It was another day in Griffin Rock, and an elderly man was clipping his bush in the shape of an elephant when he was startled when a giant lawnmower came and smashed through his elephant-shaped shrub.

He was about to step forward when the Chase zoomed past him, explaining, "You will be compensated for any damage, citizen."

The lawnmower crashed through a brick wall and continued down the street as Chase continued to chase it as Chief Burns spoke through the comlinks, "Attention Rescue Team, robo landscaper out of control!"

The robo landscaper then lifted its shreds up and started to take out the street lights, and Chase swerved out of the way of the street lights crashing down.

"Could use a hand here," Chief Burns asked, making tight turns and chasing after the robo landscaper.

In the intercom tower, Chief Burns asked through the monitor, "Where are you at Burns Family?"

Cody was seated in the chair in front of the controls, and the little girl stood beside him, watching the rescue mission unfold.

But she looked completely different from when Cody and the Rescue Bots met her.

Her long hair was washed and evenly brushed out, although it was still wild and was down to her hips.

Instead of wearing her old clothes, she wore a long-sleeved light blue shirt with dark blue jeans and barefoot.

But she still wore her earrings and was squinting slightly to look at the monitor.

"Uh, might be a while, Dad," Cody responded.

In the garage, Graham and Kade were climbing into their Rescue Bots, but Graham was hesitant to climb in while Kade was halfway in.

"It's just too bizarre," Graham explained as Kade glanced over at him. "They're alive, but we're supposed to ride inside them?"

"Don't be a wimp, Graham," Kade snarked. "They're just vehicles."

"Hey," Heatwave snapped back. "I can hear you, you know."

After they climbed into their vehicles, Heatwave and Boulder drove off, all except Blades, whom Dani was struggling to lift off the platform.

"Hurry up, Blades!" Dani barked. "We have to go!"

So Blades lifted off the platform and followed Heatwave and Boulder to the rescue mission.

Meanwhile, the robo landscaper knocked off another street lamp and turned into an alley while Chase was following from behind.

But after Chase followed the robo landscaper, he slowed down after realizing that it had disappeared.

"No sign of the suspect," Chase informed. "What now, sir?"

The sudden noise of the robo landscaper perked their attention, and they glanced behind them, seeing the robo landscaper heading towards them at full speed!

And as the robo landscaper headed towards them at full speed, Chase advised Chief Burns, "I advise you to hold on, sir."

Then, Chase revered and headed towards the robo landscaper as Chief Burns held on, but before the robo landscaper could hit Chase, Chase transformed and jumped over the robo landscaper, landing on his feet behind it.

The robo landscaper stopped after Chase avoided its attack and went backward to attack Chase.

Chase jumped behind it and grabbed its shredders as Chase said, straining against its strength, "You have the right to remain silent! Anything you say can be used against you!"

Then he tossed the robo landscaper into the trash bin as it was destroyed from impact, and Chase finished, "And you will not be compensated for damages!"

After the robo landscaper was destroyed in the trash bin, Blades, Boulder, and Heatwave arrived as Dani looked over the ledge of the building.

Dani sighed and asked, while slumped against the ledge, "We missed it, didn't we?"

Chase transformed, and Chief Burns stepped out, asking his family, "What kept you all?"

"Our rides wouldn't let us drive," Kade snapped. "They're slowing us down."

After Kade snapped, Heatwave transformed and stood up to his height, asking Kade, who was slightly squashed against his windshield, "Fast enough for ya?"

"Let me out!" Kade shouted as he banged against the windshield. "Oh, I'm gonna hurl."

Heatwave only glanced down at Kade briefly before looking at Chief Burns as he crossed his arms over his chest with a slight glare.

Kade banged against the windshield again as Heatwave transformed, kicking Kade out from inside along with his helmet.

Kade stood up to his feet with his helmet adjusted messily on his head, hissing, "Never again."

Noticing his helmet was on awkwardly, Kade reached up and repositioned his helmet, only to be in the wrong position again.

"Look," Chief Burns assured. "I know we are adjusting to being a team, learning about each other, but it'll go smoother if we work together."

