When we arrived at camp, everyone was already starting to have lunch. We got of Mrs. O'Leary and joined the rest of camp half blood. Well, and camp Jupiter. After attacking us, they at least wanted to help undo the damage. When Gaia had risen here, she had seriously messed up the landscape, and Hazel made reverting it back to normal about 100 times faster. Judging by the remaining hills, they'd probably leave tomorrow or the day after that.
The rest the day was quite uneventful, until Clarisse make a suggestion: "how about we play a game of capture the flag. Greeks versus Romans. You know, as a sign of peace between the camps" I didn't really see how that would show peace, but I guess Ares logic works like that. We all agreed to the game, but decided that it was too late already to start now and to have it tomorrow. Well, more time to discuss our strategy.
We spent the rest of the day with training ("How is training still necessary, I've been to literal hell") and whatever else needed to be done around camp ("The Pegasus stables don't clean themselves and Percy can't just take some seashells and summon an ocean to wash them out every day!") Even without any sort of charm speak, Clarisse was still very good at telling people what to do. She then added an "I mean, he probably could, but I doubt he wants to" She was right, being a demigod with water powers sounds great in theory, and it is great during battles, but in practice, it usually looks like this:
Random camper: Hey Percy, can you clean this up
Me: Why don't you do it, you're responsible for this mess
Camper: But it'll take me like an hour to do it, you can do it in thirty seconds
Me: Fine, I'll do it.
At least that's what it was like in the beginning, but after my quest to rescue Annabeth and Artemis, people started to notice that I was really powerful and annoying me probably wasn't so smart, so they stopped doing it. And now, even Clarisse was defending me. I think she stopped telling me to do stuff after I blew up Mount St. Helens. That might potentially have impressed her.
I saw Jason and Piper running walking towards me. Based on her face, Piper had just had an idea. "Hey Percy, can you control blood?" she asked. Weird way to start a conversation but okay. "Well, I've never tried it, and since a few weeks ago, I try to not control anything that is still in someone's body, especially not if Annabeth is around, why are you asking?" "Because I can" She whispered something into Jason's ear, which did indeed control his blood, moving it straight to his face. "Who knew a child of Aphrodite could control blood? I could probably do that same thing with Annabeth, but otherwise, like I said, I've never tried it. I mean, it's not like I have blood available to try it out on."
We parted ways and continued with our normal camp routine. Before I knew it, the day was over and it was time to go to bed. I went over to Annabeth. "Good night wise girl. Do you think you can manage a night without turning into a child?" I asked, jokingly, but I also made sure to do it quietly enough so no one would hear. "I think I'll manage" She responded. "But even if I don't, I don't think Chiron would be too happy about me spending another night at your cabin. Anyways, good night Seaweed Brain. See you hopefully tomorrow" I didn't know if she meant 'I hope I don't see you again today, or at least not under the same circumstances as yesterday evening' or 'I hope I'll see you tomorrow and you won't disappear for half a year' or both, but did it really matter? Probably not. I went to bed and by the next morning, I had already forgotten about it.
After breakfast, we decided that the romans would go to the southern part of the forest while we would get the north. "Remember, no killing, no mutilation " Chiron reminded us. Then we began. I knew this wouldn't be an easy battle. We had Annabeth's strategy on our side, but the other camp had Reyna on theirs. Plus they had about twice as many people on their side. Who would win this game? Well, only time would tell. Now, it was time for battle.
Whoa, look, another cliffhanger (sorta). I feel like I'm getting better at torturing my audience and isn't that what every Rick Riordan fan aspires to do? Anyways, see you on Monday. And don't worry, I will get back to the Trauma, I just didn't want the story to rush through it. Also, who doesn't like a good game of Capture the Flag?
