrent chant. The elf dodged their attacks and continued chanting until she felt a pain in her side. She tried to keep her magic under control while continuing to dodge her attackers. She then saw for a brief moment the masked man raised a hand to fire a spell at her before returning his attention to Finn and Ais. Riveria knew she probably wouldn't be able to cast like this. Even Raul was having trouble supporting her.

Clang*

Finn: Why are you fighting this hard for a bunch of monsters? What do you hope to gain?

Bell: (Remember, Fels said to answer vaguely if anyone asked.) Yes!

Finn's face had a looked on confusions he continued attacking. As strong as he was now, fighting these two and protecting his friends at the same time was quite the arduous task. It was made even worse when he had to find openings to disrupt Riveria. The fighting had gone on for nearly 15 minutes before he heard Ranye talk to him through the oculus.

Ranye: Bell, the curse finally wore off! The others are back to normal! We'll make our escape now and you can catch up! Stay safe!

The boy smiled under his mask as their efforts were paying off. He heard the others retreating and now had to find a way to escape himself.

Bell: HAA!!

He once more knocked Finn away and fired another fire spell at him. He made this one big enough to create a giant cloud of dust in the room. He was about to leave before he was surprised by a kick to the face by Ais.

Bell: Gah!!

The damage proved too much and a part of his mask broke off revealing a red eye and a small patch of white hair. They stopped fighting immediately and were staring wide eyed at each other. Bell was nervous that his cover might be blown while Ais was in shock at seeing remnants of the friend she thought to be dead.

Ais: B-Bell?

The boy was sweating profusely as his mind went into overdrive.

Bell: (Oh no! What would Grandpa do in this situation?)

He thought before the idea came to his mind.

Bell: (I didn't think I'd have to use this technique here.)

He tended his body before revealing his secret move.

Bell: What's that? *Pointing behind her*

The girl turned for a moment, but that was all Bell needed to run away at full speed. Once Ais turned back, the boy was gone and Finn blew the dust away as Riveria and Raul went to them.

Raul: Are you guys ok?

Finn: Yeah, and you?

Riveria: Fine, just got hit a few times by him. Apart from the harpies and sirens along with that masked man, I couldn't really find an opening to continue chanting safely.

Raul: I'm sorry, I wasn't strong enough to support you.

Finn: Don't feel to bad about it, those irregular monster looked to be between levels 2 and 4. You'd have some trouble with that many of them.

Riveria: Should we chase them?

Finn: No. We shall proceed with our plan. Once we return up, we'll inform the guild. I guess those rumors about those monsters were true after all.

They were about to move on before they saw Ais staring off at the corridor they were before.

Riveria: Ais?

The girl turned to her and the elf was shocked to see tears in her eyes.

Ais: I... I think I saw Bell...

Riveria's eyes widened when she said that.

Riveria: Stop being ridiculous. That boy isn't here anymore.

Ais: But I saw him! I broke the person's mask and saw a red eye and white hair! Bell is the only one I know like that!

Finn: Ais, just let it go. Seeing those monsters just made you hallucinate.

The girl puffed her cheeks before going on ahead.

Riveria: Finn...

Finn: Yeah, my thumb is still throbbing.

Riveria: Do you think-

Finn: On the surface, it doesn't add up. His fighting style isn't the same and neither is his magic. Plus the person is allied with Ouranos while Bell had never met him. Normally that would be enough to disprove it, but my thumb is never wrong.

They continued to think about it among themselves before Raul interrupted them.

Raul: Maybe we should save this for another time? Ais is getting pretty far away.

They lifted their heads to see Ais getting further and further away. The two mentally agreed to continue their talk once they returned to the surface. Now all that was left was to finish what they came for. With Dix and his crew...

They all quickly found a place to rest and recover after their last fight. Dix was furious that those monsters got away again.

Dix: Those bastards won't escape a second time...

After some time, they got back up and prepared to move before they heard loud footsteps behind them. They got louder until they turned around to find a giant black minotaur.

Asterius: UUOOOOOOOHH!!

Dix: DAAMN YOU-

Splatter*

What remained of them was nothing but mangled corpses. Asterius continued climbing before running into Ranye and Foh along with the rest if their group. They said they would explain once they arrived at the new village. The bull didn't get a chance to ask where Bell was before he landed next to them.

Bell: Made it!

Ranye: Are they following you?

Bell: No, but my cover might be blown.

He pointed to his mask with bow had a piece of it chipped off showing his eye and some of his hair.

Bell: Anyway, I want to see the new village.

Not wanting to waste time, they continued down to Floor 37. They ran into Lyd and the others. He was shocked to see them all slightly beat up.

