Chapter 2: Vernon Loses It and the Shock that Follows

Once his boss was out of the room; Vernon loses is and says, "HOW DARE YOU, LITTLE FREAK?!" as he starts towards Harriet.

Tony immediately grabbed Harriet; Pepper was in shock but Steve and Clint got front of the Starks.

Harriet was terrified of Vernon and Tony knew that Harriet was going to have relapse when everyone on his team along with S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Magical Congress of America had been trying to help her cope from the Loki incident because it had been scary for her since she had no clue where she was or how she got here.

"Mr. Dursley?!" Pepper said.

"YOU'RE ALL A BUNCH OF FREAKS!" Vernon said.

"Mr. Dursley, please stop." Steve said.

"I'LL NOT BE TOLD WHAT TO DO BY A BUNCH OF FREAKS! THAT LITTLE BITCH IS A WHORE!" Vernon shouted.

However, Tony knew that was a lie because the doctor from S.H.I.E.L.D. had confirmed that Harriet was still virgin which had embarrassed Harriet completely but Tony had explained that they wanted to make sure that no one had sexually abused her; because he was worried that someone might have done just that.

Vernon was still yelling at them when the door opened and there stood Vernon's boss who had just heard everything that had left Vernon's mouth.

Tony and the others didn't say a word that alerted Mr. Dursley of his boss's presence but they did notice that he wasn't pleased to learn that it had been Vernon who had been considered a great employee.

"Harriet was your niece!" Steve said.

"All her freakiness had to be delt with! Especially, since she was smarter than my son!" Vernon stated.

"So you punished her for doing better than your son?!" Tony stated angrily.

Vernon's boss was stunned to hear this.

"Well...I believe we should get the lawyers involved then." Tony simply stated.

"Mr. Stark, considered Vernon Dursley fired!" A male voice said.

Vernon turned to see his boss standing there and he paled then he turned on the Status along with Harriet but was stopped by Hawkeye and Captain America. However, the police were still called and Vernon Dursley was led away in cuffs.

A month later...

It was now July 31st and the Avengers along with S.H.I.E.L.D. as well as Tony and Pepper decided to throw Harriet a surprise party. She was turning thirteen years old and Tony wanted to spoil her for the day, so for them to pull off a surprise party; Tony and Pepper to her shopping as well as to see the sights of New York even though some of them had to be rebuildt because of the attack earlier that year.

"Dad? Mum?" Harriet said

"Yes, what is it, princess?" Tony questioned.

"If you and mum decide to have a child of your very own, I won't be mad because I would really like to have sibling or two and I wouldn't care to have a little sister or a little brother or even both." Harriet said.

Tony and Pepper smiled then Tony said, "Well congrads! Because you'll because big sister in nine months."

Harriet's eyes brightened at hearing that and said hugging them both, "I love you both and this is the best birthday present ever."

"We are just getting started, princess." Tony said with a smile.

Meanwhile, back in Great Britian at Hogwarts...

Dumbledore, McGongall were talking with Amelia and Kingsly.

"So, Harriet was kidnapped from her aunt and ucle?" Dumbledore said.

"Yes and two American muggles have taken her in and somehow the resemble the late Lord and Lady Potter. Even a member of the Magical Congress of America was stunned when she saw the resemblance. Also, there was an American Muggle with them named Captain Steve Rogers aka Captain America and he seemed to know you, Albus." Kingsly stated.

Dumbledore was stunned to hear what Kingsly and Amelia were telling him and then said, "I knew a Captain Steve Rogers, he helped durimg the war with Grinwald and Hitler which I believe the muggles call World War ll. However, I didn't know if the young had died or if he had lived."

"Well, he was pretty much alive. Not only that he is with a team of others that call themselves the Avengers." Amelia said.

Dumbledore didn't know what to say to that.

"What of Miss Potter?" Minerva questioned.

"She seemed okay but a little dramatized. When we said that we need to bring her back to England someting unexpected happened." Amelia said

"What happened?" Albus asked curiously.

"The man who resembled James Potter was possesssed by the spirit of James Potter and said that he was very disappointed in the British Magical community and asked if the wills had been read." Kingsly said.

They continued their conversation; however, Dumbledore wasn't exactly happy with these turn of events but he wasn't aware that eventually Harriet Potter-Stark would have an amazingly strong soulmate that would be trained in a branch of magic that was very strong by its own right when she became of age or was emancipated unexpectedly.

(Take a guess who Harriet's soulmate will be?)

Back in New York...

Tony and Pepper finished taking Harriet birthday shopping and were heading back to Stark well Avengers Tower.

"Dad?" Harriet said.

"Yes, Princess?" Tony said.

"I'm happy that you and Mum took me in when you did. I've never felt safer in my life well at least part of it anyways. I don't what I would've done if I had to returned to the Durselys." Harriet said.

"Tony and I are happy to have you in our lives as well, Harriet. Even I have to admit that you were brave being kidnapped by someone like Loki." Pepper said.

