Last chapter was a lot longer than I thought it'd be, but that's okay. I'd rather you all have long chapters to read instead of short ones. And if you haven't noticed yet, I'm essentially writing these back to back, that's why the chapters are usually three or so days apart from each other.

"Seriously, Dad, you got to see this!" Darius says as he practically drags his father into his room and brings him to his computer.
Darius's dad just chuckles. "Slow down, kiddo! One day, I might need to use this hand again." He says as he shakes it and puts it on his son's head.
"Someone just posted Dr. Grant's latest article to the Jurassic World forums, and apparently, it says there's all this new evidence of craniofacial biting in theropods!" Darius excitedly explains as he opens up the forum for his dad to see.
"Well, that would mean theropods didn't just fight to kill, they fought for dominance, for power, and-" Fredrick was saying as he looked over the documents.
"And even for fun!" Darius says as he cuts in. "Uh, it's… it's the next paragraph down."
"Darius, let your old man read." The old man in question said as he playfully pulled the chair that his son was sitting in backwards and spun him away from the computer. "I sacrificed a hand for this." He jokingly says.
Darius could only laugh as he spun in the chair. "I mean, can you imagine two T. rex battling each other?" He then proceeds to make roaring sounds in order to give an example. "I mean, I can't even wait to see one T. rex at Jurassic World." The boy says as he picks up a dinosaur encyclopedia.
"Oh, we'll be there soon enough, kiddo." Darius's father says as he looks back to his son. "Then we'll see all these big guys for real." He states as he moves away from the computer and scoops his son onto the bed. "Okay, I was gonna wait till later to give you this, but no time like the present for a present. Dun-dun!" Fredrick says as he pulls out a small gift box.
"Ain't no pun like a Dad pun." Darius says with faked laughter.
Darius's father tosses him the box. Darius catches it and opens the box, he lets out a gasp of awe at the sight of the present. "Wow! Matching raptor teeth?" He says as he picks them both up and they have their individual wires, showing that they were necklaces.
Darius's dad just smiled at his boy as he puts on his necklace. Then goes to put one on his son.
"This is so freaking cool!" Darius says as he allows his father to put his necklace on him. Fredrick holds up the tooth so they can both look at it. But his hand was visibly shaking… causing Darius to get worried.
"Uh, are you okay?" He asks his dad.
"I'm fine, just a little tired." His father said confidently, as to not worry his son. "Hey, come here." He asks as he pulls Darius into a hug. "We're going to Jurassic World and it's gonna be incredible, not just because of the dinosaurs, because it'll be the two of us there, together." Fredrick explains, then holds up his raptor tooth. "I promise."
Darius just lifts up his tooth and clinks it against his.

Darius is sitting down on one of the bunks as he looks at a picture of him and his dad in sadness, remembering that memory of him.
The sounds of a helicopter whirring above the tree house was enough to pull him out of thought.
Roxie was outside on the ground when the helicopter flew over. "And despite the park's owner Mr. Masrani just now arriving, we have something that we urgently need to discuss with you, Ms. Dearing." She says into her phone. "You see-"
"Don't forget about the raptor pen." Dave cuts in from in the truck.
"Shh!" Roxie hushes him. "I know, I know."
"Or the kids getting lost in the storm." Dave cuts in again.
"The point is-" Roxie tries to say.
"Or the life threatening stampede during the storm." Dave cuts in once again.
"Shush!" She yells at him and turns back to her phone. "The point is, Claire, uh, Ms. Dearing, uh, we know that Camp Cretaceous is very important to Mr. Masrani, and that you were thinking of having your nephews join us today, but we've had two serious incidents over the last 48 hours. Dave and I need more staff immediately or we need to send the kids home ASAP." Roxie said into the phone, but all she was met with was a voicemail.
"Ugh!" Both counselors groaned.
"New plan, we do this in person." Roxie says this as she walks to the jeep.