Ray: Healing items, quickly!!

Lyd: Bellchi, what happened to you guys?!

Bell: We sort of ran into a lot of problems on our was down. Luckily we made it through without any one getting hurt bad.

Lyd: *Sigh* That's a relief. Good thing for you guys because we've almost finished preparing our new home. We had to make it bigger to fit everyone but it looks pretty much like our old home.

Bell: You're right!

Lyd: The set up was more or less the same. We even had this one put far enough away from the Floor boss so other adventurers won't find this place easily. Now, make yourself comfortable.

The relocation was a success and they now had a new place to call home. Back with Ais, she was able to find a suitable enough challenge to level up. Using her wind, she fought and killed horde after horde of Spartoi they ran until before reaching the spot where Udaes was. Loki and Riveria were both proud to see her finally reach first class. However, they were surprised when she asked to wait.

Loki: But you're finally able to become a First Class. Isn't this what you wanted?

Ais: I asked Big Sis Alise and the others and she said that Miss Lion had waited on her level up. She waited to raise her abilities more until they were near A rank and just needed the feat to be able to level up.

Riveria: So you want to train more and raise your stats as well?

The girl nodded.

Riveria: If that's your choice then I'll support it. Though, I'm surprised you're willing to be patient about this. What happened to the little girl who wanted to grow as quickly as possible?

Ais: Mmm...

She puffed her cheeks at the elf who tried her best not to laugh at her daughter's sudden use of her head. With Finn, Loki was jumping for joy while Gareth was yelling at him.

Gareth: That was playing dirty and you know it!!

Finn: Oh come on, at least now you'll have dibs on it next. Or will you let Riveria slip past you next?

Gareth: Ha! You wish.

There was a moment of silence before he gave his fist to Finn.

Gareth: Here's to being number one in the city.

The prum happily gave his fist.

Finn: Not only me, but our Familia as a whole.

Bump*

After a long and hard battle, Finn had succeeded in slaying Udaes by himself. When he came back several days later and asked Loki for an update, she was surprised to see Finn was able to level up. Many of his stats were already B and A rank, so he was better off than Ais. He took his level up and became the third level 7 in the city after Alfia and Zald.

Gareth: Just mark my words, I'll pay you back for that some day. *Grinning*

Finn: Haha! We'll see. *Thumb throbbing*

In Telskyura...

Tiona: Hey sis, let's go to Orario!

Tione: Ballin'.

Back in Orario, the guild and the city was in a frenzy when they heard Braver rose to level 7. Loki was wondering how she'd react once the next Denatus came around in a month or so. With the Xenos, Finn went to the guild and confirmed the rumor at the same time he reported his level up. The city was in shock to know such creatures existed, but Finn declared the Loki Familia would do their best to protect the city. When Alise and the others heard about it, they agreed to help wherever they could. Upon hearing of his level up, Zeus and Hera asked their children about their thoughts on it.

Zeus: What say you two? You think it's time to consider working to level 9?

Hera: If you wish then say so and we'll do our best to support you.

Alfia: Maybe not yet.

Zald: Why?

Alfia: Let Loki and Finn enjoye themselves. If we just suddenly rise to level 9 then it would spoil their mood. Their Familia is the ones to succeed ours so they deserve to have a proper celebration for their hard work.

Zeus: Well, that's nice of you.

Alfia: Besides, I'm sure I'll enjoy the looks on their faces when we shoot past them again. *Smirking*

Zeus: Nevermind...

Timeskip One monthMore time passed and Bell was enjoying his time in the deeper levels. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but Asterius had constantly been in a brighter mood ever since everyone moved to Floor 37. Not that it mattered to Bell because he enjoyed training with the minotaur. Their fights together almost always left them in a state that forced some to go with them and drag their bodies back. Now that they were in the deep floors, the two clashed more often than ever. The record was 3 wins, 3 losses and 126 draws each. It got to the point that they were caught and Bell had to act like he was forcing Asterius back and then looking for a chance to escape. The adventurers who found them luckily didn't ask when they saw that irregular minotaur, but now he was on the guild board with a bounty on his head. Fels warned the two to be careful from now on as the Loki Familia will likely be onto them. Asterius could fight evenly with any of the executives, but against multiple Firts Classes would be trouble. Right now, the two were heading off the have another match at a clearing they found on Floor 36. They just had to make sure no one would run into them while they fought.

Back on the surface, a few days ago...

Finn: We're fully prepared to go and hunt those monsters! This is the deep floors, so don't let your guard down for any reason!