"Pepper's right, princess. Even though, Loki may be unaware of it but he brought you out of a horrible situation then we saved you from him and you became our daughter. So, in a weird way, we kind of owe Loki for having you. I guess could say from a certain point view if you will." Tony stated.

Harriet giggled and said, "Serioisly? Another movie quote?"

Tony chuckled and said, "Some movie quotes are good to apply to life."

"Like the one that Yoda says to Luke Skywalker at the beginning of his Jedi training?" Harriet said.

"Yep." Tony said.

They had reached their destination which was Stark well Avengers Tower. Then they made their way common area when suddenly a shout out of surprise rang in the room.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HARRIET!!!" Everyone shouted.

Harriet was in shocked but was also happy. Her new family had surprised her with a birthday party.

Several weeks later...

Harriet awoke and got dressed, ate breakfast, brushed her teeth and finished her studies that she had been catching up on in the muggle world before she returned to the magical world in Great Britian. Then she went to her training sessions with the Avengers as well as Phil Coulson from S.H.I.E.L.D.

Then after that, she went to pack her things because Tony, Pepper, and Steve were taking her back to Great Britian to get her school supplies for her 3rd year at Hogwarts.

Her father had given her a cellphone that he had designed himself with her help of course along with a bluetooth ear peice for her birthday. She packed some of her gifts in her magical trunk well her new magical trunk that Tony had insisted on; which had several compartments where she could store things. Her father also insisted that magical charms and such be put on the trunk so Harriet was the only one that could open it.

Moments later, they boarded the private jet plane and headed for England

Seven hours later...

They arrived in England at the London Airport. Tony, Pepper, Steve, and Harriet disembarked from the private jet then made their way through the airport; when suddenly someone bumped into them.

"Harriet, is that you?" A female voice said.

Harriet recognized as the voice as Hermione's and said, "Yes, it's me, Mione."

"Where were you?" Hermione questioned.

"New York." Harriet simply answered.

"What were you doing there?! You were supposed to be with your aunt and uncle!" Hermione said.

Tony and Pepper along with Steve noticed that Harriet began to tense at the mention of the Dursleys.

Just then, Dr. Granger and his wife approached the people that their daughter was talking to; when the man spoke, "So, you're Hermione Granger?"

Hermione looked at the man and answered, "Yes and you are?"

"Before I tell you anything let me make it perfectly clear! Harriet had been kidnapped and brought to New York. We have helped Harriet out with dealing with the chaos. Not to mention, her aunt and uncle are clearly in jail for the abuse that they did to Harriet. As for who I am! I am Harriet's adoptive father, Tony Stark!"

Suddenly, the Grangers heard collective gasps all around them from what the man had just said.

Harriet knew that they were going to mobbed now and said, "Dad, I hate break it to you but I think we're going to have to make a dash for it!"

It took a minute for Tony to process what Harriet said then he replied, "Either that or Airport security will have to help us get out of here safely."

Hermione and her parents were completely confused. Then they heard, "IT'S IRON MAN AND CAPTAIN AMERICA!"

"DID IRON MAN JUST CALL THAT STANDING BESIDE HIM HIS DAUGHTER?!"

"YES AND I HEARD THAT IRON MAN SECRETLY GOT MARRIED AND ADOPTED THE YOUNG GIRL HE SAVED FROM LOKI!"

People continued to scream at them as the airport security had to help them get to their car.

As they were walking quickly, Tony said, "That was quite unexpected."

"I agree, Tony." Steve said.

The Grangers had followed close behind them listening to the conversation.

Harriet mainly stayed close to Tony and Pepper.

"Dad?" Harriet said.

"Yes, Princess?" Tony said.

"I guess I never would have thought that the Avengers reach here." Harriet said.

Tony smiled and said, "Well, kiddo you're pretty famous yourself and now it's combinded with what I do."

Harriet giggled and said, "That's true, Dad."

Hermione was absolutely stunned by how happy Harriet seemed to be with her adoptive parents.

Steve sighed and said quietly, "I can only imagine of the reactions we'll recieve from British Magical community considering Tony and Pepper resemble Harriet's real parents in some way."

Hermione heard what this man called Captain America said and was stunned well more like confused really.

Moments later heading to Diagon Alley...

Harriet along with her adoptive parents which she called Mum and Dad as well as Uncle Steve headed to the Leaky Cauldron in order to enter Diagon Alley. They wondered how different it was going to be compared to New York's magical shopping district.

As soon as they entered; Tony and Pepper several loud crashes of things being dropped and people staring straight at them.

"Well, this is awkward." Tony said suddenly.

Steve and Pepper agreed with Tony.

"Harri?!" Ron said unaware of what was going on.

"Hello, Ron." Harriet said.

Both Tony and Steve were staring Ron down suddenly.

Mr. Granger noticed that the two men staring the young, Ron Weasley down. He couldn't but wanting to laugh.

"R...good heavens! Lily?! James?!" Molly said in shock.

Arthur dropped what he had in his hands and said, "But how is that possible?"

Then something caught Tony's attention. He walked over to the wanted poster and said, "Padfoot?"

