It was another day in Griffin Rock… but an out-of-control Delorean car covered in weird scientific things ran through the streets.
The out-of-control Delorean crashed into a newspaper bin as someone in the car screamed in fear, showing that it was Doc Greene.
The inside of the Delorean had a strange bubbling container filled with green liquid in the center as Doc Greene was holding on to the wheel tightly.
Then the phone rang as Doc Greene asked, "Can I call you back?"
He swerved as he continued, "This really isn't a good time!"
With Chief Burns, he was following the out-of-control Delorean from behind as he responded, "I can see that, Doc."
The two cars drove down the street at full speed as Doc Greene continued, "My solar car is out of control!"
Doc Greene tried to push the brake pedal as he explained, "Darn thing won't shut off!"
And he swerved a few times to avoid oncoming traffic and cars as he continued, "The accelerator is stuck! The steering system seems to have a mind of its own!"
He winced a few times as he steered clear of pedestrians and such, even driving down streets and sidewalks as Chase continued to follow him and the out-of-control Delorean from behind.
"And…" Doc Greene added as he gulped. "I'm getting a little carsick."
He shrieked when the solar car picked up speed as Chief Burns pressed a button on his comlink, saying, "Alright, team. You heard the Doc. Let's do what we do."
"The vehicle has turned south onto March Lane," Chase informed Chief Burns.
Blades hovered over the street with Dani and Cody while the girl sat in the back, now wearing rectangular dark blue glasses.
"Hey, how about we drop down and bounce on his roof to slow him down?" Dani questioned.
"Helping out is good," Blades nodded. "Dropping's okay. Bouncing, I'd like to discuss it a little further."
"Dani," Chief Burns spoke through her walkie-talkie. "You three just keep an eye on things from up there."
Dani groaned with irritation as Cody looked through the binoculars, watching the out-of-control Delorean on a different street as he exclaimed, "Doc's now on Waverly!"
Then Cody looked down and saw a row of cars and exclaimed, "Headed right for some parked cars!"
"Roger that," Kade nodded. "I'm on it."
Heatwave turned a corner as Heatwave asked, "I think you mean we're on it, don't you?"
"Just get us there, Heatwave," Kade huffed.
Doc Greene continued driving uncontrollably down the street before noticing the parked cars and gasping with fear as he headed towards them.
Luckily, Heatwave arrived on time and transformed as Doc Greene screamed in fear, wincing and covering his face for the expected crash.
But Heatwave took his ladder off his back and placed it down in front of the solar car, launching it into the air and landing safely on the ground, not hitting any parked cars.
Heatwave quickly placed the ladder back on his back and chased after Doc Greene from behind.
After that, Doc Greene peeked through his arms after nothing happened and sighed in relief.
Cody watched through the binoculars as he informed them, "Doc's back on Main Street."
"You know," Blades spoke up. "If I were a ground unit, I'd try to pop Doc's tires."
"Good idea, Blades!" Dani nodded. "Guys, I'll go back to the station and get a spike strip, then can-"
"No need, Dani," Graham spoke through Blades' monitor. "Boulder and I can improvise."
Boulder drove down a muddy path between two buildings, and Graham hopped out of his cab.
After Graham hopped out of Boulder's cab, Boulder transformed into his robot mode and was covered in mud on some parts of his body.
Graham looked at the surroundings and turned to Boulder, tapping a button on his tablet and showing a schematic of the plan.
"What do you think?" Graham asked. "Feasible?"
Boulder leaned down to look and agreed, "A thing of beauty!"
Then he walked over to a manhole cover and stomped, launching the manhole cover up and grabbing it in his hand.
After grabbing the manhole cover, Boulder tossed the manhole cover at a sign with a hammer symbol on it, snapping it halfway off the chains and banged against a large coil of a spiked fence.
The large coil of spiked fences unrolled down the road, leaving behind a trail of spiked fencing as the out-of-control solar car drove over it, popping the wheels.
Graham and Boulder smiled after the wheels popped and glanced at each other… until the wheels automatically repaired themselves and sped up.
They both perked with shock after the wheels were automatically repaired as Doc Greene noted, "Well, at least I know the automated tire replacement works."
