"It's almost dawn... I have to stay sharp. I have a score to settle with him."
Joseph muttered, walking through the entrance to Fight Island, with a pit of sharp spikes for training, as he sees his instructor, Loggins, dead on the might of his enemy, the pillar-man Esidisi.
"Is that... Instructor Loggins? How horrible, he's dead!"
Joseph yelled, the pillar man looked towards the other tower, and knew the location of the stone and the guardian with it.
"To think the woman that was guarding the stone is just an island over..."
The pillar-man drops the dead Loggins to the ground. Joseph inspects the cause and sees a large hole in Loggins' chest.
"His lungs were taken out. They're vital for Hamon users. It has to be just one swift kick. You had been a tyrant at training us for three weeks, and I thought I could get back at you. There's no time. Please, Instructor, watch over me and guide me to defeat Esidisi."
Joseph mumbled, as he looked over the pillar man heading slowly to the next island. Joseph concentrated his breath and was able to walk on sharp spikes, while the feet of the pillar-man were pierced, though the pillar-man showed no signs of agony.
"Edisidi. You're six days early, that antidote for the ring in your nose is mine!"
"Out of my way weakling. I don't have time to have my way fighting you."
"Time? You have a lot more time than me!"
"So as you say. But when somebody looks stupidly confident in my way, they're asking to die."
Joseph puts his finger on Esidisi's palm, piercing it, but gets his hand stuck deliberately.
"Surprising skill, but yet, you are very far from fighting against me, for I have fought and devoured countless hamon warriors 2,000 years ago. If I can twist your fingers, you won't be able to use it anymore!"
Esidisi was prepared to break Joseph's index finger, but Joseph jumped on an angle where his finger wouldn't break and wrapped a fine silk string around Esidisi's arm.
"You still haven't noticed? That's a silk thread all over your arm!"
"A thread?! Since when did he..."
Esidisi looked for the lengthy thread's end, where Loggins' finger was tied to it.
"It's a bit horrifying for a trick, but the first blood comes from Instructor Loggins and the second from me!"
Joseph channels hamon throughout the string, and since silk is very conductive to it, it finely chops off Esidisi's arm, but before he saw it flying, with the blink of his eye, Joseph was warped to another place.
What the- Is this an illusion trick?! That Esidisi...!"
Soon trying to vent out his frustration, his partner, Caesar came down from the trees and Lisa Lisa, along with the stone, came to regroup.
"Jojo, where are we? I was so close of beating Instructor Messina but then I was at the sky, falling. I luckily grabbed on the branches and fall softly. "
"The same thing too. But when I went to Fight Island, Loggins was already dead by Esidisi, and I was in the middle of fighting him... It was a moment close, dammit!"
"Esidisi appeared...? They were after the stone after all and they won't stop..."
The trio looked at their surroundings, the trees full of cobwebs, the air reeked of unimaginable smell.
"What the hell is this place anyway?! Why all of the sudden we are warped in the middle of a forest at night?!"
"Jojo, calm down! I know you're frustrated because Loggins died and Esidisi probably escaped but still, get a goddamn grip!"
"Caesar, Jojo, be quiet. Something dangerous is in the woods. The smell is really nauseating and those cobwebs sure is not natural to be this much."
Lisa Lisa replied, slightly nervous of what would happen to them. Was this a trap by the pillar men who had more powers than they expected? It can't be true, right? Joseph spotted a boy crying in pain in some kind of uniform.
"Over there, Sensei, Caesar. We gotta help him out!"
Stay vigilant Jojo, this could be another illusion or so-"
The boy suddenly yelled in agony before turning in fear at the three Hamon Masters, before screaming;
"DON'T COME NEAR ME PLEASE! I'M NOT IN CONTROL WITH MY BODY, EVERYTHING HURTS AND I'VE UNCONSCIOUSLY KILLED MY OWN COMRADES!"
Joseph halted, he looked in terror, Caesar looking closely at how severe the wound was, and saw web strings attached to the boy's body.
"Jojo, look closely! He's right, there are strings all over the place around his body, making whoever the puppeteer have absolute control. Don't rush things Jojo or you'll get hurt dammit!"
" I'm thinking, shut up! I knew there were strings, those wounds has a lot of impact on his agonizing body, but we can't leave him in this state-"
The boy was controlled against his will; he grabbed a sword and randomly slashed at Joseph. Though it was not accurate, a hit could incapacitate Joseph.
"Caesar, Jojo, there's two more people controlled by those strings, we'll have to make a plan to free them and heal them up!"
Joseph nodded, as he leapt towards the air to dodge the sword and channels Hamon on his hands, creating electric sparks coiling on his arms with full energy.
"Hamon Breathing, Overdrive!"
