"Me too, bitch." Katsuki replies, pointing at himself with awe, "I haven't used my Quirk in years and then I just lost control of it." Relating to a civilian and making conversation, making them comfortable is a good first step to being a hero. This girl shouldn't be ashamed of her Quirk. Katsuki's convinced that his is evil and was brought by the devil himself, but it's his motherfucking Quirk and whatever this chick has is her motherfucking Quirk and it's better than nothing.
Izuku would agree.
"Oh my god, oh my god!" the girl hollers excitedly, smiling widely as she hops towards him, "Me too, me too, oh my god! We're the same! What's your name?"
Midoriya nods, "Getting my Quirk late and breaking all my bones at the start of the year was the best thing to happen in my life."
Aizawa pinches the bridge of his nose, another part of his precious soul escaping his body. What is wrong with these kids.
"She doesn't seem all that sad about it." Satou comments, "This isn't the story of how she becomes a villain, right? Since it seems Bakugou is experiencing a similar situation but has taken quite the opposite out of it, saying he'll be a better hero and all."
"Maybe that's because he already wanted to be a hero? We don't know what Toga wanted to do after school. Maybe she planned on being a villain anyways." Sero expresses while shrugging, his palms facing upwards in line with his shoulders – proving that the Bakusquad can make smart observations! – his elbow nudges against Bakugou's side, making the blond groan tiredly. Though Sero simply just gives him an unimpressed glance and ignores it.
"Give this man a blanket." Kirishima chuckles, chopping his wrist towards where Bakugou is napping. A blanket gets tossed from a nearby couch; the student whom had thrown it shall not be named, due to safety repercussions. Bakugou tisks, shoving the yellow fluffy blanket to the side Sero isn't on and stubbornly closes his eyes with his chin pointing at the ceiling.
"My name is Bakugou Katsuki, and I'm gonna be the number one hero, without using my Quirk!" he says proudly, preening and pointing at himself with a thumb. Ow.
Yamada grimaces through his constant smile. If meeting a total creepy stranger alone in the woods isn't an immediate red flag to not only run away, but to at the very least not state your full name, then he does not have a clue to what is.
The girl tilts her head curiously, finger at her pout as her hair flops around her shoulders, "Katsuki… wouldn't it be cooler though if you used your Quirk to become the number one hero?"
Katsuki regains himself from the shock of this stranger using his first name before he answers defensively, the smell of blood now being apparent more than ever, irritating him, "No! My Quirk is evil! I'm not supposed to use it!"
Kirishima feels an ugly feeling steering in his gut at Toga's use of Bakugou's personal name, as if she has any right to use that name so casually. Maybe it sucks more that it seems this other Bakugou doesn't really mind her calling him that.
"If we started using his first name, do you think he'd notice?" Kaminari whispers loudly.
Sero sighs wistfully. "Yes, I think so, unfortunately."
"It's really not fair." Mina groans.
"But think about it this way," Tokoyami points out, head craned away from the group so he'll have a better angle to look at them with, "When you do get first name privileges with Bakugou, it'll feel like you earned it, and will be more fulfilling."
"Oh yeah," Kirishima agrees, rubbing his chin with his thumb and pointer finger.
"You're not even on first name basis with each other, though." Satou points out.
Kaminari scoffs, "Well, we have patience. We're not animals, are we?"
"Yeah, unlike some people." Mina voices, practically growling the last part at the screen.
The girl frowns in a way that's so unlike what Katsuki had just seen of her, full of hurt and sorrow and empathy, bright yellow eyes shining like she's just about to bawl. Uh oh. Is he already fucking up his first heroic interaction? Before Katsuki can try and resolve whatever this is, she speaks quietly and genuinely,
"That's what my mom and dad said about my Quirk too… If I had a hero that could understand what I was going through… It's never fair." She takes the last two steps between them and places her hands on his shoulder caringly with a face full of something. He can't really read expressions, like in books. "Katsuki, show the world that Quirks are never evil. They're a part of you, and that you should embrace them and treat them well." She slides her hands down his shoulders and sleeves, getting them wet with his own blood and he frowns as she smiles again, gripping at his wrists.