Then he screamed when the out-of-control solar car went off the road and onto rocky terrain as Blades followed it from behind in the sky.
Cody watched through the binoculars as the solar car drove down a different road until he noticed the bridge was destroyed ahead of it.
"Oh no!" Cody winced. "Doc's on Old Canyon Road!"
Doc Greene's solar car continued to drive uncontrollably down the road as Blades followed from overhead.
"Blades, can you stop Doc's car if we land in front of it?" Dani questioned.
"Beats dropping and bouncing," Blades nodded.
"No, Dani," Chief Burns spoke. "Stay in the air."
Chase and Chief Burns followed Doc Greene's out-of-control solar car as he informed Dani, "Chase and I are closing in."
Doc Greene's solar car continued to drive towards the bridge as Chase closed in from behind as Chief Burns applied speed.
When Chase was close enough to Doc Greene's solar car, Chase transformed and grabbed the back of the solar car, digging his heels back as Doc Greene held onto the driving wheel tightly.
Chase dug his heels deep into the ground as he tried to screech to a halt, leaving behind some tire and heel marks against the pavement.
The car inched closer to the bridge as Chase applied more strength to his heels, managing to slow down in time as the front of the automobile was halfway over the broken-down bridge.
Chase pulled the car backwards as the remaining bridge collapsed, saving Doc Greene from danger.
Once the car had been shut down, Chase's heels were sizzling with heat as Chief Burns went to check on Doc Greene.
"It's alright, Doc," Chief Burns assured. "You can, uh, let go of the wheel now."
Doc Greene's hands were shaking after Chief Burns told him to, but he released the wheel as it left behind grip marks from him holding on tightly.
Doc Greene sighed after releasing the wheel before explaining, "All in all, except for the part I couldn't stop or steer. Not a bad test run!"
"Uh," Chief Burns sighed. "Yeah."
"An uncontrolled vehicle," the news reporter spoke. "An unsuspecting public."
It showed the reporter standing in front of the firehouse while speaking through a microphone with a hovering camera.
"Disaster in the making," the news reporter continued. "How did our brave family of heroes save Griffin Rock yet again?"
Then he turned to Kade and asked, "Kade Burns?"
"Guts," Kade responded as he proudly crossed his arms over his chest. "That's what it takes to stare down a runaway car with nothing but a ladder. It was harrowing, but I dug deep, and I-"
"Graham!" the news reporter turned to Graham as he perked. "Anything to add?"
"Well, um," Graham stammered. "To create a makeshift tire hazard, I had to calculate the distance between-"
"And how did you contribute, Dani?" the news reporter asked, turning to Dani.
"Me?" Dani asked. "I-"
"Ah, Dani monitors everything from the air," Kade interrupted. "We couldn't do our job without my little sis! Oh," Kade chuckled. "We probably could, but," Kade laughed as Dani chuckled slightly but walked away in anger. "As I was saying, rescue requires skills."
Cody watched as Dani walked away, feeling sad for Dani to be pushed like that.
Meanwhile, the Rescue Bots were relaxing after a hard day of rescue as Heatwave was using his water to wash Boulder down from being covered in mud.
"You know," Heatwave spoke. "If there's mud to be found, Boulder's gonna roll right through it."
"I'm part tractor," Boulder remarked. "It's what I do."
Chase was buffing out the bottom of his feet with an automatic brush, saying, "I believe there must be a more efficient way to halt a runaway car than," He paused and stopped brushing. "Skiing behind it."
"There sure is," Cody nodded with a chuckle. "Keeping Doc Greene out of the driver's seat."
Boulder laughed too after Cody joked as he took the long pole brush from Blades and helped Boulder with his mud, "Gotta love the Doc! Keeps us busy."
Cody brushed around Boulder's chest as Blades sighed, mentioning, "Some of us. Others only watch from the sky."
"Aw, don't feel bad, Blades," Cody assured. "Maybe our next rescue will happen in the air!"
Blades sighed and nodded, "That would be nice. As long as it's not too high in the air."
"What's it matter who does what," Heatwave remarked. "None of us is appreciated!"