Steve had seen that something had caught Tony's attention. He watched as Harriet walked over to Tony and heard her say, "That's Padfoot isn't, Dad?"

Tony nodded.

Arthur approached cautiously towards Harriet and the man who was possibly James and said, "That's Sirius Black, he was charged betraying you and Lily, James."

Tony didn't bother to correct him at the moment but said, "Tell me how someone could betray my family when they took an oath before magic herself that his magic would instantly kill him if he had! He took the ancient oath of a godparent!"

Arthur gasped as he realized what James well Tony was saying.

Steve noticed that Tony was being serious and then he heard Pepper say, "James, how could people accuse Padfoot of such a thing?"

Then it hit Steve like a ton of bricks both Pepper and Tony were being possessed by the spirits of James and Lily Potter right now.

Molly was going to touch them until Steve said, "Don't touch them! They are already upset with the British Magical World and they need time process the infoemation."

Molly looked at the blonde man curiously.

"I smell a traitorous rat." Tony said suddenly.

Hermione wondered what the man meant by that.

Fred and George were watching the entire thing; they were very curious. Until they heard Harriet say, "Dad, do you mean the real traitor to our family?"

Tony chuckled and said, "Bambi, you were always smart even for a one year old. You literaly destoryed your stuff toy rat that Peter Petigrew got you as if you knew something was bound to happen."

Pepper giggled and said, "Harriet, you were aware that something wasn't exactly right with wormtail from the very beginning. Yet, I wonder if your soulmate was watching over you somehow."

"Mum, if my soulmate was watching over me then why didn't he intervene?" Harriet questioned.

"Something tells me that he may have wanted to but he couldn't interfere but he did something else to help you in a way." Pepper said.

"It's not like my soulmate is from another dimension or something?" Harriet questioned.

"Well, anything is possible, Harriet." Pepper said.

"Okay, Mum." Harriet said.

Suddenly, George and Fred approached Tony.

"You said Padfoot?" Fred said.

"And mentioned Wormtail? George said.

"So, I did. The only one that I'm missing is Moony. Although, if I know Moony he'll down on himself." Tony said.

"Who are you then?" Fred questioned.

"I'm Prongs at your service." Tony said

Then Tony and Pepper blacked out.

Steve and Harriet rushed to their side; both knowing that they were going to wake up with a headache.

"James? Lily?" Arthur questioned.

"No, my name is Tony and my wife's name is Pepper. We're Harriet's adoptive parents but recently we seem to be channeling two spirits that we are apparently similar to and at the end of we end up with a headache as well as memories of sorts." Tony said.

"How often does that happen?" Arthur asked.

"When they are not expecting it to happen." Steve said suddenly.

"Thanks, Cap." Tony said as Steve handed him a pain reliever for the headache.

It was Ginny who spoke, "Why does he call you Cap?"

"It's short for Captain." Steve answered.

"Well, at least he isn't calling you Capsicle anymore or he rarely does it." Harriet stated.

Steve chuckled and said, "Harriet, I don't need to be reminded that I was frozen in ice for seventy years."

"I never knew why Dad was calling you that until now." Harriet said.

"Oh." Steve said, "Harriet, give your mother a pain reliever."

Molly and the others were stunned to hear that.

"Sure thing, Captain." Harriet said.

Tony groaned and said, "Why does this always happen?"

"Tony, you've possessed more than Pepper has since this started and it started after you saved Harriet from Loki." Steve stated, "However, Pepper may have just started getting possessed."

Tony just nodded.

"What do you mean, sir?" Hermione asked curiously.

Steve wasn't exactly sure if Harriet's friend should know this; so he looked at Harriet for permission followed by Tony and Pepper.

Tony, Pepper, and Harriet nodded giving him permission to speak freely of the events that had happened. So, Steve started explaining from the beginning to the point where Harriet had unexpectedly come in at. From there he proceeded carefully at what they had discovered while Harriet was in New York and how they had let a doctor check Harriet out because they were worried for her.

By the time, Steve finished; Fred and George looked at their mother as if to say told you so.

Molly was in tears and Arthur was stunned.

Tony sighed and said, "Still we aren't sure exactly why Pepper and I favor Harriet's late parents, so figured maybe we might find out when we brought Harriet back to England. We just wasn't expecting the sudden possession of the spirits."

"Has anything else happened since this has happened?" Dr. Granger asked suddenly.

"Not that we are aware of at the moment." Tony answered.

"Gringotts might help you all?" Arthur suggested.

[Author's Note: I know I have done a confusing concept here. Um...basically at certain times Pepper and Tony get possessed by the spirits of James and Lily and the side affective of that is that they again Lily's and James's memories.

Again I apologize for not making sense in some of my fanfictions; sometimes my mind just runs with it and I forget a few things. Think of it this way, with so little information it's a mystery in itself. Why? How? Who? What? is the jist of it. How did it happen? Who is letting James and Lily possess Tony and Pepper? Why is this person allowing Tony and Pepper to have the memories of James and Lily? What is the purpose behind it?]
