Outside the Dungeon City Orario

Beneath the mid-day sun, a boy was quietly trekking through the hillsides outside the City of Orario, stopping every once in a while to check a small compass before finally pausing.

'This is it…Orario.' He nodded to himself, snapping the compass shut as he looked up at the great cities walls through his tinted goggles. Stowing the compass away in his bag, he proceeded to slide down the hillside and onto the main Orario road.

As he quietly slid onto the main road, he couldn't help but stare. The city of Orario, it was viewed in many different lights across the world. Some regarded it as the capital of the world, a place of rare goods and riches for anyone brave enough to seek them out. Others believed it was a hive of wildmen and debauchery. Nonetheless, regardless of your opinion of the city, everyone agreed on one thing, Orario would make or break you.

Sighing quietly, the boy approached the gate of the city and approached the small guardbox to the side of the gate.

"State your name and buisness." The guard asked in a monotone.

"Silber Perdix, just a tinkerer hoping to start a business here in Orario." The boy finally looked up at the guard, and for a brief moment, the sun shone just right so that one could catch of glimpse of blood red eyes behind the goggles.

Level 5, Orario Dungeon

'Ohcrapohcrapohcrap!' Was the only thought in Bell Cranel's mind as he desperately dodged a fist from the Minotaur, only missing it by centimeters.

Panting, he rolled around a corner only to find-

A dead end.

'This is it…' Bell nervously turns to look back at the Minotaur, now slowly closing in on him, as if confident he couldn't get away, which realistically - he couldn't.

He squealed as he dropped down to dodge a fist that created a crater in the section of wall where his head was moments before. Raising his hands up in a protective gesture, he could only await a second blow.

'I'm dead…' Bell thought sadly as the Minotaur raised a fist to finish off the beleaguered adventurer.

Without warning, a slicing sound could be heard as Bell peaked through his hands to watch as the Minotaurs outstretched arm as lopped off at the shoulder.

'...What?' Bell thought in confusion, only for three more strikes in rapid succession to bring down the Minotaur, and in a mix of blood and smoke, the Minotaur let out one dying scream before vanishing, leaving only it's magic stone behind.

As blood rained down on Bell, he could only helplessly stare at his savior, a girl with blonde hair and yellow-golden eyes.

"Uhm…" The girl approached him, "Are you alright?"

After getting through the gate Guard, Silber consulted his map of Orario.

'According to this map…the Guild building should be somewhere around here.' He looked straight ahead, and stared at an elaborately decorated manse-like building.

'Seems like it.' Silber rolled up the map and approached the building, only to hear a sudden shouting from behind him.

Silber almost choked on a laugh when he saw what was behind him.

An adventurer was drenched in still-wet monster blood, splattering it all around him as he ran down the street coming from Babel.

'What died on him?' Silber wondered, only for the adventurer to run past him and splatter blood all over his clothes.

'Oh sunuvabitch.' Silber thought disgustedly, dabbing at the blood, he sighed as his attempts to clean his shirt only spread the blood around.

'Damn it…' He sighed and proceeded inside the Guild headquarters.

"So you're offering your services as an inventor?" A guildswoman asked of him,

"Yes." Silber nodded,

"I see." The woman sighed, "I can't exactly say we aren't in need of your talents, but you have to understand, you entered Orario today. Not to mention, it isn't the Guild that employs people like yourself."

"...they aren't?" Silber leaned forward, and raised an eyebrow, and the woman rolled her eyes. 'He really is a foreigner…'

"No. I honestly suggest joining the Hephaistos Familia for that. They make most of the weapons within the city."

"...I see." Silber nodded,

"I'll try to get in contact with Hephaistos for you, but it's really up to-" The guildswoman was about to finish when a knock came from the door.

"Yo~!" A female voice called,

"Speak of the devil…" The guildswoman muttered, "Seems you're in luck, Mr. Perdix."

Hephaistos waited as the guildswoman opened the door for her.

"Hephaistos-sama, I'm surprised, normally Gods don't make trips to the guild themselves." The guildswoman said,

"Everyone is somewhat busy right now." Hephaistos said dismissively, "And I figured I could take on some menial tasks, I don't want to spend all day in my estate. Anyway, enough chat, I came to pick up a new materials shipment. Got anything for me Karen?"

"Let's see…Loki Familia just brought in a hefty batch of magic stones." Karen nodded, "Oh~ and I almost forgot. Mr. Perdix!"

'Perdix?' Hephaistos cocked her head curiously, and the boy came to the doorway.

"Hephaistos, this is Silber Perdix, he claims to be a inventor, looking for employment within Orario."

"An inventor?" Hephaistos scanned the boy, with silver hair and tinted quartz goggles. 'He kind of looks like…' Hephaistos shook her head.

"Boy. You said you wanted to work for my Familia?" Hephaistos leaned into him, and the boy nodded.

"I see…you realize I can't just let anyone into my Familia? You need to show some kind of worth." Hephaistos said, and Silber nodded.

Hephaistos stared at him for a few seconds, before nodding. "Very well. Karen, I'll borrow him for a day."

Karen seemed perplexed at first, but nodded with understanding. "Very well."

"...excuse me?" Silber asked confusedly, and turned to stare at Karen, who nodded.

"Follow me." Hephaistos said simply, and Silber - still completely out of the loop - followed her.

The pair walked in silence for a few minutes before Hephaistos finally began to speak.

"Alright kid. If you want to get into my Familia, I need you to do this for me. You have one day to craft a new weapon. Sword, knife, bow, et cetera. I'll provide you with materials, don't worry. However, it can't be a roughshod job, it has to be decent. Not just something you slapdash together to pass." Hephaistos explained, before she paused briefly and finally turned to look at him fully.

"Think you can do it?" Hephaistos asked,

Silber inhaled, before looking Hephaistos in the eye. "Yes, I can."

"Also, if you fail, you need to pay me back. Got it?"

"Yes ma'am."

"Another thing...you should probably get some new clothes." Hephaistos pointed awkwardly at the bloodstains on his shirt, looking down at them, Silber sighed and nodded.