"What do you mean, Heatwave?" Cody asked.
"Did you notice that I was the one risking the hook and ladder?" Heatwave snapped. "But Kade took all the credit. Once again."
"Well, I don't always get thanked for helping either," Cody nodded. "Neither does Dani. But I know we're appreciated."
"Something tells me that Dani would not agree with you," Blades remarked.
That night, Dani entered the laboratory on the cliffside and opened the door, asking, "Doc? Are you here?"
Then she was grabbed by the wrist by someone and yanked to the side as a roll of newspaper flew and smacked against the door, prompting it to close.
It was Doc Greene as they looked over the tipped-over table, and Doc Greene apologized, "Sorry, Dani. I'm building a replacement for the newspaper dispenser I ran over."
The new newspaper dispenser whirred and beeped, launching a rolled print at Dani and Doc Greene but missing as they ducked.
"One that beans readers in the head?" Dani chuckled.
"Oh, no, no, no," Doc Greene assured her. "One that tosses papers into your car as you drive by."
A roll of newspaper landed on the table as Dani poked her head around it, looking over at the dispenser as it launched another, landing near them.
"Anyway," Doc Greene sighed. "I'm glad you're here. I want to thank you for your help today."
"Well, I didn't do much," Dani sighed before lifting a rolled-up paper in her hand. "But that's all going to change."
She opened the roll of paper and showed Doc Greene a sketch of Blades but with a scoop underneath him.
"Can you build me one of these?" Dani asked.
"Ah," Doc Greene murmured. "A scoop claw. They used something like this on the island years ago for logging. Might even have one in storage."
"Could you lend it to me?" Dani asked.
They winced when a newspaper smacked against the table as Doc Greene said, "Absolutely!"
Then they both poked their heads over the table as Doc Greene added, "Right after that thing runs out of Sunday editions."
After Doc Greene mentioned the dispenser, the dispenser launched a newspaper at them as they ducked… but destroyed the camera as it turned black.
That morning, Cody and the girl heard whirring noises coming from the garage, so they went down the firepole to investigate.
Instead, they saw a scoop claw attached to Blades from Dani underneath him.
"Hey, Dani," Cody asked. "What are you doing?"
"Cody, I beg of you," Blades spoke worriedly. "Talk some sense into your sister, please!"
"Relax, Blades!" Dani remarked. "You're looking good."
"Hardly noticeable," Boulder remarked.
"Yeah," Heatwave grumbled as he had his arms crossed over his chest. "Just don't fly over any power lines."
"Actually," Chase added. "That is sound advice."
"What is that thing?" Cody asked as the girl looked confused.
"A scoop claw, and it is gonna put Blades and me into the action," Dani answered before looking up at Blades, patting his leg. "Right, Blades?"
"So you keep telling me." Blades whined.
"Time to winch it up," Dani nodded. "And me the remote, please."
Cody picked up the remote and said, "I can do it!"
"I don't know," Dani sighed as she took the remote from Cody. "It's a little complicated."
She pressed the center button, and the scoop claw retracted itself onto Blades' underside as Cody remarked, his arms crossed over his chest, "Yeah, pressing a button is so tricky."
Dani sighed and turned around, ruffling Cody's hair, "I just want it done right, little brother. Let's see you transform with it, Blades."
She pressed a foot pedal with her foot as the stand went down to ground level as Blades whined, "Nobody laugh." and transformed.
"Oh, I love it!" Dani remarked as she ran off. "I have to show Dad!"
…But with Heatwave and Boulder… it looked funny to them as they began to laugh at Blades.
"What?" Blades whined as he glanced down at the scoop claw that protruded slightly out of his stomach and looked back at them. "Does it make me look fat?"
"Oh, not at all," Heatwave chuckled. "Captain Lead Belly."
"Come on, don't make fun of him!" Cody gently scolded.
"Yeah, no scold," the girl nodded, speaking broken English.
"Ah, he knows we're joking," Heatwave shrugged before gently elbowing Boulder. "Sort of."
Then they returned to laughing as Cody frowned, and Blades started to feel self-conscious with the scoop claw.