"Don't let anyone tell you what your Quirk is, I bet it's awesome! And show the world you can be the top hero with your quote unquote 'evil' Quirk. So others know they're not alone."
"Like her or hate her, she's spitting straight facts." Shinsou says.
"Goddamn it." Midoriya curses, making Iida and Aoyama flinch, "She's saying things I can sympathize with."
"If this is her motive for… attempted murder," Tsu croak, "Well, it's understandable. But it's still villainy – kero…"
Hagakure whines, kicking her legs up and down against the air and throwing her head back, "Stop trying to be relatable and like, human! I'd rather her just act straight up evil, 'cause this is confusing!"
Katsuki blinks at her, getting more frustrated by the physical contact. He yanks himself away before composing himself, grumbling, "I think you might have the wrong idea. My Quirk is harmful for me and is the cause of this," He raises his palms, annoyingly waving them in front of her face – which makes her flinch, but her eyes light up nonetheless like a puppy when their owners arrives home, "I'm setting an example for hero-wannabes that can't use or don't have a Quirk!"
"Ohh…" she coos, placing her blooded finger on her lips again, making Katsuki grimace further, contemplating telling her she should watch where she touches. "I'm sorry, Katsuki, I misunderstood. I guess we are a little more different than what I thought."
"Bastard." Uraraka growls, "She's trying to get his blood, I knew it!"
For some reason, Shinsou feels disappointment swell in him. What has he come to, where he wishes for relatability in literal villains.
Aizawa feels his need to protect his problem children like a mama bear flare up in him like a sixth sense. If he had his capture weapon with him, it would most likely start floating at this point – which thank god he doesn't, then. Because that would be embarrassing.
Yamada tilts his head and strokes his too-short-to-look-cool while stroking mustache. Is she just obsessed with eating blood? Why doesn't she just drink her own?
"Just goes to show that villains are just villains." Uraraka continues. So all that be the hero I need speech was just an act. There's no way, in any universe, where a person like that would be sensible or redeemable.
"Knowing she's exploiting him but not knowing for when or why is just so…" Midoriya tries finding a word for it, "Anxiety inducing." Is she going to rob a bank using his face? Maybe something even worse… but there's no way that amount of blood is enough for her to do something that takes a long time. Maybe she's planning on leaving his DNA at a crime scene to frame him? So is there a reason it's Bakugou specifically? Or is she just using the first person she meets after her 'Quirk accident'… What is she planning on doing though, if she sounded so genuine about needing a hero…?
"Yeah," He clears his throat awkwardly, "Well, do you want me to show you how to get back to the nearest neighborhood? I know these woods pretty well." Yes, yes, get back to the task at hand.
"Oh, that's okay!" She perks up, her canines shining from the afternoon sun peeking through the leaves as she beams at him, "I think I'm gonna stay here for a little longer, but thank you!" She tilts her head, "Can I actually ask you another question? I promise I'll let you leave after!" she giggles.
Katsuki does his best to not scoff, shifting his weight to lean his back on a nearby tree. "What do you want, Blondie."
"He's – You're—" Kaminari turns his head to a stubbornly still asleep Bakugou before turning it back to his other friends, bafflement shining in his wide eyes, "He's blond too."
"We're aware, boo." Mina sighs fondly.
"He calls Midoriya 'nerd' too… This shouldn't be anything new, Kaminari – kero." Tsu croaks.
"It's just fun to point out when Bakubro's wrong." He shrugs.
"If you really think someone can be a hero without using a Quirk, do you think that someone can be a good person with a villainous Quirk? Or a hero too?"
"Yeah." he answers with no second thought. Most of the Quirks he's overheard as people calling 'villainous' were some sort of mental Quirk, or something that was intimidating. But who gives a shit. Just fucking use it correctly. If Katsuki can find hobbies that will let him get rid of the pressure in his hands without blowing them up, then someone can learn to control their own stupid Quirk, or just. Ignore what people are saying about it.
