"Come on, man," Danny whined, flying up and around Skulker as blasts of purple followed his tail. "Can't I have a day off for once?"
"Once your pelt adorns my wall," Skulker threatened, taking aim with a secondary weapon while the small pistol on his shoulder continued following the boy.
"I thought we were past that," Danny said, struggling to keep straight two line of visions as his clone snuck up behind the ghost. Once his second self was close enough, he let both voice, "You need to change with the times, old man."
"Old man?" Skulker echoed. "I think you're getting me confused with Plasmius again."
"Check again," Danny said, his double raising both hands with a glowing orb of plasma pointed at the back of Skulker's neck. He released the blast as Skulker shot towards the Danny avoiding the small pistol.
Danny dropped just in time for a large blast of purple to shoot right above him. He glanced behind him as glass shattered, the dome above the tables and chairs raining down. Quickly turning intangible, he grabbed the Fenton Thermos out of his pocket and took aim. He released the power controlling his double and activated the blue net, sucking up Skulker. He watched the ghost disappear into the blue light, surprised there were no last words like normal.
Danny floated down to the ground and smiled at the few spectators who felt safe enough to watch the ghost fight above them in the mall's food court. He picked up the book bag he had been forced to drop off on a table and threw it on his back, about to fly off only to be stopped by a voice calling out.
"Hey, Phantom!"
Danny turned towards the male voice only to see a group of seniors from Casper High walking towards him. "Yeah?" he asked, almost faltering at who he saw.
The teen in the front pulled out a slip of paper from his jean pocket before handing it to the ghost. "I was wondering if you'd be able to make an appearance at my Halloween party this Friday."
Danny took the paper and glanced at it, reading in the teen's manuscript that the party was supposed to be from 9 to midnight and the address. He looked up, seeing the older teen run a hand through his bangs to pull them back before resting his hand on the back of his neck so the hair could fling back into place. "Uh, sure. Can I bring some friends?"
"Ghost or human?" the teen asked.
Quickly thinking, Danny said, "Both."
The group of three seniors smiled at that, the girl nodding her head.
"Sure man. See you then," the teen that had handed Danny the note said, smiling at him before leading the three some away.
Danny turned back to the note, his mind wanting to re-read the note to find something that would prove this was all just a dream. Seeing it staying the same, he put it away in his pocket and flew through the newly formed hold in the sky lights. He couldn't wait until Sam and Tucker found out. Even Paulina never got invited to any of Steven Howell's parties.
AN: Once again you're getting a story that I started years ago, re-read one night, and started working on at work. Not much of the original story's here, and ideas from another failed idea got merged into this one, but that's why I save failed ideas. And after this I have another story I wanna see if I can take from the grave and breathe new life into it! Of course, you know me; I've got stories out the wazoo in my brain so we'll see what actually gets posted.
Added, a lot will have happened between writing this and posting it. I'll have moved, married, and maybe even gone to Kenya by the time this comes out. At least that's the hope back in the beginning of 2022, we'll see whenever this actually sees the internet. EDIT 4-12-22 It all hasn't happened yet. But that's also because this story has turned from being posted after 5 other stories to being spring! Who knew!
