"Do you honestly believe that you can defeat me when no one from The Center has ever even come close?!" asked the book through its laughter.

"Yeah, I do!" said Martin with a smile as he tossed a bottle of some cloudy liquid at the creature. However, the book used a leg to knock the bottle to the floor where it shattered.

"Gah!" screamed the book as its legs began to turn to stone from where the liquid had touched its legs and now found it impossible to move.

"What have you done?!" it asked.

"Medusa eyes make for a good petrification potion," said Martin before going to throw a second bottle. However, a pair of wings grew from the book's spine allowing it to escape by flying up toward the ceiling. This also had the effect of breaking its legs off.

"You'll pay for that!" said the book before shooting a laser out of its mouth.

"Raven, read this spell!" said Martin as he tossed her a piece of paper at the same time, he dodged the beam which melted the floor where he had been standing.

"Chains of stone, ancient and old, rise from the ground anew and bind my foe," said Raven as she read the paper. Suddenly, stone chains shot out of the ground and caught the book, sealing any further movement by wrapping around its wings and mouth.

"You… you deciphered the ruins on the Sphinx's heart?!" asked the book the best it could since its mouth was sealed. It's tone of voice was also one of worry as it struggled against the chains which had also pulled him down to the ground.

"It wasn't all that hard to figure out that you fused ancient Greek ruins with Egyptian hieroglyphs," said Martin as he approached with the minotaur's horn in one hand and Hydra blood in the other.

"Now then," he said while pouring the blood on the horn.

"Time to finish this," said Martin as he thrusted the horn into the cover of the book.

"No!" screamed the creature as it erupted into flames once the horn and blood punctured through the pages.

"How could I have lost?!" it asked before turning to ashes.
