Love Never Goes Out of Style/CH 15
After a very heated make-out session in the elevator on the way back up to Betty's room, Daniel followed her to her door, teasing her about getting to her backside.
"Daniel...cut it out! Don't you have your own room?"
He grinned, "What's wrong, Betty? Are you really afraid I'm going to spank you? I'm not into that kind of stuff. You should know that by now."
"I don't know what you're ...into really, Daniel. We haven't been dating that long. And it's not like you would have told me about everything you did with your 'girlfriends' when we were just friends."
He scoffed at her, "Well, now, that's not really true…is it? We talked about a lot of stuff like that when we were "just friends", and you know it! And as far as the…spanking thing goes…seriously, you know I'd never do anything you didn't want me to do, right?"
"I know that."
"Hmm...well, that makes one of us, at least. It seems you were doing stuff with guys a lot that you never shared with me, though, huh, Betty?"
She rolled her eyes, and got out the key from her purse, then turned around, "Are we back on that again, Daniel? How many times do I have to apologize for the flashing thing?"
He nodded, kissing her neck, "It's okay, Betty. I'm over the whole Gio deal. I was actually more concerned with your new brother-in-law."
"Bobby? Daniel, that's silly! He's marrying my sister! He's crazy about Hilda. He's always been crazy about her since high school.
I kissed him one time. It didn't mean anything. I was just trying to be 'fearless', do something I never would normally do.
Remember, like you and your stupid 'phoenix water' saying told me to do? That's kind of what got me started wanting to hang out with Bobby in the first place, because he was a 'dangerous' guy and I was tired of only dating 'safe' guys.
You should have seen the guy Hilda and Archie were trying to match me up with! I mean, he was a nice guy, but he was SO boring! He sat there and talked about a squirrel eating his carrots for half the night!"
Daniel laughed, "What, and that's boring to you?"
She rolled her eyes, "Yes! Bobby was...sort of exciting. Different, that's all. I just wanted to say for once that I dated a 'bad boy'. Is that so hard to understand?
Besides, why are we even talking about me? After all the women you've been with, Daniel?
You're giving me a hard time about one drunken mistake and some harmless flirting? Really? I thought we worked all this out last night, anyway?"
He stood in the doorway, as she went inside. "Sorry, Betty. You're absolutely right. Last night, by the way...was incredible. You were incredible.
To be honest, I didn't bother to get a room of my own. I just assumed I could stay here. I guess that was kind of presumptuous of me. Is that okay? Can I come in, please?"
"Of course, Daniel. And for the record, I am really sorry about...everything. You were so sweet bringing Bobby and Tyler here so everybody could be together. That was very thoughtful of you."
He made a face, and pushed her against the inside of the door, with one hand up on the frame, "I didn't do it to be 'sweet', Betty.
I did it so we could be together. I knew if Amanda and Hilda were busy with their own boyfriends, I would have you all to myself.
That's the real reason I did it. So we could have sex without being interrupted."
"Daniel...that's...uh, okay, I'm sorry. I don't understand. Why would you even say that? That's not really like you."
"Isn't it?"
"Well, maybe the wanting to have sex part, but...even if it's really the only reason why, I'm sort of surprised that you told me that."
He kissed her intensely, and whispered roughly, "I thought you said you liked bad boys, Betty. I don't know why you think I'm so sweet. I'm anything but. Speaking of butts..."
He smirked slightly, trying to grab her and chasing her, "Daniel, no! Don't even think about it! You are NOT spanking me! Just get that out of your head, okay?"
He laughed, panting, and nodded, flopping on the bed, "Whatever, Betty. Man, I must be out of shape, if you can outrun me with your short little legs."
"HEY! Excuse me for not being a six foot supermodel with incredibly long legs!"
He grinned, pulling her down on top of him, Come on, sweetie. You know I don't want any models; I want you. You and your nice, big sexy butt and your huge boobs."
She rolled her eyes, "Thanks. Very funny."
"Betty, come on, I'm sorry, honey. You know I love your body. Don't be like this. I'm only teasing you , BECAUSE I do love your curves so much. You know that, don't you? I mean, hey...isn't it kind of obvious how much you turn me on?"
She giggled, looking down at him, "I guess so."
"Betty? I'm sorry, what did I say? I didn't mean to make you feel bad. I love you, honey. I do think you're better than any model, just like I said on our first bridge date years ago. What's wrong?"
She shrugged, tracing a circle on his chest. "Oh, nothing. I was so excited that night. I sort of had a crush on you then. You were being so sweet to me. It felt like a...wait did you just call it our 'bridge date'? So, you thought it was a date, too?"
"Well, yeah. Of course it was a date! What did you think it was? Hey, how come you never called me, you know, at five in the morning or whatever? Like you said you would?" He brushed a strand of hair from her face.
