(A/N: Hello! I'm new to this website so I'm not sure if this is how you're meant to write notes haha. There was no place to really put this in the general info of the fic, so I'm putting it here. Don't worry, there won't be notes in the middle of the story. While this story focuses on Bakugou, his friendship with the others and the different universes, there will be some slowburn non-centric krbk elements in the background, just so you won't get confused. If you have an ao3 acc, I suggest reading this story there - with the same title - since there will be more notes at the start and end of the chapters, more edited content so they have less errors and more info in the tags. If you don't care, then that's cool, have fun and enjoy my story!)
"Alright, what?" Uraraka mumbles, shifting on one of the sofas that were set up. She looks around the rest of the room, set up with couches, bean bags and some snack tables. The rest of the class, as well as Aizawa, Yamada, Nezu, Kayama and the deflated version of All Might and also Mei – for some reason – are sitting somewhere or another around the room. Surely she's not the only one who thinks this is strange, right? Since when did they even have this room in U.A.?!
"Don't worry, I'll repeat myself again." Nezu says, standing in front of what looks like a cinema screen, "Hatsume here had managed to create a device to show us clips and parts from the multiverse, we're here to watch them." He gestures to the pink haired girl where she's happily eating some of the snacks at the back of the room as the students break into murmurs again. No matter how many times their principal says that, it would still feel surreal.
"Hi!" Mei beams, waving excitedly, "And thanks, but I couldn't've done anything without my friend here!" she exclaims before gesturing to a girl beside her who seems to have already eaten half of the table. "She's from the second year general education department!"
"Uhm, hi," the girl says awkwardly. Everyone tilts their heads to stare at her. She grimaces.
She has teal-ish gray skin and straight dark crimson hair with short bangs that reach her armpits. Her eyes are a few darker shades of blue from her skin and is wearing the typical U.A. skirt provided uniform with white tights underneath.
"My name is Hatada Marina… My Quirk lets me envision the different versions of an object or a person in the different universes when I make physical contact with them… Usually I only use my Quirk on objects because uh, privacy. But objects are usually, ya know. Boring and nothing really happens, yeah." She shrugs before shoving a pretzel into her mouth. Midoriya's murmuring could already be heard from the students near him at the front row.
"So, yeah!" Mei asserts, "By using some of her D.N.A., I made mechanism that can show these visions on this screen here!"
The students coo in wonderment before Aizawa clears his throat, drawing the attention back to the staff in the front left corner of the room, "We thought it might be useful to see some of these universes. It might reveal some useful information about our… universe. That's why we do not speak of anything we see here past these walls. Understand?"
Class 1-A nods in affirmation earnestly before muttering could be heard from the back of the room, "I still think most of these will be useless…" Hatada says, a chocolate chip cookie half hanging from her mouth, "Alternate universes are usually either drastically different or pretty much the same… Or I guess when you spectate on a chair it might feel like that…"
"So," Nezu declares, "We had to pick a subject – a human subject – for the most interesting results. Someone who is unpredictable enough and has potential to branch out."
"You already picked someone?" Jirou asks.
"Yup!" Yamada is the one to reply this time, "In the end, we chose Bakugou!"
All of the students' gazes snap to the spiky blond, sitting comfortably on one of the bean bags he's sharing with Kirishima set on the right corner of the room, close to the screen. On the bean to his left is Kaminari and to his right are Sero and Mina, in front of them a low table with a few cups of tea and bowls of snacks. There's a similar arrangement on the other side of the room, where the teachers are.
Bakugou has his hands crossed over his chest, looking very much smug. "Woah!" Kirishima breaths, looking sharply to his right and at his friend, "Dude, that's awesome!"
"Yup. Of course I would be the first pick!"
"Actually…" Kayama muses on one of the couches on the second row away from the other staff, hugging a pillow, "You were our third pick."
"What."
"Well," Mei goes on to explain, "We picked based on the variety of experiences the person went through, so we picked Midoriya first."
They all look at the greenette, then, and the freckled boy shivers. "Really, Deku?" Uraraka inquiries from her seat to his left, "But you acted like this was a new discovery to you, too."
Midoriya shrugs nervously, chuckling slightly, "W-well, it's just still super interesting!"
"Yeah, I guess we can't blame you." Shinsou says from his other side.
Mei continues, "But he had so many universes connected to him the computer kind of crashed…"
"Damn," Sero mutters, "Finally he was able to experience the sheer amount of… information he gives off – oof!" Bakugou elbows him in the gut.
"Well?" The angry blond barks, "Who was the second choice?"
"Todoroki." All Might simply says.
The aforementioned teen, who's sitting next to Shinsou in the front row, shrugs, "I didn't feel comfortable intruding on my other selves' businesses like that."
"So, wait," Kaminari exclaims, lying upside down on his bean, face already becoming red, "Does this mean there's a possibility that in a different dimension we're watching ourselves here?!"
"That may be possible…" Hatada says from one of the last row's sofas, large soda cup in hand. From where she got it, no one knows. "There's also a chance we'll catch ourselves watching the multiverse in a different universe, technically…"
"Multiverception…" Hagakure mumbles.
"But yeah," the teal skinned girl drawls, "I'm kind of only here for any questions… My Quirk tends to be somewhat confusing… And because this is a good excuse to not do my homework…" She says that last part quietly, but not enough, apparently.
"You could do your homework while we watch." Aizawa says with a frown.
"Goddammit."
"There are notebooks provided in the back to take notes on any information revealed that might turn out useful." Nezu explains before some of the students get up to take a notebook and a pen.
"So!" Mei calls, "Are we ready?!"
The class cheers. Aizawa shakes his head. Too loud.
The pink haired girl taps her tablet a little before the giant screen in front of the students lights up, and the lights in the room dim, a loading bar showing:
Searching the multiverse… 0%
"Uh oh." Mina puts it simply. The class grumbles in agreement.
Searching the multiverse… 23%
Searching the multiverse… 74%
Searching the multiverse… 100%
"Oh- uh. Never mind…"
Now playing: Emotion Vision.
"Wait? Who's coming up with these names?" Satou asks, tilting his head. The room looks back to Hatada who shrugs, not looking up from her textbook. Alright then.