Tensions rose in the city once news of the black minotaur rose. They estimated it to be around high level 6 or even level 7 in strength. The people wanted something to be done about it, so Finn brought several adventurers with him to try and hunt it down. Himself, Riveria, Gareth, Ais who finally rose to level 5, Raul, Alise, Ryuu, and Ardi who also reached level 5. They would explore the deep floors and find any traces of the irregular. Once they did, they would work together to eliminate it.

Several days passed until they reach Floor 36 where they heard loud rumbling and metal clashing. Back in the present, they rush to where the noise was coming from and were surprised to see the familiar masked man from before fighting with it.

Back with Bell, the two were locked in their combat. Bell had gotten his masked repaired by Fels and Asterius had gotten a magic axe from him. He was eager to test it out and also wanted to fight with Bell again. Today could be the day they would break their long streak of ties. That would not be the case as Finn threw one of his spears and the two jumped apart before turning to see the entire force of them there watching them.

Gareth: Caught a lucky break. Maybe I'll get my level 7 from that one?

Finn: Do what you want, just make sure that one doesn't get away!

Asterius: UUUOOOOOOHH!!!

Punch*

The bull proceeded to punch Bell and knock him into a wall as the two recalled a lecture Fels gave them.

Flashback...

Fels: You two can't keep doing this. You put our operation at even greater risk if you get caught again.

The bull said nothing as the specter sighed.

Fels: Is there really no way to stop you two from fighting?

Asterius: No...

Fels: Well we can't afford to have Bell lose his reputation because of this. Hmm... then I propose an idea.

Bell: What?

Fels: You two will have to put on a show.

The two tilted their head forcing the mage to continue.

Fels: I mean that you'll have to put on an act. Asterius, you have to make it look like you're out to kill Bell, which is a simple task I'm sure.

The bull huffed in agreement.

Fels: And you *points to Bell* you need to make it look like you're out to hunt and kill Asterius. *Turns back to Asterius* Keeping that in mind, it is in your best interest to find an opening to escape. It's the only way we can keep this operation going while keeping everyone in the dark. Do you two have that?

Bell: Yes!

Asterius: Whatever...

End of Flashback...

Bell pulled himself put and turned to the others.

Bell: Be careful, he's stronger than you think!!

The bull went to charge at Ais who was ready to fight, but was blocked by Bell. Ais stared at the man in confusion since he was defending other monsters the last time they met. She also wanted to find a way to ask about her dead friend. Finn took charge and organized everyone to attack the minotaur.

Finn: Gareth, pincer now!!

Gareth: On it!!

The dwarf raised his axe to strike at it while Finn ran around to the other side. They were surprised to find that it was able to fend them off. Alise and her Familia went to try and were easily knocked away by its sheer power. Ryuu even tried casting magic, but her spell hardly did anything.

Ryuu: This thing is too strong.

Alise: Safe to say it really might be level 7.

Bell once more went to attack while Asterius used his arms to block again. He gave the minotaur a look to which Asterius nodded before throwing him away. He grabbed the magic axe on his back and began charging it.

Raul: That's a magic weapon!

Finn: Riveria!

The elf quickly went to chant her defensive.

Riveria: Via Shilheim!!

A gold barrier was put up surrounding the group while at the same time, Asterius brought his axe down and a giant orb of lightning shot from in and made it's way towards them.

Riveria: Ngh!

Cracks began to form on her shield as she struggled to hold it.

Ais: Riveria!!

Riveria: It's no good! It won't hold!!

They braced for impact before hearing a strange noise.

Ding* *Ding* *Ding*

They turned and saw the masked man glowing white while the sounds of Bells emanating from him grew louder.

Bell: Everyone get close to me, now!!!

Following his order, they grouped up and Bell crossed his arms which crackled with electricity before he spread them out. The moment he did, a dome of lightning and fire surrounded them and shielded them once Riveria's barrier fell. Using it for the first time, Bell and Asterius were shocked by the magic axe's power. The orb exploded and knocked everyone away and onto the ground. Seeing this, Asterius quickly retreated away while the rest of them recovered.

Finn: Is everyone okay?

Gareth: I'll live. How about you?

Crack*

He turned to the masked man along with everyone else when they heard the noise. Crack moved along his mask before it broke apart while he was getting up, revealing a face belonging to someone they thought was dead for nearly a year.

Bell was holding his face while reeling from the shock.

Bell: Oww...

He turned to them and wondered why they had looks of shock on their faces. It all added up once he felt his face and noticed his mask was no longer there.

Bell: (My mask!!)

Ryuu: This can't be...

Finn: Is this real?

