Not gonna lie, I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing, but uh… might as well try? I'm gonna add another camper and I'm gonna age the others up by like two years? Because like, let's be honest who thought it was a good idea to send a group of 12-15 year old kids to a damn dinosaur island that's run by a company that has a track record of shit going wrong?
Sigh Anyway, I'm gonna try to stick as close to the actual story as I can, with obvious differences being the number of campers and some scenes that have to do with that. Might do some pairings..? Kenji and Brooklynn is canon, so of coarse I'll add them. As for the others? I'll probably let you decide? Maybe, maybe not. We'll see. And I'm adding an OC who is gonna be a side character and not take over as the main, because I've seen that way too many times.
If anyone has some helpful ideas, let me know. Anyway, here we go.

Darius, like any other 14 year old boy, spent his free time playing video games. But not just any video game, no, this game was sponsored by InGen. And whoever was able to beat it first got to be the lucky winner of a trip to their new summer camp: Camp Cretaceous. And he almost had it. But obviously he didn't, evident by the big ass GAME OVER on his screen. And right as he was about to restart…
"ROAR!" Goes Darius's brother.
Darius lets out a yelp as he takes off his headset. "Not cool, Brandon!" He turns in his chair to face his brother.
"As if you know what cool is." Brandon retorts. Opting to sit on Darius's bed. "You still going at it? Even at this hour?"
"Well yeah..?" Darius trails off. "If I can just beat it then I could.."
"Get to go to Jurassic World. I know, D." Brandon interjects. "You've said like a hundred times already. It's just… when are you gonna take a break? You haven't left your room in days." He says.
"I just… you know how much this means to me, how much it meant to dad. I've got to beat this game Brand, you know I do." Darius says sadly as he looks up to his brother.
Brandon sighs. "Alright, D. But at least take a break and shower or something. You're starting to stink." He laughs as he ruffles Darius's hair.
"Haha, fine. I hear you." Darius says. "I'll chill out for a sec."
"Good." Brandon lightly smiles. "Just try to keep it down. I don't need mom getting on my ass again."
"Pfft, no promises. But I'll see about it." Darius says.
Brandon sighs again. "Good enough." He heads to the door and stops in the doorway. "You've got this, D. Now goodnight." He says as he finally closes the door to Darius's room.
Darius smiles as his brother leaves his room, then he swivels back towards his screen and looks at the guide on his desk. "I'm so close. If I can just get past the T-Rex.." Darius trails off. He sighs. "Maybe something will come to me tomorrow." Darius gets up, goes and takes a much needed shower, grabs a snack then promptly heads to bed.
"!" Darius wakes with a start. "Of course. How can I be so stupid?" He jumps out of bed and rushes over to his computer and boots up the game again. "This time, I've got this." And well...you know how the rest goes.

ONE WEEK LATER (or something like that, they never say)
"Welcome to Isla Nublar, campers." Said the man standing in front of them. "You are the chosen few, the first kids in the entire world to ever experience the awesomeness that is Camp Cretaceous." He stated. "I know, the trip from the mainland was rough on some." He says while pacing before them. "Hello, Ben." Everyone looks over to the left and sees a scrawny teen give a thumbs up… and then immediately went back to puking in the ocean. "But you made it!" The man says. "I'm Dave, head counselor. You heard that correctly, head honcho, big shot." He introduces himself as well as brags to the teens. And out of nowhere, the sound of a vehicle speeding towards their direction caught everyone's attention.
* tires screech * And a woman steps out of the vehicle, which is now identified as one of the islands work jeeps. "Ah, so sorry I'm late." She says as she makes her way down the steps of the dock and into the view of the campers, taking her spot next to Dave. "Welcome, campers. I'm Roxie, head counselor of Camp Cretaceous." The six campers on the dock look between Roxie and Dave with questioning looks on their faces.
Dave chuckles. "Well, it's sort of a co-head counselor sort of situation." He states.
Roxie looks over at Dave and asks "Is it?"
Dave just clears his throat and then tries to go on about why or how some of the campers earned their way here. Meanwhile with the campers, we see a girl with bubblegum pink hair tied in a bun recording everything on her phone. She turns around to record the two campers that are standing behind her, the girl of the two just blocks her face and scoots off behind the boy beside her. As for the male of the two, he looks down at the girl and gives a soft smile to her and goes back to focusing on what the counselors are saying. Turning back around and now focusing on the campers to her left, we see Darius, Ben, and another girl. All who smile at the camera, and return their focus back on Roxie and Dave.
