"It's Bakuverse Night, baby!" Kaminari shouts as he dives through Bakugou's dorm room's door.
"Uwah!" Kirishima squeaks from where he is being tutored by Bakugou around the low table before turning to Kaminari. "Is it really already?" Kirishima looks at the clock on Bakugou's bedside table. "Ah I guess it is."
"I'm so excited." Bakugou says dryly.
"Aw, it's not so bad, Mr. Massacre! It might be a little scary, but nothing you can't handle I'm sure!"
Bakugou gives him a flat look.
"I didn't know you were allowed to see into Bakubro's room, Kami." Kirishima admits as they walk towards the elevator to leave with the rest of the class.
"I have my ways, Kiri."
Last week's little dinner plan kind of worked for Hatada. And she's been feeling much better after a week. Her sleep schedule was kind of fucked up throughout the first half of the week, but she's okay. Who needs more than six hours of sleep a night anyways? Eraserhead, who joins Hatada's 'Quirk sessions', doesn't look like he's sleeping at all! Except for when the students are watching the episodes of course. And he's a pro hero!
This time around instead of sitting next to Midoriya and Iida, Uraraka opted to sit next to Tsu and instead Aoyama sat between Shinsou and Todoroki in the front row. For the past week the blond had made great friends with the group. They really liked him, for some reason.
Well, that reason is because he is awesome and sparkly and pretty as heaven but he has no idea why. Having an idea and no clue at the same time does exist, kids. A reason that Aoyama continuingly ponders. Not that he minds. Todoroki and all of his friends are considerably attractive. And nice. And strange. Just like him! It was meant to be.
"Hanta o'clock!" Sero calls as he flops over Bakugou who's sitting on the middle beanbag.
"Augh! What the hell, Soy Sauce?!"
"It's Hanta o'clock." The ravenette repeats, lowering his flopped limbs and raising his face from Bakugou's chest to look at him. "It's my turn to sit with the one and only."
"You say that as if we haven't been watching different me's for the past couple weeks." Bakugou replies as he swats Sero into a position that doesn't consist of the taller lying atop the shorter.
"Okay ladies, gentlemen and fancy folks, we're starting!" Mei announces cheerily before tapping to start on her tablet.

"Nice," Sero and Kaminari say in unison.
Now playing: Thorned Roses.
"So this is the romantic episode?" Yaomomo asks.
"You extras should just stop getting your hopes up every time." Bakugou gets that they're teenagers or whatever but all of this love obsession is just getting creepy. "Just 'cause roses symbolize romance and shit doesn't mean that they have other uses, Ponytail."
Kirishima chuckles. "Yeah! Like to symbolize Bakugou! He's our lovely spiky boy!" …And he smells good.
Bakugou scowls. Spiky? Him? Has Kirishima looked at a mirror ever? He spikes that stupid head of his every morning, right? All bright red, too. "Speak for yourself, Shitty hair!"
The little squad stop their laughing to smile shockingly at the huffing blond. Kirishima blushes. Bakugou just called him lovely? Huh. Before the redhead could dissect that any further, the viewing session loaded up and snatched everyone's attention away,
Naturally, after discovering his Quirk, Katsuki couldn't stop using it the whole day at kindergarten. It's so awesome! And now he can be sure that he'll be the number one hero in no time! With a Quirk like this, he could surpass All Might easily!
"Tiny Blasty, people!" Hagakure shouts, her floating sleeve punching the air.
"I can't wait to see what shitty thing happens to me this time." At least he still has his explosion Quirk.
"Aw, maybe it's gonna be a nice one, like that Pixel Space episode." Sero replies.
"Pixel Galaxy," Bakugou corrects.
"Sorry, right," he coughs.
"Yeah," Kirishima chuckles, the little Bakugou on screen making him smile wholesomely much like the rest of the room. God he wants to hold that. That would be funny. "Why are you so sure something bad is going to happen?"
"I don't get my hopes up based on the title or the damn first scene."
"There's a difference between not being optimistic and being pessimistic, my friend." Kaminari says.
"Nice use of words, Kaminari!" Mina congratulates.
"Hehe, thanks!"
Bakugou scoffs. It's called being a realist. And it just so happens that the blond found a pattern to these universes – him not being an awesome hero. That Emotion Vision crap was weak.
"Is nobody gonna talk about how Bakugou said he would surpass All Might at the age of four?" Jirou murmurs.
