Chapter 2

By the time Harry was fed and a clean diaper on, he quickly fell back asleep in Minerva's arms. Tilly quietly popped in the room, "Miss Kitty, the nursery's ready for mister Harry. I made sure that there were some stuffed toys for the young man."

"Thank you, Tilly, that will be all, I will see you in the morning, now go get some sleep, you've earned it." Minerva explained. By now, it's shortly after 2am, so Minerva goes to put Harry down in the nursery. Harry squirms a bit, but once Minerva gave him a stuffed stag, he curls up with it and slips off to dreamland. She then goes to her room, sets her alarm for 7am and gets ready to go to bed so she can see the Goblins and get Harry settled in properly.

However, Harry had other plans, at 5am Minerva is abruptly awoken to Harry screaming at the top of his little 15 month old lungs. Minerva leapt out of bed and rushes to the nursery, what she sees is both amazing and unnerving, the mobile that Tilly put above the crib is spinning around wildly, and the crib is a foot off the ground. Her favourite rocking chair is rocking back and forth rapidly, she quickly goes to the crib to pick up her young charge, and gently picked him up. Immediately after she picks him up, he starts to calm down, calling out, "mama, mamaaaaa, dada, daadaaaa!" "Shusshhh Harry, shush, Mama's got you, mama's got you." She keeps rocking Harry back and forth, soothing him with these words. "Tilly." "Yes miss Kitty" Tilly replies. "Can you make a bottle of formula for Harry." Minerva asks.

"Tilly will do so right away miss Kitty." With that, she pops away and returns shortly with the bottle. As Minerva feeds Harry, she decides to start her day, because there's no way she can fall back asleep, and she is used to running on a few hours of sleep due to her duties at Hogwarts. Being the transfiguration teacher, head of Gryffindor house, and deputy headmistress is a lot of work for one person, and has been pestering Albus for years about hiring more help in order to reduce her workload, but he always told her there was no money in the budget to hire more staff.

"The nerve of Albus, I know there's money in the budget, I review it every year before it gets sent to him, but every year he says there's no money. I think while I'm in Gringotts I will ask to review the accounts for Hogwarts." Minerva explains to Harry. Harry looks up at her quizzily while enjoying his bottle. Once his bottle is finished, Minerva changes his diaper and puts him in some clothes that she asked Tilly to buy, then brings him downstairs for some breakfast.

Once Harry is buckled into the highchair, Tilly places some dry cereal and diced bananas in front of Harry, while Minerva has a plate of fried eggs and breakfast sausages. Once Minerva is done eating, she grabs her quill and a piece of parchment in order to write a letter to Gringotts.

"Dear Axewielder, I am sorry about the short notice, but I urgently need an appointment with you at your earliest convenience. I also need you to include the Potter account manager, and if possible the Hogwarts account manager as well. There are some inaccuracies with the budget for Hogwarts, and I am growing tired of it. Please send a reply with Tilly regarding an appointment time.

May your vaults overflow

Sincerely,

Minerva McGonagall.

Once the ink has dried, she calls for Tilly. "Tilly, please bring this letter to Axewielder and wait for a reply. Once he has a reply please come back right away and I must stress this, DO NOT let anyone other than Axewielder see you there. I do not want Albus to know I defied him about leaving Harry at his relatives. Once you come back I will have another letter for you to deliver, will you be up for it?"

"Tilly is happy to deliver Miss Kitty's mail, I will do it with the utmost secrecy." Tilly replies.

"Thank you Tilly, I don't know what I would do without you." Minerva said. Tilly was left to her after her husband died, along with the house they bought and all his other assets. As sad as it was living in the house without her husband, she was glad she decided to stay. It was a 2-story farmhouse with a fully furnished basement, surrounded by 5 acres of bush. The bugs were a little annoying, but she loved the privacy of it. With bug repelling charms, she can enjoy the swimming pool they had installed, and with having part of the pool covered by an open walled pool house, she can enjoy it in just about any weather.

Since Harry was still happily picking up his cheerios with his fingers, as well as mashing his bananas with the plastic fork Minerva gave him, Minerva grabbed another piece of parchment in order to write a letter to Albus. As much as she didn't want to lie to him, she needed to take some time off of work in order to Harry settled in without Albus knowing the true reason for it.

"Dear Albus,

I am sorry this is short notice, but I need to take a leave of absence due to gaining temporary custody of Jayne. My brother and his wife were in a terrible car accident late last night. They are now stable in the London hospital, but they are both in a coma. I do not know when I will be able to return to my duties, but you will need to hire a new Transfiguration teacher for at least the rest of this school year."

Sincerely,

Minerva McGonagall

Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

As the ink is drying, she feels something hit her cheek, she looks over at Harry and she sees a huge smile on his face, and as he throws another handful of cheerios at Minerva, she places a small shield around her and the cheerios bounce back and hit Harry instead.

"Well I guess your full Harry. Do you want to come with me to run some errands?"

"Yes mama, but where dada?" Harry replies as well as any 15 month old can.

Minerva sighed, trying to figure out how to tell him that his true mom and dad have died. Hoping and praying that she could get some help from someone, other than the headmaster. Before she could say anything, Tilly popped into the room.

"Miss Kitty, Tilly has a reply from old, grumpy goblin."

"Thank you Tilly, now may you please take this letter to Hogwarts, and place it on the headmaster's desk, and can you also put a strong compulsion charm on it so that Albus has no choice but to read it? Also, can you stay in his office invisibly until he reads it? I want to watch his reaction via pensieve, it will probably be the highlight of my day."

"Tilly will do it Miss Kitty." With that, Tilly takes the letter and leaves for Hogwarts. Once Tilly left, Minerva placed Harry in the living room with some toys so she can read the letter from Axewielder.

"Dear Minerva,

Your appointment with Axegut, the Potter Account Manager, Rockgrinder, the Hogwarts Account Manager, and myself is scheduled for 10am this morning. I understand that secrecy is the utmost importance to you, so I have placed a portkey on this letter for you. It will activate at 9:50 and bring you directly into my office. We look forward to seeing you later this morning.

May your enemies die by your blade.

Sincerely,

Axewielder

McGonagall Account Manager."

Minerva places the letter in her pocket and casts a Tempus charm. By now it is 8:00, and somehow Harry has managed to strew his toys all over the living room and get ahold of the leftover banana she had diced for him. Instead of eating them, however, he decided he would rather wear it on his clothing. She shakes her head and decides to give Harry a bath. Once the bath was done, she redressed Harry and got ready herself to go to Gringotts. By the time both were ready it was 9:48 and she felt the letter heating up.

"Hold on tightly Harry, its time to go see the goblins, if you are good we will have some ice cream when we get back, how does that sound?" Minerva asks.

"Yes mama. I be good." Harry says. With that, Minerva grabs the letter and feels the hook by her naval and they are off to Gringotts.