"I signed up to rescue people," Kade snapped. "Not make nice with machines."

And with that, Kade stormed off without getting into Heatwave as Cody and the girl watched from the intercom tower.

The screen then switches to an irritated Heatwave as he hissed, "These humans don't realize they are on a team."

"Don't worry, Heatwave," Cody assured as the girl glanced over at Cody. "I'll talk to them."

Some parts of his bangs were in front of Cody's eyes, so he blew them away with a puff of his breath as they moved to the side.

That afternoon, Kade opened a cabinet to take out a bag of popcorn from inside and closed it.

"Hey, Kade!" Kade flinched after hearing Cody's voice and glanced over, seeing Cody leaning against the refrigerator with the girl next to him, "Can I pop that for ya?"

She giggled after watching Kade being startled by Cody's question and started to see how much this is a family.

So Kade handed the popcorn bag to Cody as he pressed a red button on the side while the girl watched curiously.

"You know," Cody began as the popcorn bag automatically popped popcorn. "It's pretty amazing you get to be partners with an alien!"

Cody tossed the freshly popped popcorn bag to Kade as he sarcastically responded, "Oh yeah, amazing, I have to ask my ride to roll down my own window."

Kade walked past the girl and Cody as Cody protested, "But you and Heatwave have tons in common! He-"

"It's not a 'he,' Cody," Kade interrupted as he glanced over his shoulder. "It's a truck."

The girl walked up next to Cody as he sighed, giving an assured tap on his shoulder to keep trying.

While Cody was standing in front of a climbing wall watching Dani climb, the girl watched with curiosity and amazement.

"And back home," Cody continued speaking. "Blades had wheels. He never flew until he got to Earth."

"That's why he's so bad at it," Dani remarked, missing the point.

"Plus," Cody added. "He kind of hates heights."

Dani looked down at Cody and responded as she looked up at the bell she was reaching for, "Blades is my partner. He better learn to love them."

Dani rang the bell after grabbing the small rope, and Cody sighed as the girl gave him another reassuring pat on his shoulder.

Cody is helping Graham fix the control panel for the bunker while Cody is sitting on top of it.

The girl was standing next to it and watching the thing with curiosity, even listening to the conversation.

"Boulder's crazy about Earth," Cody continued. "He wants to soak up everything he can!"

"And I'd love to learn about his planet's technology," Graham nodded, taking the wrench from Cody after he handed it to him.

"See?" Cody grinned. "You're the perfect team! You can teach each other-"

"Cody," Graham interrupted. "Boulder's an alien from a highly advanced society. How am I going to teach him anything?"

Cody slumped after Graham asked, as the girl thought briefly before sighing, seeing that there was no way to convince them.

Meanwhile, the Rescue Bots had their own secret entrance hidden in the bunker and communicated with Optimus Prime.

Heatwave spoke to Optimus Prime about what was happening, feeling like nothing had changed ever since they revealed themselves to the family.

"This isn't working, Optimus," Heatwave groaned. "Our partners don't want to do anything with us."

"Actually," Chase spoke up. "Chief and I get along quite well."

Heatwave growled at Chase after he spoke up and returned to Optimus Prime, asking, "How are we supposed to complete your mission to 'help' humans if they don't let us?"

"I am certain you will find a way, Heatwave," Optimus Prime nodded. "Remember, learning to communicate with humans is also part of your mission."

"My partner communicates loud and clear," Blades remarked. "Especially loud."

"Well," Boulder spoke. "Cody's been trying to help us fit in."

"Then take guidance from Cody," Optimus Prime nodded. "I have found that the young of the species are the most valuable allies."

"'Make friends?'" Heatwave questioned. "With all due respect, Optimus, that's all you have to say?"

"Not entirely," Optimus Prime added. "Rescue Bots, good luck."

After Optimus Prime concluded his sentence, the screen went blank, and Heatwave grumbled as if nothing had happened between his team and Optimus Prime.

Then the door opened, revealing Cody and the girl as they stepped into the secret room.

"Guys?" Cody questioned before looking surprised about the new room. "Whoa! I didn't know that the bunker had a secret room!"