"As our first campers, for the next two weeks we'll be doing kayaking, rock climbing, obstacle courses, tours, and of course…" Roxie says.
"Dinosaurs!?" Darius exclaims with a voice crack, interrupting Roxie. All the other campers look at Darius with their eyebrows raised.
"Yes… Darius." Roxie checked to get his name right. "Plenty of dinosaurs. So, ready for an adventure?" She asks.
"Absolutely! But I'm gonna need that speech a little shorter, and really try to lean into the majesty of this place." States the girl with the pink hair. Everyone gives her a look of questioning.
Dave nervously chuckles. "Okay, we're going now. Let's get the seven of you to camp." He says as he throws his arms in a forward motion.
"Uh, there are six of us." Says Ben while holding up six fingers.
"Wait." Dave goes as he scans the group before him. "Dino-kid, Track-Star, Internet Girl, Barfy, Texas, and the Oddly Silent Giant." He sighs. "He's right. Where's Seven?" Roxie checks her tablet and just lets out a scoff. Everyone packed into the jeep and after a short drive, the nine get out and soon hear the sounds of a Helicopter landing. They see a staff member open up the helicopter door for the passenger, and let out what everyone assumed to be a douche.
"Greetings, my dudes. Kenji is here, so let the party commence!" The now identified Kenji exclaims throwing his arms in the air. "Put this in my room." He says as he chunks his bag at Roxie. "So, what's your deal?" He gets out right before he's taken to the ground as Roxie threw his bag back at him.
"Okay, let's go." Roxie states as she walks back to the jeep. Everyone else just let out small laughs and chuckles at Kenji's expense. Soon everyone loads back into the jeep. With Roxie driving, Dave in shotgun, and the campers all sitting in bed of the truck. Roxie takes off and jolting the campers in the back. "You know, there's a reason they have seat belts back here." The tallest and oldest of the campers says to the others. The rest quickly put on the seat belts knowing they don't have to be told twice.
"I hope you got my mom's note." Ben says. "I don't do well on windy roads."
The girl with the smartphone is still recording her trip so far. "What's good, Brooklanders? It's your girl Brooklynn coming at you from the best place ever: Camp Cretaceous." The now known Brooklynn announces as she records herself. "Like and subscribe to join me as I unbox Jurassic World!" She lets out as she cuts the recording off.
"Okay, I need you all to say who you are and a little bit about yourself." "And action!" Brooklynn says as she starts her recording again.
"Oh! Um… I beat this awesome VR dinosaur game. I'm Darius, by the way-" Darius says before being cut off.
"I'm sorry. I just can't believe… you're Brooklynn! I'm Sammy Gutierrez, total Brooklander!" Sammy introduced herself while shaking Brooklynns hand enthusiastically. "Oh, also, my family supplies all the beef for the park, and that's how I got here."
"Great to meet you, Sammy." Brooklynn says back with a smile.
"Um… What's a Brooklander?" Darius questions.
"Oh, that's just what my online followers call themselves." States Brooklynn.
"Uh, all 27 million of us." Sammy interjects while doing finger guns.
"Yep. That's why she's the only one who gets to keep her cell phone. She's famous." Says the last girl of the group.
"Hold on. Rich and famous? Oh, meant to be." Kenji says as he takes Brooklynn's phone and takes a selfie with her.
In the meantime, Ben is throwing up over the side of the jeep. Out of nowhere, Roxie hits the brakes and slides the vehicle a bit before coming to a stop. Dave and Roxie check the road and get out.
"Um, Dave, what's going on?" Ben asks worriedly.
"Nothing you need to worry about." Dave replies as he test charges his stun prod. He and Roxie start to walk off. "But you should all definitely stay in your seats."
Ben starts to freak out. "Oh, God." He whimpers and pants in an attempt to calm himself. Darius, Kenji, Sammy, Brooklynn, and the last girl all stand up to see where Roxie and Dave are walking off to. Suddenly Darius hears some rustling from behind him, turning around to see what it is, he tries to get the other campers attention. "Guys..?" He whispers. More rustling happens. "Guys?" He calls again. Out of nowhere a small dinosaur leaps from the bushes and onto the shoulder of the biggest of the campers, letting out it's tiny shriek. In response, Darius and the other five campers jump back or out of the bed and let out their respective screams of fright. All except the biggest camper who just calmly turns his head and looks at the dino on his shoulder.