"Katsuki…!" Dad sings as he comes at the end of the day to pick the boy up and bring him home, "I heard that you got your Quirk?"
"Yeah!" he says excitedly as he bounces towards the parent, Izu following closely behind. "Look!" He gives his father a display of his newly required skill, popping a few small blasts from his palms. "I'm gonna name it Katsuki's Super Awesome Explosion Boom Pow Quirk of Awesomeness!"
Uraraka giggles, cupping her mouth with a hand, "It's better than 'Fuck You', that's for sure!" She tries not to gush about the small Midoriya onscreen.
"It wouldn't be practical at all!" the freckled teen sputters.
"Please smile more often." Mina sighs.
"Make me."
"Thanks! I'll gladly be a great friend, Bakagou!"
"Wait—"
"No take backs!" Sero says, "You're getting all that Bakusquad love until we see you smile!"
"The Baku-what-now?"
"Look at tiny Midoriya!" Hagakure squeals, startling Ojirou and Kouda, who're sitting next to her. It seems she isn't trying to not gush about it.
"Agreed." Shinsou says.
"We already went through this?" Midoriya furrows his brows.
"And?"
"Uh,"
"That wouldn't be practical at all!" Izu sputters.
"See?" Midoriya gestures frantically to the screen.
"Well, we'll see when we go to a doctor soon. Just don't use it without permission of an adult, how about that – Okay, Katsuki?" Masaru asks as he takes his son's hand.
"Hmm, fine. Bye bye, Izu!"
"Bye!"
Everything was great. Just so great! Mom was so impressed with his Quirk, even if she warned him not to use it inside the house and it just felt so good! He couldn't stop using it all day in the garden. "Pah!" He punches at the air, avoiding the clothes line like dad said to do, a small explosion erupting from his palm. "No one messes with the number one hero ahaha!" He places his now odd-feeling palms on his hips and smiles down at his imaginary villain.
Kaminari clutches his chest, "Augh! Too! Cute!"
"You can't just show us Bakugou as a child and that's all, it's not fair!" Satou complains.
Bakugou rolls his eyes and plants his face deeper in his beanbag, fully planning on just straight up falling asleep. These people get so high on seeing little kids, he swears to god. It's fucking weird.
"Katsuki! Dinner's ready!" Mom calls. Even though Katsuki was just about to deliver the final blow… Well, he can always continue tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that!
He steps on the stool in the bathroom,
Kayama slams her hands on her thighs when the small Bakugou steps on the short stool, moving in that awkward way children move and face more relaxed than any of the students had probably seen Bakugou with. Quality content. Forget the actual plot.
When he washes his hands before a meal – like all good boys do! – he hisses when the freezing water – because Katsuki does not have the mental maturity to understand that you don't have to wash your hands in freezing cold water every time – hits his palms. It's over in a second and he frowns at his hands.
"Ow…" he mutters as he applies soap, washes, and dries his hands on his pants.
"Side effects tend to be the strongest when a Quirk had just manifested in a person, or they use it too much." Aizawa informs dryly, "That's one of the reasons to why it's important to use your Quirk responsibly and cater to its needs, though I'm sure you all have that part down by now." Midoriya nods feverishly. He doesn't doubt that Bakugou has been experiencing these kinds of symptoms early on but hasn't said anything about it at the time. He probably sees that as weak, that tiny Bakugou.
Fellas, is it weak to have a strong Quirk?
"Tell me about it," Yamada murmurs. Stories about his childhood from his parents never sounded pleasant.
Katsuki goes to the dining room to eat. In no time he'll feel fine, so it's whatever.
And then it isn't.
"No, they don't understand!" Katsuki calls, jumping up and down in the middle of the mostly empty parking lot next to where the Quirk doctor did their stupid and wrong examinations.
"I'm getting major déjà vu." Ojirou says.
"So Bakugou was right?" Kirishima clarifies with a sad frown, "Something shitty did happen to him?" Now it's just the question of what, exactly. Since his Quirk is still there. He looks to Bakugou for input but the blond is sound asleep. Alright.
"Aww," Sero says, snaking his hands around Bakugou's middle.
"Hey! He doesn't allow hands!"
"Kami – what?"
"Katsuki—"
"No no, mom, listen." He says calmly but loudly as he ignores his mom's body language urging him to the car.