The girl nodded her head in agreement after Cody mentioned, seeing that there was more to the bots than what meets the eyes.

"How did it go, Cody?" Blades asked.

Cody sighed after Blades asked as the girl shrugged her shoulders, unsure of what she could say or do, and said, "New plan. Kade, Dani, and Graham don't know like what I do, right? So, you all just need to bond."

"What does 'bonding' entail?" Heatwave asked, kneeling slightly to Cody's height.

The elevator of the bunker went down, and the siblings stepped out as Kade sarcastically asked, "This is the amazing thing we had to see?"

Then he turned around to Cody and asked, "The bunker? We've been here a thousand times."

"Not in years," Dani added before picking up a stuffed elephant. "Oh, I used to love playing down here."

Then she hugged the stuffed purple elephant and walked over to Kade, asking with a soft chuckle, "Remember when you got lost in the tunnels, Kade?"

Kade frowned as he crossed his arms over his chest as Graham walked over to the pinball machine.

"Wonder if I could beat my old high score," Graham remarked.

While Graham and the two older siblings looked around the bunker, Cody walked over to the back behind the bookcase and whispered, "You're on."

All four Rescue Bots and the girl gathered together in a tight space, talking about who was going first.

The girl waved her hands to get their attention and help them decide who was going first but did not know what to say or how to while Cody watched.

So, they instead pushed Blades into view as the girl poked her head around the corner, looking nervous about what would happen next.

"Hi," Blades nervously greeted as the three older siblings gasped after the bot appeared.

"Don't freak!" Cody spoke as the other three bots appeared as the girl stood next to Cody. "I invited them too. I thought it would be cool if we all hung out together. You know, just the nine of us?"

Kade did not look amused as he was about to exit the bunker when Cody asked, "Come on, Kade! What are you afraid of?"

Kade turned back and gave Cody a cold glare, but he did not leave the bunker and crossed his arms over his chest.

Then Cody looked up at Boulder, who walked over to the pinball machine Graham was playing with before.

"Is this an Earth game?" Boulder asked. "May I try?"

Graham stayed silent before slowly answering, "…Sure."

Boulder waited as Graham walked over to Boulder and pointed at the leaver, "You pull this to start."

Boulder nodded and used his first finger and thumb to grab the leaver… only to accidentally rip it out of the pinball machine.

But Boulder did not notice what had happened and exclaimed, "Fun! Now what?"

Graham facepalmed after Boulder accidentally ripped the leaver out of the pinball game as the girl sighed, hoping that they would try again.

Blades had a handful of notes written in his handwriting while Dani was sitting on something up to his chest, still holding the stuffy in her arms.

Blades looked down at the first card and asked, "Lovely weather today, isn't it?"

"Perfect for flying," Dani remarked, giving Blades some discomfort.

"Or not," Blades sighed before looking at the cards again. "Uh, do you have any hobbies?"

"Flying," Dani answered, giving Blades that same discomfort again.

Heatwave, however… was not doing so well with Kade as Kade was silent the entire time, not even barely talking to him either.

He kept giving Heatwave the cold glare but said nothing during the entire time between the two.

"And I think we're done here," Kade finally spoke, standing up and beginning to leave the bunker with the others.

"That went quite well," Chase remarked as Cody sighed in disappointment.

Once again, one of his plans backfired, and nothing had changed between the siblings.

The girl saw Cody's expression and was about to give him a decent pat when the alarms went off, scaring her, and everyone perked.

The siblings went over to the monitor, and Kade pressed a button, showing Chief Burns, and informed them, "We have a situation at Main and Park. The sewers are overflowing."

"So call a plumber," Dani shrugged.

"With lava," Chief Burns finished.

One of the manhole covers burst out of the ground behind Chief Burns, causing him to turn around and look at the damage again.

Cars swerved to the side and crashed into each other as more damage continued to occur all around him.

"This could get ugly pretty fast," Chief Burns explained. "I need the whole team out here."

The siblings looked surprised at what was happening but instantly ran off to help Chief Burns as the Rescue Bots went to ground level.

Cody slumped slightly after watching everyone disappear as Chief Burns said, "Cody, get on the Command Center Comlink. Your siblings will need some help working with their partners."