"Hello, little one. Are you lost?" He quietly asks it with a soft smile as he reaches up to grab it.
The dinosaur seeing nothing to eat or chase, makes an attempt to jump off and run. But the camper caught the little thing and handed it over to Roxie who had a blanket ready to cover it up. It let out its little shrieks of protest as she hurriedly put it in its cage.
"Crisis averted. Oh, these things are always getting out of their enclosure." Roxie says as she puts the cage in the back of the jeep.
"And thank you, um…" Roxie starts as she reaches for her tablet to see the name of the camper that helped her.
"You can just call me Cass, ma'am." He says to her as he helps the other campers back into their spots.
"Well then. Thank you, Cass." Roxie says.
Darius gasps. "A real live Compsognathus!" He states with excitement.
"Oh, please. It took a blanket and a cat carrier to catch it. Boring." Kenji says in his usual tone of high horse.
"Scared you pretty good." Darius shoots back.
In return, the girls as well as Cass let out little laughs at Kenji. Brooklynn snaps a picture of Kenji's expression. Seeing this, he turns towards Darius and looks at him with a slight hint of irritation. Darius turns around in response and looks at the Compy through the back windshield of the jeep. With the incident over with, Roxie starts up the vehicle and takes off once more. The campers are taking in the scenery now that they're going at slower pace than before. Soon enough, they are heading right for the giant gate that'll lead them to Jurassic World. The campers, at least those that are more vocal, start letting out whoas' and wows'.
"Welcome to Camp Cretaceous." Dave says to those in the back.
The gate opens to let them through, and in doing so made some of the campers cheer in excitement as they let out small laughs.

TWENTY MINUTES LATER
Roxie finally brings the vehicle to a stop, and cuts off the engine. She, Dave, and all the campers got out of the jeep, and looked up at the giant tree house that they'd call home for the next two weeks.
"Hey, Brooklanders, check this place out! Is this not the most amazing place you've ever seen?" Brooklynn ask her fans.
"If you think this is cool, you should see my dad's penthouse in the main park." Kenji says as he walks past Brooklynn during her recording.
She makes a deadpan expression towards the camera and brightens up again. "Yasmina! Hey, girl." She says as she walks over to the girl known as Yasmina, and starts recording her. "So, as an elite athlete, how pumped are you for camp?" She asks hoping to get an answer.
Yasmina had other plans though. She covered her face and moved away from the camera. "Not a huge fan of being on camera." She says as she walks away, then turns around and adds. "Or people." Then she jogs off towards the stairs of the building.
"This place is almost as big as my family's ranch back home." Sammy says out loud.
"That's because when we're up and running, the camp will house 500 kids and 150 staff." Roxie tells her as she and Dave get the luggage up the stairs.
"Listen Up!" Dave lets out as he calls the campers over. "Announcement time from your co-head counselors."
"Psst, still not a thing." Roxie says as she starts explaining things to them. "Okay, everyone, there's some ground rules to cover. Curfew's at 8:00 p.m., and lights out at 9:00 p.m. sharp." Complaints from the campers could be heard, except from Ben and Cass. Ben gave a little fist pump and Cass just doesn't mind. "This is for your safety. We are in a dinosaur-filled jungle. You must always keep your distance, or you could be seriously hurt, if not worse." Roxie states to them.
"Define worse." Ben says with a hint of sarcasm.
Brooklynn speaks up. "Wait, but didn't Cass straight up pick up the Compy or whatever it's called?" Everyone looks towards him.
"That's slightly different." Cass responds as he goes up the stairs to grab his suitcase.
"Really? How so?" She responds looking for his answer.
"Well, seeing as how I was the only calm one, as well as the one it was perched on. It only made sense that I touched it, and I gave it immediately to Roxie so she could cage it." He says lightly to her. "I didn't do it for fun. I did it because it had to be done."
"Exactly." Roxie says to them.
"Cabins are up that-a-way." Dave says as he points above his head.
"First one there gets top bunk!" Yasmina shouts as she and the other campers rush towards the elevator. All except Darius. He stays behind and goes over to Roxie who is loading the Compy into a different jeep so it can be taken back to its pen.
