After talking about it, Danny decides to take Sonata bowling. She's never been bowling and wanted to try it out. Danny takes her the Amity Park's Bowling Alley and set up a game. He decides to do it for fun. No points. He was having a fun time, but Sonata?
"Augh! I keep missing the pins!" She groans.
Danny sighs. He was about to teach her how to play but she grab a ball and tried to play herself. The sad part? She kept getting gutter balls.
"Sonata," Danny said, making the girl turn.
Danny walks over and picks up his ball. He then shows the three holes to her.
"You need to put the right fingers in each hole. The top two need your middle and ring fingers. With the bottom being for your thumb." Danny said, putting his fingers in.
"Also, make sure your fingers are gripping the ball tight enough to keep it in your hand but also loose enough so your fingers don't get pull off when you throw it," Danny said, making Sonata nod.
"And based on how you what to hold the ball, you have to place your hand in the right spots," Danny said, showing her all the spots he knew.
"Finally, you need to stand and throw in the correct way to knock down the pins you want. That one is better to show than tell." Danny said.
Sonata watch how he stood and threw the ball. It came off his fingers and rolled down the line, knocking all the pins down.
"There's more to it, but I think the basics are always the best place to start with." He told her.
Sonata nods and grabs the ball that came back. She tried to follow what Danny told her, and she almost down the ball on her toes the first time. She was able to make sure it stay in her hand before trying to bowling again. She was able to throw it, but her ring finger got pulled a bit. She ends up knocking down the right side of the pins as she hisses and tries numb the pain.
"Are you okay?" Danny asked, rushing over to her.
"Yeah. I don't think anything is broken." Sonata said.
"Come on, let's get an ice pack," Danny said, knowing how that feels.
The two sat down at the snack area with Sonata holding a small ice pack on her ring finger.
"Are you sure your okay?" Danny asked.
"Yes. I thought I had my fingers loose enough to throw the ball without getting my fingers pulled." Sonata said.
"Yeah, happens to some first-time players. I got my fingers pulled more times than I can count." Danny said.
Sonata looks at him and smiles. He was so nice and really caring. She didn't understand why people would pick on him. Aria and Adagio might not see what she does, but they do know that he's not what people make him out to be.
"Hey, Sonata? How's your music class going?" Danny asked, making her sigh.
"Not too good. We still can't sing a single note. Our teacher is trying, but I can tell she's getting frustrated with us." Sonata said.
"Not true. I actually know Ms. Callway. She told me that you and Aria were amazing students. She likes that your both not giving up and taking her lessons to heart. She told me that you two could make it big one day." Danny told her.
"Really?" Sonata asked, shocked.
"Yep. Now if only Adagio would get off her high horse and try them out herself." Danny said, remembering seeing Adagio standing out of the music class each time he walk past.
"Adagio has been like that," Sonata said.
"Even so, she needs to understand that there's always more than one way to do things," Danny said, sighing.
He still didn't get why she was asking about Ghost Artifacts. It's not like there was someone that was holding them.
Danny suddenly blinks and facepalms himself.
'Of course! Frostbite! He's holding on to every dangerous artifact he finds. Mostly to keep them out of Vlad's hands. But why does Adagio what them?' He thinks.
"Danny? Are you okay?" Sonata asked.
"Yeah, yeah. I tend to remember things at a later point of time." He said, deciding to see if Sonata could answer the question he was having.
"Sonata? Why is your cousin looking into Ghost Artifacts?" He asked her.
Sonata blinks. She knew she couldn't tell Danny what she really was. Aria said that was the smartest thing she thought of before they started arguing again.
"Well, Adagio thinks that an artifact could give us our singing voices back," Sonata said, sheepishly.
Danny raises an eyebrow. An Artifact that could let them sing? He never heard anything like that. Then again, he never heard of the Infi-map until Frostbite show him. Maybe he should visit him later and see if he came across anything like that.
"How's your finger?" Danny asked.
Sonata looks at it and found it didn't hurt. It was a bit red, but she could move it.
"Better." She said.
"Great. Ready to try again?" Danny asked.
"Yeah," Sonata said, smiling.
'Huh, I never notices how beautiful her smiles were.' Danny thought before shaking his head.
'Easy there, Fenton. She's your friend. Still, it was a nice smile. Stop that!' He added in thought.