Cody nodded his head and ran to the Command Center Comlink as the girl followed behind as Chief Burns said, "For you, you need to stay with Cody, okay? We're still searching for anyone who might be your parents. We can discuss this later after everything dies down."

The girl nodded after Chief Burns informed her and followed Cody as the siblings went to help Chief Burns.

In the streets, lava kept boiling up from manhole covers and other cracks in the ground to reach the surface.

Chase and Chief Burns led the cars through safe pathways after placing warning signs around the lava.

But one driver in one car got impatient and sped past the two, getting her car into the lava and slowly sinking into it as she shrieked.

"Chase, help her!" Chief Burns ordered as Chase nodded.

Chase approached the woman who climbed on top of her car's trunk, stretching out his hand for her to climb onto his palm.

After she climbed into his palm, the car fully sank into the lava as Chase informed, "Next time, citizen, please follow the road's rules. It's not just a good idea. It's the law."

In the sky, Blades hovered over where Chase was, and Dani growled in frustration as she wanted to get high in the sky, but Blades was slightly near the ground.

"Can you be a little-ooww!" Blades winced in pain. "Gentle with that?"

Dani grunted as she struggled with Blades' controls, trying to pull, but Blades had the joystick pointed downward.

"As soon as you learn how to fly!" Dani snapped.

"Dani," Cody spoke, speaking through the microphone. "Be nice! Remember?"

Dani groaned after Cody asked and sweetly asked, "Blades buddy, I know this is hard for you, but you can do it." She then switched back to her original personality, snapping. "So do it already!"

Cody winced as the girl facepalmed, seeing that it did not work well.

Then he turned his attention to Boulder and Graham as Boulder pushed thick concrete slabs to block the lava from spreading.

Boulder transformed and turned to Graham as he looked at the tablet in his hands, checking for the lava flow and the damage.

"Do you think this is enough to hold the lava?" Boulder asked.

"Oh, you're right," Graham fretted. "It must seem like a primitive solution to you."

"Graham," Cody assured as he spoke through the microphone. "Boulder's not dissing you. He's trying to help. But you gotta tell him what you're thinking first."

Then an explosion from a gas station perked Cody's attention, and he glanced over at another screen as lava had surfaced near a gas station.

People screamed and ran for protection as the gas pumps exploded as Heatwave arrived at the scene.

Heatwave transformed and was about to lift his arm up when someone else's water hose sprayed, causing him to turn around and look over at Kade with a different firetruck.

"I got this covered," Kade remarked with a slight snark. "You can move on, 'partner.'"

Heatwave huffed after Kade snarked and drove off after transforming into his vehicle mode.

"Kade!" exclaimed Cody as he sat up slightly from his chair. "You have to work together-!"

"No time for chit-chat, Cody," Kade huffed, flicking the comlink off his jacket's collar and returning to what he was doing.

However, underneath his fire truck, a manhole cover started to heat up before bursting out of the ground, launching Kade's firetruck into the air and knocking Kade forward from the blast.

Kade landed roughly on the front as his firetruck landed a few feet away from him, completely destroyed and burnt.

Kade groaned in pain after the explosion, as he was semi-covered in soot and had scratches on his body.

Cody exclaimed from the comlink that he had flicked off as he was near another lava pool, "Kade! Kade! Are you okay?! Kade!"

Then his comlink was devoured by the lava and melted away as the lava was slowly closing in on Kade.

Slowly, Kade regained a little consciousness from being halfway knocked out and tried to stand up but winced slightly in pain from the bruises on his body as the lava inched closer and closer.

Suddenly, a hose sprayed water all over the lava as it turned into charcoal, and the water washed over Kade, causing him to sputter as he was washed away from soot.

He glanced over to see who saved him, only to see that it was Heatwave, spraying water out of his knuckles as he sarcastically saluted him and said, "You're welcome, 'partner.'"

Kade glanced away from Heatwave after he saved him as Heatwave continued to spray water all over the fires and lava.

