Chapter 9

Later that afternoon, after Minerva and Filius finished buying Harry some new toys and clothes for the near future, Filius and Minerva sit down in the living room so they can figure out a game plan while Harry is off in his play corner.

"So what are we going to do about Albus? I am so close in following in your footsteps and taking a leave of absence." Filius explains.

"Leave of absence, if Dumbledore uses his pull in the Wizengamont to keep his power, I will quit! As much as I love teaching, after what we saw in the memories, I cannot work under a meddling old fool who cares more about his sweets than his staff." Minerva explains.

"If that happens, I will quit right along with you. I never fully trusted Albus, but never thought he would stoop so low. Whatever you decide to do Minerva, I will follow you, you have always been honest with me, and honesty goes a long way in any circle. Now, the goblins promised to keep us abreast of the situation, so all we can do now is wait for them to contact us. Knowing how much my brethren value time, I have a feeling they are already working on a way to strip Dumbledore of his power. Now, shall we pop in a Disney movie for young Harry? I have a feeling he'll enjoy Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." With that, Minerva pops the movie into the VCR and brings Harry up onto the couch, and together, the three of them enjoy a classic Disney film, not knowing that Filius is thinking of ways to get the house elves to prank Dumbledore.

It's 9:00am on Monday, November 3rd, and Amelia Bones has just started her day at work and wondering why she joined the aurors in the 1st place. Her brother tried to talk her out of it, informing her of the corruption he has heard of in the Ministry within the last few years. Amelia is about as stubborn as a mule and joined the aurors anyway. Once she realized how true her brother's statement was, she decided to go to the goblins and ask them for help with weeding out the corruption. Her account manager Rockcrusher agreed to help her and asked if he would be allowed to bring in another couple of goblins in on the case. Amelia gave him permission to do so and signed a contract with them that she will send them any information she can get her hands on, and they will return the favour. She was glad she could inform Rockcrusher of Sirius' imprisonment and plans to push for a trial at the upcoming Wizengamont meeting this weekend. She remembers James, Sirius, and Remus from school, since they were all in the same year, she had heard the stories of the pranks they pulled and knew that friends like that wouldn't stab them in the back like that. She doesn't believe of Sirius' guilt and is enraged that Andy Queen would just ship someone off to Azkaban without questioning him first.

Before Amelia knows it, its lunchtime, taking a break from the paperwork she has been filling out she takes out her lunch and moves to the breakroom to meet with her coworkers, hoping that she can overhear any tidbit worthy of sending to Rockcrusher. By the end of lunch, she hadn't heard anything worthwhile to send to the goblins, so she reluctantly goes back to her desk.

An hour later, she saw her bottom right-hand drawer on her desk briefly shine gold. This is the signal that the goblins have sent her more information. Quickly throwing up some privacy wards, she reads the letter and is shocked that it is Rockgrinder writing her and is also shocked at the memory vials in companion to the letter.

"Dear Amelia,

I hope you are doing well today, we have had an informative weekend, and these memories will help you with the upcoming Wizengamont meeting. I must ask that at the meeting, you get Augusta Longbottom to follow your lead. I have requested a meeting between Augusta, myself, and you this evening at 6pm in my office so that we may get Augusta up to speed and put our plans in motion.

We look forward to seeing you this evening, may your vaults overflow.

Sincerely,

Rockgrinder, Hogwarts Account Manager"

Amelia starts wondering what the goblins have heard that she hasn't in the past 48 hours, so she bites the bullet and watches the 2 memories that Rockgrinder has sent her. The first one she watched showed Minerva adopting the recently orphaned Harry Potter, confirming her suspicions that Sirius is innocent, and accusing Albus of skimming funds from the budget. After 5 minutes of ranting and raving about what's been going through Albus' head, she feels she has calmed down enough to watch the second memory.

She was not calm enough; she just about smashed every single item in her cubicle but refrained from doing so because she didn't want to gather any unwanted attention from her coworkers. Seeing that it was now quitting time, she quickly punches out and heads for Gringotts, hoping that Augusta can help keep get the wheels turning.

Augusta Longbottom, to many people is a formidable woman. When her son Frank graduated Hogwarts and decided to become an auror, and later became a father to his young son Neville, she was practically bursting with pride. Everyone in the Wizengamont knew how strong of a backbone she had, and has tried to remain neutral through this previous war. She didn't agree with Frank and Alice joining Albus' flaming bird group, but she could not sway them from joining. So she did the next best thing, babysat her grandson while her children were off on missions.

Today, however, she must figure out a way to get to Gringotts, she just finished reading the letter she received from Rockgrinder and is curious as to why she is needed. Augusta now has full custody of her grandson due to Death Eaters killing his parents, luckily, she had Neville in her custody the night they were attacked, or they may have killed her grandchild as well. She quickly pens a note to Rockgrinder, letting him know that she will be there at the appointed time, but told him that she would be bringing her grandson with her, since she didn't trust her brother Algie to watch him. Ever since Algie started working with the Unspeakables, he has slowly been losing his mind, possibly due to one too many experimental charms to the head. Once packing the diaper bag, and making sure young Neville looked presentable, she gets ready to leave for the meeting with the goblins.

End Authors Note:

We have some new players on the board, and the plot begins to thicken. Will Dumbledore's sway be enough to get him out of this pickle jar? Or will he lose more than he thought? Please read and review. Again I'm thankful for everyone who has followed and reviewed this story so far.