"Maybe Blades just wants to be treated like he matters!" Cody snapped, walking away from the group.
The girl nodded with a huff and followed Cody, irritated with the others for making fun of Blades.
"Oh…" Heatwave groaned. "Oh, come on, Cody. We're just-"
He paused and looked at the others, groaning, "You guys never know when to stop, do you?"
Then alarms blared as everyone perked as Chief Burns' voice spoke, "Cody, get to the Command Center. We have a rock slide to deal with."
Cody instantly went to the elevator with the girl following him as the Rescue Bots with their partners drove off to where the incident was.
There were multiple almost human-sized rocks falling from the cliffside, but none hit any houses, except for one that went through a window.
The Rescue Bots arrived and transformed into their bot forms, climbing the mountainside and smashing rocks large enough to destroy houses and buildings.
They continued to smash the rocks as they came tumbling down to them, but one of them crashed into Chase, but Chase survived the impact.
Chief Burns sat up slightly from his seat and asked, "Dani, what's your twenty?"
"We need all hands," Chief Burns informed.
"Blades and I are almost there," Dani nodded.
"Cody, can you see what's coming down the hillside for us?" Chief Burns asked.
"Stand by." Cody nodded and pressed a few buttons as the girl watched.
The camera slowly moves up the mountain before a massive rock becomes loose and rolls towards the Rescue Bots!
"A boulder as big as a house is coming towards you!" Cody exclaimed.
"'A house?'" Boulder repeated. "Sounds like the whole neighborhood."
Then the massive boulder appeared, crashing through trees and heading towards them.
"The way I see it, we have two options," Chief Burns nodded. "Smash it or grab it."
"Smash it!" Heatwave selected, moving in front of the others. "On three!"
The boulder came closer as Heatwave counted, "One, two!"
But before they could punch the boulder, something grabbed it from on top, and they glanced up, seeing Blades using the scoop claw as he exclaimed, "Three!"
Then Blades lifted the boulder up and started moving it to the side as the Rescue Bots watched in amazement.
"Whoa," Cody remarked in awe as he watched Blades fly in the distance.
"Nice!" the girl remarked.
"Stand down, boys," Dani remarked. "Blades and I have it under control."
"Nice job, Dani," Chief Burns nodded. "You too, Blades."
"That was certainly unexpected," Graham remarked. "Though impressive!"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Kade huffed. "But when do we not test the apparatus before using it?"
"Consider today's test, Grumpy," Dani remarked. "See you back home!"
Boulder, Chase, and Heatwave watched Blades carry the boulder away as Heatwave sighed, "There'll be no living with Blades now."
Back at the firehouse, Blades came down with his scoop claw on his stomach, patting it with his hand as Cody and the girl stepped out.
"Blades, that was so cool!" Cody remarked.
"Yeah, cool!" the girl agreed.
"How'd you know you could pull that off?" Cody asked.
"I didn't really," Blades stammered. "I-I thought the boulder would be too heavy, but then I tapped into a reserve of strength I didn't think I had!"
"I'm trying to tap into a reserve of patience I don't think I have," Heatwave growled.
"For the record, Blades," Chase added. "That operation exceeded the acceptable operation of risk."
"Guys, you should be happy for him," Cody protested. "It was a great save!"
"Sure was," Boulder agreed with a sigh. "We could have been flattened out there. So thank you, Blades, for coming to our rescue."
"Anytime," Blades bowed, but Heatwave rolled his eyes with a groan.
Cody was looking through the comlink screen as there was a tree blocking a car's way with a line behind.
Huxley was at the end of the line, watching Boulder walk towards the fallen tree where Graham was.
Boulder walked over to lift the tree as Graham interacted with him, indicating that Graham was in control.
But before he could grab the tree, Blades' scoop claw came down and grabbed it, lifting it as Boulder watched with Graham.
Dani gave them the thumbs up and left, leaving Boulder and Graham confused about what had happened.
A small fire had started near some tall grass, and Heatwave with Kade came to put the fire out as Huxley had followed with them.
Kade stepped out and instructed Heatwave to use his water to put the fire out, but a large splash of water landed on the fire instead, soaking Heatwave and Kade along with it.
