A captain, his science officer, a new first contact and a night to remember. [Rated T throughout. Season 1 ATP, slight P/C. 10 chapters total. Complete]

Book 2 of the "What Fates Impose series" Picard would never tell his only daughter about the Borg or what they did to him, no matter how she asked. After 18 years and 200 years in the past a similar fate has been sent by Xindi Reptilians to destroy the NX-01 and help them prevail. Can Archer see the threat and keep it from destroying the ship or a close crew member?

The only blessing – perhaps the only one they'd had so far on this mission – was that Malcolm wasn't moving. He was standing on the ice; but he wasn't getting any further away. Trip wasn't sure what that meant, but he assumed it meant that Malcolm was hypothermic – confused, likely; lost. Trip had no choice – he was going to have to go out on the lake.

AU. A century after a very different first contact, Trip and Archer find themselves in a Vulcan labor camp after a failed resistance mission. In plotting their escape, they will come into conflict with the new commandant, T'Pol. A T'Pol/Trip arc is likely as the story progresses, but there will be more to this tale that just that.

Despite his gung-ho reputation, Trip never liked to dive into anything unprepared. When the Enterprise crew is selected to be the goodwill ambassadors to a new species, he figures it'll be a great chance to practice bein' stoic before he and T'Pol travel to Vulcan to get hitched. In hindsight, maybe he should have learned more about the Nubulian people before he told Archer.

An AU version of the conversation T'Pol and Trip have in the Mess Hall at the beginning of Daedalus. I guess this is always the way I wanted it to go. I put it under humor though I have no clue if you'll find it funny so read at your own risk. ) One Shot contact if you want sequel.