"Mm… I'm sorry, are you saying we leave the kids here alone? Our kids?" Dave asks as he follows her. "The kids who seem determined to get themselves trampled and/or eaten? Those are the kids of which you speak?"
Roxie contemplates it for a second. "We won't be gone long. If we leave now, we can be back in an hour or two, tops." Roxie said to him. "Plus, even if they do manage to get into trouble, Cass will make sure that they are all alive by the end of the day. So come on!"
Dave just scoffs as he begrudgingly walks to the truck. "I'll leave a note."
And with that, Roxie starts the engine and they're on their way to see Ms. Dearing.

BACK UP IN THE TREE HOUSE
Darius throws open the doors to the living room and shouts. "What up, Camp Cretaceous? Whoo-hoo!" He cheers as he practically jumps into the room.
"Not in a "whoo-hoo" mood this morning, Darius." Kenji says as he leans back in a swivel chair. "Not after yesterday. Trekking through a rainstorm will do that." He said louder.
"We only had to walk because you crashed our gyrosphere." Ben called him out in between slurps of his juice box from one of the couches.
Kenji just glared and growled at the kid in response, and that was enough to get him to back off.
"But today's a new day! Kayak Day! Who doesn't wanna paddle alongside dinosaurs, real dinosaurs? It's gonna be awesome, right?" Darius tried to hype up the activity but noticed something. "Wait, where are Dave and Roxie?" He questioned.
"The babysitters took off early and left this." Kenji says as he pushed the chair over to Darius and slapped a sticky note to his chest.
"BRB. Gotta go. Boss-talk. BB. Later. Smiley face." Darius read off the note. "Is that a dinosaur emoji with a thumbs up?" He questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"It's Dave speak. Roxie translated on the back." Kenji said while reclining even further.
"We have to go talk to our boss. Stay inside until we return. Draw, bond, whatever. The radio's set for channel six in case you need us. Stay inside, stay inside. Do not leave, Kenji, looking at you. Sorry for the kids' menus, it's all Dave has." Darius read Roxie's side of the note and sure enough, there were kids' menus and crayons on the table.
"Do they understand how old we are are? I mean, when was the last time you ever saw a crayon?" Kenji asked in offense of the situation.
Ben smiled as he showed a crude drawing of him and Bumpy playing… chess?
"Hmm. I have notes." Yasmina said as she looked at the drawing.
"Yasmina!" Sammy called the girl's name out as she playfully elbowed her in the side.
Ben just looked down at his drawing sadly in response.
* thud * The sound of a door slamming open catches everyone's attention. And in the doorway was none other than Brooklynn with her arms crossed, and she looked pissed.
"Brooklynn. What's new on the Internet, superstar?" Yasmina looked over and asked the girl.
"I wouldn't know because when I went to get my phone from its charger, it wasn't there! Someone stole my phone." She loudly accused into the room.
"Brooklynn, who hasn't had your phone?" Yaz shot back.
"I needed to check the weather last night…" Ben admitted.
"Dr. Sattler posted a new column on microfossils yesterday…" Darius admitted as well.
"The lighting this morning was too good to miss the selfie opp, but I haven't used it since then, I swear!" Kenji admitted to his use of the phone.
Brooklynn could only roll her eyes and scoff at his answer, but soon fixed her gaze on Sammy. "I… haven't seen it either." She said nervously while tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Really?" Brooklynn asked while still eyeing the girl.
"Hey, hey, it's okay! Since we're not kayaking till later, we'll have plenty of time to look for the phone." Darius said trying to defuse the situation.
"Oh, I think I know exactly where to look. I also think that whoever took the phone might be trying to hide some of the things that are on it. What do you think, Sammy?" Brooklynn asks accusingly as she walks over to the Texan.
"Um, what?" She asks innocently.
"What is your deal? Sammy said she didn't touch it!" Yasmina said as she wasn't having Brooklynn accuse her new friend. "Ever think you might have just lost the stupid thing?" She says as she stands up to the shorter female.