Maybe he doesn't really understand what other people might be going through fully because giving up is simply not a thing that Katsuki can grasp or do, even if he wants – but he's human enough to see the full half of the cup when he's trying to be a decent person – let alone her – to a stranger who seems distressed.
And anyways, it doesn't matter what you use to save someone – a hero is still a hero.
"Like him or hate him," Todoroki places a hand on his shoulder before Shinsou could find out he's not as funny as he thinks he is.
"Why does he have more tact and emotional maturity than our Bakubaby?" Mina sighs, not really caring enough to really whine about it.
"I guess he just grows up at different speeds…" Midoriya answers, "He's been humbled a lot earlier here," He gestures at the screen, "So I'm guessing it's just going to take him a while longer here." He doesn't gesture at the screen, this time…
Kirishima slams his fist against each other in his iconic move and beams, "And we'll be here all along the way to help him!"
"You're acting like you don't have any growing up to do yourself." Kirishima tilts his head to look at Aizawa before laughing sheepishly,
"Well, we can do it together!" The other three that are awake in their little corner cheer.
Aizawa raises his eyebrows before realizing that his student is most likely talking about Bakugou, and their other friends and classmates, and not about him. He crosses his arms and burrows his chin to his chest as he slumps on his seat, pretending like he hadn't just gotten his hopes up by one of his students. Still, Yamada smiles sympathetically at him while patting his shoulder. Mission failed.
The girl looks taken aback by the casual tone before smiling brighter than the sun, cheeks pink and golden eyes glistening. "Then I'm looking forward yo your debut, Katsuki. I'll be your number one fan!"
Katsuki nods. "Uhm, cool. T'was nice meeting you." And with that, the girl cheerily skips away deeper into the forest until shadows cover her up and he can't see her no more.
Yeah…
Time for medical attention.
"Maybe she wasn't using him." Todoroki speaks, "But in this universe he coaxes her to become… less evil?"
"She's mad gone." Uraraka says, "No way was this girl ever sane."
"Not that I like her or anything," Kayama says as she obnoxiously stretches her arms over her head, leaning back on the side of the couch not unlike a cat, "But isn't this the perfect time to open up your mind to new possibilities and points of view? Explore, learn something new about yourself and others! Even if they might be evil! Maybe this can give us more information about Toga, but you got to consider the possibilities!"
Uraraka sighs again, cheek squished against Tsu's shoulder, "I know… but it's hard."
"It would be nice if Bakugou could change the future like that, or anyone really," Shouji voices, relating to what Todoroki had said, "Sometimes all we really need is some kindness, and the world will become better."
"That's why giving your all into being a hero is important!" Satou continues happily, "And we all know that Bakugou isn't one to half ass stuff."
"Give it your all!" Yamada cheers.
"Go—" Midoriya shakenly but excitedly starts,
"Go beyond—!" Kaminari screams,
"Plus ultra!" the class respond in a roar, only a half second before Bakugou wordlessly releases a massive blast right prior to Aizawa activating his Quirk on the class.
"Keep it down, will you," he grumbles, blinking his Quirk away, "It's way too late for this."
"It's always either too late or too early with you," Yamada chuckles, nudging at the brooding teacher as the room fills with a more light and loud atmosphere than few seconds ago.
"It is when it comes to unnecessary recklessness."
Meanwhile, Midoriya glares silently with a flat line for a mouth – a sight that would install fear in any witnesses – but going unnoticed. If he was ever to commit murder, he wouldn't start with Kaminari, unfortunately.
The scene changes,
Katsuki glares down at the sidewalk as he struts home from another miserable day of school, desperately looking for some empty can or something so he could kick it into the next town over, bypassing other civilians and shops, hands curled into tight fists at his side as he fumes.
"Oh, we have more plot incoming, friends!" Hagakure cheers.