They glanced up to see Dani with Blades with the scoop claw, leaving the scene as Heatwave growled in anger.
Chief Burns was stepping out of Chase to give a speeding ticket to a driver, but the driver started his car and drove away before Chief Burns could walk up next to him.
Chase drove up to Chief Burns and opened his door, allowing the Chief to get back inside, but stopped when they heard him scream.
Blades came back with the driver's car in his scoop claw with the driver inside as both Chief Burns and Chase looked confused.
"And there you have it!" Huxley exclaimed as the camera recorded the scene. "Another thrilling rescue by Dani Burns and her helicopter bot!"
Cody, Graham, Kade, and the young girl were looking at the TV as Kade had his arms crossed over his chest, and Cody glanced over at the window.
He looked through and watched Blades return as Cody informed, "Okay, if you yell, she's just going to yell back."
"We're not mad, Cody," Graham assured. "We only want to talk to her."
"No, I'm mad," Kade huffed as he pointed at himself.
"She's just trying to help," Cody assured.
"Yeah," the girl nodded. "Sibling help sibling!"
"Helping is one thing," Kade continued as he mentioned to Dani, who was walking down the stairs. "Hogging every mission is another!"
"Hey, slackers!" Dani remarked as she placed her hands on Kade and Graham's shoulders. "Rescue work has never been this much fun, am I right? Whoo!"
Then she paused after seeing that no one was excited like her, asking, "Something wrong?"
Graham cleared his throat and answered, "Uh, Dani. We're concerned you might be stretching yourself a little thin."
"What he means is," Kade added. "Stop hijacking our rescues!"
"Your rescues?" Dani huffed.
"Uh, yeah," Kade barked. "You're swooping in like some hotshot!"
"Actually," Dani frowned. "I think I'm doing a good job."
"Except it's not your job, Dani," Kade informed. "It's all of ours."
"Well, if you ask me," Cody spoke up. "There's always room for-"
"Oh, Cody, please," Dani interrupted, causing the young girl to perk. "This doesn't really concern you."
Dani's words hurt Cody as the young girl frowned, gently taking Cody's land and leading him to the bunker as Dani asked, "You know, where's Dad? What's he say about this?"
"Eh, you know, Dad," Graham shrugged. "He wants us to work this out for ourselves."
When Cody and the girl reached the bunker, they heard whirring noises and glanced over, seeing Heatwave holding the bolter as he asked, "Hand over that claw, Blades. I promise you won't feel a thing."
"Cody," Blades whimpered. "A little help, please."
"This doesn't concern you, Cody," Heatwave dismissed.
"Really?!" Cody exclaimed. "You guys too?"
"Ah, we were just thinking that it might be best if the claw isn't used quite so often," Boulder assured.
"Nobody had a problem when it was a big joke," Blades snapped. "But now that I'm saving the day-"
"Technically," Chase interrupted. "You're not saving the day. You're assisting the day when the day has not required assistance."
"That claw is staying right where it is," Dani angrily informed after sliding down the fire pipe. "Blades, we're going back out on patrol where we are appreciated."
Dani walked away in anger, and Blades said, "Excuse me, I'm needed in the field."
Blades followed Dani as the three bots watched as Cody looked up at them as Heatwave asked, "What are you gonna do about this, Cody?"
"Nothing," Cody frowned. "Like everybody says, 'this doesn't concern me,' right?"
The girl's expression softens after Cody mentions and gives him an assuring pat before frowning at the bots with a glare.
But Cody stopped and sighed, "Fine, I'll see what I can do."
Then he chased after Dani, calling, "Dani, hold on! I'll be your spotter."
The girl watched as Cody followed his sister and glanced up at the bots, hissing, "Dinguses," before walking away as the bots glanced at each other.
Blades flew through a darkened place on the other side of the island as Dani said, "Keep your eyes peeled, Cody."
Above them, lightning clouds rolled as bolts of lightning zapped through the clouds as they hovered over land.
"Okay," Dani sighed. "With luck, we can take care of any problems before Kade or Graham even learn about them."