"Oh, man, I really wanted to get a closer look at that Compy." He says dejectedly.
"I like your enthusiasm, Darius, but right now it's claiming a bunk time. So, you know… go claim a bunk." Dave says.
"But it's the first dinosaur I've seen in person and, I mean, we're here to see dinosaurs…" Darius explains to him. Then he starts feeling a rumbling in the ground and sees the puddle before him start to ripple.
"Oh, the day is not over, buddy." Dave tells him.

TWO HOURS LATER
The seven campers are standing on a watchtower looking out into the herd of dinosaurs that are moving in front of them. Catching the evening light as the beast move along. You can hear some oos and awes from the others.
Darius laughs. "There's Brachiosaurus. Parasaurolophus. Stegosaurus. Ankylosaurus!" He says to everyone as he gushes over them.
"Wow, you really do know your stuff, dino-nerd." Brooklynn jokes with him.
Seeing this, Kenji tries to impress Brooklynn. "Check out the… Brontosaurus."
Darius just shakes his head. "They don't have those here. Common mistake." He lets out a gasp. "Are those Sinoceratops? When did you get those?"
Dave comes up and says. "They are cooking up all kinds of new dinos in that lab."
"Whoa! Where are they herding 'em to?" Sammy asks.
"They're herding hem back to their nighttime enclosures." Roxie answers.
"Enough banter. It's zip-line party time!" Dave exclaims to them.
Dave hooks Ben into the harness and gets ready to send him off. "Me?" He asks. "Maybe Yasmina should go first, or Cass, or… Darius? Uh… Or anyone! I really don't-" and he cuts himself off by screaming all the way down. Everyone else just buckled themselves in as they laughed and cheered on their way across, sailing above the dinosaurs below them. All of them watching the dinosaurs walk by and just enjoying the scenery.

FOUR HOURS LATER
It's now past curfew and the campers are all in bed asleep. Well… almost all of them. Darius was wide awake looking outside the window next to his bunk. What he saw out into the distance was the lights of a dinosaur paddock. He of course thought it'd be a good idea to sneak out, and that's exactly what he did. Sneaking out of the bedroom and through the main hall of the tree house, he almost made it before…
* click * The lights come on showing Kenji to be the one to who caught Darius. "Oh, hey there, dino-nerd. Whatcha doing?" He asked him with a smirk of knowing on his face.
"Huh? Uh, nothing!" Darius lied. "I was just, uh, heading out 'cause… thirsty." And god was he shit at it.
Kenji raises an eyebrow and points over to his left, where the water cooler was. On the other side of the room.
"Oh, yeah. I… I meant, um… hungry." He tried to lie again.
Kenji just walks to the cabinet of snacks and pats it.
"Oh, heh, look at that. Thanks, Kenji." Darius says as he makes an attempt to open the cabinet door, but Kenji just closes it on him.
"Look, bro." Kenji starts while leading Darius away from the shelve, with his arm around his shoulder. "I don't want you to be intimidated by me just because I'm rich, my father owns a few condos on the island, and I'm rich." He says to him.
"Uh, I'm not intimidated by you." Darius says looking up at him.
Kenji responds. "Oh, good. I just want us to be friends, and friends tell each other stuff." He smiles while he looks down at Darius. "For instance, what they're doing out of bed after curfew. What do you think?"
"I think you best get your arm off me… friend." Darius retorts.
"Oh. Why don't you make me, friend?" Kenji challenges.
* camera shutter click * "Huh. So that's what toxic masculinity looks like." Brooklynn says as she looks at the picture she just took.
"Uh, sorry we woke you. I-" Darius started, but once again got interrupted.
"He was sneaking out, but I set him straight." Kenji interjects. "Look, I try to look out for the younger kids. It's who I am." He says as he walks over to Brooklynn and stands to her left.
"You guys don't understand." Darius says. "I've been waiting my whole life to get here, and I'm gonna make the most of it." He states. "Those lights must be coming from the Compy enclosure. I gotta check it out!"
"Sneaking out to see dinosaurs in the dead of night, mad danger of getting caught, great mood lighting…" Brooklynn lets out a sigh. "I guess that means… we're going rogue."

THIRTY-ISH MINUTES LATER
It's past midnight and right outside the enclosure we find Darius, Kenji, and Brooklynn are all crouched behind one of the park jeeps.