She looked at him, seeming shocked, "You mean, you would have come?"
He took her hand, and kissed it, "Of course I would have."
"Well, you never called me, either. If you thought it was a date, how come you never asked me out on another one?"
He looked at her with furrowed brows, "Well, for one thing, because you were so obviously in love with Henry. Sorry, Egg Salad. I think I like that name for him.
You know, you talk about me serial dating, Betty. Maybe I did, but there's a difference between that and going from one serious relationship to the next. I was really more 'available' than you were over the years.
You were almost always with somebody else. It's not like I had a lot of time to think about...asking you out."
"You thought about asking me out?"
He shrugged, "Well, yeah. Of course I did. Lots of times. Especially once we got so close after Molly died and you were coming over all the time
I really wanted to ask you out then. I actually thought about it a lot. But, you were all in love with Matt Hartley back then.
Hell, you told me you even thought you were pregnant that one time. So, I figured things were pretty serious with the guy.
But then, when you started saying he annoyed you, wanting to be with you all the time, I thought...maybe. You were hinting around or something.
Because I noticed that you and I were together way more than you and Matt and yet you never seemed to complain about being with me too much."
"Well, that's true. But we weren't on top of each other, day and night..."
He put up his hand making a face, "That's fine, Betty, I really don't need a visual of you and Hartley."
She grinned slightly..."sleeping together."
He shrugged, "Actually, we did a few times, remember? I mean, other than the time I slugged Matt at the UN for saying we were together."
"I'm sorry, we slept together? Uh, I don't think so, Daniel. I'm pretty sure I would remember if we had."
He laughed at her expression, "I meant...you know, slept. Not had sex, Betty. You came over a lot and kept me company and fell asleep."
"Oh, you mean when you were a total bed hog?"
"I am not!" he protested, spinning her under him and pinning her down, as she laughed.
"You are, too! I was freezing to death. You stole all the covers."
He leaned down slowly, holding his lips just above hers, "Well, next time I do that, wake me up, okay? I would never want you to be cold. I bet I could think of some way to warm you up."
"Yes, I bet you could." She couldn't take his teasing any more at this point.
Betty felt Daniel's hands start to roam over her body and she began to unbutton his shirt, but it was giving her a problem, so she smiled, remembering her little 'fantasy' about Bobby and deciding that she didn't want to be patient for one more second.
She pulled hard, ripping his shirt the rest of the way off him, so she had access to that amazing chest of his.
Daniel's eyes widened, but he seemed pleasantly surprised at her aggressiveness. He put his hands on her wrists, and said in his low, raspy voice, "Somebody's in a hurry to get to the good stuff, huh?"
She nodded, "Maybe."
"That's fine, Betty. But...remember sometimes slow and steady is good, too."
She nodded, barely able to talk. He had her so crazy with his lips and hands working her into a frenzy.
Just as she was about to properly thank him for his patience and return the favors, they were startled by a loud, insistent knock on the door.
"Betty? It's me, Christina. Are you okay? You sound like you're crying. Let me in, please. It's important. I tried to call, but it went to your voicemail."
Daniel made a face, rolling his eyes, "Are you kidding me? Now? Shit! Uh...just, give me a second, Betty. Before you let her in, okay?"
She whispered, "I'm SO sorry, Daniel. Are you okay? I promise, I'll get rid of her as quickly as I can. Do you want to uh, go into the bathroom or something?"
"What? Seriously? You expect me to just... finish by myself?"
She giggled slightly, "No! I didn't mean...that! I just meant to, you know, hide out while I talk to her. Sorry, but there's nowhere else private for you to go in your uh...condition."
He rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed and frustrated, "Hey, sorry but YOU got me in this condition, Betty!"
"Well, I'm sorry, Daniel, but I don't really know what I can do right this second to help you. You're just going to have to wait, I'm afraid."
"Fine! I guess I'll be in the bathroom. Thinking about...Marc, I guess. Or something else completely non-sexy!"
She tried not to laugh at Daniel's situation but it was really hard not to...hmm...make that really difficult not to be amused.
She straightened herself up and smoothed her hair down, then went to answer the door, "Hey, Christine! I thought you'd be halfway back to Edinburgh by now. What's going on?"
Her friend eyed her suspiciously, "What's going on? Why don't you tell me, Betty? Did you...just have someone in here with you? Or...you can tell me, were you missing Daniel and watching porn, perhaps?"
"Porn! No! Of course not! What would make you think that?"
"I don't know. Maybe because I heard some pretty interestin sounds coming from your room not five minutes ago as I got off the elevator."
"I was watching Dr. Who. It was probably aliens you heard."
"Oh. Listen, I'm sorry to just show up like this, but I need your help, Betty!"
