OoOoO
This is a story with updates that'll be few and far between. I want it to be more polished than anything I've ever written before— even if it's a story that was born more out of curiosity than anything else. Without further ado, I hope that you all enjoy the story. Adios!
OOOOOO
Crash Landing
OOOOOO
Opening my eyes, I took a moment to collect myself. The fact that I could even open them in the first place was a surprise. If there was one thing I didn't expect, it was to wake up after going towards the light. Though I was by no means ungrateful for the second chance.
Looking around, I noticed that I seemed to be in some sort of… pod? My current position left much to be desired on that front. The most I got to see of the outside world was through a red tinted circular window.
Though my confinement didn't last for long. The front of the pod extended outwards, slowly giving me a glimpse into the outside world. Using my seat as support, I pushed myself forwards and out of the hole that I supposed functioned as both the entrance and exit.
It took no more than a single look around me to realise that I was in a crater of the pod's making.
I seemed to be shorter than I remembered, and my hands were pudgy— I looked to be around 2 or 3 years old. I looked down, noticing that my skin was still a dark bronze. 'At least some things have stayed the same.' I thought as my gaze travelled lower.
I wore a skin-tight black bodysuit that seemed to envelop my entire body and a sturdy looking set of body armour that stopped just above my waist.
That was when I noticed that I had a tail. I vaguely remembered watching a show as a kid where the main character had a tail. 'Though he did lose it pretty early on.'
It was a dark brown, almost black, and curled around my waist, resting comfortably just below the armour.
Slowly uncurling it from its resting place, I twirled the tail around. 'It feels like another limb.'
With a strength I didn't know I possessed, I hopped out of the crater and took a look around. Not like it helped me much. I hadn't the foggiest idea as to where I was. Slowly walking around the crater, I looked at my surroundings.
The planet certainly was exotic.
Vast swathes of teal grass extended as far as I could see— and in the distance stood a similarly coloured forest. Pterodactyl-like birds swooped overhead, momentarily blotting the sunlight from view.
A winding dirt track cut through the uniform of the plains. It swirled across the fields and led off to somewhere that I couldn't be bothered to go.
Instead, I wandered over to a wide lake and peered over its banks to take a look at what I was working with. 'Great… I've got a case of resting bitch face syndrome.'
My most striking feature by far was my hair. It was a wild, untameable thing that seemed to stick up straight in some places. The rest of it cascaded down my nape, stopping just short of my shoulder blades. And though my cheeks seemed to have a healthy helping of chubbiness, I could tell that I'd grow up to be quite the striking man. 'Being handsome only helps you. After all, first impressions last for quite a while.'
Standing back up, I saw the reflection of an odd structure in the water and looked up slightly shocked at the number of moons present in the sky. 'There seems to be… one, two, three… I think I'm going to stop counting now.'
Instead, I fixed my gaze on the structure. It was an upside-down pyramid with tufts of foliage sticking off the edge. Atop its base sat a dead tree. The peak was obscured in a layer of fog, but the little I saw was enough for me to tell that the tree was enormous.
"Well, well," said a smooth voice. I didn't even have to turn around to feel the danger that was rolling off the person behind me.
"An attack pod carrying a Saiyan child." I turned around anyway, locking eyes with a purple cat outfitted in what seemed to be an Ancient Egyptian garb. "Freeza must have lost his damn mind."
'A talking, bipedal cat…?'
It stopped for a moment to let out a mighty yawn that brought a couple of tears to the corner of its eyes. Its feline eyes narrowed slightly, and the danger in the air was palpable. It felt as if someone was holding an insanely sharp knife to my throat, and that the slightest movement would result in my death.
'It probably will.' I thought.
The cat stuck up a palm, and an ominous purple orb began to glow at its centre.
"Before creation comes destruction." the orb grew bigger until it soon outgrew its palm. The blinding light forced me to squeeze my eyes shut, and its heat began to prickle my skin.