"Hmm. Well, then, let's check her bags and test that theory out." Brooklynn stated as she tried to walk to the girls room.
"You do not get to go through anyone's stuff, I don't care how famous you think you are!" Yasmina exclaimed as she stood in front of the girl.
Darius was watching the situation with worry, Kenji on the other hand looked interested in what was going on.
"Brooklynn, I did not-" Sammy tries to explain.
"Brooklynn, guys, come on-" Darius tried to stop it, but a voice cut through them all.
"What the actual fuck is with all the god damn yelling?" Cass said with a growl as he came down the stairs, wiping the sleep from his eyes. "Now, you're gonna explain this to me, quietly, and one at a time. Do you all understand?" He finished with a glare as he looked at his fellow campers.
They understood one thing, Cass was the equivalent to a grizzly bear when he doesn't get enough sleep. They found this out the hard way on the first night when he threatened to throw Kenji off the balcony because he was being too loud. So they all stayed quiet as they calmed down, even though Brooklynn and Yasmina wanted to continue shouting, it wasn't gonna end well if they did.
"Well?" Cass questioned with his arms crossed. "Gonna tell me what this was about?"
"I woke up and went to get my phone, but it wasn't on it's charger. Which means that someone stole it." Brooklynn explained to the oldest of the group as calmly as her angered self could.
"Then she busted off in here yelling that someone must have stole it. And she eventually targeted Sammy, and saying that she was the one who stole it." Yasmina said as she glared at the girl from the corner of her eye.
"And do you have any reason to accuse Sammy in particular?" Cass asked with a raised eyebrow.
Right as Brooklynn was about to talk, the entire group could hear a dinosaur roaring in the distance. It's not weird to hear dinosaurs on the island, just, not this close, nor making that kind of sound.
"What was that?" Brooklynn asked.
"Um, a T. rex?" Kenji guessed.
"Mm-mm. I don't think so." Darius said as the resident dino-nerd.
Yasmina set her art book on the edge of the couch as she ran to the balcony to check it out.
"Then what sort of dinosaur did it sound like? Friend-ish? Or foe-ish?" Ben asked as all the others also went out to the balcony to check out the sound.
"Where's it coming from?" Sammy asked.
"Can't see anything from here. The trees are blocking everything." Yasmina said to them.
"Maybe they're moving a new dino from the lab to another enclosure." Darius says a possible explanation before letting out a gasp. "We could probably see it from the observation tower! Could be cool." He says.
Sammy let out a gasp. "Wow, that's a great idea, Darius! What are we waiting for?" Sammy says as she grabs Darius's arm and practically drags him away, no longer wanting to be glared at by Brooklynn.
Cass just lets out a sigh as he pinches the bridge of his nose, this particular set of movement from him was gonna be normal with the kids around. "I might as well join you, make sure none of you die or some stupid shit." Cass said as he's still tired.
"Hey, we're not done talking about this yet!" Brooklyn called out to the others as they all went to the elevator, well all except Ben.
"But, guys, it's Indoor Arts and Crafts Day!" He calls out to them from the couch. "We should stay and wait for Dave and Roxie, right, Cass?" He asked the oldest of the group.
"As much as I agree with you, these dumbasses are liable to get themselves killed without supervision. So I have to go with them, which means you have to go with them." Cass explained to him. "So come on. The sooner we get this out of their system, the sooner you can go back to your arts and crafts, okay?" He said in a not-so-angry-fashion towards the easily scared boy.
"Why are you treating us like little kids? Or, hell, like dogs?" Asked Kenji.
Cass just looked back at him with a raised eyebrow and said. "Really? Do you really want me to answer that?"
"Please don't. I'd like to have some dignity left." Darius cuts in.
Ben just looked at the oldest teen and then at the others. "Fine, but to the observation tower and back, okay?" He agreed as he made his way to the elevator.