"I'm glad we'll be able to see what happens next," Ojirou says, "Though I can't expect anything positive, with the whole I-wanna-murder-someone face and the… Toga…"
"I'm scared for what's to come next," Tsu sighs, "Or for whatever happened before this scene, since in this alternate universe he seemed generally more level headed – kero."
Fuck U.A. and its stupid exams. Honestly, Katsuki isn't even that fucking mad about not getting in,
"Since Bakugou is asleep, may I do the honors?" Kirishima asks.
Sero nods once, grin easy, "You may."
Kirishima clears his throat, "Are you fucking serious!? Why can't I have one fucking universe where I'm in the heroics course?! Is that too much to fucking ask for?! I'm Bakugou and my hair feels like straw!"
Kaminari shushes him aggressively, finger placed flatly against his grimace, "Shh, dude! If you shout like that you'll wake him! I don't need a cranky Blasty in the middle of my episode. And his aggravation somehow always gets blamed on me!" he accuses his snickering friends before exhaling. "He goes to sleep at like eight and a half mostly but still acts like a demon if woken up early…"
"What did you just call me?" The crew whips their head to where Bakugou glares with droopy eyes, clearly been just woken up and is masking sleepiness. Kaminari goes pale,
"Are you shitting my—"
"He just said that it's amazing how energetic and ready you are even when being woken up in the early morning." Mina explains calmly. "You can go back to napping, Bakubaby."
Bakugou glowers at her as the rest are suffocatingly silently spectating before dragging his gaze to one quivering Kaminari. "The trick is to imagine all the free time you'll have the next morning when it's around past noon, so after you eat dinner you'll be more excited to go to sleep so you can arrive to the next day quickly… Another trick is to not be obsessed with your phone." he scoffs.
The other blond nods his head slowly, "Thanks, Kacchan. I'll take that to consideration." He will definitely not.
"Good. Only the best have the strength to go to bed early." Bakugou says with the most earnestness a teenager can have while saying that sentence, which is apparently a lot.
"Manly…" Kirishima murmurs as Bakugou closes his eyes again and swiftly falls asleep once more.
Kaminari turns to Mina and silently mouths, "I love you." She winks.
He didn't expect to get into heroics, sure. He might be optimistic about his abilities, but that doesn't mean he can't accept reality.
Midoriya's eyes widen. So he was able to possibly pass the exams for the hero course without a Quirk, but Bakugou hadn't? What other explanation would he have to being so upset in this situation? He knows that the blond likes to compare them both more often than not. But that doesn't make sense – he'd imagine that in any universe Bakugou would be able to surpass any Midoriya out there. Maybe this other version of Midoriya didn't get into the heroics course either, since the meet up with All Might must have been different here. Anyways, he has no idea how to deal with the possibility that he might have become stronger than the blond teenager. It's exciting and eccentric but the unfamiliar idea has his stomach feeling all uncomfortable.
Is it because it's different than what Midoriya is used to and considers a neutrality – that Bakugou will always be stronger and more powerful than him – or that he's nervous about how the explosive boy will react. He wouldn't start bullying the other Midoriya at this point, would he? Would he be able to find a justification for harassing him like he had in the past? Or will he be more understanding and aware enough of his surroundings to see all the reasons to why harming someone will be a bad and unheroic idea. Maybe the fact that their old school seems to dislike him as much as the other Midoriya will mean he won't get away with any of it, and he'll fathom the consequences, or will be able to empathize too much to bring Midoriya the same fate he had in this universe.
But then again, getting everyone to agree on a shared enemy is one of the best ways to form a closer bond and likeness. Getting everyone to rile up on Midoriya might be the way Bakugou will insert himself as a part of their class.
He shakes his head furiously. No, no. He should stop making this about himself again. He should sympathize with onscreen Bakugou, not find reasons this might affect him. If he wanted to be so self-centered, he could have just gotten into less trouble and Mei's machine would have worked on him.
It's settled. He'll root for his friend to become better and achieve whatever goals he has in any present universe, no matter the consequences surrounding himself!