"Katsuki—"
"Listen! If I just use the Quirk more, I'll build up a tolerance, okay?" Katsuki explains because clearly, Mitsuki isn't getting the message, "My body might not be sa, sutabo… su-tu,"
"Suitable."
"Suitable for my Quirk yet, but it will be in like a week with practice, okay?" he describes hastily, hoping his mom would understand, "You know, Izu told me that a lot of heroes have trouble with their Quirks when they first get them, but—"
"Katsuki!"
"So his body isn't suitable for his Quirk in this one?" Sero asks.
"No, it's not sa-sutabo-su-tu-suitable in this one," Shinsou clarifies.
"Aw, that sucks," Mina sighs, "Of course Bakugou has to be right when he's being a negative Nancy."
Midoriya taps the end of his pen on his chin, "Kacchan's Quirk is to sweat nitroglycerin from his palms and ignite them on command… Perhaps in this universe his skin isn't fire resistant, or maybe he creates explosions without the nitroglycerin, which since there is no explanation behind the eruption in the meantime, they take some other kind of thing out of Kacchan that he doesn't have enough – causing him to harm himself? Maybe the harm isn't coming from the explosion itself but the cause of it? But when he washed his hands, they were sensitive to the cold, a tell that it is indeed a burn – first degree at best… Maybe the explosion is coming out of his actual palm and not just the sweat—?"
"Please keep your notes to your notebook, Midoriya." Iida urges with nervous hand chopping, "You're distracting the rest of the class."
"Oh, s-sorry, Iida."
Katsuki closes his mouth when he hears his mother's shoes tap-tapping their way towards him and she crouches, picking him up before balancing him on her arms and straightening, even though Katsuki usually doesn't like being picked up, "Ho-pah," she huffs before frowning lightly down at his pout, "Katsuki," she coos, "What is a chemist experienced in?"
Katsuki frowns before looking down. Not this talk again… "Chemistry."
"And a vet?"
"Animals."
"That's right. And what is a Quirk doctor experienced in?"
"…Quirks."
"Exactly," she says, rebalancing him in her grip. "So you understand that even though you're really smart and talented, this Quirk doctor has more experience than you in Quirks of all kind? And can spot when a Quirk is harmful to their owner?"
"But—"
"Katsuki," Mitsuki hisses, "I'm asking if you understand, not for your opinion."
Katsuki groans loudly, letting his head fall on his mother's shoulder. "I guess. But. I've only had this Quirk for a week! What if they're wrong?"
"Do you think those tests that have taken three hours of our day of every day for the entire past two weeks in that freezing cold office with the mints you don't even like were all for nothing?"
"No, I guess. Profe-ssi-onals are really good at their profe-ssi-ons… Even if you don't like it." Katsuki recites.
"That went considerably better than last time." Yaomomo comments.
"I guess having no Quirk was better for him than having a villainous Quirk – kero." Tsu croaks.
"I wonder how he'll feel when he realizes there are no villainous Quirks." Kouda comments, not scared of the blond's response since he's still out cold.
Shinsou shrugs, "He'll get over it." When it comes to his Quirk, it seems to take a lot for Bakugou to resent himself for it. If he got over Emotion Vision, he'll get over not being able to use his Quirk. Or he'll… find a way to use it anyway.
"I'm sure he'll find a way to subside the effects eventually," Aoyama says, "If I can do it, then I'm sûr Bakugou can too."
"Yeah, and besides," Mitsuki starts as she walks to the car and straps Katsuki to his booster seat, "What do you think sounds more impressive: defeating the big All Might with the Quirk that you just so happened to get that just so happened to be strong, or by your own strength alone? Katsuki, the hero that defeated the number one hero with his own fists, kicks and determination!"
"Yeah! I'll beat all their butts without even using my Quirk!"
"That's what I want to hear!" She smiles as she pinches her son's cheeks, making him groan. "So no more using your Quirky-Quirk, kay?"
"Okay." Katsuki sighs as his mother closes the backseat door. He looks at her from the window walking to her own side of the car before his smirk intensifies, "I'll be stronger than any Quirk out there!"
"That's nice," Kirishima says, giving the napping Bakugou a glance.
Midoriya smiles softly at the scene, though it's a little bittersweet. He hopes it's not selfish to wish his mother would have reacted like that. But like mother like son, Mitsuki isn't one to give up for things she cares for. "If Kacchan can really become a hero without using his Quirk, then it would surely inspire many Quirkless kids out there."