"Exactly. To the tower and back." Said Darius.
And just as they all went down the elevator, the walkie-talkie beeps, and a male voice is heard coming through.
"Asset out of containment. Repeat, asset out of containment. Stay indoors. ACU is responding."
And with that, the radio goes silent.

AT THE OBSERVATION TOWER
Darius, Kenji and Yasmina could all be seen trying to pull open the gated door on the fence surrounding the observation tower. And you guessed it, they weren't getting anywhere as they kept pushing and pulling.
"It's locked!" Kenji exclaims as he and the others finally let go of it.
"Oh, wow. Guess we can't get in." Ben feigns disappointment. "We should all go back before someone comes along and we get in trouble." He says as he tries to walk back with a nervous chuckle.
"Wait, where is everybody?" Kenji asked as he looks around. "Uh, there's usually someone around." The other campers also look around and find no one but themselves.
"So you noticed it too, huh?" Cass says as he's leaned against the fence. "I've haven't seen nor heard anyone besides us."
"If we're doing this…" Brooklynn starts as she fishes a bobby pin from her hair and picks the lock on the door. "then we might as well do this." * click * "Ta-da!" She proudly presents the now open door. The other campers just look at her in either appreciation of the open door, or in confusion on why she knows how to pick locks.
"What? You didn't see my "Unboxing Kathmandu" video, "Hacks For When You Lock Yourself Out Of Your Hotel Room"?" She says as she slides the bobby pin back into her hair.
Cass just smiles a little and walks past her and pats her shoulder. "Appreciate it."
Sammy turns towards the others and yells out to them. "Last one to the top is a rotten egg!" She then makes a run for the stairs as to not be last.
"Later, rotten egg." Yasmina says as she runs past Brooklynn.
Brooklynn and the others follow after Cass, Sammy and Yasmina to the top of the tower.
Sammy and the others finally make it up the stairs, panting like their lives depended on it.
"Is anybody else hot? It is hot." Sammy says as she slowly walks over to the railing in exhaustion. With Yasmina joining her and the others soon following.
"No more stairs!" Kenji complains while out of breath.
Cass just snorts at chuckles at the kids as he joins Sammy and Yasmina by the railing.
"Hey, don't laugh, man. And how are you not dead of heatstroke in all that black?" Kenji asked in between breaths.
"Hmm? Oh, yeah, conditioning, I guess?" Cass shrugs out an answer. "I'm pretty used to the extreme heat and the extreme cold. My body is basically a furnace, so I'm not too hot at the moment." He says as he looks back at the teen.
"Lucky." Yasmina says under her breath.
* rumbling * Suddenly, a loud boom was heard in the distance that caught everyone's attention. * rumbling * Even more booms were heard, this time, getting closer and more frequent. All the campers joined at the railing and started looking off into the jungle in order to see it.
"There's something out there." Brooklynn whispers the obvious.
"Something big." Darius whispers back.
Ben lets out a gasp as he and the others can see something moving behind the tree line.
"It's just a brachiosaurus." Yasmina quietly says to the group as they let out sighs of relief. And sure enough, it was a brachiosaurus, it bellowed out a call and reached up to eat some leaves on a tree.
"Ooh! Mystery solved. Guess we should head back now." Ben says as he starts to walk off to the stairs.
"But that doesn't make any sense. Brachiosaurus don't roar like that. They're more like… * imitates bellowing *" Darius says.
"Didn't quite catch that. Uh, one more time?" Kenji joked with the boy.
"No, Darius is right. That didn't sound like a brachiosaurus, hell, it didn't sound like any dinosaur that I know of." Cass said as he looked off into the jungle. "Something isn't right…" He clinched his hands on the railing. 'Something bad is about to happen… but what?' He thought to himself. Living on the streets for long enough will give you the sixth sense of when something was about to happen, and what ever it was, it wasn't good.