He'll find different ways to help everyone else. He'll become useful to hero society until he becomes famous enough to talk about issues surround Quirks and what they mean to people who enjoy sticking their noses in businesses that don't belong to them.
Everyone who agrees with him and has seen the side of this unfair abuse and discrimination will take this as their opportunity to speak up about the issue, and the more privileged will be informed of the harm they cause and will be guilt tripped by the masses to become, well, better. It's fucking pathetic. How the human race tends to make these same mistakes over and over and over the fuck again. One week of binging history books and it's clearer than newly bought glass.
It's infuriating, and just thinking about it has pressure building up in Katsuki's palms. He opens his fists and looks at them. Thanks to advanced medical treatment and the Quirks of today, his hands are mostly fine after his 'accident' a few months back, except for scars resembling explosions themselves in the center of both his palms. They look pretty cool, he guesses – as long no one asks where he got them from.
Learning his lesson, Shinsou simply points at the screen and nods.
Momo clasps her hands, "That's so heroic! Sacrificing yourself to open the door for the unfortunate to have the chance to become heroes and less marginalized in general is not a task many can handle! I understand why he feels so upset here if he couldn't pass, but I'm glad he can see the positive side."
"If only Bakugou was awake," Iida exclaims, "I could thank him deeply for bringing up these problems that are less touched on, and dealing with them maturely."
"Oh no…" Aoyama coos, "Too bad he's asleep so he can't hear all ton praise and spiels. A shame." Todoroki covers his mouth with a hand, hiding a smile.
Iida nods. "It is, unfortunately."
"Wow, Shou!" Yamada nudges the other teacher, "What are you teaching these kids?!"
"I'm not his teacher yet you overgrown Cockatoo."
Yamada laughs howling, slapping Aizawa on the shoulder, "I know!"
The tired teacher sighs. Is it bad to enjoy his problem children doing heroic things out of their own accord? It would be illogical to think so. He addresses the class, "There are many ways to do heroic things. Ever since being a pro hero became a career, society forgot that being a hero is subjective, and it's your actions that define you as a hero. As the old saying – not all heroes wear capes." There, he was teaching his students meaningful things, he thinks, as he sends Yamada a glare.
Meanwhile the class stares at their teacher in awe. Shouji sighs, "Sadly, the title of a professional hero seems to take away at heroes in general, and society doesn't give them as much attention and praise."
Shinsou lowers her head. "Guys, I can't take your arguments seriously if you keep using the word 'society'."
Tsu croaks, "Grow up."
He frowns at her. What's up with people brutally sassing him today, huh?
No, it isn't his U.A.'s entrance practical exam score that is upsetting him… He focuses on the cracks of the sidewalk, not stepping on them… He actually got them yesterday, and accepted it almost instantly, even if it made him disappointed…
But it's Izuku.
It always seems to be, Aizawa thinks, surpassing an eye roll, that it fits.
Uraraka squints.
He got in the heroics course with flying numbers.
And, fuck. Katsuki would be happy, he fucking should. But he got in with a Quirk.
Only now, after the scores were sent, did Izuku tell him at school that he got his Quirk the day of the entrance exam. And again, he would be fucking happy. If he didn't feel so fucking hurt. It's astonishing, really – how he realized at that moment, when they were standing in the boys' bathroom alone so no one could hear, that the awe of it all was subsided with Katsuki's shock at realizing how much at that moment he wanted to do nothing else but slap Izuku right across his face and see him fall on the gross floor of the bathroom, tripping on the urinals at the slim corridor, and leave.
Midoriya feels his heart sink. Strangely enough, Bakugou had never slapped him. He punched and blasted and threatened, but never slapped. Midoriya would choose having One for All so he can be a hero that saves others over anything, so he doesn't regret his decision, and he hopes other Midoriya doesn't regret it either. Though he also wishes him luck from Bakugou, because frankly, Midoriya doesn't know what to expect at this point from him.