Cody watched in relief as Heatwave had saved Kade from danger as the screen switched, showing Chief Burns as he asked, "Cody, we've cleared out most of downtown, but the lava won't quit. If we can't plug the leak soon, I'll need you to send an island-wide evacuation order."

"You got it, Dad," Cody nodded. "But let me call someone first."

Cody pressed a button as the screen switched again and asked, "Doc Greene? Are you there?"

The screen soon showed the same man from earlier, except upside down with all his hair and accessories dangling.

Cody looked confused along with the girl as Cody tapped the screen twice with his hand.

"Do not adjust your monitor," Doc Greene explained. "I'm upside down over here too."

With Doc Greene, he was upside down while speaking to Cody through the TV, explaining, "I'm testing my theory that I can solve equations faster when all my blood is collected in my head."

"Doc?" Cody asked. "Is there a volcano on the island we don't know about?"

"No," Doc Greene answered. "But there is one we do know about. Mount Magma. Built for the World's Fair of 1939. That's when they invented deep-fried cotton candy. You see, when the sugar fell into the hot oil, it-"

"Doc," Cody interrupted. "How could a fake volcano spew real lava into the sewers?"

"Well, the volcano's fake," Doc Greene explained as he reached for something. "But the lava isn't."

He picked up a small notebook and pencil, sketching a small picture on it as he explained, showing the drawing to Cody, "When Mount Magma was moved here, the engineers sunk a pipe deep into the Earth's core. Pent-up pressure in the core could push lava back up the pipe, but the top of the volcano is sealed. So the lava would come out wherever it could. Like, the sewers. The pressure would keep forcing lava out until it covered our whole island. Uh, that would take about 4.7 hours."

Then Doc Green reached down, picked up a stopwatch, and exclaimed, "Ah! Shaved off the full calculation time. Hanging upside down really does work!"

"Doc, this is for real," Cody explained.

Doc Greene flipped himself back up to his feet and continued explaining, although wobbling a little from staying upside down for a long time, "Then you have to get rid of the lava pressure immediately."

Doc Greene walked away and returned with a soda bottle in his hands, showing it to Cody and the girl.

"Think of the volcano as a giant fizzy bottle," Doc Greene explained as he shook the soda bottle. "To get rid of the pressure, you open it a little at a time. A small controlled eruption should take care of your lava problem, but don't open the lid fast or-" he paused as he demonstrated, as the soda exploded and went everywhere.

Blades lifted another concrete slab and landed it around the lava with the help of Chase, as Heatwave and Boulder placed more down.

Heatwave picked up the last concrete slab and placed it down on the open area as Chief Burns explained, "Alright, team, I just got off the com with Cody. He says we can stop this lava, but we have to erupt a volcano."

Blades landed a few feet away from Chief Burns and opened the canopy, allowing Dani to hop out and transform.

"And that's the safest option?" Blades whimpered, moving his knees close to each other.

"It's the only option," Chief Burns nodded. "I won't lie, but things might get hairy. If the volcano goes off too fast, we could get caught in the lava."

The Rescue Bots stood next to each other as the siblings did with their father as he continued, "I'll understand if you don't want to be a part of this mission. It's dangerous. Griffin Rock isn't your home."

"If you go, we go," Heatwave nodded.

"You'll risk your lives for us?" Graham questioned.

"That's what being partners means," Boulder nodded.

"Wherever there is an emergency, there are Rescue Bots ready to serve, save, and protect," Chase quoted.

"We didn't have the chance to save our home," Blades continued. "We won't let you lose yours."

The Burns siblings looked surprised by what they said but understood that they wanted to save the town from destruction as Chief Burns smiled, "Glad to have you on board."

Then he turned to his sons and daughter and said, "But for this plan to work, we'll all have to put aside our differences and work together as real partners. Understood?"

After Chief Burns asked, Graham and Dani nodded in agreement, but Kade stepped up since they suspected him of speaking against the concept… but nodded instead.

Cody watched as everyone started driving towards Mount Magma and looked to the center TV, watching Boulder and Graham ascend to the top.

"You're almost there, guys," Cody mentioned. "Boulder, I'm sending you a schematic of how the volcano works."

