Trying desperately to ignore the throbbing need to touch someone, to indulge in her usual lustful tendencies, Kagome ran her nail along a crimson drip. "Hey, careful not to blot it."
"How da fuck did we get roped into painting this ballroom anyways. I could be out doin' satan knows what!"
"Fucking around with clients for Val?"
Angel froze mid-brush. "How'd you know?"
"You didn't try to hide it, Angie. I don't care what you choose to do, as long as you are the one making the choice. It pisses me off that he just uses you as he pleases."
"And he's not using you? Hate to break it to ya, sista, but that bastard is usin' both our asses."
Smirking, Kagome shook her head. "He doesn't use me. I decide if and when he's allowed to touch me. Completely unrelated to Val... where does a girl go shopping in Hell?"
"Made in Hell! It's no name brand, but you'd be hard fuckin' pressed to find one here in Pride. They do got some of the best duds, though!"
Reaching for her phone, Kagome checked both of her pockets. 'Of course, "Made in Hell"...what was I expecting?' Looking at all visible surfaces, she shook her head when she didn't find her cell. 'Where the hell did I put it?!'
"Now, now, I'm sure we could take the two of you somewhere a bit ritzier,"
Jumping, a pink flush colored her cheeks at being caught unawares. Looking back over her shoulder. Kagome felt her dead heart skip a beat and smiled, "you got a place in mind, Al?" She tried to ignore Angel's probing fingers as he nudged her side. He already knew by the way she'd been acting that she had a thing for the Radio demon, but that didn't matter. From her understanding, this demon had no romantic aspirations. He most likely didn't even notice her schoolgirl crush or, more likely, care.
"Not to insert myself into your plans, but there is a nefariously saccharine boutique in the greed ring. It's a bit of a trip but—"
"Are you crazy!?" Angel dropped the brush back into the pain, "I've never been to the greed ring before!"
"It would be nice to go somewhere, anywhere, that's not just Pride."
"I fully agree! Should we call this project complete then?"
Kagome and Angel watched him snap his fingers, and the walls practically painted themselves. "I feel used."
"..." Alastor smiled wider, his eyes narrowing down at Kagome as if eyeing prey. "Perhaps we can find a nice dine-in while there. Greed is known for its high-end eateries, and I heard stories of a lovely canary that dwells in a dive off the border of Avarice Avenue. I've desperately wanted to adventure there myself but haven't the time to do so!"

"Why are we here?"
Alastor stepped out of the limo, holding his hand out for the ladies and Angel. Husk knocked his hand aside before climbing out of the limo. "Consider this our first of many outings in Hell."
Kagome ducked out of the way of a screaming demon as they ran past their group with a broken wing. "That looks painful."
"That looks like the work of security. They'll fuck you up if you try anything here." Angel pushed along his chest and smiled at the lift. "So where is this swanky dive you've been goin' on and on about, Al?"
"Wait, what!?" Kagome pouted, her wings fluttering as she lifted off the ground, "I thought we were going shopping," a pink shimmer of smoke floated along the sidewalk beneath her and trailed longingly after some rando demon. 'Seriously need to reel that in. My head is spinning...' settling her heels on the ground, she caught her balance and tried to focus on the conversation at hand. Charlie was pulling Vaggie towards a window; a few dresses were on mannequins that looked more like corpses. Angel talked to Husk and Al, but Kagome couldn't make heads or tails of what was being said.
Walking away from Angel and Husk, Alastor moved next to Kagome as she took a deep breath to calm herself down. "My dear, you're glowing." He whispered into her ear, smirking as she turned her eyes to him in surprise.
"Glowing?" Kagome focused on her hands. Alastor was right; her purification energy was seeping out. In Hell, that could be dangerous. "I should...go..."
"No, no, what utter nonsense. I'm sure everything will be just fine." Holding his arm out for Kagome, his grin widened when she took it as she had once before. "I've wanted a chance to talk with you, but I haven't had the chance since I've come to the hotel."
"You wanted to talk with me?"
"Concerning your...memories?" The air crackled and drew the attention of the others as Alastor guided Kagome a bit away from their prying ears.
Angel moved to follow them, but Husk caught him by the wrist and nudged him off elsewhere. Though the gambling demon did give Alastor a look, one that said 'make it quick' or...'I don't know what you're up to, but I want no part in it'. It could go both ways. "You good, sugar tits?" Angel called out before Husker could pull him too far away from his girl.
Kagome smiled, "I'm fine. No worries here."
Assured that Kagome would be okay, Angel tugged Husk off to a bar as Vaggie was already being pulled inside the boutique by Charlie, leaving Kagome alone with Alastor.