Uraraka groans angrily, "How is that a thought that would ever accrue to anyone?! And especially when he just tells you that he had gotten a Quirk?!"
Kirishima sighs. "At least he said it came as a big shock…?"
And that fucking thought terrified him,
The room sighs out collectively,
So as he does best, Katsuki just acted like it was all fine and ran away, going back home early. At this point, it's nothing new from him.
"Bakugou would be disgusted with the carelessness shown," Todoroki comments. It seems that even Bakugou is benefiting from Bakugou being asleep. Both of them.
"It's better than the other option, certainly." Satou says.
Midoriya nods wistfully. He just wishes any one of them had a person they could talk to with all of it. Each other would have been the ideal solution, but since Bakugou is mad at him, that's not an option currently.
Katsuki presses a thumb onto his palm to rid of the pressure as he breathes deeply. Izuku isn't an idiot. They both know what that reaction was…
What happened to getting through this together? Being the first Quirkless duo? If Izuku is going to be a great hero with a supposedly super powerful Quirk that can destroy massive killer robots, what does that do to people like Katsuki, who have shitty, evil Quirks that do no good? What would that change? Everyone will praise Izuku for his amazing Quirk, claiming it's the reason he is such great pro hero, setting the bar higher for what a successful hero should look like, and making the gap between that and Quirkless heroes larger.
"I don't think that's the reason Deku is such a great hero!" Uraraka says, "Yes, his Quirk is powerful and helpful, but it's his heart and hard work that really puts the mark!"
Midoriya blushes, reminded of what All Might said after he had saved Bakugou from the sludge villain… but this time focusing entirely on his determination and want, instead his Quirk or lack thereof. What did he do to deserve such great friends…? He might actually cry. "T-Thank you, Uraraka… I am glad I have my Quirk so I can save as much people as possible, but I do wish someone will be able to show everyone what others with less fortunate Quirks can really do if they put the work into it!"
Aizawa does his best to surpass a smile while he listens to his students discuss and acknowledge what is truly important to be a hero.
Finally, Katuski passes a small rock to kick, but it just fumbles to the side of the road and not straight to the sky and out of space like he had hoped. He knows that Izuku will still do his best to support him and people that are still stuck in the bottom of society, but will it have the same effect? A successful person lecturing others about the importance of caring and treating the unfortunate will only look condescending to the people who need help. Humans value their pride and respect more than help, they'll even refuse it if it's from someone who represents everything they're against.
But that's fine. That's why Katsuki is here, isn't he? Maybe he had to fail the practical entrance exam so that Izuku will have a chance. Maybe Izuku had gotten a Quirk with miracle timing so Katsuki can be a representative his people will want when Izuku is famous enough to speak out on the problem.
Kaminari clutches at his chest, making a noise akin to a dying puppy, "Stop it…! You're gonna kill me…!"
"Remember when Mina was an alien and Bakugou took care of her like a single dad?" Sero questions, a tired grin flashing on his face. "That was nice."
"These are getting progressively sadder!" Mina agrees, pouting, "Why must you have it so Detonation Massacre's whining is correct?" She shakes a fist. Give him a good and happy life, damn it. This is getting less and less funnier by the week.
Still. He feels betrayed. And fucking, hurt. They're going to end up at the same school, but in different classes. He knows that it's going to be awkward, and he hates it. He's just fucking mad…
"Ka-tsu-ki an-gel~!"
Katsuki whips his head around shortly after someone sings his first name. The first thought his mind jumps to after spotting the person is Izuku, but another second passes by and it's clear that the boy skipping cheerily towards him is a complete stranger, only a look alike. "Do I fucking know you?"
"That must be Toga then!" Midoriya calls out before scribbling the description of the stranger in his notebook – though there's not much to describe. He does look eerily similar to him. Embarrassingly enough, even he had thought it was him for a split moment; his stomach dropping in dread before realizing that it is in fact someone else, making him feel a little nauseous. But that boy seems to be wearing the same uniform Toga was wearing when she spoke to Quirkless Bakugou in the forest, only the male version of course…
"Is that why she was so obsessed with you at camp?" Shouji speculates, "Because you remind her of… this person?"
