Catullus 2 has inspired centuries of commentary, being ambiguous enough to create massive possibility. I chose to focus on my favorite interpretation, that being the sparrow (Crookshanks) as a symbol of respite. This is the story of Hermione Granger, Severus Snape, and Crookshanks. Note that not having read Catullus has no bearing on understanding this story.
