Author's Note

Okay, just like I said, Pokemon is first. Get ready... for Pokemon Shield!

Nui lands in Rose's world and takes a look around. She smells the fresh air and breathes out. "...Maman..." She let out.

"Hey there. Who are you?"

Nui jumped a bit, turning to face a boy with purple hair and yellow eyes. "Name's Hop. What's yours?"

"N-Nui."

"That's a pretty name!" Hop exclaimed in delight. Nui giggling nervously.

"T-Thanks... So... why's your name Hop?" Nui asked.

"Hmm... I dunno. Maybe cause I hop a lot when I'm excited~" Hop shrugged. Nui snorts in amusement.

"You're funny~ A-Anyway, know any place I can stay?" Nui brought up.

"Sure I do! How about that house over there?" Hop asked back, pointing to a house. "It's right across my house."

"Thanks!" Nui smiled before looking at some sheep-like creatures. "Oh! What are those cute things?"

"Those are Wooloo. Sheep Pokemon."

"Pokemon?"

"It's short for Pocket Monster."

"Monsters in your pocket?"

"Technically~!" Hop scratched the back of his head, chuckling.

"...Hm." Nui hummed before going to the first Wooloo she can go to. She reaches for that Wooloo, but the Wooloo backs off a little. "H-Hey... It's... okay... I'm not going to hurt you..." She said before gently approaching, the Wooloo warming up to her before her hand makes soft contact. The Wooloo baas in comfort, Nui sighing in relief before she starts petting the Wooloo, giving it little scritches on its head, body, and chin. "Aw~ I really like you~ Can I keep this one?"

"You'll need a Poke Ball first." Hop pointed out before pulling out a small red and white ball. "That's one of these things. If you throw it at a Pokemon, you have a chance to capture it. But in order to do that, you need to hit a Pokemon with another Pokemon. Do you have any on you?"

"...No..." Nui sighed, standing up, getting one last pet in on the Wooloo before going to her house.

After going in her new home...

Nui looks around the house and sees that the house has been decked out with all sorts of things Nui would like, which is weird for her. She then finds a note on the ground then reads it.

"Dear Nui,

By the time you read this, I might be either long gone or we'll have destroyed or merged every other world by then. If the we destroyed every other world, I suppose Cross was never strong enough to complete his goals to begin with. I apologize for killing him accidentally. If we've merged every other world, well, it might include this world so you might never read this by the time we complete our goal since every world merged will be destroyed by the sun.

If I am long gone, I just want you to know that I love you, even after you betrayed me. I have left everything you might like here in this humble home. You are strong, my dear. I know that even without any powers you have at your disposal, you can save this world without me to hold your hand. You'll find everything you need to start your long journey in this world in the room upstairs where you found this note.

Nui. If I am long gone and you betrayed me by that point, Ryuko and Satsuki are your family now. Keep them close to your heart. Save this precious world you love as well as any other world you may come across.

Nui was reduced to a sobbing mess by the time she finished. She could not stop crying. "Oui... Maman..."

After Nui was done crying and after she got everything she needed from up the stairs, she exited the house. "What'd you find?" Hop asked.

"...A lot of precious things my Maman gave me." Nui answered, looking up with tears in her eye.

"...Something happen to her?"

"...I'm guessing."

The two share a silence. Not the awkward kind, more like a mourning silence.

"...Hey. Can I take you somewhere that might cheer you up?"

"Huh?"

Hop takes Nui to see a man with purple hair, yellow eyes, a cape, a baseball cap, a black shirt with a sword and shield symbol on it, white shorts, white socks, and white shoes who poses for a crowd he's surrounded by, making them cheer. "Who's that?" Nui brought up.

"That's my big brother, Leon." Hop told. "And that Pokemon beside him is his Charizard!"

"Charizard?" Nui repeated, looking at a fire breathing "dragon" that was by Leon's side. "Whoa... Is that a dragon?"

"Nope. It's a fire/flying type Pokemon." Hop corrected.

"Then... why does it LOOK like a dragon?"

"I dunno."

"...You're weird. I like you~"

"Wha!?" Hop blushed, Nui giggling. "Thanks, Hop. I really needed this." She wiped a tear out of her eye. Leon comes out of the crowd.

"Hey there. You're Nui, right? Rose told me about you." Leon said to Nui.

"Huh? He did? I mean, uh, yeah. That's... right." Nui replied.

"Cool~! I was looking for another rival aside from my little bro. C'mon over to our house." Leon asked of.

"Uh... Yes, sir."

"Heh. Just call me Leon~!"

The trio go to Hop and Leon's house where they spend time talking before Leon pulls out three Poke Balls. "Okay, Nui. Rose wanted you to make the first choice of your first Pokemon. Look closely at each of them, okay?" Leon asked before tossing the Balls into the air, making them open before three Pokemon appear in a blue and white light.

"Grookey, the Grass-type Chimp Pokemon! Scorbunny, the Fire-type Rabbit Pokemon! Sobble, the Water-type Water Lizard Pokemon!" Leon called a green chimp, a white and red rabbit with a bandage on its nose, and a blue water lizard respectively. Nui watches the Pokemon run around in amazement, Grookey climbing a tree, Sobble diving into a pond, and Scorbunny just running around on the ground, leaving little sparks that are snuffed out as quickly as they appear. Sobble has his head appear from the pond before shooting some water from his mouth while Grookey pulls out a stick from his head and taps it against a berry of some kind. Sobble accidentally spits some water on top of Scorbunny which causes him to run towards the tree and headbutt one of its branches, causing Grookey's berry to fall into the pond, making Sobble scared and hop out of the pond before he cries. Grookey appears by his side and taps his stick on the ground, somehow cheering Sobble up. Scorbunny appears and hops in place, doing the same. "All right! Line up, everyone!" Leon asked of the three Pokemon, the trio following his order, lining up on the rug. "Which will you choose first, Nui?"

"Oh... I can't decide... They're all so cuuute~!" Nui exclaimed.

"Go on, Nui. You pick first. I've got my Wooloo, after all~!" Hop told.

"Wha!? You've got a Pokemon already!? No fair...!" Nui pouted. Hop and Leon share a laugh. "Okay, fine..." She sighed before going to choose her first Pokemon. "Hmm..." She hummed before approaching Grookey."

"The Grass-type Pokemon Grookey, huh? It's soothing, like a nice long walk in the woods." Leon said.

"...Hmm... You know what? Let's do it!" Nui decided before Grookey hops towards Nui before the two share a side-five, making Grookey make cute monkey sounds.

"So it'll be Grookey for you, huh? Nice one!" Hop declared. "Then I'll go with... Sobble! You're mine! I'm aiming to be the next Champion, so be ready! You and I'll be doing some serious training!" He told, making Sobble cheer. His Wooloo approaches Sobble, baaing before Sobble makes cute lizard noises.

"I bet you will be, Hop. That's why I brought along these Pokemon for you and Nui. So the two of you can battle and train and grow stronger together... to try to reach me!" Leon nodded before approaching Scorbunny. "And you're coming with me! Charizard will show you the ropes. He's strict, but he's strong and real kind too!" He assured, Scorbunny cheering.