Just as Darius was about to respond, the campers heard shouting from on the ground.
"Hey! What are you kids doin' outside? There's an asset out of containment!" The first man yelled, but the campers couldn't really hear him from the distance between them.
"What are they saying?" Darius asked the group in hopes that someone heard them.
"You can't be up there!" The second man yelled.
"Oh, great! They look mad. I told you we'd get in trouble." Ben told the group.
"Can you hear us? You need to get down now! Hurry!" The first man yelled again.
"You're gonna have to speak up!" Kenji joked.
Suddenly, Cass felt a pit of despair open up in his abdomen. He didn't like this feeling, not one bit.
"I've got this." Kenji joked again and was about to say something, but the teens heard a roar and saw the brachiosaurus bellow out in pain before falling to the ground. The campers all screamed in fright as they backed away from the railing.
Except Cass, who just clenched his teeth as to not let out a noise, but he did let go of the railing and took a few steps back.
The two park workers heard the noise and looked around for a bit. "Why aren't ya movin'?" The first man called out as he pointed at them. "You dumb kids, get down here right-" He was cut off by the appearance of a large white dinosaur stalking up behind him and letting out a roar. He screamed as he tried to run away, but in his panic, it caused him to stumble, which ultimately ended with him being split in two by the giant beast's maw. Blood fell from it's mouth as went to eat the second half of the man that was now lying in a pool of his own blood.
The younger campers recoiled and they all let out screams at the sight of another human being devoured, Cass just had one thing going on in his head as he looked at what was happening. 'Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, FUCK!'
The albino titan of a carnivore let out it's terrifying roar. One that was never heard of before, and should've never been heard in the first place.
"What is that?" Yasmina asks in horror as she stared at the scene.
"It got him! It got him!" Ben screamed while quite literally pointing out what was in front of them.
Brooklynn let out a gasp. "Dr. Wu's lab. There was a dinosaur. In-" She tried to explain but was cut off by Sammy's horrified whisper of realization.
"Indominus Rex." Sammy quietly says.
"How do you know that name?" Asked Brooklynn as Sammy looks away nervously.
"But there's no dinosaur named-" Darius tried to tell them but was cut off by Sammy.
"There's no time. We need to leave. Now, now, now! We have to go." The girl urgently warned them.
"Up here is safe, down there isn't." Kenji said in a whisper as he stared at the beast in complete fear. "Besides, this high up, it's not like Whatever-Rex there can even see us." He tries to reason as he hides behind Darius.
He was proven wrong almost immediately as the dino got done eating the second man, having blood splattered over it's lips, and looked exactly where the campers were. Letting out it's growls and snarls as it locked eyes with it's prey. Once again, the campers let out screams of fright.
"It sees us!" Ben yells out as the Indominus rushes towards them. It stomped it's way to the surrounding fence and smashes through it, grabbing onto the beams that are holding up the tower, and attempting to climb it. But obviously, the steel beams weren't meant to hold such a large and heavy creature, so they started to warp and bend which made the tower shake and lean a little.
Darius falls on his ass after losing his balance do to all the shaking, soon followed by Brooklynn. Yasmina stumbles but manages to catch herself on the railing next to the stairs, and Ben almost falls through the gap in the railing but manages to catch himself and get away. The Indominus pulls down on the beams some more, causing one to bend forward, which in turn causes the tower to jerk forward.
"Whoa!" Sammy screams out as she hits the railing and falls forward. Luckily, Yasmina was right beside her and managed to grab her arm and save the girl.
"Sammy!" Yaz calls out as she tries to hold onto her with one arm. Sammy could only scream in fright as she's hanging above such a viscous creature. Said viscous creature notices Sammy hanging there and lets out a roar as it waits for the girl to fall.
"I've got you!" Cass calls out as he reaches down and grabs onto Sammy's other arm. With his and Yasmina's combined strength, they were able to pull the girl up. The Indominus didn't like that, so the beast slammed into the tower again which made the two almost lose their grip, but they readjusted and pulled the girl to safety.