Graham watched as a schematic of the volcano appeared on Boulder's monitor and mumbled, "Hmm, yes, I see."

"Graham." Graham looked over at the second monitor to the left as Cody explained, "You have to tell Boulder what you're thinking."

"Oh, right!" Graham remembered. "Sorry."

Then he pointed at where the lever could be, explaining, "Okay, from this diagram, it looks like the volcano's 'on' switch should be inside the mountain nearby."

They soon reached the top of the volcano, and Graham finished after hopping out of Boulder, looking around and saying, "But, I don't know where exactly."

"That's where I can help," Boulder offered as he lifted his scoop before slamming it to the surface, emitting soundwaves through the ground.

The windshield then showed the surface of the volcano's top, and then the image of the lever showed, as Boulder exclaimed, "Found it!"

"Whoa," Graham remarked. "You have seismic imaging?"

"Of course," Boulder nodded before pushing all the dirt and rubble away to get to the lever.

With Chief Burns, he went to the campsites that were beginning to build and ordered, "Head back to town, please. It's about to get hot around here."

Everyone began to argue with Chief Burns but stopped after Chase stepped behind him, so they initially agreed with him and instantly started packing their bags and camping equipment.

Heatwave and Kade were waiting at the cave's entrance, looking bored and glanced at each other before looking away until Kade asked, "What's going on, Cody? When do we get to see some action?"

Cody watched as Blades flew over to Mount Magma and answered, "Blades is moving into place now."

Blades continued to fly over to Mount Magma as Boulder had already moved the dirt and debris away from the lever and hovered over them.

Blades wheeled his wrench down, and Boulder grabbed it, hooking it onto the lever, as Graham informed them through the comlink, "Blades, we're attaching you to the switch for the volcano's lowest setting. When you fly up, the volcano will turn on and blast the lava out. Get clear as quickly as you can!"

"Blades and I have it from here," Dani nodded. "Shoo, you two."

Graham nodded and ran over to Boulder as Boulder transformed, allowing Graham to climb into his cab and drive off.

Blades went higher into the sky and yanked on the lever, successfully pulling it and releasing it instantly, just as it opened halfway and lava started to pour out of it.

"We did it!" Dani remarked. "Now, let's just get out of the-"

A loud explosion caught their attention, and Dani gasped, watching as a column of soot and ash flew out of it, covering Blades in it.

"I can't see!" Blades exclaimed, moving around frantically in the air.

"Blades," Dani ushered. "Go higher! We have to get out of this!"

"Which way is higher?!" Blades exclaimed.

Dani growled after Blades exclaimed and went a little higher into the air, still frantically moving around like a hummingbird.

"Dani!" Cody exclaimed, grasping the microphone as the young girl watched in worry. "Talk nicely!"

"I know, I know." Dani nodded before sighing. "Blades, I'm not gonna let anything happen to you. I know you can't see, but I can read your instruments as clear as day."

Another eruption came from the volcano as Blades exclaimed, and Dani assured, "I'll guide you! You're right side up! Just take us as high as you can, and it's okay if you go slow!"

"Here goes nothing," Blades whimpered.

Soon Blades and Dani escaped from the clouds of soot and ash, as Cody cheered, "You did it, Blades!"

"I did it, Dani!" Blades cheered. "I did it!"

Then a loud hiccup came from behind as Blades looked startled before sheepishly pardoning, "Um, excuse me? I think my rotor just hiccuped."

"It must be from the ash," Dani explained. "We better take you down."

Blades landed on a cliff and watched as the volcano continued to erupt as Kade and Heatwave sprayed the escaping lava on the sides.

Then Kade pressed a button on his comlink as Chief Burns asked, "How is it looking, Kade?"

"This lava isn't going anywhere," Kade informed.

"Good," Chief Burns nodded. "Chase and I closed all the mountain roads just in case. Sounds like crisis averted, team."

"Way to go, everyone!" Cody cheered as the girl excitedly hopped up and down while knocking her knuckles together. "We'll be waiting for you in the bunker."

The girl then looked over at Cody and gently patted his shoulder as he glanced over at her.