Ais' mind was in turmoil. The last month she tried to convince everyone he was alive, but was met with a bunch of sad hugs as they thought she had bad memories resurface when she saw all of those monsters and dead adventurers. Now they saw that she was right and Bell was alive. She quickly broke free from her stupor and rushed to hug the boy.

Ais: BEEELL!!!

Thud*

Bell: Ah!!

She cried into his neck and clung to him making sure he wouldn't leave her again.

Ais: You're alive, right? *hic* This isn't a dream?!

They boy knew there was no way out of this one so he came clean.

Bell: *Smiling* Yeah, it's me.

She saw the smile she thought she'd never see again and cried into his chest once more while the rest of them asked the boy what was going on.

Finn: Wait, are you telling me you were alive this whole time?

Bell: Um... yeah...

Alise: Why didn't you come back to us?! Do you know how hurt everyone was when we heard you died?!

She along with her friends teared up remembering what happened.

Alise: Do you know how much it hurt knowing I killed you!

Bell: B-But you didn't-

Alise: YES I DID!!! I asked you for help! I was the reason you had to fight that monster with us! I was the reason you were gone for this long!

Bell: Please calm down! I wanted to come back up when I woke up, really! I just couldn't!

Ardi: Why?!

Bell: Um...

Gareth: Look boy, I can promise whatever comes out of your mouth won't leave this circle unless you want it to.

The boy hesitated, but agreed.

Bell: It was Lord Ouranos.

This shocked everyone and even got Ais to get off him and allow the boy to sit up.

Finn: THE Lord Ouranos?!

Bell: Yup. He said he needed my help with something so I've been working with him for the last year now.

Riveria: Does that have to do with those monsters?

Bell felt his stomach twist, but he had to continue with the charade if he wanted the others to have a chance.

Bell: Y-Yeah, I've been watching them for a while. He said to keep watch and make sure nothing happened to them. They were somehow connected to that minotaur, so he asked me to follow them until we ran into each other.

Finn: And the Ikelos Familia?

Bell: They planned to hurt them. If they were gone, there would be almost no way to find the irregular. Sorry I had to fight you like that.

Finn: No, we should apologize for getting in the way.

Bell: Well, I've run into it several times, but I haven't been able to beat it. It either runs away, or I have to find a way to escape. This game was going on for nearly a month now and I haven't made any progress.

Ais: We could help.

Bell: NO!!

They were caught by surprise by his outburst. Bell caught himself and quickly apologized.

Bell: Sorry, it's just... I want to be the one to beat that minotaur.

Gareth: Heh. Your after a big fish there. The guild says it's nearly level 7.

Bell: Well I am almost level 6.

Everyone: HUH?!

Finn: H-How old are you again?

Bell: I turn 9 in a few days, why?

Finn held his head in his hand as he processes how this boy who wasn't even 10 was about to reach him in level.

Riveria: We should probably head back up now. I'm sure your Familia will be shocked to hear the news.

Bell: I have a lot of people I need to say sorry to.

Finn: Then let's not delay any longer!

They made their way back up, but not before staying in Rivira to rest. After that, it was a complete trip back to the surface.

Finn: Finally back. *Turns to Bell* We can handle this, you go and greet them.

The boy nervously nodded before looking to Alise and the others. They gave him warm smiles and agreed to support him. Ais was tugging on Riveria's robe and gave her a look wanting to go with them.

Riveria: Go ahead.

She gave her a smile which Ais returned before running after them. Upon arriving, Bell had butterflies in his stomach when he was about to open the doors inside.

Alise: Don't worry, we're here for you.

She comforted him and they all let themselves in.

Alise: We're back!!!

Everyone saw them and welcomed them.

Astraea: Ah, good to see you-

They all froze when they saw the slightly taller white haired boy with them. None were more shocked that Zeus, Hera, Zald and Alfia. The little boy they thought was dead was now standing with them. They would have stared at him all day if he didn't call out to them.

Bell: Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle, Mom... I'm home!

That was all the silver haired woman needed before she tearfully embraced the boy before the rest of them joined in.

Alfia: Bell... Bell...

Zald: Bell...

Zeus: My boy...

Hera: You're alive!! My grandson is alive!!

As fun as it was to be with the Xenos for nearly a year, Bell was glad to be home at long last.

AN: Yeah, I'm really sorry about how long this took. Even with school, I was hoping for this to come out some time in February, but life disagreed. Well, now Bell is back with his family and he got out of that tight squeeze successfully. The next chapter of Bell's life will start.

Thanks for reading this and Ihope you enjoyed. I apologize again for the delay. I'll see you all in the next one.
