I know this is kind of sudden, but, please, it will only take a moment. I want your honest opinion.

"Ayanokoji-kun? Ichinose murmured, she looked around for the brown haired male but She didn't find him.

"Who's that?"

Are people equal or not?

A proper society will constantly strive for equality. There are those
who clamor for men and women to always be considered equal. As a result, we raised the employment rate for women, we made specialized subway cars only for women. Sometimes, women will even argue over the order of names in a family register. The public opinion of people with disabilities has also changed. We're now told that we should not use the term "disabled people" when referring to them, so as not to discriminate. Nowadays, children are taught that all people are created equal.

"No matter what type of word you call them, a disable will always be a disable." Nagumo remarked. Some students agreed to what he said, and some beg to differ.

But is that true? I have my doubts. If men and women have different
abilities, then their roles should also differ. People with disabilities are still disabled, no matter what polite euphemisms you use. No matter how you try to avert your eyes, the meaning of the word does not change.

Ichinose smile sadly at Ayanokoji's thoughts.

So, my answer would be, "No, we are not equal." To be human is to be unequal. Equality does not exist.

"I beg to differ, Ayanokoji-boy. I, myself is a divine being that surpass the word perfection a long time ago." Koenji looked at himself in the mirror.

I didn't even bother to glanced at him, 'As I suspected. I was picked by the Government to be the center of this so called experiment. That old man seems to be dealing with big problem as he didn't stopped this from being conducted. It was not a secret that he loathes the idea of that place shutting down, less his property bring exposed like this.'

Long ago, in a bygone era, a great man said that heaven does not set one man above or below any other. However, he did not necessarily adhere to the idea that everyone is equal. Did you know that there is more to that famous passage? The rest goes like this: Everyone is equal when they are born, so I ask, why do we see differences in position and status? And it continues: Do you or do you not encourage learning to create a difference? So then, education creates an imbalance. The point's spelled out there, in the incredibly famous work Gakumon no Sume. Even though this is the year 2015, the modern era, nothing about these teachings has changed. The situation has only grown more complex and fraught.

In any case, we are human beings. We are living, thinking creatures.

I don't think it right to simply say that we are unequal and then live our lives based on pure instinct. In other words, though "equality" is a complete lie, we cannot accept inequality, either. Right now, I'm trying to come up with a new answer for humanity's eternal question.

"Inequality or not, people should strive to be equal, correct?" Manabu pushed his glasses. Ichinose nodded at the President's words.

"Equality is nothing but a fantasy, do you think greedy creatures such as humans will accept or be satisfied to be equal with other people that are inferior to them? Their pride will not let that happen." Nagumo disagree.

"But, our society will flourish more if the people work and cooperate with each other, poor or rich, young and old, smart, and dumb, am I wrong?" Manabu countered. The students watched silently. They are divided by two groups, one that agree with the President, while the other sides with Nagumo.

"And that is why the strong, more capable people will never achieve the peak of their strengths, the inferior will do nothing but drag them down to failure."

Manabu only sighed, he gave up trying to sway Nagumo to his philosophy.

Hey, you there. You, the one reading this book right now. Have you ever given serious thought to the future?

"Uhm...of course we have?" A student from C Class asked (?)

Have you ever considered the purpose of going to high school or to college? Though the future may seem hazy right now, do you think you'll find a job someday?

"Of course, we do!"

"What kind of thinking it that?!"

"Well, I apologize if my thoughts offended you in anyway. I never would have thought that it will be broadcast by everyone here." I sarcastically said. Student jumped, not expecting me to speak up.

The first year who said the last sentence flushed in embarrassment. Some giggled and chuckled.

I sighed inwardly.

That's what I used to think. Back when I finished my compulsory education and became a high school student, I hadn't really considered the future. I'd only felt joy at being nearly free of obligation. I didn't consider the incredible influence that school would continue to have in my life, on my future. I didn't even understand the purpose behind studying language or numbers.

Sakayanagi smiled sadly at me. I narrowed my eyes at that gesture. 'Does she know something about me? My past? That place? That seems to be likely as she reacted at that.'

'Obligation?' Horikita stared at the screen.

Karuizawa was lost in thought. She was reminiscing about the time Ayanokoji forced her to surrender herself to him. The darkness in his eyes, yet that darkness didn't seems to have come from being a criminal, or a horrible human being. It appear to have come from a painful past. Both seems to be more related than she thought. Not circumstances, she mean. But the feelings they experienced.

Mashima-sensei stood up after the screen went black. "Is everyone doing okay? We will be viewing around 6 memories a day. While this is happening, the ship will continue to head to the school, and we will continue the viewing there."

After that he went to me, face apologetic. "Ayanokoji, I apologized that this have breached your privacy, but the Government have agreed that we will only show important memories if possible so rest assured. They also emphasized that this is required to do no matter your feelings and reasons." Mashima-sensei apologized to me sincerely.

I sighed, "It's fine, Mashima-sensei. It may be true that this viewing will bring us many disadvantages, it also have its own advantages. Thank you for being considerate of my feelings and apologizing, but that isn't necessary. You weren't the one who started this, thus not responsible. But I appreciate your sincerity. Thank you." I thank him and bowed. Everyone watched us curiously. Sakayanagi and Ryuuen watches us in particular, glint in their eyes. While Nagumo tilted his head, he must have connected the dots that I'm the Ayanokoji they are viewing and the one who is President Horikita's eying.