Then, she picked up a random book and pointed at the letters as if she was silently asking, 'Can you teach me how to speak?'

"Sure," Cody nodded. "I can teach you. But, we need to fix something for Graham."

The girl nodded after Cody suggested and followed him to the bunker as the Command Center Comlink was still on.

But as Dani watched the lava, something went wrong as she gasped and disappeared, entering a tunnel next to it.

"That's weird," Dani remarked. "The lava is disappearing."

"Wasn't that what we wanted?" Blades asked.

"Not like this," Dani shook her head. "Uh, you guys? The lava on my side is draining into some hole in the rock."

"Oh, that's not a hole," Graham fretted. "It's a tunnel!"

"'A tunnel?'" Boulder asked. "Like the ones that all lead to the firehouse bunker?"

Graham nodded after Boulder asked as Heatwave exclaimed, "Wait a minute, the lava is flowing towards the bunker?!"

"But that's where Cody and Squirt is!" Kade exclaimed.

Meanwhile, Cody was teaching the girl how to speak one of the words as she repeated the word slowly, even saying it when she got the pronunciation right.

Even fixing the pinball machine's lever that Boulder accidentally destroyed while the girl held the book in her hands, squinting a few times and stammering with the word.

But they did not notice that the lava deep within the tunnel to the bunker was slowly filling up with lava.

"Cody," Heatwave's voice spoke through the Command Center Comlink's speakers to get his attention, but no one was there.

"Cody, can you hear us?" Heatwave asked as he removed his finger from his audio receptor. "They must be offline and underground by now."

"Why didn't you warn us that they might be in danger?!" Kade exclaimed.

"I-I didn't know!" Graham stammered. "There's no tunnel on the schematic!"

Kade grunted in anger and exclaimed, "We're supposed to be heroes if we can't do anything!"

Heatwave transformed and rolled up next to Kade, demanding, "We can do plenty if you stop complaining and get in!"

So Kade did so as Heatwave asked, "Graham, are there any other tunnels near here that intersect the path of the lava?"

"I don't know," Graham fretted as he flipped through the schematics on his tablet. "None of these diagrams are up to date!"

Then he turned to Boulder and asked, "Boulder, can you map the tunnels below us?"

Boulder transformed and banged his shovel into the ground, emitting the soundwaves into the floor as Graham pressed the button on his comlink.

"Dani, we're gonna need water," Graham informed. "Maybe we can cool this lava and slow it down."

"I'll see what I can do," Dani nodded.

"Found it!" Boulder exclaimed as it showed the schematic of the tunnels and the flowing lava on his windshield.

Graham points to the diagram and explains to Kade and Heatwave, "Okay, here's the lava. If you take the tunnel below, you might have the time to stop the flow before it reaches the kids. But you'd have to make it to this crossing before the lava does."

"We will," Kade nodded.

Then, Heatwave drove into the cave as Dani searched for anything to cool the lava down.

She discovered a water tower in the distance as she explained, "I see a water tower, but there's no way we can get there on foot."

Then Blades went into the air as his rotors hiccupped, flying back into the soot and ash.

"Whoa, Blades!" Dani exclaimed. "Oh, no, we can't fly in this ash. It might freeze your rotors!"

"And it might not," Blades added. "If it means helping Cody and the kid, it's worth a few hiccups. Excuse me in advance?"

"Anytime, partner," Dani winked as Blades headed towards the water tower ahead of them.

Heatwave continued driving through the tunnel as he and Kade sped to the crossing, trying to outrun the lava.

"The intersection should be straight ahead," Graham informed.

The schematic of the tunnels appeared on Heatwave's monitor, showing the direction they needed to go.

Then, Heatwave went over some bumps on the road that jostled Kade around but kept moving forward.

Kade glanced up and saw something ahead of them, exclaiming, "No, no, no!"

A rockslide was blocking their way as Heatwave stopped, and Kade jumped out and started to move the rocks.

"We'll never get through!" Kade exclaimed.

"Get in," Heatwave demanded as Kade dropped a rock that he picked up and hopped back into his cab.

Then, Heatwave pulled back and started to rev his engine as Kade watched with confusion.