Midoriya hums, pinching his lip as he writes unorganized notes, "I'm not sure…" He had the impression that she only attacked her or the league's enemies, so was this boy a threat to her at her old school? Now that he thinks about it, perhaps this is the 'accident' she had mentioned earlier? "She drank her old schoolmate's blood," he mutters subconsciously, "And she seemed desperate to get some of my blood only by my looks before Shouji saved me, meaning that she probably desired to drink this boy's blood too but she earlier described that she couldn't 'control it', meaning that much like Kacchan, she hurt someone due to the nature of her Quirk and then ran away from school, unless she's lying about holding it back since she doesn't seem to have a problem using her Quirk right now to look like him…" He trails off as Aoyama places a calm hand on his stiff shoulder,
"You're muttering, mon amie." He places a delicate finger over his own lips and winks, sparkling.
"Sorry!"
"You don't recognize me?" the boy giggles, before… melting…? Katsuki takes a few cautious steps back, his hands held up and his gaze skirting from side to side, hoping desperately that if anyone witnesses this shit, they won't accuse him of liquefying this fucker.
"Hey— What the hell?!" But then he morphs and changes. Katsuki looks away again as his clothes disintegrate, "Oi, what the fuck do you think you're doing—?!"
"Ta-da!" a completely different voice hails, and he turns his head to meet the gleeful and sincere eyes of that girl from all those months ago, that he met at the forest… now with space buns… and a different uniform…
Did she change schools? Good for her.
"What do you think you're doing!?" he snaps anyways, completely forgetting about the entire reason he was mad at the first place, "You can't just use your Quirk out in public!"
"You'd think she'd be less careless," Mei comments, spinning a pretzel around her finger as she takes a break from a project – sorry, a baby – she's working on quietly at the back of the room, "Especially after she seemed to have stolen a school's uniform." She has to stop herself from trailing off, her mind already throwing ideas for babies Mei could come up using Toga's Quirk.
"She's very bold…" Uraraka mumbles, only half grumbling.
"Eh, it's noon, so no one's here to see – and who cares, really?" the girl shrugs. What was her name? Did she ever tell him? "Oh wait, you're going to be a hero right? You're not going to tattle on me, are you, Katsuki? I didn't mean to, I just thought that pranking you would be funny!" she pleads, fingers entangled.
Katsuki sighs, rubbing his temple. "It's fine, just. Don't fucking do it again, yeah?"
She hums, "I'll try…" They stand in silence awkwardly for a few moments, Katsuki already being reminded of their first encounter, before she asks rather nervously, "So… what did you think?"
"A girl threatened me with her Quirk at school and I was the only one who had gotten into trouble." he says. That's his experience with illegal Quirk usage, alright.
"What – n-no! I meant, what do you think of my Quirk…?" she fiddles with her fingers anxiously, golden eyes jumping from Katsuki to the sidewalk and back.
Uraraka groans, munching on a salty chip. Can this bitch stop contradicting her?
"The sad thing is that if she was to use her Quirk for the better than worse, it would be fairly decent." Iida says.
"It's a really cool Quirk…" Midoriya agrees. There are so many questions he would like to ask Toga about it, if only she wasn't a villain and all. Why do the clothes change as well, if she drinks blood? The DNA doesn't change with your clothes. There's so many villains with interesting Quirks Midoriya would love to dissect further, but alas. "The way she uses it is the real problem, of course."
"Uhm, what is your Quirk anyways…?"
"I can transform to look like other people after I consume their blood!"
"Transformation? That's – wait, blood?!" She grins sheepishly. "Well…" Katsuki clears his throat, kicking the floor, "As long as you get permission for it… and not by force, right?"
"So you think it's okay…?" she confirms slowly.
