Why was Annabeth acting so weird yesterday? Was it all acting? Let's find out.

Annabeth

I woke up and looked around. This wasn't the Athena cabin. I was in the Poseidon cabin! How did I get here? The last thing I remembered was going to bed in cabin 6. And now I was with Percy in his cabin. Then, there was another, more recent memory, clouded from sleep. Percy saying something about waffles being pancakes with abs. So I was here since at least two am. I looked to the side. Oh gods, I was in his bed. With him! What had happened? Next to his face, there was a dark spot on his pillow. I guess some things never change.

When I got up, I stepped into a puddle of water with some ice shards in it. Why can't Percy ever clean up anything? In this case, he wouldn't even have needed to get up. He could have cleaned up with just his thoughts, but apparently, even that was too much to ask. I walked over to his bathroom (Thank the gods for whoever came up with giving each cabin its own bathroom. Oh, wait, that was me). When I came back and sat on his bed, he started to wake up. Perfect time for an interrogation. Ok, that sounded like Percy was my enemy or a criminal. I guess that's just my brain being hard-wired for battle strategy.

"How did I get here?" I asked. "I went to bed in my cabin yesterday and now I'm here. Or was that yesterday? What day is it now?" "First of all, it's the fourth, three days after the battle" That was good. I really didn't like losing days of my life. "And why am I here?" "Oh, so yesterday evening, you appeared at the door and asked if you could come inside. But the weird thing was that you acted really childish. And I don't just mean you always wanted things your way with no regard for the consequences or other people's interests, like certain other people." He looked up at the ceiling as he said that. "I mean that if there was a blind person present, they would not have been able to tell you weren't 7 or 8" I didn't know what I had expected to hear, but this wasn't it. "You let me in, what next?" "You told me about monsters and spiders, I assume you had a flashback. When you were done telling me, you didn't want to go back to your cabin, so I let you sleep here." "Ok, that's weird" "And it gets weirder" OMGs, what was coming now "I called you 'Annie' once and you didn't even mind" I laughed. I had been expecting something more serious. Actually, now that I thought about it, this was quite weird. Usually, calling me Annie would have resulted in an unpleasant encounter with my knife. Especially during the time after the titan war, when he had born the curse of Achilles.

"Now there is only one question left to answer. Well, two questions technically. Why did I act like a first grader and why don't I remember it?" "My guess is as good as yours. I never thought I'd say that. In other words: no zeussing clue." "Zeussing?" "Yes, cause all Zeus ever does is, uh, get to know people on a very intimate level, if you know what I mean"

He seemed to think about it for a few seconds. Or maybe he was just thinking about pancakes with abs. You never know with him. "I mean, it probably has to do with your trauma. But other than that, no idea" "My trauma? Why do you think that?" "Well, the first time you changed like that was also after a flashback" What was he talking about? Had I become a child before? "It was in the lake. Your voice sounded different, a bit like mine. But there was something else mixed in as well, I think. You only said 'what happened' and nothing else, so I'm not sure. The next thing you said was something about pretty fish and by then, your voice was back to normal"

I tried to remember what had happened in the lake. We went down, the lights got dimmer. The next thing I remembered was looking at a swarm of fish from inside the bubble. "The memory loss also fits. I remember going down, and then looking at some fish. How much did I miss?" "Idk, maybe like ten minutes. Like I said, you had a flashback and then we didn't talk for a few minutes, then you were back to normal" "Well, at least I didn't miss too much. But still, what is going on with my brain" "Ok, this might surprise you, but I don't know" I pretended to be shocked. "You, the all-knowing seaweed brain, don't know the answer. This is truly shocking."

"Percy, we're eating" Frank Suddenly shouted from outside the door. "I would come in, but I've learned my lesson" I gave the only logical answer: "Don't worry Frank, I'm not here." Yeah, I was a bit confused from what had happened, so my answer didn't really make a lot of sense. "Then I guess you get ready for breakfast and then I'll see you there. I opened the door and looked outside. The campers were still on their way to the dining pavilion. I ran over to the other Athena kids and tried to blend in. Unfortunately, all of them were, well, Athena kids. But when I reached them, they were all talking to each other chaotically, almost panicking and looked like they had been up since way to early. There was only one thing that could bring this much turmoil to my cabin. A spider. My suspicions were confirmed when I heard someone talking about 8 eyes. I looked back at cabin 3 and saw Percy step out of the door. "Hey seaweed brain" I shouted in his direction. Come over here. Your in laws need you" Technically, my family wouldn't become his in laws until we got married. Did I already consider us married? Could this be considered a proposal? Was I overthinking this. I could only answer the last question: a definite yes. By the time I had finished thinking, Percy had already arrived.

"Ok, wise girls and guys, what's the problem?" "There's a spider inside. It's at least this big" Malcolm showed about the size of a coin. "Seen bigger" he said. "like 100 times bigger. And I killed that one too" Just thinking about Arachne made me shudder. The other didn't take it much better. "Great, you're a professional spider killer. Now how about you go inside and kill that thing" "Sure, let me just get my equipment" A small sphere of water came up from the direction of the lake and followed him into cabin 6. After about thirty seconds, he came back out, in his hand a small globe of water, inside it the beast that had terrorized my siblings for hours. "Well" he said to the ball of water "Time to die" The sphere collapsed, killing the spider inside. Well, I don't know if it actually died, but it stopped moving. He then made the water disappear, dropping the spider on the ground. "Anyone wanna stomp it?" Percy asked. After a few seconds of silence, a young girl stepped forward. I didn't recognize her, so she must have had arrived at camp while I had been away on the Argo II. She stomped on the spider a couple of times until it was completely destroyed.

As the rest of my cabin went back inside to get a few more hours of sleep, Percy and I made our way to the dining pavilion. I couldn't remember the last time I had been the only one on my table, even in the winter the year-rounders were still there. "Annabeth, do you know where your siblings are?" Chiron asked me. "There was a spider in our cabin and they missed multiple hours of sleep, so they're still tired" "Ah, and how come you aren't tired" There was no point in lying. This centaur had known me since I was seven. "I was with Percy. I don't even remember going to his cabin." "Well then, I guess I'll see your siblings later. Enjoy your breakfast. Oh, and in the future, please refrain from spending the night in other cabins, especially alone with a boy"

After breakfast, Percy came walking towards me. "Annabeth, I just remembered something. I was so busy with the war and now with repairing camp, that I totally forgot to visit my mom. For all she knows, I might still be in Canada, with only a fraction of my memories." "Well, then I guess we should do that right now. I'll just get some ambrosia and nectar from the Infirmary, I think her supply is running out and I'm probably the main reason for it." When I came back with supplies, Percy had already gotten Mrs. O'Leary . "Get on here wise girl. We're going home"

Mrs. O'Leary left the shadows in front of the Jackson's apartment. I told Percy about my plan (You can't just visit your mom without a proper plan): "Ok, so you put on the Yankees cap and I ring. I'll tell Sally I've got ambrosia supplies and a surprise. When we're inside you take it off to reveal yourself and everyone is happy" As I talked, I grabbed the cap out of my bag and gave it to Percy

So, how will Sally react to her lost son returning? And what about his tattoo? It's certainly going to be an interesting conversation. Also, sorry for not posting on time, but then again, it's not like anyone actually cares about this. Next chapter will probably be on time again, or maybe a day later, but after that I'll be back on track.