A bit later,
Danny and Sonata played a few games, with Sonata being more careful about her fingers. She was able to knock down the pins for a strike, and somehow hit a Seven-Ten split. Danny checks the time and saw it was getting a little late and thought it was best to walk her home. Sonata was a little sad they had to leave, but she was starting to feel a little hungry.
They return the shoes before walking down the street. Sonata smiles as Danny look to be in thought. She was trying her hardest not to grab his arm. Yes, he was cute, but she didn't want to scare him. She did remember his sister's advice. Be herself.
"Hey, Danny?" She asked, snapping the boy from his thoughts.
"Yeah?" He asked.
"If I get my singing voice back, can I sing a song for you?" She asked, blushing a bit.
"Really? Are you sure?" He asked, surprised.
"Yeah. Think of it as a way to thank you for all you have done for me." Sonata said.
"Well, I don't know about that. I mean, I'm just helping a friend." Danny said, rubbing the back of his head.
Sonata blushes. She could feel her heart beating faster and a voice in the back of her mind telling her to do it already. However, she ignores it, and just walks next to him. Danny notices how she was acting and thought of something. It might earn him a slap, but he wants to try it at least once. He carefully raises his arm and slowly puts it around Sonata's shoulders. The Sirens look up in shock before seeing Danny's arm around her.
"I'm sorry if this feels uncomfortable. I wanted to try this out for some time. If it's too much, I'll remove it." He said, getting ready to take his arm off.
"No. It's fine. It feels nice." Sonata said, stopping him.
Danny sighs. He was not going to take any more risks. He was not Dash. Sonata then moves closer to him, surprising Danny.
"Sorry, I've been trying to avoid doing this, but you took a risk and I decide to do the same," Sonata said, blushing.
Danny blushes as well, actually liking the feeling. It sure felt nice.
"Thanks for taking me bowling today, Danny. I had fun." Sonata said.
"Yeah. I was hoping to show you more, but I guess we got caught up in the game." Danny said, sheepishly.
"Well, it's not like it's a one-time thing. Maybe next time we could go to the park, or try out the arcade." Sonata said, remembering the places he told her about.
"We'll see." Danny smiles.
Little did they both know, A manhole cover lifted a bit and notices them.
"So, he didn't listen. And the girl still refuses to tell him the truth. You leave me no choice, Hero of the Ghost Zone."
Danny and Sonata walked until they reach Sonata's house. Danny was surprised to see that it wasn't big or fancy. It looks to be normal size. At least it was nice enough to show that the three could live peacefully.
"Thanks for walking me home, Danny," Sonata said.
"Sure. I'm just a little surprised that there were no ghost attacks on the way here." Danny said.
Danny didn't like that. For some reason, most of his normal enemies were nowhere to be seen and these new powerful ghosts have been coming out of the portal. It was starting to be harder for him to stop them. He still didn't get why the ghosts were after Sonata and her family. He might not know what they did, due to Sam finding nothing about their past, but he doesn't think they were dangerous.
"Well, I see you tomorrow," Sonata said, starting to walk up the steps.
"Hey, Sonata?" Danny spoke up before he could stop himself.
"Yeah?" She said, looking back at him.
"Err, I was wondering. When you do get your singing voice back. I wouldn't mind hearing a song or two." Danny blushed.
Sonata blinks before smiling. She steps down and kisses Danny's cheek. Danny went wide eyes as he felt the spot she kissed.
"I'll think of some songs for you." She said before heading inside.
She then looks back at him and smiles. She closes the door as Danny smiles back. He then turns and started to head home, still feeling the kiss.
Once he was gone, a manhole was removed and the Ghost Gator climb out. It looks to see that Danny was too far to pick him up, and it will be a while before he would try to stop him. It then turns to the Dazzling's Home and growls.
After a bit of thinking, I decided to just cover Danny and Sonata doing some bowling. I haven't been bowling in years. So I don't know if what I wrote is correct. Anyways, it looks as if Danny and Sonata are becoming closer, but they're not going to start dating yet. I do have a request for you all. When Sonata does start singing again, what song should she sing? Please let me know in the Reviews, or if you want, send the song to me in the PM. Well, the Ghost Gater is back again and it looks as if he's going to attack the Dazzlings! You'll have to find out what happens in the next chapter. And one more thing, I got Guest Review asking me to turn this story into a harem, but that's not happening. This is a DannyXSonata story. You want to read a harem? Read Ghost Girls or my Danny Phantom/Helltaker crossovers.