"You know the saying," Blades chuckled. "'The whirlybird gets the worm.'"
"I liked you all better when you were on the same team," Cody sighed.
"We're still a team, Cody," Dani assured. "We're just-" she paused as she frowned. "Sometimes Kade and Graham think I can't do anything on my own."
"Yeah, I know the feeling," Cody sighed as he glanced away from his sister and looked out at the view.
"What do you mean?" Dani asked.
"You kind of treat me the same way," Cody remarked.
"Oh, Cody," Dani sighed. "I do not." Then she paused and asked, "…Do I?"
"Yeah, you do," Cody nodded. "And then every time Kade or Graham make you mad, I have to stay out of your way."
"You think I take my anger out on you?" Dani slowly asked.
"Cody speaks the truth," Blades nodded. "Take it from someone whose controls get a furious workout when you're mad."
Dani stayed silent after Blades agreed with Cody as she sighed, "Cody, I'm sorry. I'll do better, I promise."
"Thanks," Cody thanked.
"And you too, Blades," Dani remarked. "I'll go easy on the controls."
"Hmm," Blades nodded. "This conversation has been very cleansing, hasn't it?"
A loud thunderbolt struck through the air that caused both Dani and Cody to perk, realizing that they had already headed into a storm.
"We better head back," Dani remarked. "Electrical storms and aeronautics do not mix."
Blades was about to turn around to head back to the firehouse when a thunderbolt struck the back rotor, causing Blades to spin out of control.
"Whoa!" Cody exclaimed as Blades headed towards the ground.
Everything started to be electrocuted as the scene continued to spin as Blades exclaimed, "I'm losing altitude! Hang on!"
"Mayday, mayday!" Dani spoke through the microphone. "Dad, Graham, Kade, is anyone there?"
"Dani?" It was the young girl's voice as she spoke through the microphone. "Dani? What's wrong?"
The girl was at the controls in the comlink tower in Cody's seat as Dani explained through the comlink, though glitching in and out, "Hit by lighting! I'm forced to land! Cody's with me!"
"What is location?!" the girl panicked.
No response as the girl repeated, speaking clearly with a tone of panic, "Dani, please tell me where you are?!"
"Rick Line Cliff!" Dani answered.
The girl perked and instantly started to panic more, thinking about what she could do but remembering the speakers.
She pressed a few buttons that she remembered Cody using once to alert the others in the house and grabbed the microphone.
"Everyone!" she spoke through the microphone. "Dani is in trouble! Blades got hit by lightning, and she has Cody with her! She said that she is at Rick Line Cliff!"
Heatwave's face appeared on the screen as he nodded, saying, "Rescue bots, roll to the rescue!"
Instantly, all three of the remaining Rescue Bots headed out of the firehouse and headed towards the direction of Rick Line Cliff, as the young girl watched anxiously.
Meanwhile, Dani and Cody examine Blades' injury as Blades assures them, "Don't worry. I'm sure it looks worse than it feels."
Blades transformed and winced when he got onto his feet, leaning against the side of the cliff as he responded, "Actually, no. It hurts! I must've slightly damaged my ballpoints in my ankles from that lightning bolt."
Dani and Cody glanced at each other after Blades mentioned, as Cody assured, "Just take it easy, Blades."
"Yeah," Dani nodded. "Help will be here soon."
Another lightning bolt went through the air as everyone perked, watching as one of them hit a tree, causing it to be on fire.
The fire spread fast and covered the forest around them, and by using the wind as Cody exclaimed, "We can't stay here! Which way to the road?"
They all glanced around to find a route to take them to the road as they looked up the cliff as Dani pointed.
"And maybe we should ride out the fire inside Blades?" Dani suggested.
Blades winced after moving slightly on his feet and explained, "I can handle the heat, but you two would bake inside me like snickerdoodles!"
"So that cliff is our only way out?" Cody asked.
"We don't have the equipment to scale it," Dani sighed.
Then, Cody glanced at Blades' scoop claw and pointed, "Sure we do."
Blades had the scoop claw in his left hand as Dani and Cody were in his cab, swinging it around before tossing it upward, successfully landing in between two rocks and opening it.