"Shall we take a walk now?"
Kagome walked along the sidewalk with Alastor, unsure where they were heading, but for some reason...she trusted him. "You said you wanted to talk about my memories? My...lack of memories."
"I so happened to have stumbled upon a curious group not long ago, and they have an interesting book that allows them safe passage into the human realm. Of course, we would need to come to some agreement with the little imps, but I'm sure that something can be arranged."
'A way to get to the other side... I could find out what happened to me.' Kagome felt a tremble run down her spine, slowing to a stop as she turned into his arm and looked up at him. "The reason I'm down here. The person who did this to me, I'll be able to find out both?"
"My dear, I will be right there by your side to help you uncover the secrets of your untimely demise."
"Hey, sexy!"
Kagome stilled.
"How about you lose that cherry tote bag and spend some quality time with a real demon?"
Tightening her grip on Alastor's arm, Kagome scoffed. "A real demon? What? You mean like yourself?" Releasing his arm, she turned and cocked her hip. "I'm afraid I don't see the appeal. Please, regal me. What makes you think you're better?" She flicked her hand out, and a thin red wire of energy snapped out and around the demon's neck.
"GACK!"
Leaning forward, Kagome put a hand to her ear as she listened to the gurgling struggles of the demon trying to breathe. "What's that? I can't quite make out what you're saying." She released him and watched gravity pull him to his knees. Bringing her heel to his shoulder, she pressed her weight on him and watched him crumble beneath her. "Disgusting scum! I should have your tongue removed for even suggesting such a thing."
"Oh, what a deliciously sinister idea!" Alastor stepped up to her side, and Kagome marveled as the demon he hid inside began to show itself. What a show it was. The demon screamed in terror as razor-sharp claws dug into him and ripped his tongue out without any remorse. The blood splattered across the brick stones of the shop on their right. "Oh goodness, you're screaming entirely too much; it's just your tongue."
Kagome frowned, 'this should probably have disturbed me more than it did...' watching the demon crawl away, she shook her head of the thought. Not that she cared. The demon was wasting its breath. If it even thought for a second, she'd give him her attention, he thought wrong. A chill crawled up along her spine, and a blood-soaked hand guided her down the street. No matter. No matter. Everything was okay. She felt safe again, and despite the strong stench of iron in the air, she smiled happily from next to the Radio Demon. "So, these guys who can get to the Human realm. What exactly makes you think they'll help us?"
Holding his hand out, a swirl of crimson poured from his palm and what looked like a horse appeared in the middle. "He's got a unique fascination with these tacky little toys. Makes dealing with him particularly easy to do. I don't suppose you like them?"
"I've never been interested in collecting tiny bobbles like this." Feeling a warm thrum of energy emanate from inside, Kagome closed her eyes and brushed the gentle ebb and flow of purification energy away. At the moment, it was necessary to keep it at bay. There were no threats around her that Alastor couldn't handle, and if needed, she could deal with them too.
"Ah, then it's not just me. Oh," holding a hand out towards a store, he smiled, "have you ever blended in with the crowd above?"
"Only when I was alive, and even then, not all that well."
Cackling, he gave her a gentle push, guiding her inside where the two found the most non-hell-looking wears to dress in up-top. For Kagome, she settled on a sweet button-up top in a pale shade of sage green, a white and silver polka-dot scarf tied around the top's collar, and a light brown skirt that fell just past her knees. This, of course, clashed horribly with her crimson lust-colored skin tone. "How do I hide my tail and horns? Or, for that matter, my red skin?"
"My dear, you need only imagine what you wish to look like and focus on that particular meat suit."
"I imagine it would be a bad idea to wear my meat suit?"
"I think it would be most amusing. I encourage it!" Tightening the bow at his neck as he said as much.
Kagome raised a brow, shaking her head as she reached out and knocked his hand away from the bow. Watching a look of surprise stumble onto his normally controlled smile, she removed his bow and handed it to him. "You would stick out like a sore thumb if you wore that. Bowties haven't gone out of style yet, but they aren't a casual street fashion. I don't know of any Oscars that you and I are going to, but no bow tie unless the dress code is formal."
"I see..." Clutching his bowtie in his hand, he carefully pocketed it before searching for a top that would trend nicely with Kagome's outfit. "I think this will work nicely."
She smiled as Alastor grabbed a simple white button-up and grey button-up vest to go over the top of it, a pair of black business pants, and a matching suit jacket. "Oh, Daddy, I could get used to this look."
Smirking, he brushed off invisible lint from his shoulders, "if that makes our story believable, then why not." Pulling on the jacket, he gave himself a once-over and smiled. "Not bad. Now...how about we go and meet with our carpool."