"The zip line. Go, go go!" Darius called out to the group as he figured that'd be the best option of escape.
With the first harness ready, Brooklynn practically shoves Ben into the thing for the first one down. The Indominus once again slams its head into the side of the tower, trying to bring it down. But because of the possibility of death being right there, Ben started panicking and wasn't able to buckle the seat belt.
"I can't! I can't! I can't!" Ben panickingly said as he kept missing the buckle with his shaky hands.
"Here!" Kenji groans out as he buckles it for him and launches the teen down the line, as he didn't want to be on the tower much longer. And in typical Ben behavior, he screamed the whole ride.
The Indominus was destroying the tower even more, almost blowing out one of the four main beams.
Next it was Sammy, then Kenji, then Brooklynn, then Darius, Yasmina, and finally Cass… well… Cass didn't get in yet. Because he was the one to send everyone off to make sure they were safe. But suddenly, one by one the emergency brakes came on, stopping the campers roughly 50 feet away from the tower.
"Why aren't we moving? Ben, what did you do?" Kenji shouts accusingly at the scared boy.
"Nothing! It just stopped!" He yelled back as he wiggled around in his seat.
"Of course." Darius mumbled to himself as he saw the red indicators instead of the green ones. "Cass! It's the emergency brake! You're gonna have to come in hot in order to break it!" He yelled at the last person on the tower.
The Indominus completely removed one of the beams of the tower, making it jolt and shake.
"Fuck! Okay! You guys better brace yourselves!" Cass yelled to them as he backed up to get a running start. After making enough distance, he sprinted at the zip line seat and jumped into it with as much force as he could, holding on for dear life.
And just like that, Cass sped towards the other campers. And with his weight and the speed that he was going, he managed to break the emergency brake and get everyone moving again, this time at a much faster pace.
"It's working. It's working!" Darius calls out as he and the others are within 100 feet of the second tower. But just like that, all hope is swept away, because the Indominus Rex finally tore enough of the tower off in order for it to collapse under its own weight. The action of the tower falling caused a giant whiplash in the cable that broke all the locks on the zip lines, causing the campers to fall into the canopy of trees below them, and ultimately hit the ground.
And all went dark as seven bodies finally made their way back to the earth below.

* heart monitor beeping *
Darius walks into the room and sees his dad laying in a hospital bed. "Hey, Dad." Darius chuckles as he leans on the foot of the bed trying to keep it together. "You won't believe it, but there are all these rumors online that Jurassic World will announce a new dinosaur by the end of the year!" He says as he tries to liven up the mood for his fellow dino-nerd.
"Oh, really?" Fredrick chuckles out as he looks at his son.
"What do you think it'll be?" Darius asks. "Maybe they'll finally make an anchiornis."
"Or maybe a carnotaurus. Heh!" Darius's father weakly lets out as he closes his eyes.
"Dad, they've already got that. And whatever you do, do not ask me if I'm "carno-sure-us". Darius jokingly says.
Fredrick could only chuckle. "Of course. You're right. You really do know it all." He said as he placed his hand on his son's cheek. Darius just placed his over it.
"Not everything." Darius says as he looks away but returns his gaze to his father. "That's why this Jurassic World trip is gonna be awesome. And we're going in May when they're doing all the hatchery tours!" Darius says with enthusiasm.
"Darius—" Fredrick tries to get out.
"I've got the whole thing planned out. Where the lines are short so you won't get too tired, where there are benches for you to take breaks-" Darius tried to explain but was cut off.
"D-Man, about the trip…" His father started.
"Dad. Don't say it. You're gonna get better. You have to get better." Darius squeezes his hands on the bed. "I- I need you to get better." He says.
Fredrick places his hand on top of his son's. "I'm tryin', son. There's a lot of things we were supposed to do together. So many things."