Double-checking, Blades tugged the rope twice before nodding after it was secure.
Using both hands, Blades positioned himself to start to climb up the side of the cliff while carrying Cody and Dani in his cab and using his rope as a harness.
"Here we go," Blades informed. "Activate the winch."
Cody passes the remote to Dani, who looks at it before saying, "You do it," and gently pushing the remote to him.
Cody softly smiled after Dani handed the remote to him and pressed the down button, activating the winch as Blades began to climb.
But as Blades was climbing, the bolt holding the scoop claw began to loosen with every step Blades took.
After Blades finally reached the top, the bolt came loose and popped out, causing Blades to almost fall backwards.
"Whoa!" Blades exclaimed as Dani and Cody held on but luckily stayed on the cliff. "Everyone alright?"
"Yes," Dani sighed in relief. "Nice job, Blades."
Then a lightning bolt went through the air, and everyone perked, and Cody asked, "Yeah, but now what? Look!"
Blades and the others watched as the flames grew higher as Blades remarked, "Well, that's a problem."
Dani pressed a button on her walkie-talkie and asked, "Dad, do you read? Kade? Graham?"
But nothing responded, and static only came from her walkie-talkie as Dani took it off.
"That power surge must have fried it." Dani sighed.
"I'll try flying again," Blades nodded.
Blades transformed and started up again, trying to fly in the air, but winced in pain after his back rotors began to hurt again.
He spun around as he tried to force himself to fly as Cody exclaimed, "No Blades, stop! You're hurt!"
So Blades was forced to land back on top of the cliff as he softly apologized, "I'm sorry."
"Don't be." Dani took her helmet off. "Everything will be alright."
Then she glanced out into the open as she added, "The team will find us."
Meanwhile, Boulder, Heatwave, and Chase reached the other side of the cliff and headed towards the fire in the forest.
In Chase, Chief Burns watched as a hologram of an image of Blades appeared on the windshield.
It reveals Blades on top of the cliff in the middle of the blazing fire.
"I see them," Chief Burns nodded. "Heatwave, Kade, lead the way!"
They all stopped once they were close to the fire as Heatwave said, "You heard the Chief, bots. Let's grow some legs."
They all transformed, and Heatwave used his water to extinguish the fire as he led the group into the halfway burned forest.
Meanwhile, Blades was still resting as Dani and Cody were panting and slightly sweating as Dani remarked, "Now I know how the snickerdoodles feel."
"Blades," Cody spoke. "You might have to transform so we can make a run for the road."
"I'm sorry to have to tell you this," Blades sadly explained. "But I can't move. I must have been more damaged than I thought."
A burnt tree branch smacked Blades' canopy after Blades informed and Cody and Dani held hands, hoping that the family would arrive.
Before anything else happened, water started dripping on Blades' canopy before a gust of water landed on him, cooling the bot down as Cody and Dani watched.
The water stopped after Blades had cooled down, seeing that the fire had died down.
Three shadows appeared after the water stopped, revealing it to be Heatwave with Chase and Boulder.
Blades' monitor glitches before switching to Chief Burns as he asks, "Is everyone alright?"
Dani sighed as she answered, "We are. Thanks to Blades."
"But he's injured, Dad," Cody explained. "Bad. He can't transform."
"He won't need to," Heatwave nodded.
So all three Rescue Bots started to carry the injured Blades down the steep mountainside and finally arrived at the firehouse.
When they reached home, the girl ran out of the firehouse after Dani and Cody climbed out of Blades, giving them a tight hug.
And unexpectedly cried in Dani's and Cody's arms, confusing them about why she was crying.
Huxley Prescot was interviewing Dani as he asked, "Dani, how did it feel to be a rescuer in need of rescue?"
"I felt," she paused. "Lucky to be a part of such a brave family of heroes. And that includes my little brother, Cody."
Cody, Heatwave, Chase, Boulder, and the girl were watching TV with Dani's interview as Cody smiled after she mentioned him, thanking, "Thanks, Dani."
"And we couldn't do any of what we do without our amazing, amazing rescue vehicles," Dani added.