Then the heat… vanished and I hesitantly opened my eyes.
"A Saiyan child, huh?" the cat said, a curious expression adorning its face. "Perhaps you are the prophesied Saiyan God. The oracle fish did say that the Super Saiyan God would be born 39 years from now…" it dropped its hand to its side and crouched down to take a better look at me. It circled around me, poking and prodding me with its finger before standing back up. "I am Beerus, the God of Destruction."
'Is that a nickname or is he a literal deity?' I wondered. Though I was too afraid to voice my question out loud.
"You have two options," Beerus continued, oblivious to my thoughts. "Either I kill you right here, or you get strong enough to satisfy me. Is that understood?"
I furiously nodded my head, afraid that any other response would anger him.
"Good," he yawned, and turned around. "I'll set an alarm for 39 years from now. If I wake up and find that you have... disappointed me…" he looked over his shoulder and shot me a malicious grin. There the danger was again. It cut through the air and rooted me to the ground. "Just make that you don't. Otherwise you won't like what will happen."
I blinked and he was gone. A grateful sigh escaped my lips. I dropped down and my backside hit the floor with a thump. I raised my shaking hands and clenched them into tight fists. Despite his very open threat, I found that I was thrilled at the prospect of… fighting him. 'Am I going mad?'
"Well, that was quite the warm welcome." said another voice.
'What is it with people sneaking up from behind me?!'
Turning around, a robed man stood behind me. His skin was a pale blue and his hair was slicked upwards— I didn't know if it was natural, but I didn't dare to ask. It was a soft, angelic, grey and his eyes were a pale lavender. He held a staff in his left hand and walked towards me.
His steps were light, and he seemed to be loved by nature itself. The grass parted ways to make way for him, and the wind itself blessed his person, sweeping his hair softly from left to right.
He cleared the distance between us in an instant and moments later, he scooped me up into his free arm.
"My name is Whis, attendant and guide to Lord Beerus." Whis introduced himself. "Lord Beerus has instructed me to train you. That will include a godly education as well as some martial arts on the side, hm?" he nodded to himself, seemingly deciding on what he would do. "But before that, we must name you."
He twirled his staff, a holographic light extending from the spherical tip. It extended towards the crater, and wrapped itself around my pod before returning to the staff.
"It seems that your pod at the very least includes your name and some other information that is unnecessary as of right now." Whis said, lowering his staff. "Well then, Dakon, it seems that we have quite the journey ahead of us."
'Dakon, huh? Could be worse...'
Gusts of wind coalesced beneath him and he took to the skies. As we moved toward the giant pyramid in the sky, I decided to take a look at the land below us.
I had really underestimated the size of the river below us. It pretty much bisected the planet in two. A little later, we arrived at the entrance to the dead tree— a series of white marble buildings were carved into its winding trunk.
Whis flew in through one of the entrances and set me down on a cot that he had created out of thin air.
"Your Saiyan physiology will allow you to start training as soon as tomorrow," he began. I wasn't sure whether he knew that I could understand him. "Though I will have to make sure to have ample food for your growing body. It wouldn't do to underfeed you nearing your growth spurts and then inadvertently stunting your physical growth."
I stared at him unflinchingly and he stared back before giving me a small smile. "Yes, it seems that this will be quite the interesting 39 years." he twirled his staff and a turquoise light washed over my body.
I stifled a yawn and my heavy-lidded eyes slowly began to close. Before I completely lost consciousness, I managed to catch Whis' final words.
"Sleep well, Dakon. You will most certainly need it."
That is the first chapter ladies and gentlemen. I don't think that I'll update this for a while since I've exams soon. The soonest will most probably be summer and that is in around a month or two. This, at first glance, seems like a wish fulfilment-esque story but I'll try to make it as realistic as I can. If anyone hasn't noticed yet, this story is inspired by 'Going Native'. Looking forward to seeing where this goes next and I shall resurface in a thousand years. Peace!