After revving a few times, Heatwave launched forward as Kade winced for impact, breaking through the rock slide and onto the other side of the tunnel.

Kade chuckled and asked, "How did you know that would work?"

"I didn't," Heatwave sighed.

Kade did not say anything else, and Heatwave soon reached the intersection, and he hopped out as Heatwave transformed.

He handed his hose over to him as Kade explained, "Like Graham said, if we can cool down the lava, we can stop it from reaching the kids."

"Not if it keeps coming," Heatwave remarked, using his water through his knuckles.

As the lava continued to move forward, Heatwave and Kade stepped back from getting burned.

Boulder and Graham watched as the lava continued to flow until Blades arrived with the water tower on his hook.

"Anyone order a drink?" Dani jokes.

"What?" Blades exclaimed. "No, we're taking this to the lava-Oh! I get it. Earth humor."

"The lava is moving too fast!" Kade exclaimed as they continued backing.

Then Heatwave bashed against the ceiling when he backed up again, causing him to stop and glance up.

"Good as a place as any to hold our ground," Heatwave remarked before returning to spray at the lava.

Suddenly, water did not spray out of the hose as Kade glanced down before glancing up at Heatwave and asked, "What happened?"

"We've exhausted my water reserves," Heatwave answered before walking forward to the lava. "Go! Save yourself!"

Kade glanced down through the tunnel for a brief second before returning to Heatwave's side and said, "Fat chance."

They both stood their ground as the lava inched closer, getting hotter and hotter by the second.

Blades hovered over the gap where the lava flowed through as Graham said, "Okay, Blades. Drop the water now!"

Blades released his hook, and the water tower of water dropped through the gap, and water splashed everywhere, cooling the lava and emitting steam as it traveled down the tunnels.

Kade winced as the heat was slowly getting too close to him and Heatwave as they stood in its path.

He felt like he was near an oven with its door wide open, and the plastic on his jacket and such was slowly heating up.

Suddenly, the sound of roaring water took Kade by surprise as water washed over the lava and cooled it down from its coldness, turning it into black.

Kade and Heatwave stared at the water and glanced toward each other before looking down as the water evaporated, leaving behind cooled-down lava.

"Yes!" Kade cheered. "The team up top came through!"

Then he turned to Heatwave and asked, "Uh, you know, this doesn't mean we're best friends or anything."

Heatwave stood up to his height after Kade asked, responding, "I was thinking the same exact thing."

Then he transformed into his vehicle mode and opened his door for Kade as he hopped inside.

Meanwhile, Cody finished fixing the pinball machine as the girl was halfway through the book, squinting at the next word and moving the book around to read it clearly.

Cody noticed her struggling and thought to himself, seeing that she could need glasses.

Then the door to the tunnels opened, and the two kids glanced over, watching Heatwave drive into the bunker with Kade inside.

Cody stood up to his feet after watching Heatwave and Kade enter the bunker as the girl placed the book down.

"Hey," Cody greeted. "How did you guys get in here?"

But Kade did not say anything after hopping out of Heatwave's cab and ran over to the two, unexpectedly giving them a hug.

The girl and Cody looked confused while being hugged before Kade scolded after releasing them, "Don't you ever scare us like that again!"

Heatwave transformed and agreed, "Yeah, what he said."

Cody looked confused with the girl as Cody asked, "What did I do?"

That morning Graham and Dani were reading books while Kade watched TV when Cody ran in with the girl.

"You guys!" Cody exclaimed. "You gotta come check this out!"

So Cody and the girl brought the siblings down into the bunker through the elevator.

Cody was pushing Kade behind his back as the girl was tugging Graham's wrist as he followed.

Then, Cody and the girl mentioned over to the wall as the siblings looked surprised.

"What do you think?" Cody asked.

Hanging on the wall where the Rescue Bots are is their symbol, all painted with the help of Chief Burns.

"I mean," Cody spoke. "This is their home now, too. Right?"

The girl nodded in agreement and stuttered before finally asking, "F-Family?"

Kade smiled after they asked, hugged Cody, and placed a hand on the girl's shoulder as the girl smiled, "Sure, looks that way."
