Part VIII

Saturday 11th November

Jazz looked at her school work, knowing she needed to get it done. She was already a week behind as it was, but under the events of the past sixteen days her teachers had given her some slack.

Sixteen days. It really had been two weeks since he disappeared. Since they all disappeared.

Jazz looked at her calendar on her wall and realized it was Veterans Day. The Canadians called it right, it really was Remembrance Day. Only two weeks left until Thanksgiving.

"Where are you, Danny?" Jazz asked, looking out her window.

For the past sixteen days the police have been out looking for the trio. Mrs. Manson had been the biggest front to helping them get looking before the official forty-eight hours. Even Maddie and Jack were trying to use their "malfunctioning" equipment that always picked up Danny to help in the search to no avail. Danny, Sam, and Tucker were still missing.

Vlad had sent a search out in the Ghost Zone in case someone had kidnapped the three, but that was almost a week ago now. Skulker still hadn't found anything out on his own either. And as much as the ghost would hate to admit it, he was missing Danny as much as Jazz was. For different reasons of course, but he was helping.

Jazz looked back at her school work only to close her eyes. A single tear escaped her eye and rolled down her cheek before landing on her paper, liquefying the ink already there. Before she could stop it, more tears followed.

A hand appeared on her shoulder, getting the girl to look towards the hand. She noticed the thirteen year old girl standing there, only her height reminding Jazz that it wasn't Danny behind her as she looked through her tears. "Any luck?" Jazz asked as she wiped away the tears streaking down her cheeks.

"No," Dani admitted, her face looking older then when Jazz had first met her almost two weeks ago. "I've checked out the whole state and found nothing, even with Valerie helping. Any word from the cops?"

"They haven't found anything of them either," Jazz admitted, re-remembering the girl had said she was friends with the Red Huntress. "It's almost as if the three of them dropped off the face of the Earth."

"Any word from Vlad or Skulker?" Dani asked only to receive a shake of the girl's head. Dani sighed as she dropped down on Jazz's bed. "I wish we knew more about Danny's ghost friends. See if they'd heard anything."

"I've thought of that so I went through Danny's ghost files again," Jazz admitted, turning back towards her desk as she jiggled the mouse to wake up her computer. "He has a few ghosts labeled as friends but I wasn't going to go through the Ghost Zone on my own even with his map."

"I'll help, though I've never been in the Ghost Zone before," Dani admitted.

"Then I hope his map's readable," Jazz mumbled as she scribbled down a few names on a piece of paper. "We need all the help we can get."