"That we can still do." Darius tried to argue.
"Listen to me. This life, it doesn't always go your way. Things fall apart." Fredrick explains as Darius closes his eyes. "But what matters is how you choose to keep moving forward. What matters is that you keep goin' for the people that need you most. That's… that's the promise we make every day we get." He says weakly as Darius wipes his own tears and hugs his dad. "That despite all the hardships… you never give up."
Darius finally lets go of his father and grabs his hand. "Then you aren't either. We're doing this together." He places his fathers raptor tooth necklace into his palm. "No more "dad speeches", okay?"
"Heh. Fair enough." His dad says with a sigh as he clutches the necklace to his chest. "I should know better than to argue with you.'
"You'll see, Dad. We're gonna make it to Jurassic World and it's gonna be perfect." Darius says as he lays his head on his fathers chest. "It has to be."

Darius slowly starts to open his eyes as he sits up and groans in pain, before letting out a gasp as he looks for his fellow campers. Brooklynn is walking over to the group while holding her head, Kenji is climbing out of a tree that he landed in, Ben is on his back groaning in pain, Sammy is sitting on the ground, Yasmina is checking on Sammy, and Cass is looking around the jungle, darting his eyes about to make sure nothing sneaks up on them.
Yet just as Darius was about to say something, they all hear the Indominus Rex let out its terrifying roar.
"Where the heck is that thing?" Kenji asks from half way down the tree.
Darius looks around with wide eyes as everything goes quiet, trying to locate any noise that it might give off.
Ben scoots back into the tree that Kenji just climbed out of. "It's coming."
"Shh! It could be anywhere." Yasmina hushes Ben as she helps Darius up.
"The observation tower was that way? Or was it that way? I…" Brooklynn just sighs as she doesn't know what direction things are at the moment because of the fall.
"Okay, I'm sorry, but I-" Sammy cut herself off with a gasp as she pulled out Brooklynn's phone from her pocket, just to find it destroyed. She quickly put it back in her pocket and looked away so the girl wouldn't know.
Darius let out a gasp. "Where's- No, no. My necklace, I left it in my bunk!" He says after feeling around for it.
The Indominus let out another of its roars as it stalked the jungle, causing the teens to jump.
"We've got slightly bigger problems than-" Kenji attempted to say but was cut off by another roar.
"We have to run, now!" Cass called out as the other campers followed him as they ran through the jungle.
"Everything will be fine when we get back to camp." Darius said to the group as they attempted to make their way there.
And after a few more minutes of running, they broke through the tall grass and came back to camp. Well… whatever was left of camp. The campers looked in shock at the destruction that was caused here. They walked over to the destroyed wreckage of the tree house.
Darius gasps as he wasn't paying attention and stepped into a hole, then he notices. This isn't just a hole. This is the Indominus's footprint that made the hole. He looked off into the direction of the road leading away from camp and saw more footprints.
Brooklynn and Kenji looked at each other in worry as they walked over to the wreckage.
"Dave, Roxie, the other workers, they must've all gotten away." Sammy says hopefully.
Ben walked over to a nearby flipped jeep and took a peak inside. "Not all of them." He says with a gasp as he sees the blood inside and outside the vehicle. He tries to turn and walk away, but he trips and falls to his knees. Sammy runs over and checks on him.
Yasmina moved some wood planks around and found the walkie-talkie from the tree house. She clicked the power button. "Hello? Hello! Can anybody-" She tried to call into the machine but felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned around and looked up to see Cass just shaking his head at her.
"There's no use." Cass says gently. "We're on our own." He tells the group in a quiet tone. Yaz could only drop the walkie-talkie and grab onto Cass's sleeve for a small amount of comfort. Everyone could only look at each other with hopelessness in their eyes, except Brooklynn, as she just shook her head and yelled at Sammy.
"Give me my phone!" She said.
"What?" Was Sammy's only response.
