Percy really did not like Luke Castellan. He thought that his distaste for the boy couldn't grow anymore, especially since finding out him and Annabeth were dating. But now, he stood in the hallway, watching from behind his locker as the scene unfolded.

Luke Castellan and his hyena-like friends barrelled into the hallway, pushing and shoving each other. He watched in slow motion as Luke collided with his friend, Leo, who had been emptying his locker into bag slightly up the hall from Percy.

'Watch it, jackass!' Leo huffed.

Luke seemed in a particularly asshole mood today, as he turned round and pushed Leo against the locked causing him to drop his books, and his small army circled around the boy.

'What did you say to me? Huh? Not so brave now are we Valdez?'

Before Percy could run over to help his friend, he heard new voice enter the conversation.

'Luke! Leave him alone!'

Annabeth appeared from around the corner shouldering her backpack, angry look plastered on her face.

Luke faltered slightly but his grip on Leo never loosened.

'Annabeth, leave, this has nothing to do with you.'

Annabeth's brows furrowed and she walked up to the boys, gently shoving his pack backwards.

'Honestly, what is wrong with you all? Huh? Get out of my sight.'

Luke friends hesitated slightly before turning and making their ways to class, leaving only Leo, Luke and Annabeth left.

Luke let go of Leo and looked at the ground dejectedly.

Leo composed himself and straightened his top, whilst Annabeth leant down and picked up his books for him, handing them back over. With a small thank you, Leo quickly departed from the hallway.

The hallway was silent, and Percy could hear both of their soft breathing echoing off of the walls.

'What' Luke spoke slowly, and Percy could hear the anger in his tone. 'The fuck, are you doing Annabeth? Huh?'

She bit her lip nervously and looked at the boy.

'Luke, you can't keep doing this.'

Luke's eyes narrowed and he took a step towards the girl, making her back into the locker. Percy's fist clenched.

'It's just a joke, Annabeth. Thanks for ruining my fun. Like usual.'

And with that, he turned round and stalked off down the hallway, leaving Annabeth with slightly scared look on her face.

Percy watched as she blinked back a couple tears, and sadly walked the other way down the hallway.

Percy closed his locker slowly, and stares where Annabeth had just disappeared.

She deserved so much better.

As soon as he got home from school he flopped onto the couch, glancing around for his mom or stepdad. His eyes drifted to the coffee table, where a little note lay. He leaned forward and picked it up, eyes skimming the contents.

'Percy,

Me and Paul have gone to the museum then for dinner. We'll be back around 10pm - love you!'

Percy smiled. He loved his mom, and he loved seeing her happy with Paul. He tapped on the couch arm and scanned the room.

DING!

Percy jumped out of his skin when his thoughts were interrupted by a loud chime. He hastily got his phone out of his pocket, relaxing into a grin when he saw who had text him.

'You wouldn't dare Jackson. You need me to be able to pass science!'

He chuckled to himself, and clicked on the message to reply. Before he could, another messaged came through.

'Do you want me to tutor you today? It's fine of you're busy'

He quickly typed out a response.

'Depends how good of a tutor you are Chase. And yh im free, you want to come over?'

He sent the message, heart pounding a little faster than before. She replied within a minute saying that was fine, and he sent over his address with the plans of her showing up in half an hour.

Shit. In half an hour, Annabeth Chase was coming to his house. He scanned the room for any incriminating items, eyes landing on the countless baby pictures of him that his mom had plastered over the walls. He let out a sigh of defeat, there was no way he could hide all of those in time.

The next twenty minutes consisted of him eagerly trying to tidy his house and changing into sweatpants. He was brushing his hair and spraying cologne when the doorbell rang.

'Shit shit shit.' He panicked, walking down the stairs. His hand reached for the door handle, and let out a big sigh.

'Its only Annabeth.' He reassured himself. 'You'll be fine.'

And with that, he pulled open the door to reveal Annabeth stood at the other side, shifting her books under her arm.

Her blonde hair was pulled into a messy bun and she had sweatpants and a baggy tshirt on. She had no makeup on, and looked absolutely gorgeous. What really made his heart stop, was the black framed glasses resting on her nose.

She smiled up at him.

'Um, hi.' She uttered.

'You look good in glasses.' The words spilt out of his mouth before he could stop them. He slap a hand to his mouth, in shock of what he just said, but his heart warmed as he saw Annabeth nervously move them onto her head.

'You think? I always thought you made me look dorky.'

He grinned down at her.

'You are a dork.'

Her eyes narrowed at him and she pointed at him threateningly with a pencil that was tucked behind her ears.

'You need to work on your hosting skills. Seriously, you're making me regret helping you. Now, let me in!'

She gently pushed past him causing him to laughed, wide grin taking over his face, and he closed the door behind them.