"Turning something that could be considered an inconvenient into a motivator is especially difficult, and very admirable." Tokoyami says. He was more directing it to Bakugou's mom than anything. They still need to see how the blond boy would handle it growing up. Since he wasn't always as innocent as the little kid on screen, especially in their universe.
"A very true lesson you all could learn from!" Yamada cheerily adds.
"I wish I could get this pumped up for anything – that isn't pummeling someone to the ground – these days." Mina expresses, "Though I guess even there he's excited about winning over everyone. I guess some things never change."
"If we could get him that pumped up for cooking," Kaminari says, "We'd be set."
Going into U.A. without a track record is ideal. But brats keep picking fights with Katsuki, because he's 'Quirkless'. He's not, thanks. His Quirk 'I'll Beat You up If You Don't Shut Your Mouth' is very real and existent. And people do sometimes shut their mouth, because even without his Quirk, Katsuki is intimidating. And sometimes they don't. And he doesn't beat them up. Because he doesn't want a track record, okay?
"So last time it was for having a villainous Quirk, and then Midoriya being unable to get his Quirk and now it's this?" Shouji frowns, "Your middle school seems kind of crappy, no offence Midoriya."
"None taken."
But sometimes he doesn't want to fucking do nothing. Like for example, right now,
"I do have a fucking Quirk!" he yells at this one girl from his class who insists on bothering him all the fucking time. She can create fire out of her hand, if he remembers correctly. Good for her. She can use her Quirk.
"What? That 'I'm Gonna End You' Quirk again? You're all bark and no bite!" she laughs. Her friends behind her joined in the howling fest, a little too loudly. Probably just to annoy Katsuki. It works and he bares his teeth. Fucking damn it.
"It's none of your business what his Quirk is! You're just a bully!" Izuku steps up, now standing too closely to the interaction for Katsuki to really feel comfortable.
Midoriya smiles with a curious tilt of his head. Bakugou saying his first name like this sounds fresh. Though he doesn't mind 'Deku'. Maybe because he expects Midoriya to also become a hero without a Quirk with him? He has a feeling that their Bakugou isn't using it the same way he used to anymore anyway.
"A true hero from day one!" Uraraka cheers, patting Midoriya on the back from where she was sitting behind him.
"It's nothing,"
"Even before you got your Quirk you were standing up for your friends. That's very praiseworthy, mon amie."
"Ahh, Aoyama, th-thank you."
"Team Deku all the way!" Uraraka cheers.
One of the chick's lackeys scoffs – some girl that can grow horns or something – and swiftly kicks Izuku in the stomach, "Shut up, Midoriya!" she spits as Izuku falls on his behind, grunting and clutching his stomach.
"Get her out of the pink cheek gang!" Uraraka shouts.
"Boo!" Hagakure hollers.
The first girl laughs again, sounding like a fucking hyena. "We get that you both are the little Quirkless losers of the class, but you don't have to make it so vocal!"
Katsuki scowls at the groaning boy before turning sharply to the group before him. "I'm. Not. Quirkless!"
"Yeah? Well show me, hero." She brings her hand up, presumably preparing her Quirk.
He really doesn't want to fight this chick. And everyone is watching now. Ugh. And none of the teachers care, surprise surprise.
"Be the bigger person," Aizawa murmurs, praying to all the gods above that his problem child does the right thing. He'll have to look into Midoriya's and Bakugou's middle school later. The sheer negligence of these teachers is making him want to toss them out of a window or something. Maybe if he works with Nedzu, they can do something about it. He writes a note to himself in his notebook for later.
Without really thinking ahead, or expecting something to happen, Katsuki turns his hands around so his palms are facing up and fingers curling. This stance feels natural, it just feels right. This isn't the first time he really… posed like this? It mostly happens when he gets extremely angry. But he kind of just assumed it's a thing everyone does. Like banging your hand on the table or groaning. Katsuki sometimes just holds his hands forward and lets his fingers twitch. It's rarer than anything, so it's easier to notice when he does it. Usually because he probably looks like an idiot.
"Oh, we know what this means." Ojirou voices.
"The Boom Boom pose." Sero murmurs.
"The You've Done Fucked up stance," Kaminari chimes in.
"The Manly Murder mannerism." Kirishima pipes up.
