Today was Isabel's first day of school. She was in kindergarten. Elena walked into her little sister's room to find Esteban reading to her. " Elena!" Isabel shouted. She knocked Esteban over as she ran to her big sister. " Oof," Esteban grunted as he landed on the floor. Isabel hugged Elena. " I'm surprised you're up early," Elena remarked. " Are you kidding? Today's my first day of school!" Isabel replied. Elena laughed as she watched Esteban brush himself off once he got up. " C'mon, let's go get some breakfast," Elena said. Isabel smiled and nodded. " Race you!" Elena yelled. She and Isabel dashed out of the room, nearly knocking down a maid.
Francisco and Luisa were having a conversation. " I can't believe my baby's all grown up," Luisa cried. Francisco sniffled and wiped a tear off his face. " I know… it's so sad," he cried. Suddenly, Isabel bursted into the room, followed by Elena. " I win," she stated. " Oh, alright," Elena replied. She lifted her little sister up into the air and spun her around. They both laughed as Elena set her back down. Luisa and Francisco stared at them as they sat down at the table. The chef brought some pancakes and set them on the table. " Enjoy," he commented before walking away. Esteban joined them a minute later. " Oh, sorry, Esteban, there's no pancakes for you," Elena said. " Someone ate them," she added, looking at Isabel, who was finishing eating. She looked up. " Oh, sorry, we're these yours?" she asked. Elena laughed and Luisa said, " We can make some more… for Esteban." Isabel pouted.
15 minutes later, the three of them were ready for school. They got in a carriage and arrived at the school three minutes later. Esteban and Elena were in sixth grade, which was still elementary school. Elena stopped Isabel at the entrance of the school. " Alright, have a nice day, I'll check on you later, and don't go anywhere alone," she told her sister. Isabel nodded even though she only understood half of what her sister said. " I mean, you could get kidnapped, attacked, killed, or worse, KIDNAPPED, ATTACKED, AND KILLED!" Elena added, her voice turning into a scream at the end. Isabel often fed off of Elena's emotions, so now, she was scared too. She jumped into the carriage that was about to take off. " Way to go, prima," Esteban remarked. Elena rolled her eyes and chased after the carriage.
" Isa, wait, Isa, I was joking," she called after her sister. The carriage stopped. Isabel poked her head out of the carriage. " I was just joking," Elena repeated. " Really?" Isabel asked. " Well, no, but-" Elena started, but realized her sister stuck her head back into the kitchen. " But, that's not likely to happen," she continued. Isabel's head poked out of the carriage again. " The only way for that to happen is if the teacher was a bad guy in disguise," Elena said. Isabel dove back into the carriage. " But, that's not likely to happen either," she told her sister. " Now, come on, we're going to be late for school," she added. She opened the carriage door and brought Isa out of the carriage. She smiled approvingly, until she saw Isabel wasn't moving.
She tried to push her. " Uh, uh, uh," she grunted. Isabel didn't budge. Elena tried again, this time using her shoulder. " Uh, uh, uh, uuuuuuh," she grunted. " Huh, huh, huh," she panted. " Okay, I see we're going to have to do this the hard way," she said. She grabbed onto her sister's waist. Unfortunately, Isabel knew what she was trying to do, so she planted her feet into the ground. Elena tried to pull her up. " Uh, uh, uh, uh, c'mon, move, uuuuuh…. Uuuuh." After a few more seconds of trying that, Elena panted again. " Huh," she sighed. Then she had an idea.
" Okay, how about this, if you go to school, I'll cradle you for ten minutes," she offered. Isabel crossed her arms. " fourteen minutes?" she asked. Isabel shook her head. Elena smirked. " Twenty minutes," she offered. Isabel looked at her and nodded. Elena held out her hand, which Isabel immediately took. They walked to Kindergarten classroom 2, where Elena stopped Isabel. " Remember, don't go anywhere alone, so you don't get-" she started, but looked down to see Isabel getting worked up again. " Uh, I meant, have a nice day, Isa," she corrected. " Remember twenty minutes of cradling time," she whispered in Isabel's ear. She waited for Isabel to enter the classroom before walking away.
The first thirty minutes went well. The teacher introduced herself ( her name is Mrs. Thompson), then asked Isabel her name, introduced her in front of the whole class, then gave Isabel her assigned seat for the year. Mrs. Thompson was in the middle of teaching class, when Elena entered the classroom. " Princess Elena, what are you-" Mrs. Thompson began to ask before she was interrupted by Isabel embracing Elena. " I came here to check on my sister," Elena answered. " No one's being mean to her, right?" she questioned fiercely. The students shook their heads. " Good," Elena remarked. " And it shall stay that way unless you want to deal with me," she added. She hugged Isabel one more time before she said, " Okay, okay, I'll leave ya to it." She exited the classroom and Isabel sat back down.