"I don't care about you sneaking into Dr. Wu's lab, I don't care about whatever you did with the skin samples you took from the sinoceratops-" Brooklynn shouted at Sammy.
"What skin samples?" Yasmina asks.
"What were you doing in Dr. Wu's lab?" Kenji asks.
"-I don't even care that you stole it now. All I wanna do is call for help! Where is it?" Brooklynn yells out.
"Uh, I…" Sammy reaches down and pats the pocket with the broken phone, letting out a whimper. "I…" "I don't know what you're talkin' about! Skin samples? Sneaking into labs? You made up some crazy thing in your own damn head!" Sammy lies as she walks over to Yasmina, knowing she'd stand up for her.
"Hey, back off. Not everything revolves around you and your fucking phone!" Yasmina yells at Brooklynn. "It isn't Sammy's fault you lost it!"
"Would you guys please keep it down?! There's a big-" Ben tried to interject but was cut off by Kenji.
"A big, scary dinosaur? Of course there's a big, scary dinosaur! There's always a big, scary dinosaur!" Kenji snaps at Ben.
"And you're always a big-mouthed asshole!" Ben shoots back.
"Give it back!" Brooklynn shouts.
"Back off!" Yasmina shouts back.
"Yeah? Well, at least I don't play with crayons!" Kenji shouted at Ben like it was an insult.
"What is your problem with me? I'm trying to get us, all of us out of this mess!" Brooklynn yells out.
"My necklace. No." Darius says to himself as he looks up at the tattered and creaking remains of the tree house above.
"I didn't lie to you about it!" Sammy yells out.
"Just stop!" Brooklynn once more shouts.
"Money's not gonna help any of us! No one is getting out of here! We just saw people get eaten! We're alone, we're defenseless." Ben finally breaks and sits down with his knees drawn to his chest. "We're dead."
Yasmina, Brooklynn, and Kenji let out scoffs as they walk away, and Sammy still stands near Ben.
"We're not giving up!" Darius suddenly shouts at the group. "I get it. It's scary. This wasn't how it was supposed to be. Things aren't always gonna go your way. Life is messy and sometimes… things fall apart. But that's okay because when that happens, we pick the pieces up and keep going. And we never give up." Darius finishes giving his inspirational speech to his fellow campers.
"What about your necklace?" Brooklynn asks as she and the others are gathered around him.
"It's not important. I've got the memories right here." He says as he places a hand on his chest.
"What are we supposed to do?" Yasmina asks the boy.
"Get south to the park. Get help. And the only way we'll make it is if we do it together. We're a team or we're nothing at all." Darius says.
"Or, you know, we don't go back into the jungle." Ben tries to reason.
"You can wait for the negligent babysitters, but I'm with Darius." Kenji says as he wraps an arm around said boys shoulder.
"Wait, really?" Darius asked the older boy.
"Dude, there's no way I survived a dinosaur attack…" Kenji was saying but stopped as a piece of wood landed almost exactly where he was. "…just to be taken out by cheap camp debris. Kenji ain't going out like that." He turns and walks Darius with him. "We're going south. The rest of you coming or what?"
"I'm in." Brooklynn agreed as she followed them.
"We're in, too." Yasmina said as she put her arm around Sammy's shoulders. "What about you, Cass?"
"Hmm? Oh." Cass said as he woke up and got off the ground from the little power nap that no one knew he took. "I… fucking guess so? Someone has to return you to your families." He said as he followed after Yaz.
"Um, but guys?" Ben still tried to argue but let out a sigh as he noticed that everyone else was walking away. "It's just one dinosaur. It's just one dinosaur." He mumbled to himself as he followed after them.

Toro walks up to it's fence and looks at the creature on the other side. Which turned out to be none other than the Indominus Rex. Toro thought it'd be a good idea to roar at the much larger beast. The Indominus stood up and grabbed onto the top of the fence, and let out a mighty roar of it's own.