"It's okay to have a Quirk," he shrugs, giving her a bored look before adding, "Say… Last time we met you said you had a 'Quirk accident' or something like that, right? Mind me asking what happened?" He raises a skeptic eyebrow.
"What will it be, Toga?" Sero murmurs, squinting.
"Let's see her get out of this." Mina scoffs.
The girl giggles and steps forward, grabbing Katsuki's elbow and spinning them around so they're going the original direction he was heading, and he guesses he lets her,
"Nooo," Kaminari whines, "Slap her or something! Stop!"
Kirishima droops into his bean bag pillow, "This universe feels like something constantly bad is going to happen and I hate it."
"And this is after Bakubro had already exploded his hands, so you know it's going to be bad!" Mina adds.
"My Quirk has it so I'm naturally drawn to blood, which seriously creeped out my parents." She turns her head away, frowning sadly at the ground, "So they would make sure I would keep it secret, even if I was fine with just animal's blood! But it's a part of me! So after years of pretending I'm fine when something that was built into me was missing, I cracked, and like a starved wolf, I hurt this boy without thinking! So I could drink his blood, and ran away. And hungry wolves are so not cute!" she finishes off with tears in her eyes threatening to spill as Katsuki does his best to not stumble, blatantly staring at her with probably a dumbfounded expression.
"So let me recap," Uraraka spits bitterly, "Her parents didn't let her drink blood so she like, stabbed a kid?"
"It is a part of her Quirk…" Todoroki contradicts, playing devil's advocate, "If it's really like she said, would be the same feeling of being starved but unable to die from it, then is it really any surprise that after years of hiding and suppressing this natural side of her she cannot control that she flips? Hurting someone is never ideal, but the blame should go to the parents in my opinion, for not handling her needs and finding a solution rather than making her suffer."
Uraraka's increasingly angrier voice wavers as she stands up from the couch, "What? She's evil! Does it matter if she can control it or not? She's doing it because she's an evil villain! She didn't attack us because of her Quirk, did she?!"
"You're right – the nature of her Quirk or her parents' neglect doesn't justify her actions now. But you have to admit that if she was provided with a solution to her Quirk's drawbacks, and wasn't forced to hide her Quirk for being too quote unquote 'creepy', the chance of her becoming a villain in the first place would have been significantly lesser."
Uraraka exhales shakenly. "There's never a good explanation to stabbing someone in the leg and sucking their blood—!"
"There isn't," Shinsou cuts in, slightly glaring at her, "I understand that you're biased, but not recognizing the severity of what Quirk discrimination can do to a person, no matter how they deal with it, is harmful in of itself."
Uraraka's face goes red to the point her pink cheeks blend with the rest of it, tears forming in her eyes as she lets out a frustrated groan, "I—!"
"That's enough." Aizawa cuts in, standing up. "Uraraka, if you require a break, maybe it's best you step outside."
Uraraka suppresses another growl and instead crosses her shaking hands, closing her eyes tight and breathing deeply. "Ochaco?" Tsu murmurs, placing a hand on her friend's elbow.
"I'm sorry." she mutters instead, "This was stupid. I'll go outside." And with that, she quickly walks towards the hallway leading to the exit, Tsu following her without a second thought.
"U-Uraraka!" Midoriya exclaims, standing up and clutching his notebook before Aizawa lifts a hand to signal him to stop.
"I'll go talk to her. Just stay inside, and make sure the other teachers are actually doing their jobs," he says as he sends a glare to Yamada and Kayama, the latter inappropriately whispering 'Drama!' just in time. "I'll be back in a few minutes, continue enjoying the… show."
"I can't have everyone leaving!" Mei shouts, "I worked hard for my baby and you're not bailing now!"
"Hah… okay." Midoriya sighs before sitting back down while Aizawa exits the room.
"I may have been too harsh." Shinsou mumbles sadly.
Todoroki shakes his head. "No – like him or hate him, he's spitting straight facts…" he recites quite awkwardly. Still, Shinsou looks at him with stars in his eyes and nods, the other students assuring him too.