An hour later, Elena barged into the classroom again. " Oh, Princess, I was just teaching math," Mrs. Thompson stated. Isabel tackled Elena to the ground. Elena stood back up. " Just making sure no one's being mean to Isa and giving her a hard time," she announced. " No, Elena, no one in this classroom is mean," Mrs. Thompson told her. " Oh, well, I'll go then," Elena replied. She kissed Isabel on the forehead before leaving the classroom. Mrs. Thompson was about to announce it was lunch time, but Elena barged into the room again. " I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT, IT'S IMPORTANT, SO LISTEN UP!" she screamed. " Princess, what is it?" Mrs. Thompson asked. " No one's messing with your sister," she added. " What? No, I was just coming in to tell Isa that I packed her an extra lunch," Elena announced. Mrs. Thompson's mouth dropped open.
Elena walked over to Isabel carrying a sack of lunch. " Hmph, she's probably going to get fat," a boy murmured. " Marcus, that wasn't-" Mrs. Thompson started. " Now I know you weren't making fun of my sister," Elena interrupted. The boy shrugged. Elena grabbed him by the shirt and lifted him up. " Apologize," she demanded. " Okay, okay, I'm sorry," Marcus apologized. Elena put him down and pushed him back into his seat. " You need to learn some respect," she snapped. " Yes, Princess," Marcus replied. " Better," Elena said.
She handed her sister her sacked lunch. " Why is there a name scribbled out?" Isabel asked. " Well, since I knew it was yours I figured there was no reason to have a name on there," Elena answered. " Uh, Princess, don't you have to be in class?" Mrs. Thompson inquired. " Nope, my teacher said I could spend the lunch period with Isa since I was so worried about her," Elena explained. " Oh, okay, so, no barging into the classroom out of nowhere?" Mrs. Thompson asked. " Nope," Elena answered. " Phew," Mrs. Thompson sighed with relief. Elena smiled innocently as she and Isabel ate.
A few minutes later, Esteban came into the classroom, looking worried. He spotted Elena, who immediately looked away. " There you are," he said as he hurried over to her. " Yes, and there you are," Elena replied, trying not to look him in the eye. " I've been looking everywhere for my lunch, but can't find it," Esteban explained. " And since you offered to put it away for me earlier, I thought I'd ask you where you put it," he added. He didn't even notice Isabel until he heard her licking and sucking on her fingers. He then spotted the bag with the name scribbled out. " Isa, that's my lunch," he told her. Elena held in a laugh. " No, Elena gave it to me and said it was mine," Isabel said. Esteban glared at Elena. " Oh, did she now?" he asked. Isabel nodded. Elena bursted out laughing. " You always fall for it," she remarked in between laughs. " Why you… you're gonna get it!" Esteban yelled. He chases Elena out of the classroom. Elena's laughs went on for a few minutes until she was far, far away.
A couple hours later, the students were coloring pictures. The door flew open, almost breaking. Elena dashed in and screamed, " NOBODY MOVE A MUSCLE EXCEPT FOR ME AND ISA!" Everybody froze, taking it literally because, well, they're kindergarteners. Mrs. Thompson, however, knew what she meant. " What is it, Princess?" she inquired. " Your sister's fine," she assured the princess. Elena roamed the room with a serious look on her face. Some of the students whimpered. " YOU, DON'T MOVE!" Elena screamed. Marcus whimpered. " I was just going to get my-" he started. Elena glared at him and he obeyed her. Elena walked over to Isabel. " Elena, what's wrong?" Isabel inquired. Elena took a deep breath in and out. " Well, I just got a message from Abuela, and she said you had a dentist appointment," Elena answered. Mrs. Thompson looked furious now. " You interrupted and scared us like that just for an appointment?" she asked. Elena ignored her. " I don't wanna go to the dentist," Isabel whined. " Well, we have to get your teeth extra clean and make sure they're healthy, young lady," Elena replied. " How many more minutes of cradling time do I get?" Isabel asked. Elena sighed. " Ten," she offered. " Deal," Isabel agreed. With that, the two sisters left the classroom. Mrs. Thompson had to close her mouth because it was wide open. Well, that was a very intense first day of school. Hopefully, you don't scare your sister like that on her first day of school! Or interrupt her class like that. And don't worry, Isabel's teeth are completely healthy!
Well, that's it for Elena and Isabel moments. Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed it because that's what I aim for. Reddyle, out!