"Or the M.M.M. for short," Mina shrugs.
"That Thing Bakugou Does With His Hands." Jirou says.
"Wait, is he going to use his Quirk?"
"Wait,"
Before he could understand what he was doing, two unstable explosions erupt from his hands. They all stop. The smoke floats to the air as everyone involved freezes and gapes at him. Katsuki still has his palms forward like he's about to catch a ball, the girl still has her hand up like she's swearing to god and Izuku is still sitting on his ass.
Katsuki's seen a few pictures and videos of fights before the Quirk era where the people would have their fist in front of them all cool-like? He guesses this is how it is nowadays. What the fuck has the world gone to.
"We still do that." Iida frowns.
"Some Quirks demand different stances than the norm," Shinsou shrugs. The capture weapon isn't his Quirk, but still. People usually don't grab at their scarf to seem intimidating.
The look on those bitches' faces makes him grin so hard his face starts to hurt and he releases a few more pops for intimidation. They're uneven and a little too loud and flashy but they do the work. He hasn't used his biological Quirk (yes the 'I'll Kill You' and the 'Never Giving Up' Quirks are very much real, shut up) since his diagnosis. It kind of stings – literally – but he just needs it for now.
Just don't make it a habit, please, the room thinks. Bakugou usually tends to get carried away, especially when he's experiencing emotions. Bakugou is still asleep.
Intimidating a classmate is usually not the way to go, anyways. So, that's also something to consider.
"Kacchan…"
"See?" Katsuki snarls at the girls, ignoring the now nervous looking Izuku, "Don't fucking doubt me." He steps closer to the fire-hand-Quirk-girl, her friends swiftly retreating and abandoning her now panicked and amazed look, his hands continuing to explode over and over again.
He doesn't have good control over his Quirk, obviously, so the smoke and flashing and noise feel to almost surround him, and he loses focus on their surroundings. It's starting to hurt. He'll get in trouble for this for sure. "Next time one of you assholes motherfucking messing with me or some other idiot," Ow, okay, ow, ow, "I won't hesitate to blow your ugly face off."
"Just stop using your Quirk if it hurts!" Kayama whines.
"I don't like where this is going." Kouda murmurs.
"Did you like where it was going before?" Shouji asks, pointing an eye attached hand to the other boy.
"…No,"
He steps closer and the girl trips, falling much like the freckled boy did earlier and looking terrified. Katsuki means to stop his Quirk at this point but, uh. He can't.
"No, no, stop this now!" Jirou squirms, kicking her legs and hiding her face partially out of nervousness.
Midoriya bites his fingernails. A Quirk going out of control almost always ends up with that person getting hurt, or someone else. "Woah, you're shaking!" Shinsou tells him. He's actually almost vibrating form the intensity of his shaking right now.
Todoroki frowns at his lap. He hopes Bakugou will turn out okay.
But if he acts like he had lost control over his Quirk, this girl will probably start making fun of him for a whole completely different reason, and would know that he won't use his Quirk on her again because,
Ahh,
Hah.
This hurts a lot. Fuuuck.
"Okay, okay, I-I get it, man!" the classmate says, slowly leaning into the ground with her hands up in front of her with how Katsuki is looming above her with his obnoxious blasts. He gets it too, but. "I'm sorry!" she sobs. Okay, stop now, explosions, please. They don't. He at least aims it towards the sky and away from her. That's how much he can really think right now.
"Bakugou!" he hears a teacher call, but not brave enough to step into the storm of bursts.
Okay time to play this shit off. "Remember this…" Katsuki barely slurs to the girl as he leans over her. He's a second from falling over. He feels lightheaded. And shit is starting to get blurry as fuck and wow. This shit sucks. He gets it! He learned his lesson! Now stop please!
And then everything goes white and his ears are ringing. And he immediately thinks that he passed out or something.
"This has to be some sort of horror genre, right?" Mei says, fanning her hands over herself with a voice too chipper for what's occurring onscreen.
"New movie genre just dropped," Satou grunts, shuddering, "Quirks against humanity."
"Self-aware Quirks." Sero murmurs, resting his head on Bakugou's shoulder. Bakugou slaps it away, in his sleep. The squad chuckles as Sero frowns deeper.
"This is exactly why we listen to professionals." Yamada chirps, trying his best to lighten the mood. They're not going to have to watch their student get blown inside out, right?