Boulder gently elbowed Heatwave as he remarked, "See that, Heatwave? We're officially appreciated."
"She could have mentioned us by name," Heatwave huffed, his arms crossed over his chest.
Then, footsteps headed towards the three bots as Chase asked, glancing over at him, "Blades, how are you feeling?"
"Much better, thank you," Blades nodded. "Spend an hour in the stasis pod, and I'm ready for action!"
After Blades walked out of the room after being healed, the girl smiled and ran over to him, hugging his leg as hard as she could.
"Only an hour?" Cody asked. "Then where have you been all afternoon?"
"Dani and I were retrieving the scoop claw from the cliff," Blades explained.
The bots groaned after Blades explained as Boulder asked, "Oh, you're still going to use that thing?"
"Only when we need it," Blades added. "Which hopefully won't be too often. That claw is so uncomfortable!"
"And you know what else?" Heatwave added. "Your waistline looks better too."
"Thank you for noticing," Blades nodded, as everyone chuckled lightly at the joke. "Oh, while in the forest, I found this stuck in one of my back rotors when I picked up some dirt from crashing."
Blades reached into his cockpit and took something from inside, handing it to the girl as she took it into her hands.
The girl saw that it looked like a silver vintage key that was slightly rusty and covered in dirt but looked intact still.
Confused, the girl removed the dirt with her fingers and looked at the head of the key, seeing that it showed strange symbols.
"Hey, I remember that symbol!" Cody pointed out, mentioning the Autobot symbol. "But, what are the others?"
The girl remained silent as she stared at the key thoughtfully, answering, "I don't know. Maybe we could find some clues together to figure out what they are."
Cody nodded after the girl explained and watched her place the key into the pocket of her blue jeans.
Then, Chief Burns entered the underground bunker with a handful of papers, and everyone perked as he said, "I need the girl to come here. I… got some bad news to inform."
The girl nodded and stepped up to him as he sighed, "I'm sorry. But no one around Griffin Rock or the Mainland knows you."
All ears perked up when Chief Burns gave her the news as Chase asked, "So no one informed us about her?"
"No," Chief Burns shook his head.
"Then…" Cody slowly spoke. "Does that mean that she…?"
Chief Burns nodded, finishing what Cody was about to finish as Heatwave asked, "Wait. She's what?"
"An orphan." the girl answered sadly. "I don't remember any of my parents or have any either. …I have been like this ever since I was only one year old."
The bots glanced at each other after the girl explained everything as she grabbed her left arm.
"But, you could remember something!" Cody suggested as the girl perked. "We can still help you find your parents and learn about what happened to them!"
"Yeah," Boulder nodded. "And we can take care of you while searching for your parents! There's plenty of room for you in the firehouse."
"There is?" the girl asked.
"Of course," Chief Burns nodded. "Since there are no orphanages around here to take you in, you can stay around until we find some evidence about your parents."
The girl smiled and hugged Chief Burn's leg, thanking him, "Thank you!"
Chief Burns smiled and returned the hug to her as Blades asked, "Then… what should we name her?"
"Oh, right," the girl remembered. "I barely came up with a name since I lived by myself."
Cody thought after the girl mentioned, even politely declining some names Chase came up with, even some Cybertronian names as well.
"How about 'Stephanie?'" Cody suggested.
The girl glanced over at Cody and asked, "'Stephanie?'"
"Yes," Cody nodded. "You remind me of Great Aunt Stephanie. She had long jet-black hair and blue eyes like you."
The girl paused as she reached up and felt her hair, thinking about the resemblance between the two.
"Step-han-ie." The girl slowly repeated the name to herself. "Stephanie. I like that name!"
"Then Stephanie is your name," Chief Burns nodded. "And, welcome to the team."
Stephanie perked after Chief Burns mentioned to the group as she smiled, showing a little of her teeth, revealing that she had small fangs poking from the corners of her mouth.
"Awesome!" Stephanie remarked.
But, for Chief Burns, it was strange to see Stephanie with sharp canines… unless she could be a real-life vampire.
…But it could not be true because vampires do not exist.
But it looked like this childish mystery would be sticking with him for a long time while he was searching for clues.