"I think this is it. The truck definitely headed in this direction." Darius says in a whisper.
Kenji, not getting the hint, spoke in a not whisper. "Of course this is it. Why else would they have-"
Brooklynn slapped her hand over Kenji's mouth right as the vehicle they were crouched next to started up. The driver of said vehicle scooted over to passenger side door and looked around, but found nothing. In the time that the driver took to search, the teens made their way to the stairs that lead up onto the enclosures walls. The three teens walked among the railing, looking down into the pen. Though if they payed a bit more attention, they would have seen the sign that said "WARNING! EXTREME DANGER". But, you know, kids will be kids.
"Hey, Brooklynn." Kenji called. "You can get a good shot from over here." "Allow me." He says as he grabs onto her phone and she makes an attempt to take it back.
"No, thanks. I can-" She argues.
"Just—" Kenji grunts as he puts a bit more effort into taking the phone.
"-Hey!" Brooklynn exclaims as she tries to keep her phone from him.
The two start to have a tug-of-war with the phone being the rope, and well… that doesn't end well. In the meantime, Darius is busy looking into the greenery that is inside the paddock. Though hearing the two struggle brought his attention to them.
"Give me my- Ugh! Come on!" Brooklynn says just before she lets out a gasp of shock as her phone flies over Kenji's shoulder and down into the enclosure below. "Thanks, Kenji. Real smooth." She crosses her arms and glares at the boy. "Dumbass..." She mumbles under her breath.
"Relax, I'll get it." Was of course, Kenji's answer right before he hopped the railing.
"-Wait! What are you-" Darius starts and obviously doesn't get to finish.
"-I got it, kid." Kenji says to him as he makes his way down into the enclosure. Ever so slowly he shimmies over and down the cage like walls. Then he takes a drop and lands right next to the phone. "See? Ha! Good as new." He says as he shows her the phone.
"Great. Now, just climb back up and gently hand it to me." Replies Brooklynn.
"Sure, sure, right after I get a sweet dino-pic for your followers." Kenji responds in his Kenji way. "No need to thank me."
As he attempts to take a photo, Darius is looking out over the top into the cage. And he sees… bones. He sees a pile of bones. Letting out a gasp as rustling starts to happen in the foliage, he says to the others. "Um, guys… this isn't the Compy pen."
"Quiet, junior! The grown-ups are talking. Ah, your followers are gonna love this." Kenji says as he sticks his hand and the phone into the cage. "Here, Compy-Compy-Compy." He calls out to it.
"This isn't the Compy pen!" Darius yells at him.
"-Uh, what's he babbling on about?" Kenji asks as he turns away from the cage. Which he then hears growling from, in response he turns towards the noise and in front of him. "What the…?" He asks himself, because what's in front of him is a Velociraptor. And it's currently stalking its way up to him, and in his fear, he waited snapped a pick of it. Therefor setting it off, causing it to let out its screech while launching itself at him, only to slam into the bars of its cage. Kenji jumps back and lets out a scream of terror as the beast snaps and roars at him.
"Come on!" Brooklynn says to Darius as they rush towards Kenji's direction.
The Velociraptor lets out a few calls as Kenji makes a break for it, chasing him from its side of the cage.
Kenji starts pounding on to the concrete gate before him. "D'ah! Open the gate! Open the gate!" He repeats and whimpers.
Brooklynn seeing a panel of buttons presses one of them in an attempt to get Kenji out, and when she pressed it, it also set off the alarm for the enclosure.
"Oh, please! Let me out!" Kenji screams as he continues to bang on the concrete doors before him. "Oh, come on! D'ah!" A gate opened alright, just not the right one. Because Kenji turns around and sees the Velociraptor, this time, with no cage separating them. It snarls and hisses at him as it makes its way forward. Suddenly Darius starts stomping and pounding away at a metal pipe, hoping to break it, and he succeeds. Letting out a cloud of steam that blocks the Velociraptor's vision. Darius jumps down into the enclosure with Kenji.
"Dude! Please tell me you have a plan." Says Kenji.
"Let's move! The steam should keep him busy." Just as Darius gets through saying those words, he turns around and notices the steam has already started to clear up. That, and now that there are 4 Velociraptors, all hissing and growling at the two boys.
"Oh, shit.." Darius quietly lets out.