Joseph cleanly cuts the threads controlling the boy, Caesar leaping towards him to catch and soften the boy's fall.
"Are you alright? Can you move your own body now?"
The boy was too scared, but he managed to respond to Caesar's concern, staying slightly calm.
" I-I think so... But there are more others, please don't hurt them!"
Caesar slowly took a deep breathing, before his hands became full of electric-like coils around his arms, the energy transfered towards the boy, enhancing the speed of recovery to the point of fixing broken bones in mere seconds. Caesar looked towards Lisa Lisa, signalling he successfully recovered the boy and yelled;
"Sensei, you're up!"
Lisa Lisa leapt in the air, accurately cutting the threads and catching both two people to soften their fall. Seems like they're in immense pain like the boy earlier.
"Astonishing... They made a new breathing to cut those tough threads..."
The boy uttered under his breath with new hope in his eyes.
Lisa Lisa healed up the two injured slayers and proceeded to scout the weird cobwebbed forest, until she saw a white lady with her hands having threads and making puppet-like movements to control slayers against their will.
"There's the suspect, but I feel going closer means bad business..."
Lisa Lisa thought of some ways to eliminate the demon, before signalling Joseph and Caesar to move ahead. Caesar looked at trees riddled with cobwebs, while Joseph was slightly coughing because of the stink smell.
"Watch out for traps Jojo. We have to get close nonetheless."
Caesar muttered at Joseph, before attempting to sneak towards the lady puppeteer, but alas they got noticed, as the demon lady with weird tattoos slowly turned her head towards them.
"What's with the weird fashion sense you two have? Well it doesn't matter anyway, since you two, WILL DIE AS FOOD FOR MY FAMILY-"
Joseph without hesitation, threw two clacker volleys, one almost hitting the demon, and the second flying away.
"Oh no!"
Joseph held his face with a surprised look, as Caesar facepalmed at Joseph's attempt.
"It'll be great if it could even hit the hostile lady over there Jojo!"
The demon laughed at Joseph's 'failure', and before the demon unleashes an incapacitating attack, the clacker volley that flew away came back, hitting the demon on the neck, near decapitation.
"That's my clacker boomerang!"
"Nice hit Jojo!"
The demon was shocked at first, looking confused as to how she wasn't able to regenerate her head back.
"H-How... It wasn't even made from the scarlet ore those pathetic slayers used... It burns too... DAMMIT!"
The demon lady growled with fury, before she lost it, sending numerous sharp cutting threads towards both Jojo and Caesar. Though the two effortlessly used Hamon to cut through. She was bewildered at how they cut through with bare hands.
"I-Impossible.. What kind of power is this?! Even himself doesn't know about this!"
Joseph lunged through and spun, his clacker volley, dodging incoming threads, the demon panicking, and the last thing she saw was her vision on the ground, in burning pain. Seems Joseph has succeeded in beheading her.
"I had a feeling we have to behead these kind of monsters or they'll come back like those pillar men. Caesar, look for survivors, we gotta heal them up."
Caesar groaned in annoyance, before looking at Lisa Lisa and sighed.
"I don't like following orders but nonetheless, I have to do it."
The three patched up the survivors just in case, until they were approached by ninja like medics.
"Woah, are you guys ninjas? Doesn't seem like from the movies though..."
Joseph looked in both amusement and disappointment, before the kakushi grabbed two of the survivors and checked their state, as Gotou stepped forward to check their state.
"We're the Kakushi, are you guys injured?"
"Do we look injured to you?"
Caesar replied with an annoyed face at Gotou, who also seemed to be slightly agitated at his tone, as Joseph's mask fall off with a little cut across his face.
"Geez, my sexy face slashed by that spooky monster's thread."
The Kakushi stared in confusion, and proceeded to extract the survivors back towards safety, as Gotou sighed in relief there were survivors around, before looking at the three hamon users.
"You three, come with us. I know one of you killed a demon and they have to know who was it."
"Demon? Those were demons? I thought they were vampires or zombies." Joseph scratched his head with confusion, thinking demons had horns or spooky faces.
"Yeah yeah, we'll explain, just follow us." Gotou replied, wondering how they don't know the existence of demons despite killing one.
"Lead the way, uh, your name?" Joseph asked.
"Call me Gotou. Now hurry and stay quiet."
The three followed the Kakushi group down the mountains along with the survivors.
...
Sometime later, at an unknown abandoned area, three people emerged from a warped portal.
(I always kept wondering in the back of my mind, that Hamon is basically the sun breathing, but overly more versatile and powerful, and i asked myself; If hamon works on vampires, zombies and the Pillar Man, would it work on demons?
Feel free to review and correct me on some mistakes i've made on my writing. If this at least gets some decent reviews, I could fix up a second chapter in.
